Episode description

Former ESPN host, Sage Steele, says her pre-recorded interview with President Biden in 2021 was fully scripted by the network. The script was most likely shared with the White House to prep the president. She was directed to stay on script and not deviate from it.

recounted her experience while at ESPN interviewing president Joseph Robinette Bribery. And there's some interesting things that she tells us about that experience, things that I think we will all be quite you know, we won't be super surprised by. But it's always nice to have the receipts on things that we suspect to be the case in reality. So let's look at this interview that or this, uh well, this interview that Saved Steel had with Fox News Digital where she was recounting her experience interviewing the President of the United States while she was employed by while she was a host at ESPN.

Now, of course she no longer is at ESPN. There's a whole there's a whole story behind that. But I think Sage Steele, she's chexy has Tice. You're not far from the studio in Bloomington, Indiana, IU Indiana University. But she, I think is one of the principled folks. Now she's specifically in sports journalism, which which candidly is maybe run by more radicals than even the political and news media today. But she was at ESPN in

twenty twenty one, they had arranged an interview with President Joseph Biden. It would have been not long after his inauguration. It would have been right around that time when he was beginning to completely decimate the border, when he was completely working to destroy the economy of the United States, when inflation was really starting to kick in the gear. This would have been March of twenty twenty one, and so she had the experience Sage still did of interviewing President Biden,

which, look, is should be an honor. Look, you know, my thoughts, my feelings on President bribery. I don't really make these things a secret. You know this. I got tons of problems with this administration now. But there's something about interviewing, having the opportunity to interview talk with the President of the United States, the commander in chief of the world's most incredible military force that's ever been known. There's something remarkable about that opportunity.

Whoever it is that's holding office, whether you agree with them or not, whether you think they are the best president ever or a clear end present danger to our very system of government and as they say, our democracy itself. So she had this experience and she, you know, she was it sounds like from this interview that she was, you know, very I mean, just what's the word just honored to do this and so but she said this wasn't like most interviews that she had done. In fact, she said

that it was very structured. It was also a pre recorded interview, and her bosses at ESPN handed her a script to go off of. Now, I don't do many interviews here. That's something that might change as we've expanded our our program to a couple of hours now, which, by the way, if you can't get those hours, you can always go to the website. You can go to tied upshow dot com, slash listen, you can

listen there. You can just go I think to the homepage and actually listen as well, or wherever you download your podcast Apple Podcasts, totally free, Spotify, whatever, you can subscribe there and get our updates, our updated podcasts sent to you each and every day. But I've had the experience of doing some interviews, and this is mostly by choice. You can imagine, well, let me say this. You we get more requests for interviews on

this show, then you probably can imagine it's a lot. I mean, there's a lot of people reaching out with a lot of things, and on rare occasions we do them. We used to do them. We never did them a lot, but we did them a little bit from time to time, especially as we got into election years. You know, we would interview Congressman. We've had Mark Meadows on the program. We've had Senator Mike Brawn and Senator Marsha Blackburn, other folks. The interviews I enjoy. We had

Marcus Latrelle on here, who was who to have on? He was just an interesting guy to talk with. I've spoken with Lee Strobel, the author of the Case for Christ. Anyway, my point is I have a little bit of experience. Of course, I don't have execs. You know, this is something we started this my friends in the bedroom closet, this podcast back in twenty and fifteen, and you know, we did this the way that we wanted to do it. We don't. Actually, it's one of

the things I take great pride in. And I'm guessing Sage Steele is now experiencing a little bit. Although her podcast is not produced by Bill Maher's company, I don't mar Productions or something like that. But she's not under the heavy thumb of a lot of you know, of these executives who really have pressure from well from lots of folks to maintain the political the political narrative. I don't have any of that, So I don't have to have a lot

of a script. I don't have to have any script, but sometimes it's nice to jot down a few things that you make sure you want to get to or ask about or whatever. But she said it wasn't even like that she had a script. She had a script handed to her from her bosses. And she said this in this Fox News digital interview. That was an

interesting experience in its own right because it was so structured. And then she said this, And I was told, you will say, boy, these you talk about the Nazis, and you talk about the authoritarians here, listen to this. And I was told, you will say every word that we write out. You will not deviate from the script and go So basically she was not allowed to even ask follow up questions. And I'm going to read a section of this piece here at Fox What is this foxnews dot com.

Let's see she says this or the article says this. Many of the questions Steele asked Biden in March. In the March twenty twenty one interview pertained to sports leagues attempting to restore normalcy during the COVID pandemic and vaccine hesitancy among athletes and fans. Her interview made headlines at the time when Biden supported the MLB's All Star Game boycott of Atlanta following the passage of Georgia's election reform law.

You remember that takes us back in time a little bit. But everything Smith, excuse me, Steele said to the president ultimately came from ESPN's c suite, the executives, the folks that were making the decisions as to what would actually be vocalized by ESPN employees on their network. And so listen to what she says in talking about this quote unquote script that she was given. She

said, she was given a script, quote to the word. Every single question was scripted, gone over dozens of times by many editors and executives. She said that she was on script and was told not to deviate. It was very much this is what you will ask, This is how you will say it. No follow ups, no follow ups. Next, this went up to the fourth floor. The article writes here the author of the article. As we said, where all the bosses. Oh, no, this

is her in continuation. I thought that was the end of a quotation mark. So this is still stage sealed. This went up to the fourth floor, as we said, where all the bosses, the top executives, the decision makers are. The president of our company, the CEO where they all worked. So then she was asked as to whether or not Biden was given the questionquestions in advance what seems to be the logical conclusion to draw at this point. She says that she can't say for certain, but she seemed confident

that that is in fact what happened. ESPN, of course declined to comment. So I'm going to talk about this throughout the rest of this segment, maybe get into it in the next as well. It makes me think of some other things that are in the news, which are also we've got in the stack of stuff on the website as well. But my friends, you all know that Mike Lindell and my Pillow no longer have the support of their

box stores or shopping channels the way that they used to. They have been hit by cancel culture, and so they are launching twenty five dollars extravaganza, passing savings on some of their products that they have by just selling direct to the public. They want to save those we'll pass those savings directly onto you. So in order to help get the word out, they've got this twenty

five dollars Extravaganza. Some of the products that you will find as a part of this extravaganza include a two pack multi use My Pillow just twenty five dollars, My Pillow Sandals also twenty five dollars, six pack towel sets twenty five bucks. Four pack dish towels are also also twenty five dollars, and for the first time ever, the Premium My Pillows with the all new Giza fabric coming in any size, any loft, any level, yes even the king

size. Those are just twenty five dollars as well. This offer won't last long, so you can order now by going to MyPillow dot com slash Todd. Use promo code Todd. When you do, you will get free shipping on your entire order today. You can also call if you prefer or do that. I know some of you do phone number eight hundred five four four eighty nine thirty nine eight hundred five four four eight nine three nine. Use promo code Todd there as well. You'll get your free shipping on the entire

order. So we've under we've come to understand that this is how the Biden administration operates. Now, we don't know definitively that they were given the script that ESPN executives had approved for a Sage Steel to ask back in March of twenty twenty one. Remember this was right after right after his inauguration. I mean we're talking a couple of months now. Again, he's had time at this point to destroy our border, taking whatever security Trump had built into that

border and turning it into an absolute open debacle. And he's also had time to begin the process of really ramping up inflation, making sure that the average American family is hurt greatly by his economic policies. So, and he was setting the stage for other things as well. Because American weakness, which of course is the most provocative thing that can come from the White House, American

weakness was on display. We hadn't yet gotten to the Afghanistan botched withdrawal, the disaster there, but that was being the stage was being set for that. And so these things were all in motion or currently at that time, well underway. And ESPN invites him on and they say, here's what you're gonna do. You're gonna ask these questions. You're not gonna ask follow ups.

You're gonna word these questions as written on this script. And on top of that, you're gonna say them like this right, seems like a very freedom loving organization right there at ESPN. Nonetheless, this is what she was told to do. This was the process, and you have to ask why.

Well, Number one, the obvious first answer is that everybody, and I mean everybody, everybody in the know, everyone with direct access, whether through the media or someone that's working with the Biden White House intimately, you know, behind closed doors sort of thing. They won one hundred percent new in March of twenty twenty one, the mental condition of President Joseph Bribery.

They knew he was not fit for office then now we suspected or even knew that at the time as well, but they have a different level of quote unquote knowing it. They are around it every day, and so they wanted to make sure that they didn't give the president too many things that would make him have to go off of his script the way that he would answer the questions, well, the way that his team would tell him to answer questions.

So I have little to no doubt. I can't say with absolute certainty, but I'm pretty confident that they gave this script to the Biden minute. We have other evidence that this sort of thing has happened, even outside of

this particular incident. But why wouldn't they, I mean, put yourself in in the shoes of the Biden administration, put yourself in the shoes of the folks there who are responsible for controlling the narrative, controlling the messaging, making sure that people see the side of Biden that you want them to see, which I don't even know what that is, but you know that you definitely don't want them to see the part of him where he literally has no idea

what's going on. They don't want you to see that. But they don't have the best They don't know what what to show you. They just know what to keep away from you, to keep away from the American people. And of course, if you throw all of your morality out the window, all of your concern for the human being of Joseph Biden out the window, and say, hey, you're just gonna you know, I mean, we're just a couple of steps away. I don't know if I should say that.

I want to say something that this reminds me of. I need to think about that a minute. I don't think there's a problem with it, but I don't want to create unnecessary hubbub around here. But so anyway, we've got this scenario where the president of the United States is very carefully managed by his people, and not just his people, but in return, the media, who I call the pr firm of the Democrat Party. That is what they've become. The media is part of what I call the Seven Pillars

of Propaganda. They are there to mislead the American people for the specific reason of getting Americans to take the action that the left wants them to take. And so this is all carefully orchestrated. But if you put yourself in that scenario and you took away all concerned from morality, what was right and wrong, you took away all concern not saying this is a good idea. Please

don't live your life like this. But if you did this and you were made to be the president's media handler, isn't this exactly what you would do? You would say, hey, ESPN, come up with some questions. You probably would even say the questions have to do with X, Y,

and Z. We focus grouped these questions. We know that certain words and phrases that President Biden can use will help his approval rating with the American people, the folks that are going to be watching this, so you can ask about this, this, and this, But we want to see the questions beforehand so that we can give Biden the opportunity to prepare for these prior to

sitting down in front of the camera. Now, there's another part of this story that I've not yet gotten to that I want to get to, and I'm looking here at the clock, going to be next segment now, But there's another part of the story, a human part of the story that Sage Steel shares in her Fox News digital interview, which I want to uh, which I want to get to again next segment, So we will do that.

But that if you were responsible, if your job was to make sure that you managed the message coming out of the White House, and your job was specifically to coach and to manage Joseph Biden, this is exactly what you would do. If you threw all your morality out the window, all sense of right and wrong, all belief in the free and independent press, all that stuff, and you just your job was to make sure that nothing metaphorically

or in reality crashed and burnt. That would be I think the way that you would handle it, and it appears that's what was happening here during this interview that he had with Sage Steel back in March of twenty twenty one. So we'll talk about that a little bit more on the other side of the break, my friends. But before we get to that break, let me tell you a little bit about my friend Eric Wilson at I Sell Health.

Eric Wilson has been serving clients all throughout the country since two thousand and four. That's twenty years now. Again for those of you who are socialists or Communist Bernie Sanders supporters, who clearly are not very good at math, twenty years he's been serving people in this great nation and he helps serve them specifically through individual health plans, group health plans, and even through some Medicare plans. He's an expert in the Affordable Care Act. He's been interviewed on lots

of sources. Media has gone to him to explain health insurance, especially in the wake of Obamacare and so forth, and he's here to help you navigate the complexities of our current health insurance market. Eric is available for a free, no cost consultation eight one, five, three, seven, two thirteen, sixty three eight, one, five, three, seven, two, thirteen sixty three, or visit I sellhealth dot com Quick time. I'm out

my friends back in just a minute. Welcome back, my friends. So I told you before the break that there was a part of the story Sage Steel talking with Fox News Digital that I hadn't gotten to yet that I think is relevant and important to ask, because again, the Left paints themselves as the group of people who care, the group of people who are just benevolent.

They're all loving, they just have massively big hearts. They're going to make life on planet Earth as perfect as possible, ushering in a utopia in fact that only can be ushered in by someone with his heart, with the

heart as big as their heart. But yet you find yourself wondering. You find yourself wondering, where is the concern for the man, Not the president of the United States, not the person who's the commander in chief, not the person who they have to coach and manage for these interviews, in these scripted interviews. No, no, no, the person, the man, the husband, the father, Where's the concern for him? And this is what Sage Steele, this is the Fox News Digital article that I'm reading from

here, which is in the sack of Stuff on the website. Steele, who last week launched her new podcast, The Sage Steele Show, set her brief interaction with the oldest sitting president was quote heartbreaking, referring to his mental acuity. I think it's really heartbreaking. This is what she says, that the people who love Joe Biden and say they truly care about him have allowed it to get to this point. So I'm not even looking at this from

a political angle or my beliefs in anything. This is the human side of it. And when someone is struggling, we allow them to continue to be in the spotlight and put them out there in the first place when they know there were issues. Of course they had to know. So it's a humanity thing with me against Sage Steel, where I don't care where anyone stands and what they vote for or who they believe in. Do you really care about that person as a father, as a husband, as in everything. That's

what she said. So she said in this interview, in this interview that there was chit chat like she had to stay on script. But before the interview started, Biden, of course was connected because this was a satellite interview. It was pre recorded, so there was some chit chatting going on. Now the first thing that sounds a little bit strange to me, and I'm not We had a Tell Visions show for a while and we would do some interviews, so we never I never saw this with some of any of our

guests. To be quite honest, I never interviewed the President of the United States. But this is what she saw whenever she first connected to Biden via the satellite link. She said that there was it was the screen was black, and she said, like they put a curtain over the lens of the camera. So she says, you can't hear him until the last second or see him, excuse me, to the last second, but you can hear and so they're chit chatting. And so she said she can overhear him talking

with one of his handlers. What's this for? He says, who am I talking to? Wait? What's her name? Which, look, some people may hear that and think, my goodness, what's going on. But for someone as busy this part doesn't show like Miazod, but someone as busy as the President of the United States. I mean, they're they're pushed in front of cameras. They're pushed onto stages pretty quickly, sometimes back to back

to back to back. It reminds me a little bit of if any of you have ever been to a concert, and sometimes you see this where the band, the lead singer or whoever, will say, how's it going Indianapolis and they're in Pittsburgh or something like this, right, So they want to avoid that. They want to avoid that. He wants to make sure who am I talking to, what's this for? Whatever? So but again you also wonder, I mean, they this administration is not putting him out there

nearly as much as say Trump is out there. Trump's in the media infinitely more than Biden even now. Anyway, so she talks about her first encounter. She says, Hi, mister president, nice to meet you. She said, I'm just trying to fill in the time here. And he said, you know, I used to play football, and she says, so he started to tell me football stories of his greatness, and again I can't see him, she says, you can see the curtain. He goes,

and I have the best hands. What do you say to that? She says, And then I said, oh, so you were a receiver and then he started to explain it. And here's the saddest thing, still said. His voice just trailed off. He said I was good, and then he went silent, and then he goes, uh, never mind. And you've seen him do this. If you've seen Biden in any interview, you've

seen him do this where he just freezes. And again, I want to be fair because any person that speaks as much as the President of the United States, any person that speaks even as much as I do. Doing this program a couple hours a day, there's a lot of words that you say, and sometimes those words are wrong. Now, of course, if you listen to this program, know that it's very very rare for that to be

the case here. But you know what I mean, there's sometimes you refer to someone by the wrong name, especially if you get it into your head. I coach soccer. I coach soccer. There's two boys on the team. I think I'll just say first names here. One is Levi and one is Lenux. Now they don't really they they might resemble each other a little bit in the sense that they're roughly the same height, the same build, the same length of hair, which they've got. Some you know the trendy

longer hair. Our son has hair like that as well, some longer hair on top all that. So they may they might resemble each other, but I wouldn't say they look like each other. But they're fairly close. But for me, and this is where I'm trying to just be human here and fair minded in this situation. If names begin with the same letters are the

same, even if it's the same sound. If it doesn't have to be the same letters, but if it's the same general sound, then sometimes I get to thinking past, you know, past the name and onto something else. And it's very easy for me to say LEVI when I meant Lenux. Now the name itself doesn't, of course sound the same, but the beginning of it is the same, and so sometimes I can let my subconscious finish the name, and it's sometimes wrong. So I get parts of this.

I can understand that because you know you're you're there to talk about some things that might require some focus, and maybe he's focused on the content of what he wants to make sure he communicates to Sage Steel. That's that's the that's the purest in me, folks that thinks that. But then when you factor this in with what we've seen on display for the past well however long he's been in office, plus that campaign where they hit him. I mean,

it's it's not it's it's obvious that he has that he has problems. It's obvious that he has problems, and she's seen it up close and personal. She's out there telling the story that hey, this is not good, this is not natural, this is sad. You know, we had to give him. She seems to believe the questions in advance. She was not allowed to ask follow up questions, she was not allowed to be conversational. It was purely basically telling Sage Steele that you're the puppet for this particular segment.

You will say what we want you to say. You will ask it how we want you to ask it. You will stay on the script, and that's it. That's your job for this segment, which of course leads people to believe me included that the president was given this an advance and given what she has seen personally and what we've seen as well just in general, that's exactly what any person would do if given the task and responsibility, especially if

you get rid of all moral decency. This concept of what's right and wrong, this idea of a free and objective media, and so forth. This is exactly what anybody would do, which is to keep tight a tight rain on this president because that's when he goes off script, is when really really bad things happen. So there you go. I want to shift gears in the next segment. A couple of other things I want to get to here

before we wrap up this hour. But before we take that break, my friends, let me tell you a little bit about one of our newer advertisers, Nick neck Naturals. Nicknack Naturals is an American small business that prioritizes customer health and uses premium all natural ingredients to produce naturally better nicotine. Now, this is a warning that this product does contain nicotine, and nicotine is an addictive chemical, which is exactly why if you're not using a form of nicotine

nickknack dot com. That's in ic nac dot com. Promo code Todd saves you fifteen percent. So when we get back from the break, a couple of other things I want to hit on here before we wrap up the hour. So that being said, my friends, sit tight. You're listening here to conservative not better talk. I am your host, Todd Huff back in just a minute. Welcome back to my friend. So, a couple of things I want to make sure that we get to this final segment here.

Well, I have them in order we'll do our best. So we've been talking about the media and the way that the way that Biden has is handled, the way that his interviews, at least in this particular instance with Sage Steel have to go. And I understand that, I do understand that. I think it's I think it's misleading at best, absolutely deceitful at worst.

So we understand that the media, the administration understands the power of the media and creating the narrative and protecting well what they consider their you know, I've out said their asset, but now as I think about it, as they protect the liability of the person of Joseph robin at Biden, they protect they limit the risk of that liability by having third parties intervene to soften the blow that an unfettered look into the life and cognitive ability of Joseph Biden for the

average American would send red flags up left and right. And so they're trying to manage and trying to maintain that. Here is something that goes along with that. It's in a different a little bit of a different direction, but it's the same idea they want to They want to control the narrative. This is from the Nationalpulse dot com headline. Here revealed Soros propaganda network founder has

visited biden whitehouse twenty plus times. Tara McGowan, founder of Courier Newsroom and its parent Good Information Incorporated, has made almost twenty visits to Joe Biden's White House, according to visitor logues. The apparent closeness of McGowan to the ruling regime posts questions about her company's claimed independence considering their openly left leaning editorial position.

McGowan's news enterprise has received huge sums of money from leftists polutocrat George Soros whose bad news, by the way, if you don't know that already. It also boasts significant relationships with these key figures in the White House. These include Jordan Finkelstein, chief of staff to a senior Biden advisor, Patrick Stevenson, Deputy Assistant to the President and senior advisor or Digital strategy, and Madeleine

Strausser and Nina Serve how do I Serve? Vastava, linked to former White House Chief of Staff ron Klayton. Her meetings with these Biden officials raise questions about potential coordination between her media entities in the White House. McGowan and Stevenson, in particular, both focus on online engagement. I mean, look,

well, there should be suspicion here. It should raise questions. This is the sort of thing that they know, the left knows, the Biden administration knows that they have to do. If you just if you just let Biden go out there like Trump is right, if you have Biden on the stage at rallies and you just let him freestyle for an hour and a half at

longer. In some instances, if you have Biden up there doing that, very very bad things would happen to that campaign because people would see in no time at all, they would see just how incapable Biden is to be commander in chief. The article also says Sir McGowan's White House access seems likely to have facilitated and facilitated an exclusive interview with Biden for Career Newsroom. McGowan previously

worked for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton's election campaigns. I'm sure those are unrelated facts to what's going on here, and her side initiated a seven figure ad campaign promoting Democrat politicians during the twenty twenty elections. Still continues beyond that.

We're not even haven't even exhausted everything about Ms McGowan on here. She also runs a progressive political organization named Acronym, which raised one hundred million dollars from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Marene Powell, Jobs, and Jeffrey Katzenberg used to fund leftist political ad campaigns. But I'm sure she's just there to report

fairly on the Biden administration. So the importance here of the media, the importance here of having that trusted not source of information to the American people. But looking at this through the lens of the administration and through the Biden campaign, this is about controlling the narrative, getting favorable coverage, strategizing, thinking about how to how to create and build these narratives, looking at these folks for favors, looking to them for help, sending them the questions prior to

the interview.
