Torin Reilly Bowen : Accessibility, privilege, and creating safe spaces in marginalized communities
Episode description
On this episode Athena, Caroline, and Lusi welcome from Branson Missouri, Torrin Reilly Bowen as Athena takes lead today and engages in meaningful discourse as we explore the intersectionality in queer communities, and accessibility. On todays episode the trans narrative co hosts meet with Torin Reilly Bowen Tonight and talk about the intersectionality in the queer community, how to make spaces accessible, and the lessons we can learn from the civil rights movement in advocacy and education. “Torin is queer, trans, nonbinary, polyamorous, and disabled. These are large facets of their life, especially their disabilities and a passion for disability rights in all spaces, but especially 2SLGBTQ+ spaces. He has gone through many years of medical trauma and despair to finally reach diagnosis, and understands well how gatekeeping and red taped the American healthcare system is. Torin is also a spouse and parent. They have two children and a loving husband, along with a queer platonic polycule. He is also a hobbyist gamer, artist and writer.”Links to guest social media Fundraiser by Torin Bowen : Top Surgery For Torin! ⸻
