Episode description

The current Congress has set the record on spending & debt. The Radical Left is on its way to dismantling our financial institutions brick by brick.

The Covid-era Title 42 will expire tomorrow, May 11, 2023. This policy was enacted by President Trump to swiftly remove persons coming across our southern border that had been in a country where communicable diseases were present.

Attention. You're listening to the Todd Huff radio show, America's Home for a Conservative not Bitter Talk radio. Be advised. The content of this program has been documented to prevent and even cure liberalism, and listening may cause you to lean to the right. Here's your conservative but not bitter host, Todd Huff. Well, my friends, what part of the absolute predictable, what part of the absolutely avoidable tragedy, chaos, tumult do you want to discuss today?

We've got and even we're border crisis, We've got financial crises coming out the wazoo, and of course we've got a cultural battle that is waging and raging across this country in so many ways, and many other things as well. We'll get to these things in due course today, my friends, email, Should you want to be part of this important discussion about what is happening to your nation, what is happening to your children's nation, grandchildren's nation,

what we're going to pass along to the next generation. If you want to be a part of that discussion, share your thoughts, opinions, feedback, and of course, always include the appropriate amount of adoration and praise, which is ten to fifteen percent more than you think is necessary. You can email tot tot totupshow dot com or again, let me say that close to us slower. Sometimes I speak a little too quickly. I understand that Todd at

todd hushow dot com is the email. You can also text us three one seven two one zero twenty eight thirty three one seven two one zero twenty eight thirty. If the tongue moves this quickly, just imagine how quickly the brain is firing today, my friends. Anyway, so let's get into just I

mean we're to start right. We've got the next self created, the government created crisis, economic crisis, and of course we also have effectively a wide open, wide open border that is getting worse here as we approach the end of title forty two. So where to start? I think I want to start today by talking about the economics. And I might change my mind on this, but I do want to start with this piece that I read that was published yesterday Just the Facts Daily, Just the Facts Daily dot com.

Again, we will post this on our show notes page excuse me, stack of stuff page. Hat tip to the late Great Rush Limball totushow dot com to search for the Stack of Stuff for today, which by the way, is May the tenth. You'll find an article a piece in here written by James Agresti, headline, everything you've heard about the debt limit is wrong. So let's set the stage again. We've talked about this in recent days.

But Congress, which includes, of course the House of Representatives, which is now led by Speaker Republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and the Senate, which is led by delusional leftist Chuck Schumer, and of course the Executive branch, which is led by the even more delusional Joe Biden, who I do have a SoundBite from Biden trying to pronounce names of well, some names of individuals. I believe it's some event where they were recognizing groups of individual Asian Americans,

and I mean folks. It is, I just it is. If Trump had done this sort of stuff, it is embarrassing. Time permitting, I will I'll play that. If not, I'll put it on the Stack of Stuff page. It is a it'll serve as a nice little chuckle to get you through some of these difficult and tumultuous times. But I want to read this part of this. I don't want to read the whole thing this article

again headlined or entitled everything you've heard about the debt limit is wrong. So we've got Congress, House, the Senate, and the President of the United States trying to work together. Supposedly. I don't believe anything anymore, and by the way, the media and our politicians deserve for us to feel that

way. I don't believe anything I'm told by anybody. I believe the media gives us a narrative that is based one hundred percent on bunk and one hundred percent on what they want the American voter, taxpayer, whatever, the American activist to do. I believe that they're that journalism is for all intents and purposes dead. Although there are some examples of some good journalists, there's not

many, but there are some good journalists. I believe, though, that politicians, in the vast majority of cases, and this would even include both parties, I'm not luck. The Democrat Party does not deserve to have a single vote of a single American the current makeup of I'm talking nationally. I can't obviously speak case by case across the country. Occasionally you will find a reasonable one in certain states, but on a national level, you will find

none. You will find maybe Mansion, maybe Cinema, but those are for reasons of political pressure. Right Cinema has to answer to the voters in the state of Arizona as to why Joseph Robinette Biden has allowed an open border and further state to be overrun by illegal immigrants. She has to answer for that.

Joe Mansion lives in a state, West Virginia. By the way, if I didn't say Christian Cinemas from Arizona, if I didn't say that Joe Mansion Senator from the state of West Virginia, that's a state that votes for Trump and massive numbers. He represents a state that relies heavily upon coal as a source of energy, as a source of jobs, and yet his party, his party is run by leftist that would given the opportunity, if given

the opportunity, would eradicate the coal industry tomorrow. For some reason, the state votes in massive numbers for Trump, for de Santis if he were to be the nominee. But they do not. Yet they somehow still give Joe Manchin an excuse. They did the same thing with Robert Byrd, who, to my knowledge was the last senator who was a member, not just a member, a leader of the KKK. Literally a leader, a recruiter of the KKK. That's not hyperbole, that is not made up, that is

not exaggeration. He was I forget the title. I forget the title grand Cyclops, I think is what the title was. I don't know much about this crap, but I remember reading that that he was, believe a grand cyclops in some chapter or whatever, stay or region of the ku klux Klan. They've got every bridge in highway in the state of West Virginia is named after this guy. He was literally a member, not just a member,

which is bad enough, a leader, a recruiter, a Democrat. But yet, who do they say, if you ask the average person on the street today the last member of the Senate or House or whatever that we know was a member of this absolutely despicable organization, They're gonna say it was a Republican, which, by the way, it's equally bad if it is a Republican. I'm not here to argue that. But the point is they voted

for Robert Byrd in West Virginia as well, so something's happened. Something happens there to where there's a disconnect and they're voting for Democrat senators, but yet they typically vote read in many other ways. So so there's examples of people that I don't always want to say are acting with integrity or principle, But what I will say is that they are held accountable by certain political forces in their respective states. So but maybe they are. Let's give them the benefit

of the doubt. Maybe this radical leftist agenda is just too much on a personal level for these jokers as well. I have a hard time believing that because I don't know how one can align and associate with today's Democrat party fully understanding that there's plenty of things wrong with the Republican Party. Two. But I do not understand at all unless you unless you are Democrat by you know, like family history, and you just don't want to break that cycle.

You feel like you're letting your family down. Or you can disassociate from what you hear or someone can hear from the leadership in the party. This is a radical leftist party, radical leftist party, and Republicans have a lot of

problems too. I mean, the Republican leader in the Senate is Mitch McConnell, who again, I mean, he's been there forever, which is a problem in and of itself, and it's as though he knows how to play the game while at the same time never getting anything effectively done for the Constitution, for the American people, for the political base, just four Americans. I mean, I have a term that I use to describe Republicans whenever they

actually get political power, and I call it a prevent offense. Now, this is an analogy to football, and the analogy goes like this in football. And I don't want to go too much into this because I know many of you are not sports fans or you don't want to think about the NFL, which I don't blame you on that. That's not the point here. But in football, there actually is something called the prevent defense. There isn't

anything called the prevent offense. I'm just using the prevent defense as an analogy to say, this is what Republicans do, except for they're not on defense, they're on offense. So a prev defense is when the other team has possession of the football, there's not much time left on the clock, they don't have any timeouts, and so if you as the defense keep the opposing team in bounds. The clock continues to run, and the theory is we

can give up big chunks of yards, so we'll back way up. Make sure, you know, we guard the sidelines, preventing someone from running out of bounds, because if they run out of bounds, the clock does stop. So instead of letting someone run out of bounds, you tackle them in the field of play, even if you give them a twenty yard chunk of you know, twenty yards of you know, to move down the field. The theory is there isn't enough time to get enough plays to score the points

necessary to tie the game or to win the game. So that's that's a legitimate thing in football in when Republicans take over, when they have political power, they often do what I call prevent offense, meaning they actually have possession of the metaphorical football, but yet they're not really interested in scoring. Instead,

it's a performance. They want to have sophisticated plays. They want to do a bunch of trickery, maybe throwing the old hook and ladder, the Statue of Liberty, a double reverse, a flea flicker right, some sort of trickery, some motion, some shifting. I'm reminded of the Colts play against the Patriots years ago, and I remember Pagano was the coach, or who was the coach, but when they did a ridiculous punt formation and they ended up snapping the ball in a fake punt and it didn't work at all

because of the way the play was designed. Anyway, the point is, the point is they want they want it to look like something's going on. They want it to look like there's a lot of sophistication, a lot of movement. They want the people in the crowd, which is the base, which are those of us to watch politics, to say, wow, they're really trying to gain yards. But that's not what they're doing. They're not trying to advance the metaphorical football. What they're trying to do is make their

base think that. That's the part that's the part of this that drives me crazy. That is the prevent offense. They have the ball, they don't want to score. They just want to get credit for looking like they're trying to score. Because at the end of all the razzle dazzle on this metaphorical play that I'm talking about, if it's a double reverse, a double pass, you know, just a fake screen and you send a receiver deep. The point is, at the end of that play, they might have picked

up a yard or two, maybe even lost yard. Maybe they dropped the pass. But it looks so good, right, It looks like, man, they're really trying to do something here, but they're not. Mitch McConnell holds a lot of responsibility for that. I can't blame a lot on Kevin McCarthy yet since he's not been speaker, but he has been in positions of leadership in the House for sure. So but this is what we have.

This is the reality of the landscape, and so deep down, I don't know how many politicians we actually have that really want to see spending reined in.

I don't know how many politicians really want to get to work. I don't know how many politicians really care about how much debt they are putting you in, how much debt they are putting me in, which, by the way, according to this article that we're going to look at, is now up to an average of two almost two hundred and forty thousand dollars for every

home in the nation. We're up to thirty one and a half trillion and that does not include what we call unfunded liabilities, meaning this gets more into retirement and things that pensions and so forth that aren't necessarily on the books now, but it's coming down the road. They have an obligation to pay these

things out, and that's not even included. This article says. This article says that if you factor that in, the average burden climbs at quadruples, and it gets over a million dollars per household of debt thanks to the government, thanks to there's plenty of people to blame here, thanks to Joe Biden, in part thanks thanks to some Republicans, in part certainly thanks to the lovers of big government who've never seen a social program that you know that they

don't fall in love with. This is it's unconscionable where they've taken us, and I would say it's deliberate. It's one of the many ways they have weakened. They have weakened the American dollar, they have weakened our economy, and they empower themselves every time they they weaken the taxpayer. They just do you have less choices and options for your family because and I'm not saying we're victims please, that's that's another thing together. But they are stacking the deck

against the taxpayer. Brick by brick, this has been built well or destroyed is probably the better way. They're tearing it apart, brick by brick what has been built by the generations before us, and they're discarding those bricks, but they're putting them on the backs of the American taxpayer of you. And now they've got an opportunity to actually do something about it, to actually reduce deficit spinning, which is what we what Republicans are allegedly trying to do.

Although it doesn't actually reduce the debt, what it does is it reduces the rate at which the debt will Expand we don't have anybody there that's really someone who is treating this like it is their own personal finance or their own business. They all to some degree are living in an alternative universe in La La Land. So the argument is, are we going to continue to spend money at a breakneck speed or are we going to spend money at a breakneck speed

but make it twenty five percent less. It's it's sad, but that is the true reality of where we stand today. And the thing is I don't even know if that is really going to win. It is what is in the best interest of the American taxpayer. It is what is in the best interest of people that care about the longevity of this country. You want to talk about risk, risk being posed to the American system of democracy, which

of course is a constitutional republic. But if you want to talk about the ways to put this nation and this republic at risk, it is to spend like these jokers have been spending, and they try to scare people, They try to make them think we're not going to pay. You know, no one's going to get Social Security payments or any of this stuff if we don't get this figured out by whatever the date is here, in the next week

or whatever it is. And they terrify folks. But the truth is this, we're being lied to by this this situation as well, so timeouts in order I'm going to get into this today. There's other things I want to get to as well, including the open border. But let's let's stick on this subject because this is something that is front and center here as we move closer and closer to the end of our current debt ceiling, when it's going

to be eclipsed, and we've got to do something. That's the that's the argument, or we're going to go into default and this nation is going to be in financial calamity. But the truth is, what I want you to know is this nation is already the status quo is that this nation is headed, is already in financial calamity. We have to actually stop it. We have to proactively reverse it. The status quo, the default position is financial

calamity. Just because we don't feel it today does not mean that those bricks are being laid, or better said, that they're being dismantled behind the scene, so that when we do finally wake up and smell the proverbial coffee, we'll see that they have totally destroyed, totally destroyed this nation's financial system and economy. And that is my design for many of these jokers and clowns.

So timeouts in order. Though my friends sit tight listening here to conservative not better talk, exercise extreme caution today because science has proven ninety eight percent of scientists have spoken and they say that listening can in fact cause you too lean to the right. So be safe out there today, my friends back in just a minute, Welcome back, my friends. So let's get back to this article here really quickly, because I don't want to get to the things

today. So again, looking at this article just the Facts Daily dot Com, everything you've heard about the debt limit is wrong. This posted sometime yesterday contrary. Listen to listen to this because this is not what you're told, not what we're told in the media at all, says this, contrary to widespread claims that the US government will default on its debt if Congress does not

raise the debt limit. Federal law and the Constitution require the Treasury to pay the debt, and it has ample tax returns excuse me, tax revenues to do this. Nor would Social Security benefits be affected by a debt limit stalemate unless President Biden illegally diverts social Security revenues to other programs. That, of course, sounds familiar, because social Security has been a Ponzi scheme from well, I don't want to say the beginning, but it's been a Ponzi scheme.

It's been it's it's the reserves have been rated. It's full. If you've seen dumb and dumber, it's full of IOUs. It's full of IOUs. A bunch of notes, receipts maybe that have some. In fact, there probably aren't even receipts for a lot of these expenses. They've just rated it. There's nothing there. Remember, for those of you who are more seasoned citizens, you will remember back in two thousand, one of the debates was about in the two thousand presidential election Al Gore George W. Bush.

One of the debates was what to do with Social Security at talk of privatizing Social Security. In fact, you'll remember Al Gore, amongst some of the other more ridiculous things he has said, he said something to the effect of, well, you remember the phrase lockbox, we're gonna put it put Social Secure already in a lock box. We're gonna lock it up. Put it in a lockbox reminds me of the Biblical parable of the talents, right, for those of you that know that story, that's what it sounds like.

Just bury it in the sand and it's gonna be locked away. But the truth is that's not what happens. It's been rated. It's full of IOUs. The reason that Social Security will in fact be insolvent at some point in its future. And this is not directed to those of you that take it. You're not wrong to take it. I'm not suggesting that you are. I'm simply saying the folks who are wrong in this scenario are people who have been making governing decisions. They are the ones that have rated that lock box,

as al Gore would say. And the money, the reason that Social Security will have shortfalls predicted, it's on your statements when you get it. It's gonna say some I don't know the year, but I think it's two thousand and thirty something like this. It's not that many years it's going to be insolving because because there's no money there to begin with, they fund current Social Security payments from people that are currently having Social Security taken out of their

paychecks, so then people working today. And this again is of no fault of the person who is the beneficiary, of the person who is accessing the Social Security funds that the government was supposed to be putting away in that lockbox. It's not those It's not your fault if you're in that group. I'm this is not a criticism of This is a criticism of our government. And when we watch this stuff on the debt ceiling and we read what I just

read. These folks are capable of anything except for solving problems. They're not capable of that. They don't want to do that. So Social Security is designed so that current people that are currently working, their money is used to fund people's current checks, people who are getting the benefits today. It doesn't mean that you didn't pay into those benefits if you're a recipient. That's not what I'm saying. It's that someone else intervened. The someone else of the

government. They have intervened, taken that money, rated that money, used it for who knows what. Wouldn't be surprised if Hunter Biden's allegedly on that payroll, And then now they've put the burden of funding Social Security for current recipients on today's workers, and so there is no lockbox. It is, in fact a Ponzi scheme. It's what it is. So this article here is basically saying, if we follow the law, which is a big if,

a big if, then there cannot be default. Congress has law, a federal law, and the Constitution requires, as this points out, the Treasury to pay its debt. And even if it did, even if it did, I have no sympathy for these jokers, because they could come together and say, you know what, We're going to pass a law that says, these people, these are the things that we do pay that are not subject to whatever the debt limit is. Because that they have control over this,

they act like they're victims. They act like these this is all self created problems by them. They love to be able to use this leverage to scare people who are in the military, or who get Social Security benefits or whoever, just people who don't want to see their government quote unquote default on some payment. They use this to scare people into voting for them, to scare people, to intimidate people, to make them concerned. And I understand

I'm not criticizing that, especially if you're receiving Social Security. If I really believed these jokers and clowns and government and the media, and I really thought and by the way, it's it's June first, I think, I said in the next week or so. I didn't have the date in front of me. I thought it was a little bit closer. So we got we got to hear about this for the next three weeks. So the point is, the point is is that this is self created by the government. It

is their fault. They own it one hundred percent, one million percent, which doesn't even that number doesn't even match the rate at which they're pushing us into debt and spending money like it's water. They are to blame a hundred percent. They are to blame. They act like they're trying to solve the problem, but they're not trying to solve the problem. Because if they were

really trying to solve just think about it. If you constantly go back to the taxpayer, the voter, the constituent, and you say, if we don't raise the debt limit, meaning if we don't borrow more money, we can't pay for the things that we've promised to pay for. If you're always going back to the taxpayer and making that claim, what not be at some point prudent to say, maybe just here's a news flash for some of these

clowns. Maybe maybe we need to cut spending. And Republicans only want to cut the only one only want to cut the rate of increase by twenty five percent, we're still talking about not actually stopping the debt that has to happen. We can't even get agreement to slow down the rate. To think about that. The left wants nothing to do with that. Today's Democrat party wants

nothing to do with that. And while this problem I understand the problem that we have financially in this country when I look at federal spending, revenues received, and spending in federal deficits, and just the overall debt. That problem. Because of techniques and things that they can do, which are of course these are the things that lead to inflation or that lead to other problems, they can they can minimize that problem today. They can kick that can a

little bit down the road. But at some point, at some point, America's chickens, as Jeremiah Wright said, must come home to roost, must come home to roost. And when if and win, will win. It's not if. When we get to that point, it will one hundred percent be an unfixable problem. It will not be able to be fixed because basically we're when we get to that point, it will be because there are no

other options. And then the debt staring us in the face is going to be so incredibly massive and out of control that there is literally nothing that can be done. Now, there's still plenty of other steps that have to happen in the unraveling of the economy, that the US dollar being the reserve currency. But we're moving even away from that as we speak. This is all self inflicted, self inflicted first and for most by the radical left who have

taken over the Democrat Party. Self inflicted in many cases by Republicans as well. Republicans are less to blame, but some Republicans are still carry a lot of the blame. Some don't, don't carry much of it. But this is a self inflicted problem. They've had the ability to collectively solve this.

They have no interest because they can campaign and scare people and get people to give up more of their money, more of their liberty, more of their choice under well, in exchange for this mythical idea that they're actually they the governing legislating bodies, whether legislative bodies or presidents or whatever, under the guise that these clowns are actually going to do something, and they never do. The only thing they do is make it worse, and we can see it

happening right before our eyes. Quick time out, my friends, back in just a minute. Back, my friend is going to be very very very short this segment, but that we can just use this segment to kind of re calibrate here and move on to something else I want to talk about.

But I'll do that two ways. Number One, I will again reiterate that the situation we are in financially, fiscally, whatever, in this country is one hundred percent the fault of the people that we've sent to Washington, d C. Now, you can say, of course, and there's truth in this, that the American voter is responsible for not holding these jokers accountable.

But you know, they've they've lied to us, they've deceived us, They've played shell you know the games that you find on the street where they you know, they put some money under a shell and they shuffle them up. And no matter which one we pick, we're always wrong because they're a step ahead of us. They're in there talk about collusion. They collude with each other. They're not serious about this. A serious business person could fix these

problems. It would hurt. But see, they don't want to deal with that in the short term. They don't. They would rather make the problem worse. They would rather it be someone else's problem to deal with, and they would rather kick the can down the road, making people thinking the short term that they've somehow mitigated this crisis or disaster. But that's not at all what's happening. They're just pushing it further and further out, and it's getting

bigger and more massive. And when it is unsustainable, when it no longer can be sustained, which we are on that path, and I don't know how far out we are, but we're on that path. And when it falls, when the d day happens, for that there is literally nothing, nothing that can be done to stop it at that point. They want you to think that we can't reverse climate change. This is even if you buy into the fact that it's anthropomorphic climate change, man caused climate change and all

this stuff. If even if you believe that the crisis that we're dealing with on a climate basis, which I think is grossly exaggerated and dramatized for other effects. But the real crisis is the looming fiscal crisis. And there's a lot of reasons it's happening, but at all, it all stems down, stems back to there has been no fiscal responsibility and no real accountability. We've let these folks do too many things that have deceived US and that have played

financial games. They've created inflation, They've raised taxes, they've increased the burden on the American taxpayer. We do not have a It's not that we don't have enough money coming into the federal government, is that we're spending way, way, way too much and that will eventually break the nation and night again. We got a question the other day about what happens if and when the

dollar collapses. Well, I mean, folks, when you're talking about this sort of stuff, I mean, there has to be there has to be an establishment of a new government, and we know, new currency, new government. There's got to be changes, right, there has to be massive changes. And of course they salivate at the opportunity to do something else, to become more globalist, to become more socialists, to get rid of the things like the Bill of Rights, the Constitution. They salivate at that opportunity.

I'm telling you they do. You know that they anyway kind out a good time out. I'm gonna shift gears on the other side of this break, I'm gonna talk a little bit about the one of the other many, one of the other many crisis crises. I should say that had been created by government and that had been put on well thrown into hyperspeed by this administration. And of course one of those is what's happening along the southern border. So we'll talk about that on the other side of the break. My friends,

sit tight. Back in just a minute one, I'm back, my friends. So we know that the southern border has been an unmitigated disaster for some time, and it wasn't like that in the previous administration. It was not. And my friends, I don't know if you've seen pictures, if you've seen the lines of migrants that are well illegal immigrants that are coming into different parts of this of this country. I don't know if you've seen I mean some of this, some of this just the amount of garbage and so

forth left by illegal immigrants passing through parts of this country. The amount I mean, I'm looking here at a border patrol chief a tweet and that says, in the past seventy two hours, they've apprehended over twenty six thousand people, about seventy four hundred goat away. They seize one hundred and sixty four pounds of marijuana. That's just in This is in three days eighty three pounds of meth, sixty six pounds of cocaine, eleven pounds of fentonel how much?

How many people would that kill? In and in and of itself, five pounds of heroin, twelve thousand dollars in cash, a firearm, Three sex offenders are wanted felling a gang member. And that's that's what we've stopped. You know, the left wants to brag. They'll say, well, we're doing some good things, We're stopping all this stuff. But it's I don't even like to explain it because it's so transparent. The problem here.

It's not as though Border Patrol has gotten more funding and more personnel to actually stop more people under this administration. It's that it's actually gotten weaker. And so when you see what they have stopped, the right way to look at this is to calculate. I can't realize that this is only a percentage of the whole. This doesn't mean that, you know, you can look at this and say that's great that they kept eighty three pounds of meth off the

street, and it is. That is good, but it's also an indicator that there was a lot more that got by. We're talking about statistics. It's not like we suddenly are stopping one hundred percent of this stuff. So when these numbers rise, it also means that other numbers rise. It's an unmitigated disaster. I mean, true disaster. And of course it's all time. I don't have time to get into the to the title forty two and just how how that is impacted by all or how that impacts all of this.

But suffice it to say that people crossing into this country illegally have information. They understand this administration. Remember there was there were individuals when they were first coming across when Biden was president that we're saying, we know that Biden is going to be easier on illegal aliens than Trump was. I mean, there were people that were saying that across that that were detained and so forth. They know, they understand. I mean, there's professionals that they hire

to help get people across the border. They know, they know what they're doing. It is an unmitigated disaster. It is very, very dangerous, and I've just got to stop and take a break out of time here. interested in doing as we travel the country on the tree tour. I'd like to see and talk to some of these these folks.

Myself, I talked to some folks last year. Sometimes it's a little difficult and complicated to organize that, but I do I think that that's this would be helpful, So open hearing your thoughts on that as well.
