Episode description

Marcia Paul has lived in Georgia for most of her life. She is the proud mother of three children–Candice, Caylen, and John–and completely in love with her grandson, Beau. She spends her summers living on the lake, camping, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. She notes that being outdoors is where she finds her escape from the everyday stressors of life.

She has worked as a paralegal for twenty-plus years and recently earned her Master’s degree at Kennesaw State University in Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, and Development.

Her thesis was “Women, Stress, and American Society: How do we manage it all?” which focused on women’s roles in today’s society and how women are expected to manage their families, homes, careers, etc. and make it look so easy. Her solution in managing these stressful expectations was to get outdoors and connect with nature.

Trail Dames has been an amazing group of supportive women throughout this journey and the stories shared by the members was the driving factor behind her thesis.
