Attention. You're listening to the Tod Huff radio show, America's home for Conservative not Bitter Talk radio. Be advised. The content of this program has been documented to prevent and even cure liberalism, and listening may cause you to lean to the right. Here's your Conservative but Not Bitter host, Todd Huff. Well, greetings, my friends, and welcome to America's home for Conservative not
Bitter Talk. I am your host, Todd Huff. As you know, emails should you want to be part of that conversation, Todd at Toddhoffshow dot com. Three one seven one zero twenty eight thirty is the number that you can text to be a part of that conversation as well. In fact, I might decide to set up a hot line here. Set up a hotline for you, those in the audience who are listening to this program, who have been listening to this program for some time, those of you who are
fans of the program. Of course that's synonymous. If you listen, you've got to be a fan. But I might want to set up a hot line to have reports of people that are trying to lift our slogan, our tagline, our positioning statement, conservative not bitter. I got a little bit of news on that today that one of you so graciously informed me about here over the past couple of days. But anyway, we will do that in
due course. Of course, it's a Monday, so of course we hit the ground running on Mondays because there's a lot to catch up on, especially especially as we just the time of year, right, I mean, we're in we're just what a year away? Now? We are one year away from the general election twenty twenty four, and I don't want to talk much about this, but since I just said this, I will tell you that Trump according to polling, and again this is we are so far out when
you look at polls right now. I mean, none of this stuff. We just got to be careful in thinking that this means anything substantively at this particular point in time. But I will tell you according to some polling that is out there. I'm looking here to Daily Mail article, daily mail dot com. Again, these things will all be in the stack stuff for today. Biden, excuse me. Trump now leads Biden in five of the six
key swing states. Five of the six key swing states Biden is behind President Trump, and those five states would include Nevada or Nevada's Trump would tell us Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He's ahead by margins of at least three points according to these polls, as many as ten percentage points ahead of Biden in these states, the one swing state that Trump is currently trailing Biden in. If you again, if you believe these polls, if you
think that there's there's something to be learned from this. It's not the end of the story or anything like that. It's not a prediction of the election, but it is a gauge of something we can we can ascertain something from this. Wisconsin is the only state where that's a swing state where Biden leads Trump, and he leads by a couple of points there. And this poll, by the way, was conducted by the New York Times and Siena College.
This wasn't necessarily put together by the most conservative and or Republicans in the world out there. This was a New York Times a Siena poll. So anyway, I just want to put that out there. As we are just now twelve months away from the general election, almost what virtually to the day right it's November, is Nomber November fifth. I think OZ doesn't know. I think it's November fifth, the next year anyway. So that's that's just
kind of the lay of the land. But I also want to mention too, Today is the day that Trump is actually going to be taking the stand. He's going to be taking the stand in the New York in the case that has been well, that is being waged against him. I guess you could say November fifth, next year. Yeah, November fifth, twenty twenty four. That was yesterday, my friends. We are three hundred and sixty four days away from election day officially just a year away, just inside of
that now. But Trump is going to be testifying taking the stand today. If everything holds to schedule and goes as planned, Trump is going to be testifying in this case that has been brought by the Attorney General Letitia James New York. He'll be taking the stand today. So again, buckle up for what's about to happen here. And this I mean, we have this going on. We have the trials plural, right, We've got different different cases, different states, Georgia, New York, a federal case in DC against
Trump. We have everything happening on the international stage. In fact, I got a SoundBite Hakim Jeffries, the House Minority thank you, thank goodness, the Minority Leader of the House, Hakim Jeffries out there finally acknowledging that the world is on fire, but blaming, of course, the Republicans for this. Got that SoundBite that I want to get to time permitting today. So we've got the world on fire, We've got domestic the weaponization of the Department
of Justice, domestic politics. Here, we've got Chris Christie, which is really where I want to start today. Chris Christie is at well, was at the Florida GOP Freedom Summit over the weekend, scolding members of the audience with his one to two percent of the polling out here, is still pretending to be a Republican, undoubtedly going to be. Did he raise his hand? I don't know. I don't watch the debates. I always, folks.
I have watched presidential debates for as long as I've really been old enough to do that, and I have not watched one of these yet. It is it is a side show right now, because Trump, of course is the main attraction. Trump, of course is the presumptive winner of the Republican or at least the front runner of the Republican presidential race. And he's not there, and it's just it's embarrassing. I've been through this. I don't want to talk about it. But Chris Christie is still I think, so
far as I know, is he in the race? I don't know is it Are any of them in the race besides Trump? I guess you could, you could ask it that way. But he's speaking and chastising, chastising a group of I guess you call on maga Republicans. I don't even know if that's true. It's just dis disheartened Republicans, people who are tired of what the moderates and what the wimpy conservatives, the wimpy version of the conservative, which of course is a lot when it comes to Washington, DC politicians.
But he's out there chastising those those folks at a speech at the Florida's GOP Freedom Summit over the weekend. And there's other things I want to get to as well, but let's just start there. Let's start with Chris Christy. I want to play this. This is a couple of minutes long, A couple of minutes long, Chris Christie is. He's booed when he takes takes the podium here, which is where we'll start, and he has an
exchange with the audience. He has an exchange with the audience. And I want to play this because I think it's I think there's some things that we can learn from this. We can see things that are demonstrated in this. There's an individual here with Chris Christie who at one point in time now he's
a New Jersey Republican. So a New Jersey Republican and a conservative from the heartland are the same, not the same type of politician, writer, or the same type of They don't particularly line up in every way issue by issue. So I knew, I've always known, I think who Chris Christie is. And there's a lot of things going back in time that I did like about Chris Christie. I remember he was running back in two thousand and he run in sixteen, He's run before. I just remember I remember listening to
him. I remember when he was governor and so forth he was. I mean, there were things about Chris Christie that I think we're good again, as good as they can get for that portion of America. That portion of the country that has been taken over by really at least the liberal Democrats and in some cases the ultra extreme radical leftist. But nonetheless I appreciated Chris Christie's
fighting style. Chris Christie was not one to back away from confrontation. Chris Christie was not one that I would have ever said was a weak need Republican,
someone who was afraid of his own shadow and so forth. But as I've said before, and as you know to be the case, there are two main problems with today's average elected Republican in the Senate, in the House of Representatives, and as presidential nominee presidential candidate, I should say, And those two problems are there either a too big of whimps to actually fight for principles and values, and the other is they don't really share or hold those
conservative principles and values. And I think Chris Christy falls in to the latter of those. Chris Christi is not a principled conservative. I don't hate the
guy. This isn't personal. I'm just kind of painting a picture here as to where the starting point is for many people who are attending this speech, those who are booing him at the beginning of this speech to give some background, Chris Christie, if you watch the Republican debates, or what's supposed to we're supposed to pretend it's an actual Republican debate with a bunch of people that are likely not going to be the candidate arguing with the guy or about a
guy that's not even on the debate stage. And Donald J. Trump, because he's got bigger things to worry about than a debate amongst people who really haven't even captured the attention of the American people, Trump is dominating these folks and pulling and so forth. Look, some of these folks may be really good for the future. But again, as I've stated clearly, as I wrote in last week's column, which by the way, you can go to
tot upshow dot com slash column and you can read that. You can sign up to get those for free to be the definitely in very very smart thing to do on this Monday. Those go out each Wednesday. But I laid out the case as to why the obvious choice for the Republican nominee. And I know some people are gonna just wail when I say this, but the obvious choice is still Trump. And I can say that without endorsing every single
tweet or anything like that. Just the idea of what we are up against, the reality of the problem coming to grips with actually who can solve the problem and that sort of thing. And there's a whole list of reasons. I kind of go through them in that column, which again you can get at totopshow dot com. It's totally free totopshow dot com slash column. So anyway, but Chris Christie is still running for president, and Chris Christie has
upset some people. He sounds more like a Democrat today on stage, whenever someone is actually paying attention to what he has to say, people are he sounds more like a Democrat attacking Trump than he sounds like the sorts of things that people who are well you can say Magga Republicans or even Trump voters.
Sounds more like he sounds more like a liberal Democrat than someone who's embracing the things that people who voted for Trump in twenty sixteen and even twenty twenty, the things that they eagerly desire, the things that they want to see happen in this great nation again. So he takes to the podium has met with Booze. I want you to listen to this. This is a couple minutes long, but I think this is quite illustrative. We'll talk about it.
I've got some things to point out about this, but I just want you to listen to this. This is again Chris Christy talking with the crowd of you know. Again, I don't know that it's maga Republicans. I think it could be, but it's also people that are sick of non or less conservative Republican candidates running for president. I think that these are people who are
tired. We see that the problem, and we're tired of people who don't have the correct mixture of conservative principles, or at least aligning properly with what a conservative would think and having the desire to fight for those principles when they see someone who they actually associate as being part of the problem because of that either lack of willingness to fight or the lack of true conservative principles. That's where these boozs come from. But I want you to hear this exchange because
I think it's quite illustrative. It tells us a lot about Chris Christy and what he thinks really about the Republican voter today. Here it is you hear the booze. He's standing at the podium, smiling, nodding. Yeah, yeah, there he goes. Well now it feels like home. Thank you all very much. Let me let me first snack the chairman and everyone here. Yep, look, still some chatter going on here, but he's got to address it. That feels he does. What a shock here for Trump.
I'm gonna fall over dead now. Look now, look, every one of those booze, every one of those cat calls, every one of those yells, will not keep it. Yes, sure will not solve one problem we face in this country. Will not solve and will not and and will not make this country better. Your anger, your anger sounds like anger against the truth is reprehensible. I think I heard one person clap there. I
heard quite a few booing. When you think about the problems, when you think about the problems that our country and this world is facing, when you think about that, this type of pettiness, this type of pettiness, is beneath, beneath the process of electing a president. And no one said he had to engage the audience, right, I get it, they're rowdy. I get it. And as people and as people watch today, as people watch today, if your arguments are so strong, if your arguments are so
great and mine are so bad, then just keep quiet. Let me make my awful arguments, and then you can just reject them out of hand. But the problem is the problem is the problem is you fear the truth. And the audience did you hear did you hear the laughing there at the end, they're being scolded by Chris Christy. The problem is he says that you fear the truth. He also used the line that I want to talk about I gotta a break here. Your anger, he says, against the truth
is reprehensible. Again, I just think, look, and I'm not condoning that the heckling or whatever. But at the same time, this is politics. At the same time, you've got to be able to put your big boy pants on and deal with this. I mean, he has to know that this is out there. What's he pulling at one percent or some two percent? I don't even know. People don't even know the guy is running. Nobody watches the debates. People think it's Trump's nomination, and I think
it clearly is here. He is, he's out here, has a choice to make. He can either just let the booze die out and get to his brilliant points, which he says he wants to share his ideas and for everyone to shut up and to that point, I think, okay, that's fine, then get to them, right, But to sit there or just I guess, to stand at the podium and expect everyone else in the audience to sit there as you, as you scold them, as you condemn them
for booze and cat calls as he puts it. That seems to me to be a little bit of beneath since he brought this up, not me, a little bit beneath the idea of running for president as well. Anyway, So I'm going to talk about this. I think there's some things that he's way off on on the average conservative voter, the average Republican voter here in this PRIMARYA. And I understand folks can be upset. Just let the guy talk, right, just let him talk. I get that. Part two,
we also need to just suck it up and deal with it. I mean, this is we are in, folks, We are in a critical point in this nation's history. We have real problems that need real solutions and people that are prepared to be principled leaders. And if you can't deal with this, I'm sorry, I just what are you doing? What do you do? You got much bigger problems to deal with then people booing you as some convention or whatever this thing is timeouts in order, my friends, more
to stay on the other side of the break. You're listening here to conservative not bitter talk. I am your host, the one, the only Todd Huff back in just a minute, Welcome back to my friends. Last segment, as you know, I played a clip from Chris Christy where he's kind of scolding, moderately berating some people that are booing in boo in the audience as he's speaking at a convention, a conference in Florida over the weekend, and he jumps the crowd. He tells the crew, you know, it's
interesting. You know, so many things run through my head. Number one, number one, here's a perfect opportunity, I think for Chris Christie. Now I understand, I understand that people have made their mind up. You know, there's a group of people that are don't really want to vote for Trump. And they're trying to decide from the people who are on that stage.
But then there's a group of people that have come to the conclusion, and I would say, the absolutely correct conclusion that Trump is going to be the nominee. The only thing they can stop this is something some sort of funny business with who knows something that a court rules something. That is, if something goes to you know, one of his trials has a verdict and who knows. I put nothing past these jokers to convict him or anything else.
But I'm talking something of that magnitude. If this is just straight politics, nobody on that stage, none of them have a remote chance of beating Donald J. Trump. And that I do not mean that to be disrespectful. There's a couple of these folks that I could never really support. Some of them. I think that I could some of them. I like things about them. It's not even about that. As I said, I wrote about this in the the latest column. Go to the website if you want
more details on what I'm talking about. So I don't want to make it about that today. I deliberately try not to talk about in detail what I write about, but a lot of times there's overlap, of course, but tatashow dot com slash column is where you can see what I think about that and sign up for the free email newsletters. You're there as well. But this comment that he makes, Chris Christy makes to this crowd, your anger against the truth is reprehensible. Now I've only seen this clip. I don't
know if something I mean, I've looked into this. Maybe there's something that I'm not aware of, maybe something else happened. But just the conclusions that he draws and the way that he responds is interesting to me. That is, to me, is not at all, not at all how someone who's trying to win votes should respond to a situation. I just I don't think
that that's the right way to do it. If people don't like you, if people are booing you, I understand you might have a massive hill to climb politically, but give them a reason to start taking steps towards you. This isn't it. Insulting them and telling them that their hatred of the truth is reprehensible is not how you get from point A to point B. It's just not how you do it. And if you heard in that clip, some people chuckled. Some people laughed, and it's because they think, what
is this guy talking about? The truth is And this is what I think was going through the minds of the folks who were agitated by Christy. Christy, honestly, in my opinion, maybe say a couple of things to him. If you feel like you got to show how tough of a tough guy you are, but beyond that, just get to the meat of your speech. Tell them why they're wrong, Explain why it is that you're the candidate.
But instead, this is what he resorted to at the same time, condemning them, criticizing them, scolding them for expressing their disapproval for the sorts of things that Chris Christie stands for. Represents the attacks that he's levied against Trump, the fact that he sounds more like a Democrat on the debate stage
in many instances than he sounds like a real Republican. He's actually doing the dirty work in the primaries of I mean, it's the attacks that he levies against Trump, and the primaries are going to be the same sorts of attack. Well, I say that Biden would try to levy against Trump, I'm not sure that Biden's note cards can be big enough with the big enough letters, so he could, you know, make sure he gets in all of his points and pictures and whatever else he needs on that thing. I'm kidding,
but I'm not. But the point is, I just that's not how you win hearts and minds, and that's not how you persuade. But to say that these people are at war with truth. These people are thinking, are you serious? The world is on fire? And I want to play a SoundBite from that or regarding that next sick segment, Representative Hakeem Jeffries,
Democrat from the state of New York. He's out there complaining that the world is on fire, blaming the Republicans for the world being on fire, blaming the Republicans for not helping to solve the world being on fire, when the truth is the world is on fire. And again, I don't want to say everything is the fault of members of Congress or the president. That is overstating it. That's not fair. Even though these folks, I mean,
they go scors to Earth, There's no doubt about it. They go scors to earth on this country, on the constitution, on election integrity, on all these things, and they're not but they're not to blame for everything, but they're to blame for a significant significant portion of what we're dealing with. And so maybe, mister Christy, maybe maybe you should understand that they're not
booing. They don't They're not booing because you're speaking the truth, and they're they have such a strong hatred for the truth that they don't want you to speak. They're tired of what politicians who say and believe the things that Chris Christie has said and believed. They're tired of what those folks have done to this country. They're tired of people who talk about fixing problems when they get
to white d C and never actually doing it. They're tired of people campaigning and fundraising on one thing, but then going to d C and doing quite another. They're tired of it. They're tired of wars erupting. They're tired of seeing our weaponry end up in the hands of terrorists, being left behind by President Biden. They're tired of it. They're tired of open borders. They're tired of hearing about all the security threats we face because of open borders,
because the world has been allowed to burn out of control. And I'm not saying that all of these problems could have been stopped by the president of the United States, but I am saying that some of them could have, and if they couldn't have been completely stopped, they could have at least been mitigated tremendously, from the war in Ukraine, to the war in Israel, to the open borders we face, to the inflationary disaster we've had in this
country for the past twelve months. It's getting better, but by better we mean simply return to slightly higher than normal. We're not. It's crazy. There's no measurable I've said this before, I will say it again. There is no measurable, objective thing that's happened in Washington, d C. That is demonstrably better with Biden being president, with the Democrats being in charge of Congress than before. It is noticeably worse, much much, much worse.
And maybe, mister Christy, maybe that's what they're booing. Maybe they're booing the fact that you are standing firmly in opposition to Trump, even though much of what Trump did as president helped this country out tremendously. How tone deaf
and blind to reality. Must someone be to not recognize that the years between twenty sixteen and twenty twenty, twenty seventeen to twenty twenty were noticeably better by tremendous degrees of magnitude than have been years twenty twenty or twenty twenty one through soon to be twenty twenty three. This is an obvious thing to anyone who's paying attention. Maybe mister Christy, that's really what they're doing. They're booing
the traditional politician. They're booing the people that pooh pooh what Donald J. Trump did as president when this country was infinitely better off in every conceivable way. Timeouts in order. When I get back, play a SoundBite from Hakeem Jeffries, representative from the state of New York, complaining that the world is on fire of my friends. But yes, he blames, of course anybody, but the folks who are the real culprits are quick. Time out.

So I mentioned before the break that I want I want to set this up.
Mentioned before the break that Representative Hakeem Jeffries he is the House Minority Leader. He's Democrat, he would be he would be the Speaker of the House if Heaven forbid, the Democrats win control of Congress. I mean, unless something changes, that's who. That's who their their new leader is. So but he's out here complaining. He's complaining that the world is on fire, and he's blaming the Republican Party. He's blaming Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republicans
in the House of Representatives for I think he says, playing games. I'll play this SoundBite on the other side of the break. But a lot of this, a lot of what he's talking about, is again I think, disconnected from reality, disconnected from what the average American voter wants. The average American voter knows that the things that need to happen in Congress are well in our federal government at all levels, at all levels inside the politician's offices.
We need to have a lot less corruption, a lot more concern for the constitution. We need a lot more liberty, a lot less government solution, and we need an overhaul of the way we're doing everything. We need draft cuts across the board. At this point, my friends, that is exactly how you would run your personal budget. That is exactly how you would run a business. You would make cuts across the board. It would sting a
little bit. Politicians act as though if they cut a project, and by cutting a project, in many cases I just mean or what they would mean. What they mean is they don't want to cut the rate of growth. They build in a percentage of how much more we're going to spend on it next year, and let's just say, for kicks and giggles, it's five percent. If you say I just want to slow the growth of the program
to two percent, you don't really cut anything. Instead of growing at five percent the amount of spending from year to year, instead of spending five percent more the next year you only want to spend two percent more, they will accuse you of cutting spending for the program. It's virtually impossible to get real cuts on any because we've got a bunch of professional deceivers who have no interest in cutting the size and the scope of government. They want to pour the
coals on this thing. They've got the boot on the throat of the American taxpayer, on the American citizen. They've about broken this thing in every conceivable way. And of course they have the perfect solution for when it does break, at least they want you to think they do, which is more government and more control, more socialism, less freedom, more government, less individual
choice and opportunity. And they have no problem presenting that, and they will present that with the straight face, even though, my friends, even though those things are specifically to blame for the problems we face today. Too much government, too little liberty, too little time for hearing me this break, my friends, timeouts in order sit tight. You're listening to conservative not better talk. We'll play the SoundBite on the other side of the break of Hakeem
Jefferies blaming their Republicans back here in just a minute. Welcome back, my friends. So before the break, I shared with you that King Jeffries again the Senate, excuse me, the House Minority leader in the House of Representatives. He is upset that the world is on fire. By the way, I am too, I'm upset that the world is on fire. I just actually know who to blame for this. Hakeem Jeffries wants to blame the Republicans for this. And I'll play this right now. This is a King Jeffries
standing at the podium in the House of Representatives. This was I think Friday, Hakeem Jeffries basically trying to this is how the game is played, by the way, this is how the game is played when Democrats win control of the House, the Senate, and the White House. It's what Obama said, which is basically, hey, you lost, you lost the elections. Elections have consequences, shut your mouth, sit down, and just let us
run things. When Republicans are in control, suddenly we hear about the importance of reaching across the aisle and making sure that we you know, just keep in mind all of the various voices and how important by partisanship is. Those things matter only when Democrats do not have complete control. And in that vein, I want you to listen to what Hakeem Jeffrey says with a straight face as to who is responsible for the world being on fire. The time for
gamesmanship is over. What do my Republican colleagues not get about that the world is on fire? Sure is. We have real challenges here in America and abroad as we're trying to keep the great American middle class dream a lot. Give me a break for people all across the land. And it's my hope that my Republican colleagues, who only represent barely half of one third spit it out of the federal government, will come to the conclusion that the only way
forward is to find bipartisan common ground. There we go. I knew we'd get to it. Well, that was convoluted. The Republican Party, who only controls one half of one third of the federal government, only represents I think he said, that's not how that works, mister Jeffries. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Supreme Court is not designed to be representative of anyone the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is supposed to
interpret the Constitution. That's what the Supreme Court is supposed to do. It's to interpret the Constitution and federal law and apply it to individual cases. They're not representing anyone. If they represented anyone, I spose you could say the Supreme Court represented the Constitution of the United States of America, federal law, and how it how it fits together with the Constitution of the United States of
America. The president is of course elected elected through the electoral College. Electors are assigned proportionally, meaning well, that's a whole other thing. The electoral college, with the left hates as well. But why does Joe Biden? His math is off? First of all, you shouldn't count the Supreme Court. Second of all, should you not count the votes that were cast for Trump against the executive branch you talk about, Biden barely has half half of
one half. However, Hakim Jefferies wants to frame this year. It's just silly the way that this is done, silly with how things are done here. But the idea that Republicans are holding up solving these problems is utterly laughable. Is utterly insane, is what it is. Republicans didn't cause these I've said before America, and I stand by it. American weakness is the true provocateur of those who hate this country. If you want to see America's enemies
on the rampage, then project weakness around the world. Case in point, we have a weak president. We have a co opted president, I would say, allegedly because of how he has allegedly sold his soul and his family's soul for whatever money he could get, which we're just scratching the surface on this. When the real numbers come in and the evidence, I think it's
going to hit super hard to people who care and who pay attention. But the idea, the idea that we caused this, that Trump caused this, that Mike Johnson caused this, that Jim Jordan caused this is utterly false, absolutely false. Inflation caused by lovers of big government, open borders caused by the president sitting President Joseph Robin at Biden, President Bribery of the United States. He's the one responsible for the open border aggression in Ukraine is because we
did not have a strong commander in chief, at least in part. What's happened in Israel is at least in part, at least in part because there's an opportunity because of a vacuum created by a president that projects weakness. Don't lecture us, mister Jeffries on the Republican's role for the fire around the world. Look no further than your very own political party. Timeout is in order, my friends, sit tight back in just a minute. Welcome back to
my friends. I gotta do this really quickly. So on over the weekend, or maybe late last week, I got an email from one of one of you telling me that you heard our tagline being used by a representative from the Knoxville, Tennessee area named Representative Birchette. He was on with Steve Bannon on the War Room. My friends, you don't realize how cutting edge you are here listening to the conservative not bitter, actual conservative, not better talk.
I want you to listen to this really quickly. This is Representative birchett talking to Steve Bannon using our tagline, my friends, our slogan. Listen to this here it is you should become a big media star tim CNN or MS. I said, there's Birchette. Man, look at that guy. He's I'm a very big star with CNN. I don't know. Yeah, I toltally, I'm conservative. I'm just not bitter about it. So somehow they that's where all right? So there you go. So he's conservative,
got it wrong though, it's not conservative, but not better. It's conservative, not better. It's conservative, not better. Anyway, I thought you'd like to hear that. It's important to know that you are on the cutting edge, and it's also you know what, maybe what we should do is I thought about this, seems like the appropriate thing to do is to basically, I guess, create a hotline. Create a hotline to let us know who else is doing this. I got to make sure that we're defining conservative,
not bitter. I can't leave this up to other folks, my friends, this is incredibly important, but hey, we're here to help all. We can have a great day, my friends. STG
