All right, my friends, you have tuned in. Wise choice you made here today to America's home for conservative not bitter talk. I am your host,
the one, the only, the beloved Todd Huff. Email Todd at Toddoffshow dot com. Three one seven, two one zero twenty eight point thirty is the number that you can text us with the same sorts of things. And it is a pleasure to be here today. You know, the Democrat governor of the Connecticut I believe, has actually come out and he said, look, we I've tried to help. I have tried to help President Biden
along the southern border. I've written a letter along one of my other governor colleagues, the governor from the state of Vermont, who is by the way, a Republican, But the White House has just refused our help. We
have been rejected. We have, folks. The reason I want to talk about this, and I know we talked about illegal immigration, border security, all this stuff for some time now, and it's an issue that matters number one, because we've got this piece of legislation they're trying to sneak past the American people that I want to make sure that we don't allow that to happen.
We don't allow that to happen because and here's the takeaway. The most important thing to know about the issue of border security is that we have won this argument. We have won the argument about the border. We have won
it in every measurable way. We have Democrat mayors in cities that are admitting they have a problem because of illegal immigrants, illegal immigrants that have been allowed to cross our border, that cities and states are not prepared, are not prepared to provide necessary infrastructure and services to it is not they are not prepared to do that. They are not prepared to do that in any number of ways. And so Democrats are now admitting this. Democrats are admitting this.
We have now a governor, the governor of the states of Connecticut, I said Colorado. Ned Lamont said he offered himself to President Biden and again President dismissed it. President rejected it. When you have you've got. We mentioned the other day Rapper fifty cent fifty cent out there saying Trump maybe the answer. We have Rapper Snoop Dogg saying that he has nothing but love and respect
for Trump. We had Michael Rappaport, which we played yesterday, the guy who's I mean, unhinged in so many ways, vulgar and vile in so many ways. He's out there saying the vote for Trump is still on the table because of what illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants attacked six law enforcement officers in New York City at Times Square, and there seems to be no concern for this now, at least not amongst our political leaders, amongst the average Americans.
Of course, of course there are concerns and problems. We have won on this argument now, But there's an important distinction, and that's what I want to get to today, because look, I know some of you are seasoned vets. This is not the first time that you've been through this. You've seen this game played before. You've seen the games of semantics, you've
seen the games of posturing. You've seen people campaigning in a very specific way, and then once the election was over, they never even thought about the issue they were campaigning on. Some of you are season vets. You need
to patch yourself on the back because you know what's going on here. But we have a whole host of other people, a whole host of other people who have been awakened in recent years because of problems that have been created by our government, created by lovers of government, made worse by the lovers of government ushered in by the extreme radical leftists who do not represent but just the tiniest of portions of this great nation. It's a I don't even know if
a fringe is the correct way of referring to this group. It's a portion of the fringe. Extreme radical leftists have ushered in all sorts of chaos in this country. And for those who for those who just can't stomach those words, I don't. I want to be clear that not every problem on this planet can be laid at the feet of Biden and the left. I would say, I would say that when you look at you know, you know the William F. Buckley said, the problem with capitalism, excuse me,
the problem with socialism is socialism the ideology itself. But the problem with capitalism are individual capitalists, meaning that there are bad apples in any bunch, so to speak. So the problem with the idea of socialism, just as an example, is that the ide the ideology itself is broken. It is a broken, bankrupt worldview, broken ideology. Capitalism is the is the right way of looking at it. It allows for people to operate freely. But that
does not mean that individual capitalists will not be will not be problematic. Of course there will be. But let me tell you something else. There were those same people if they were socialists, would also be the problem in socialism in addition to the ideology itself. So, no matter how you slice it, it's worse to have an ideology that's broken because individuals. We're not going to prevent every individual from trying to work the system or practice deceit or whatever.
We know this. This is human nature. This is the condition of humanity since the fall. And so we have to look at this and say, while certainly there are bad apples in the Republican Party, absolutely, unequivocally, one hundred percent, and there are people in the Republican Party that pay lip service to conservative principles and ideals, They pay lip service to the constitution. They pay lip service in order to get campaign donations, in order to
get votes, in order to get volunteers, whatever. That's certainly the case. But the difference is conservatives are embracing are promoting an ideology, even if they're just paying it lip service, which I'm not defending. Don't don't misunderstand. I'm not defending that. I'm simply saying that at least the ideology they are promoting is rooted in truth, whereas the liberal worldview, the radical leftist worldview in particular, is morally bankrupt and completely broken, and so nothing good
can come from that. Nothing good can come from a morally bankrupt and broken worldview. And so while I certainly admit and acknowledge that not all problems on planet Earth come from the radical left, I do say that they will never be able to solve the problems, even if they have people of the highest levels of integrity, because they are embracing an absolutely broken worldview, absolutely broken. Of course, then that begs the question whether you can be how absolutely
moral you could be and still embrace such a morally depraved worldview. I don't think that those are compatible, but that's another discussion for another day. The point is not every problem can be laid at the feet of the lefe, but certainly a lot of these problems can be, and the border is one of them. And even Democrats acknowledge this. Even liberal democrats acknowledge this. Even sitting governors of blue states acknowledge this. Mayors of liberal cities acknowledge this.
We have won the argument on border security. There is I'm not saying there's nothing else to do. Actually, in some ways this is just the beginning of the fight. But we have won the issue. I have written about this in our column, which you can get by free email. By the way, just go to tied upshow dot com and sign up there for
free. I've written about this, We've talked about this. This is important to understand, especially if you are newer to following politics, because because whenever you have all these you have all of these signs and signals that we are kind of in agreement here, let's secure the border, let's stop the madness. It's then it's at that point that some people are maybe tempted to let
their defenses down and think we've won the argument, which we have. But now we have to say, what are we actually going to do about this politically, because now you've got a factor in, I'm dealing with people, I'm dealing with a massive problem. So we have to win the argument number one, which which we have. We have won the argument. Now we have to win the political fight. And those two things are not the same thing. They are different things. Remember, the DC apparatus, the bureaucratic
state, the swamp is its own problem altogether. Yes, part of that problem is that it embraces the worldview of the lovers of big government, up to and including the radical left. But the other part is just that it's it's it's just disgusting itself. It's repugnant, it is inefficient, it doesn't know what it's doing. It's a massive, bloated mess. And so we
have this bill that's now made itself known. We can now actually look at this bill and begin to see what these jokers and clowns in Washington, d C. Have been discussing about doing their proposed solution. And so I ask you this, if you knew that the piece of legislation that these jokers and clowns were putting together behind the scenes, Remember, they kept this They kept this hidden from the American people, They kept it hidden from one another.
This thing was crafted again, not in some sort of open discourse sort of way. It was crafted. Remember, Republicans wanted people to sign on to support it before they even had this thing hammered out. It's all about again, there's so much going on here. There's special interest behind the scenes. There's politicians who don't know the difference between up and down. You've got bills that are of massive size that no one reads, that no one even has
the time to read. So it's one thing after another that creates this absolute mess. So the people in this society, well, we've agreed that the border needs to be secured, which, by the way, should go without saying. But at least we have enough reasonable people in this country to say this madness has got to stop. Even people who are on the liberal side of the aisle agree with this. Now comes the solution, the so called
solution. Do you think it makes sense if you were to find out that in that bill, in that bill, it would be allowed for up to not just five thousand, which was the original rumors on online, but up to eighty five hundred illegal immigrants per day before an emergency border shut down is
issued. So in order think about this, a bill that's designed to secure our border is written in such a way that the that says we will allow up to an average of eighty five hundred illegal immigrants to cross encounters encounters along that border per day before we say we completely shut it down. Well, why are we talking about completely shutting it down as a as a consequence or as I guess if more people come in, If we can do it as step two, why can't we just shut it down as step one? Because
we are at that point. We are at the point I don't know about the number specifically, but we are at the point that this is totally justifiable that I would say the American people are totally behind this issue of absolutely shutting down the border period. Now that doesn't mean that there's no legal immigrants allowed, that we stopped the legal immigration process or anything. I mean, maybe that's a discussion because we can't take in every single person for all times in
this country. We've seen what it does to our cities. I mean, budgets are being slashed by the way. You may have seen may not have seen this. It's in the snack of stuff. The state of Washington has apparently reportedly here given three hundred and forty million dollars of COVID relief money as giveaways to illegal aliens. You try to do that, by the way, you try to misappropriate something for your business and then report it to the irs,
especially to the magnitude of three hundred and forty dollars. Three hundred and forty million dollars. But the government just shrugs their shoulders and says, eh, well, you know, what do you do. It's unbelievable the mess that we are dealing with. But I want to talk about this. I got a SoundBite of a bit of an interview between Sharon Breem Fox News and Senator Langford of Oklahoma, who either doesn't know what's in this bill or is I mean, I don't lying to us. I don't know. I want
to talk about this bill because it's important to understand. We've won the argument itself, but the political solution may not match that whatsoever. This is where the games are played. The stakes are high, and the deceivers are operating behind closed doors. So timeouts in order. When we get back. I want to get to this. But a quick timeout needs to happen right now,
So time my friends back here in just a minute. Welcome back to my friends talking about this bill that has been introduced introduced regarding border security, which again the American people have agreed we need to secure the border. Now, in some ways you might say, well, gee, with has taken us a lot of time to get to that point, and I would agree. But then at the same time, to have as much support for this as there is the idea that the border is in crisis, it is a
mess, it needs to be fixed. That is a big step forward for
this country because we have not really been here say Trump did it. And again I think in that sense maybe we've always had this argument, one on our side, but to see the conditions and everything that is happening there along the southern border and across this whole country because of illegal immigration, because of catch and release, because of well just how we manage the entire thing, because of the elimination of the remain in Mexico policy, whatever, all these
things created an unmitigated disaster to the point to where not only have we won the argument, there is now political pressure, real political pressure to fix this issue. So Congress gets to it. Oh yes, Congress rolls up its sleeves, Congress sits down, and they want to deal with this problem. So we're supposed to believe, Yeah, they're going to come along and they
are going to solve this problem once and for all. Remember, these are the same people, the same people, I think that we can never hit this point enough. The same people who tell you that they can control the levels of the seas in one hundred years. The same people who tell you that they can make sure every single person on planet Earth is paid exactly the perfect amount what they are owed, and they have some chart somewhere that can say, hey, this is what that particular job is worth, and we're
going to ensure that you get it. Of course, they can't make make sure that all of their candidates when they actually have primaries, which is not this year. Of course, they go through the motions. They've kicked RFK Junior out. They didn't want to have to go through that process with Biden. They're worried enough about Trump. They didn't want to prolong this to a
full year of campaigning. But anyway, when they actually had primaries, they could not even make sure that their candidates all had equal time, even a handful of them. But yet they tell us they can do all of these grandiose things. It is absolutely patently absurd and ridiculous to believe this nonsense. But here we are. Here we are, and so now they're gonna sit down and deal with the border. Right the border. You talk about something
that should be incredibly easy to do. This is all. This all has to do with political will. This all has to do with the will of our politicians to do the right thing. Secure the border. My goodness, this is not Look, there are things that need to be done. I'm not minimizing the work. I'm simply saying, give the folks the tools, send enough people down there, give them the right amount of infrastructure, whether that be wall or technology or whatever. Right this is it's not a hard
concept. Keep people from just walking across. How about that? How about if Texas wants to put up a barrier along the Rio Grande River that I don't know, maybe you let them do that. It's just it's remarkable to me. This is not complicated. I mean, I jokingly talk about the idea that well, when I woke up this morning, the walls worked last night. The walls worked in the home studio here held the building up, kept the cool air out, kept the warm air in. When we go
to leave the studio, we walk through the door. We don't walk through
the wall. Because the walls have a purpose and the walls work. And so that is what we have to give the folks along the border who are trying to protect it, in addition to policies that actually work, not just security policies, but how about also ideological concepts that we can pass on to the countries that have been completely just wrecked by these lovers of big government, by these corrupt politicians, by these socialists who have bankrupted their country and starved
their people. How about that? How about exporting the ideas that made America great so that other countries can see greatness increase in their home country as well. They're wherever the country. Whoever embraces these ideas should see prosperity, should see opportunity, should see liberty and freedom and choice. My goodness, these
are good, but we don't do that. In fact, we have people in the White House today who seem embarrassed about the United States of America, who seem to hate the United States of America as founded, that's not going to get it done. And so the problem, of course, just it's in a way it's circular. You've got an open border, you've got no policies that prevent people from coming over. You give them free giveaways once they
get here. You don't help export ideas that they can use to make their own countries better, less violent, less corrupt, more free, more prosperous. And I don't blame them for wanting to come here, but it is
absolutely mismanaged in ways I cannot even fully explain. So Senator James Langford, who is a Republican from the state of Oklahoma, on with Sharon Bream Shannon Bream, excuse me a Fox News defending his legislation, defending this bill, trying to tell people that there is not basically a free pass for the first five thousand, which is what he talks about in this particular interview segment.
But the bill itself, if you read it, gives a free pass to the first eight thousand, five hundred illegal immigrants to enter this country every day. But I just want you to listen to this exchange. I'm going to play this for a little bit here and then I'm going to take a break, but I want you to hear this exchange and listen to how he's framing this bill. And then I'm going to come back after we take a timeout, and I'm going to talk to you about things that we have discovered that
are in the bill. So here we are Senator Langford on with Shannon Bream, Fox News Sunday, talking about this immigration bill. Here. About a month ago, you said you were getting close. Then you say you're even closer now, So let's talk about the rumors. Give you a chance to respond to some of the critics who say they don't like what they know of this deal. There's something a kin to a Title forty two power that would allow everyone at the border to be turned away once there was a rolling average
over a week of five thousand people showing up. Here's Senator Ted Cruz on that idea. This bill normalizes five thousand people a day coming in. Five thousand people a day is over one point eight million a year. That's called an invasion. By the way, under Joe Biden, we've had nine point six million. So the Great Republican Compromises, we're for two thirds of Joe Biden's open borders. That's right, we'll let end six million instead of nine
million. This makes utterly no sense. Is that part of the deal? And how would you convince someone like Senator Cruz to vote for it? Yeah? The challenge that Senator Cruz has and a bunch of other folks is they're so waiting to be able to read the bill on this and this has been our great challenge of being able to fight through the final words, to be able to get the bill text outs so people can hear it right now. There's internet rumors, is all? Let me pause that real quick? Did
Jeready said at that time? That was last week? That was last Wednesday? He said, there's no way for people to be able to read the bill right now, there's just internet rumors, which let that sink in. Remember they wanted people to voice support for a bill that was not finalized yet there was no way for people to read it to know what was in it. There were rumors. Turns out Ted Cruz is right though, which we'll
get to. Actually, Ted crue the numbers that Ted Cruz was given are actually lower than what's in the actual bill, which we'll get to that anyway. But that's important. They want they There's no transparency here. There is literally zero transparency in this process. He continues, Bla're running on. It would be absolutely absurd for me to agree to five thousand people day. This bill focuses on getting us to zero illegal crossings a day. There's no amnesty.
It increases a number of border patrol agents, It increases asylum officers. It increases detention beds so we can quickly detain and then deport individuals. It ends catch and release. It focuses on additional deportation flights out. It changes our asylum process so that people get a fast asylum screening at a higher standard, and then get returned back to their home country. This is not about letting five thousand people in a day. This is the most misunderstood section of
this proposal. And let me tell you briefly what it is. In the last four months, we've had seven days. In four months, we've had seven days that we had less than five thousand people. This is set up for if you have a rush of people coming at the border, the border closes down, no one gets in. This is not someone standing at the border with a little clicker saying I'm going to let one more in. We're at four nine hundred ninety nine, and then it has to stop. It
is a shutdown of the border and everyone actually gets turned around. Okay, God, So why don't we do that now? If we can do that, Senator Langford, if there's a seven day rolling average of five thousand people, which interestingly you refuse to say is actually in there, but then you explain why it is in there, I don't know. You just say that we're too stupid. We're too stupid to understand because it wasn't in the bill
because nothing existed. We've heard internet rumors. Forgive us for not trusting you. You folks have been asleep at the wheel for decades. Anyway, I'm more to say about this. He's a Republican. So for those who say, oh, you just target the Democrats, No, I don't. I target people who look, maybe there's something a nuance here that I need to make sure, we need to make sure that we understand from him. But the bottom line is, this is in the bill, but the number is
not five thousand a day. It's eight thousand, five hundred, eight thousand, five hundred average per day over a seven day rolling average. If we eclipse that number, then there's a hard and fast shutdown. Why is it eight thousand, five hundred? Why why people want this shutdown? Now? I just if it can be done, if we eclipse those numbers, it can be done today. This is patently ridiculous and absurd. And I understand we've got a Democrat run Senate. I understand we've got Biden in the White
House. I understand all of that. But don't tell us something's not in the bill when it clearly is timeouts in order. I'll get to this on the other side of the break, my friends, sit tight back here in just a minute. Welcome back to my friends. We'll continue talking about this bill and in particular some of the things that have been discovered in this bill. We'll do that on the other well, just in a moment here. But before we do that, let me tell you a little bit about my
friends at four Patriots. Four Patriots is here to help you in the event of a natural disaster, of a power outage, of a food shortage. This is at RedState dot com. RedState dot com. It's in the stack of stuff. Headline says centator Lankford doubles down denying five thousand illegals will be admitted daily no
matter what the bill says. And so if you scroll down this article and you read this, there are some bullet points and some bullet points that Red State is sharing, some from colleagues, some from other groups that have analyzed the bill, and they want to tell you what's in the bill. So I'm going to read these bullet points. Here we go. Well, that's not and these numbers aren't accurate because it's actually eighty five hundred I've seen.
I mean, there's a copy of the bill that is also posted. But this says five thousand illegals per day or one point eight million per year are allowed entry before an emergency order can be declared. Those numbers are actually low. Work permits will be issued to illegal aliens. The federal courts in d C listen to this. By the way, the federal courts in d C have original and appellate authority, meaning federal courts in Texas cannot hear cases about
the bill. They want to make sure these are all run through the DCQ are courts, which of course are all run by the left. The emergency can be ignored if the President decides it isn't in our quote national interests. Boy, can you imagine how that could be used? There are limits on the number of days an emergency can be kept in place, regardless of the
number of illegals. All right. He This article also says America First Legal has uncovered more things in the bill that we probably will not, Like all families must be released from custody, only single individuals can be sent back. Unaccompanied miners don't count against the daily total. That daily total, which I've seen as eight thousand, five hundred, but other people's days, is still five thousand. I think it is eight thousand, five hundred. But regardless,
whatever that total is, they're not counting everybody. Number three at key all existing consent decrees in place, some of which prevent immigration laws from being enforced. Number four, it takes excuse me, it makes into law a controversial rule created by Biden that lets asylum officers, not immigration judges, rule
on asylum claims, and it gives them a fifteen percent raise. Number five, the Border patrol can quote opt out, excuse me, the Biden Border team can opt out of the quota of any illegals that they think should be included. So this is like, this is like how they calculate the jobs reports. Go back and look at the jobs reports. They'll give you a number, and I think over the I mean, it's like every month over
the past pretty significant amount of time that they revise the numbers downwards. Sometimes they need to cut them in half. They erroneously quote unquote erroneously doubled the number of jobs created in a particular month. Same sort of thing here, Just it's a numbers game. We're not gonna count you, doesn't matter. And if we do count you, we're gonna say it's a national you know that we don't have to do this because of a national interest. So we're
gonna ignore this law anyway. What is this? What is this centater like? For this is ridiculous? Is what this is? Number six? The bill sunsets in three years, and the maximum permissible number of emergency days each year decreases from two hundred and seventy to two hundred and twenty five to one hundred and eighty. So even if they have created you talk about you know how they complain about loopholes. Oh, there's loopholes. These companies are taking
advantage of loopholes. These billionaires are taking advantage of loopholes, these loopholes, these loopholes, these loopholes, and they blame the people who take advantage of the loopholes that they themselves create. It's preposterous, it is stupid, it is nonsensical. So now think about this, Think about how many ways think about how many ways, if you're the Biden administration, that you could manipulate this to have no difference whatsoever in what you're doing along the border. You
can say, well, that person doesn't count. If you actually do hit the ceiling for when the emergency order is declared, you could say, well, it's not in our national interest to do so. I mean, there's a limit even if there is an emergency declared along the border. There's a maximum number of days that there can be an emergency. Why who? This is so crazy? It's can you imagine? Can you imagine running your life
like this? I mean to say that there's a maxim I wish that I could limit the number of things that could be declared an emergency or crisis in my personal life and say, wait a minute, we've reached the limit. Can't have anymore of these by law. It's just the way that it is. It is complete, completely and utterly just tone deaf to reality, arbitrary at best. Number seven, Here, FEMA receives one point four billion dollars
in grants to provide shelters and immigration services. The bill also appropriates thirty six million dollars for attorneys for illegals. That's great, and number eight illegals entering the US after July twenty first, twenty twenty one automatically get quote conditional permanent
resident status. But there's no pathway to citizenship. They were careful not to put that in permanent resident does not mean citizen, although at some point, what does citizen even mean, because if you're an illegal alien in many places you can already vote, Like, what what does it even mean to be a citizen? What's a conditional permanent resident? Folks, inexcusable. This is garbage. Quick time out back here in just a minute, welcome back to
my friends. Garbage. Indeed, this bill is garbage. These folks do not respect you. These folks think that you're stupid. These folks do not care. They care about whatever is running the gears of Washington, d C. They care about their campaigns, they care about their donors, they care about their political careers and futures. They care about themselves. This is not about you, This is not about the safety of this country. This is
absolutely absolute garbage. This bill is absolute garbage, absolute garbage. And for Republicans to be out there arguing in favor of this, they make themselves part
of the problem regarding immigration. I told Oz during the break, and I don't even like to utter these words, but I am telling you right now, the folks in Congress, the administration today, all the folks that are involved in making the decisions that have created this catastrophe along our southern border, which, by the way, all the clowns out there who are telling me the border's not in crisis, now that everybody from both parties is admitting it,
will you at least acknowledge the folly of your ways. But I am telling you right now the next logical thing to think about. And I do
not take any pleasure in saying this. Let me be clear, but if there is a terrorist activity because someone has come across the border, or of someone's have come across the border and inflicted harm upon the American people, these politicians who have allowed this to happen, including the administration, including Congress, who does not do anything to stop this, they are all culpable, God forbid, should that happen. Quick time out, my friends, back in
just a minute. All right, my friends, So the bill is garbage, This has this nonsense has to be stopped. These folks in office have to be held accountable for creating or not at least not stopping the stuff that's happening in Washington, DC that creates problems for the rest of us around the country, which includes now blue states, blue cities, governors from blue states asking the president if they can help. We've got Alaska and other Alaska,
who's as far away from the southern border. I'm waiting for Hawaii to send some troops to the southern border. This is a disaster. These folks have to fix this problem, and this is not how you do it. Of course, Biden can do a lot of this on his own, which we've talked about. But I've got to go. Have a great day, my friends. STG.
