Here's your conservative but not bitter host, Tod Huff.

Speaker 2

Agreading is my friends, and welcome to this hour of the Todd Huff Show, America's home for conservative not bitter talk. I am your host, the one, the only, the benevolent dictator behind the microphone. Todd Huff, Email Todd at totofshow dot com. Thoughts, questions, feedback, You know the routine. Always be sure to include the appropriate amount of adoration and praise, which I must warn you is significantly higher than you

might deem necessary and appropriate. It's good to be here, and it is a breath of fresh air for sure, after witnessing what we've witnessed here well for some time in politics. But again, the hatred for Trump that was on display front and center during this convention was just really more than could be fully understood. And we knew there was going to be a lot, but it was off the charts. It really was so so I want

to talk a little bit about this convention. If you want to hear some of my other thoughts, I shared those in a previous hour, but I kind of want to pick up with that and get into other things of the day, including our FK Junior apparently dropping out of the race according to reports, and presumably ostensibly Endorsingident Trump. That could be the latest, I guess, major bit of news in this campaign that has all sorts of twists

and turns. So that's where we're headed today, my friends, before we get really rocking and rolling, are you tired of dry and irritated skin. I know you're tired of big woke corporations, but this is the time right now, especially as we I mean, look, we're going headlong into this campaign. We've been subjected to wokeism from every possible angle.

We've had our dollars taken from corporations that we trusted, maybe we shouldn't have, but those those funds were then used to support candidates and causes that were antithetical to who we are, what we believe, And so the time has come to support businesses that are truly patriotic, which, by the way, I want to get into this. The Democrats suddenly have found their patriotic bone, and I want

to talk about that. They tried chan more chance of USA in this convention than I can remember Democrats channing in the past fifty years. But anyway, it is time to support patriotic businesses, patriotic brands, things that aren't woke, my friends, companies that aren't woke companies like ofp Farms. This is a family owned, god fearing company that creates natural,

small batch bath and body products. These are quality products, my friends, quality products, and they also create world famous gift sets, gift sets that you can that you can get for yourself, you can send out as a birthday gift, you can send out for gee, what holidays are coming up. I mean, of course we've got Christmas down the road, but you know there might be birthdays, anniversaries. These are

well put together gift sets. The packaging is phenomenal. They've got their make America Great Again line that they use profits from that to support the make America Make America Great Again moved movement. Support American business, American made products. Ditch the woke brands, Ditch these big, well problematic corporations. And feel the difference using products that are actually good, that have ingredients that you can pronounce. Visit o fp o fpfarms dot com. Again, that's o fpfarmswi an s

dot comfpfarms dot com. He's my name, Todd. You're gonna say fifteen percent off at checkout o fpfarms dot com. All right, So a couple things. I want to get to number one. Number one. This this convention. This convention, my friends, is the Democrat convention of course that we that we just passed them, they just finished. I find it to be the most meaningless. The wokest I have to consult with Kamala is that how I say that? Is it the wokest? Is it? Just? Is it more woke? Whatever?

It is the most meaningless, wokeust, fake patriotic convention that I have ever witnessed. And I've watched these since the I think ninety two was probably the first time I had tuned in and watched a convention. I might have seen part of eighty eight now that if I really think hard about it, but I've watched these for a while. This was the most meaningless. And look, I know they always talk in platitudes. I know that this is designed. I mean, this is what you get from these things.

It's all about emotion, enthusiasm and everything. But normally they talk about something of substance they didn't hear, and normally the patriot patriotism doesn't feel forced. It is. It was forced in this thing in this convention. By the way, Thursday night, speaking about patriotism, the Chicks formerly known as the Dixie Chicks, they took to these stage to sing the national anthem. I'm a fan of the national I

love the national anthem. I'm I'm I do. Friends. We we're the people I make my kids stand up when it's being played on the television. When we hear it, we stand up. And I heard it, and we stood up. In fact, one of my daughters was in the bedroom sitting on her bed crochet and I looked at her and I kind of gave her the snap snap, stand up sort of thing, and she did and she came out and we stood there, hands over our hearts. This is a true story. I mean, we do this. And

the rendition of the anthem was was awful. This is one of the worst. I mean, you always have your examples of renditions of the of the anthem. Who was the girl that just sang in an Astros game? Do you remember that some country country singer that was clearly worse than this? But this was really really bad. But it was good to hear. I mean, I don't know do they normally do this? You remember the convention years ago when they either they booed God at the Democrat

convention or something along. I have to look when we're talking two thousand and eight, maybe two thousand and four. Anyway, So this it was good to hear them suddenly try to find their their patriot bone here because they hate this country. I mean, listen to the way that they talk about this country on a regular basis. I mean, this country in their minds is racist, it's homophobic, it's sexist,

it's bigoted, it's xenophobic, it's all of these things. America is the problem in the minds of these leftists around the world. Russia used to call these folks to blame America first crowd. But the truth is they hate this country. The truth is if this country was anything close to how they described it, nobody would want to come here, legally or illegally. I mean, listen to the elon Omars, listen to the Rashida to Leeds tell me that they love this country. My friends, with a straight face. I

don't think it can be done. But yet we heard chance of Usa USA erupts several times during this convention. I'll tell you this. There's a couple of ways to look at this, but I choose to look at it this way. I think it's good news that they're channing this, even though I think most of the people in that crowd probably never chanted USA in their lives. I'm not

going to say that across the board. I was raised in a Union Democrat household, and we were raised to be incredibly patriotic, but we weren't raised by ultra leftists and haters of America, and that's a big portion of today's Democrat Party. So I think for a lot of those folks, channing USA is probably was one of the last things they thought they would ever be doing. But yet they were. And so I choose to look at this in an optimistic sort of way. I think that

means that patriotism has has one which is good. Just like by the way, just like the issue of securing the border has won right the left has fought against securing the border for decades now, and candidly there's been some country club Republicans that have been part of the problem too, But by and large, this problem has been allowed to exist and grow because of Democrats, not exclusively, but mostly so. But they lost on they lost the argument.

Now they're still pretending to do things that they're really not doing so that they don't have to pay political consequences, because who can really know what's going on at the border. When you live in say Indiana or New Jersey or Kansas or whatever, you don't know what's going on at

the border. You're being told by the media that there's been a drop in border crossings by fifty percent or whatever whatever bit of information they're deciding to share at the moment, And what are you supposed to do about it? I mean, your instincts can say that doesn't sound right, but I mean, how do I argue that and it's dropped ten percent or it's increased thirty percent. I can't

make that argument because I'm not down there. I'm relying upon people that are professional deceivers to give me information, which is an impossible scenario. But regardless of the details. Hearing these democrats chant Usa USA, to me, is a

sign that patriotism is winning. In fact, they keep calling people on the right Christian nationalists, and they've attacked that concept of nationalism, which I mean depending upon what you mean by when you say Christian nationalism, I mean it could either be a good thing or a terrible thing. If you mean Christian nationalism that wants to establish a

theocracy in America, that's not a good thing. But if you mean someone who loves their country, puts America first and believes in God, I think that's a darn good thing. So but hearing chance of USA USA has proven well to me, it proves it's i should say evidence. It's evidence that America is becoming patriotic. And there's they've stopped

fighting it. They're trying to co opt the movement. These democrats, by the way, haven't chanted USA in the past twenty five years, but yet they were doing it at the convention last night on Thursday. Actually they did it throughout the convention. It reminds me too of one of the last speakers before Kamala took the stage. I'm not going

to speak much about this. I'm not going to speak much about this because I think he's a total What word do I want to I don't want to make anything personal, although I do think that this guy is not a good guy. Adam Kinsinger. Adam Kinsinger took to the stage, and of course, she claims to be a conservative. He claims that the Republican Party has lost its way. Meanwhile, he's on the stage endorsing a radical leftist, telling me,

telling us that conservatives should join him. My friends, conservatives, hear me say this. You may decide. I hope you don't, but you may decide to support Kamala. You're right to do that. I think it's wrong. I think it's insane. I think it's crazy. I think it's dangerous. I hope that you can have since talked in to you. However, you can cast your ballot for whoever. But I will tell you this, the ability to call oneself a conservative and vote for Kamala over Donald Trump is not a

compatible intellectual position to take. That is intellectual dishonesty to the nth degree. Those two things are not compatible one hundred percent. Look, I'm a guy that understands nuance and different I try to be graceful with people, But there are some things that are not compatible. Calling yourself a conservative and voting for Kamala Harris over Trump is not compatible. In the slightest, Adam Kinsinger doesn't know what he's talking about. He did a whole lot of projecting when he was

on the screen. In fact, he made a comment about Trump being a little man, and it was just ironic listening to it come from his mouth, especially when I realize and I remember the phony, fake tears that were coming from Adam Kinsinger's face when he was on the January sixth Commission. I mean just that this entire dog and ponies showed the entire charade, the entire attempt to deceive the American people, to keep footage hidden from January sixth. They were all part of that, to lose and destroy

records of testimony from January sixth and information. Remember, these are the clowns and jokers that did that Kensinger. Kensinger and Liz Channing were the two Republicans that were on that committee, the only two that the Left allowed to be on there, and they were basically Democrats who pretended who called themselves Republicans. And so he spoke last night. He says he's voting for Kamala because he's putting country first,

to which I believe. I said, get out of town when I heard him say that, in what way is putting country first? In what way does that equate to a vote for Kamala? Harris, I need someone to explain this to me. And the truth is I need someone to explain it to me because it's unexplainable. There is no way to explain this. He also said that democracy knows no party, which I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. What does that mean? Democracy knows no party?

You know, words mean things. And if you're saying I'm voting to save our democracy, I mean democracy. Even if I grant that, you know, they're they're they're just using this, of course as as a cliche and too to make it sound like we're finding for the existence, the survival, the very existence of our country. But this democracy is not, of course what we have. But even if we we grant it and that and we accept that democracy is on the ballot, what does it mean to say it

knows no party. Democracy is when the people vote for well, when all the people cast their votes, when people actually have a voice. So what does it mean to say democracy has no part, knows no party. I mean, it's it's again these these cliches and sayings. You know, voting for anybody would be exercising an exercise in democracy the way that they're talking about this. So what is he really even saying when he says democracy knows no party. They just want to throw these words around and want

to give themselves some political cover. They want to try to somehow bring people along with them to doing the same stupidity. But I find it disgusting, and I find Adam Kinsinger honestly, of all the people, you know, I guess I know what I'm getting with Bernie Sanders. I know it's going to be crazy. I think Bernie might believe half of it, some of it, most of it, I don't know. Kinsinger to me is a hack. I find him to be a one hundred percent clown, and

I find this entire thing disgusting and intellectually dishonest. I really do. He can disagree. I don't care if he disagrees with policy. I don't care that he hates Trump. But he's part of the problem. In fact, I would say I would say that he is. He is the face in a lot of ways of what's wrong on the Republican side of the isle. He's engaged in his own version of political theater, and it was very bad. Going back to the January sixth Commission and so forth.

This guy's part and parcel of the problem here. B EDI's out there trying to get us to believe that he's trying to save our democracy, save us from Trump and all that. And of course he's a veteran, right he was a pilot. And again this goes in, this leads back to Chance of USA. They had a bunch of Democrats who were in Congress stand on stage who were veterans. By the way, I commend your service, no matter your party. I appreciate your service, no matter your Democrat, Republican,

Green Party, what have you. I commend you for that, We thank you for that. That does not qualify you in and of itself for being a candidate for office. Clearly, I mean some of these people are out absolutely absolutely dangerous. And by the way, I would say this too. I don't know if i've I may have shared this, I share this in conversations, but I was I did not

serve in the military. I tried, I got. I went through the process in the Actually I started in ninety six, my senior year of high school, and then it took a little bit longer, so it didn't actually come to complete fruition until ninety seven. It would have been technically at the end or in the middle of my freshman year at Butler, which is where I went to school. I was in the process of applying for commission to the military academies, and I was accepted to two of them.

Got my nomination Congressman John Myers, I got a nomination from Senator Dan Coates, went through that process, was accepted to the United States Naval Academy and to West Point. I did not get into the Air Force Academy, so I guess I wasn't good enough for that. But I did get into well, I got accepted to, and I actually spent the night at the at Annapolis at the United States Naval Academy and was looking at going there. They were recruiting me to play football and all of that,

and I just I enjoyed my opportunity. But I was medically disqualified, believe it or not, for sleep walking. Back in nineteen ninety seven. In fact, I remember getting that notice and then I tried to apply for a waiver. I was it was non waverable in nineteen ninety seven, and so far as I know, it still is today. I'm not sure. But the bottom line is there's a difference. There's a difference between especially as I've gotten older, I know this. You know, the officer types who go through

the academy versus the enlisted soldier. There can be a disconnect as far as you know political ideologies are concerned, because honestly, when you go through these academies, I mean, some of these folks are I mean there's been some leftists takeover parts of these higher parts of uh, you know, these officer trainings and all of these, I mean, all the DEI initiatives, all the political nonsense and bs hits

there first. And so a lot of these folks who are in the military and on the left, I would say proportionately, they're more likely to have gone through something like that officer training academy versus enlisting. I don't mean that as I just mean the way that it's you know, what's taught and what's what's thrust and forced upon members of the military. It could be could be different depending

upon how you go into the military. You know, when I think of the military and I think of the people that I know, they're some of the most conservative people I know. But then when I think of the people who have gone in through this, say the academy, sometimes not always, there's certainly conservatives there as well, but there's often there's a higher likelihood that their leftists. But the left is trying to co opt this movement and

chant Usa USA. And I hope the left decides to wake up and love this country, but I happen to believe that that's not the case. So going to stop the discussion about that. I do want to talk a little bit though, about a concept that came up during this convention, freedom from versus freedom to This is stuff that I remember talking about in college. The Left is trying to, I think, do a little bit of bait and switch. Suddenly they care about freedom, they say, but

they mean something different when it comes to freedom. I want to get to that in the next segment. My friends, if you smoke, if you vape, if you chew tobacco, Nick Knack Naturals is here to help you crush your vice.

They've created a mint. It's a nicotine mint. This is not for you if you do not use nicotine products, but if you do, if you do smoke and you're tired of the smoke, the smell, if you if you vape and are tired of, you know, having to take the brakes and have the have the all the things that come along with vaping, all the equipment and the packets and all this stuff. Or you're tired of chewing, you're tired of the spit the spit cans, You're tired

of the slimy pouches, whatever the case may be. Nicknack Naturals has created a naturally better and well naturally better alternatives to the messiness that comes from those other forms of nicotine. So nicknack dot com is where you can go and I see nac nicknack dot com promo code Todd will save you fifteen percent nick neck dot com promo code Todd Quick time out. When we come back, we're gonna talk a little bit about freedom and a little bit about the differences in how the Democrats talked

about it versus Republicans. We'll do that on the other side of the brick, my friends, sit tight back in just a minute, come back to my friends, you'll notice. And if you watch the conventions, well the Democratic Democratic National Convention in particular, which is where what we're talking about here today, you would have seen this conversation about about freedom. Now, if you listen to this show, if you listen to conservatives, if you listen to libertarians, a

common theme is is freedom. If you read the Founding documents, if you if you are to read the Federalist papers, I mean these are liberty, liberty, freedom, or as Kamala would say, fweedom. She was in her stroller. I remember that story. Her mom asked her, what do you want, Kamala? I just want fweedom. Oh my goodness. So but freedom is really the purpose, one of the core purposes of government is to protect the freedom, the liberty of people in the country. That's why we have the Bill of Rights.

This is important to understand. Now, I've said before and I stand by this, by the way, that the I'm not talking Republican democrats, I'm saying conservatives limited government types. There is a direct correlation between one's love and respect and preference for freedom and liberty and one's preference for the size and scope of government. The bigger the government, the smaller the liberty there it can be no other way. My friend's government is forced. I don't know. Some of

you certainly have, maybe some of you haven't. A guy that I have a ton of respect for his name is John Stossel. I don't know what how you would even define John Stossel. He's still a I guess he's still like an investigative reporter type. But he provides a lot of good information and he he's said pretty clearly, and he's right. Government is force. That is what government is. Force is not a good thing. Force is something that

is rarely on the right. If you find yourself using force, you're finding yourself on the wrong side of the equation. The only exception to that is if you are trying to defend yourself, your life, liberty, property. You know, that is that is when force is necessary. So you know, there's a time there are just wars, right, but there's a lot of wars that are not just as well. Turns out the specifics turned, you know, make a have a lot to say about whether or not is just

and good. That's why self defense is different from murder. In fact, if you look up the definition of murder. In fact, I'm always intrigued by this. When the left I'm for example, I am I'm in well, I want to say favor of it sounds a little bit brutal, but I am someone who supports the idea of capital punishment. I don't cheer about it. I don't like to have

to use it. But I think that there are some crimes that you know you deserve it is necessary to the payment for that crime should be should be your life. It shouldn't be used. I mean for most crimes. I'm not suggesting that, but I mean I think murdering someone is automatically a capital offense. That's what I think. And maybe other crimes I don't know, but though clearly that's that's the easy one. And but murder is not the

same thing. In fact, In fact, I remember in school people talking about, you know, how can you be pro life and not in favor of abortion, but you're in favor of capital capital crimes. In fact, a lot of our Catholic friends would find themselves in this situation. God's created life and it should not be taken by humans.

I don't I respect that. But there's a major, major difference between taking the life of an unborn child versus taking the life of someone who's created an absolute act of evil against someone else, and that is that the child is not guilty of anything. The child there is no justification. And so if you look at the word and murder, in fact, even if you look at the in the Ten Commandments, people will cite. And I remember being marvel I remember marveling at this at college, back

in my days at American University. I remember people saying, well, Todd, the Bible says thou shall not kill, technically a more accurate description of the Ten Commandments as thou shall not murder. But even if you don't go along with that, that's in Exodus chapter twenty. If you flipped Exodus twenty one, there are a whole litany of explanations or examples of when someone someone's actions warrant them being guilty of committing well of being I guess eligible if that's the word

of a capital punishment, their actions justify capital punishment. And there's a whole bunch of examples. And I remember saying to my classmates, you know, look, I'm not asking you to go to another part of the Bible. You brought the Bible into this and you say, Todd, the Bible says THO shall not kill I, or yeah, thou shall not kill I say, it's actually better interpreted thou shall not murder. But besides that, let's just put that aside

for the moment. You flip the page and if actually in my Bible time it was on the left side of the Bible, I just turned my head to the right. And then there's a whole litany of examples, the whole list of examples of when capital punishment was biblically called for in the Book of Exodus. And I said, how do you It's not a different book, it's not a different author, it's not a different time frame. There's no other additional context. It's the next chapter over. You turn

your head, you don't have to turn the page. And there are examples of using of when capital punishment can be applied should be applied biblically. Now we can debate that in today's society. I'm just saying that there are differences, and that these differences turn out to make a pretty I mean, the gap can be enormous at some point. Well, another area that this happens in is this concept of freedom.

Concept of freedom. And so if you look at the Bill of Rights, if you think about and study freedom, what does it really mean when we say that God created us to be free? Right, that God created us with certain unailenable rights. Among those are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Speaker 1

Right.

Speaker 2

And so we have this we have a need to have a society where a government is instituted to do some basic things, right, to protect its citizens from foreign armies and foreign adversaries from threats outside, but also to create a system whereby you protect the liberties and rights and to the best of your ability, the lives and you know, the prosperity of the people on the inside. Right,

you can't control every circumstance. You can't always prevent someone from doing something bad or egregious or wicked or evil, but you can do things to deal with the people that behave that way, And so the idea has traditionally been, in fact, if you read the Bill of Rights, we are free to do things right. We are free to as symbol, we are free to hat will. If you're

even if you're a citizen journalist. You have the freedom to express your ideas and opinions, right to report on things, to shine light on what's happening within within your government. You are free to say whatever it is that you want to say, even if it's something that's unpopular. You are free to live your life as you see fit. You are free to keep and bear arms. You are free to be secure in your personal you know, in your own private property. You you, you are. You could

say free from government interfering there. So now we're getting into the free from But I think you could say that maybe a couple of different ways. But the Left, when they talk about freedom, they start using they rely heavily on freedom from so they'll start saying things, Zich, you should be free from the risk of poverty. Now wait, then that sounds great. I would I would love to have a society. I guess as I think about this,

I don't even know. I mean, it's it's hard to say because because sometimes the lessons learned require us to have difficulties. I can speak from personal experiences. Sometimes was at C. S. Lewis who said God whispers to us in our and our successes, but screams to us and our pain. I mean something like that, pain gets our attention.

And so if we understand I'm not saying that, you know, I want people to suffer, but if you take away all ability to to have loss or to suffer difficulties, you're insulating yourself from truly learning how to really prosper. So some of this is necessary, but it also sounds good to say, woll, it'd be nice if people didn't have to struggle, But what does that really mean? What are they free from? Is that really what this concept of freedom is about. It's what the left wants you

to believe it about. Anyway, gotta take a break. If you're looking for natural health supplements, my friends, look no further than z Stack. Z Stack is a trusted brand that's formulated by doctor Zealinko. They use clinically proven ingredients. It's manufactured here in America. Quick time out is in order. My friends,

you're listening to conservative not bitter talk. I'm your host, Tod Huff back in a minute, Welcome back to my friends. Talking about freedom too versus freedom from which is something that came up in the Democratic National Convention. Anytime the left wants to talk about freedom, they have to trick us or change definitions because they don't believe in that. They don't believe in that. They believe in a big government that well, that comes in and makes decisions for us.

They don't like the decisions that we make. They don't like the fact that we have them. They think that they're smarter than us. They do. They think that they're better and smarter and more qualified, and so therefore therefore they are in their minds completely justified in doing whatever they need to do to well, to intervene in our lives and so, but they also understand that freedom is very, very popular. They know that. I don't know if they know this, but we are created by God to be free.

We're created by God to be free people, to have our own thoughts and to be able to exercise that liberty. And so they're trying to say, Okay, we've tried to co opt to the patriotic movement, kind of redefine what it means to be patriotic. Let's also redefine subtly. This is what they do. They do this with words all

the time. They did this with the recession. We actually went into a recession in Joe Biden's turn, but they told us, no, that's you know, that's not really the right definition of recession, when it clearly was two consecutive quarters with negative GDP growth. That is the definition of a recession. But they didn't want to admit that because they didn't want to have the headlines that said we're in a recession, and so they redefined it. They redefined, well,

in some cases they've stopped defining. They didn't redefine what woman was. They stopped giving it any definition. In fact, ask any woke person that is a trans What do you want to say a supporter, a promoter of this idea of transgenderism, Ask them what a woman is and they will say they will say, you've seen Matt Walsh's documentary on what is a woman? He's got another one coming out now, am I racist? Which that's another story for another day. But he says, what is a woman?

He asks these people who are highly educated, right, they teach this stuff at college, university, colleges and universities. What is a woman? A woman is someone who identifies as a woman. Okay, well what are they identifying as? What does it mean? What does the term mean? It's someone who identifies as a woman. I mean these are literal conversations. So they either redefine or play these make belief games of acting like they're giving definitions for words when a fact,

in reality, they're not. So that's what they're doing here with this concept of freedom, trying to say, well, you should be free from you should be free from gun violence, and of course we should do what we can to obviously protect and to eliminate that. They think that people should be free from poverty. Of course, I would love to have a society where that's the case. But what

does that really mean? How do we I mean, there are some things living in this fallen world that we have that we don't have the magical ability to just snap our fingers and fix. And some of these things are incredibly arbitrary, impossible to difficult or impossible to define, difficult to understand and measure. Who's going to be deciding what the balance is? It's just not the way that

life was designed to work. Of course, we should strive for these things you should be free from, they would say, becoming bankrupt because of medical debt. But what are all these things saying if you then take it to the conclusion,

how do you get to that point? Right? I think that some of these things are actually good objectives to strive for, But to say that it's a right to say that it's what the true definition of freedom is and then say that you're going to then force other people to pay the bill, or you're going to take from other people that you believe, for whatever reason, should be on the hook for solving problem X, Y or Z. Suddenly you've got a distorted view of what freedom is.

If your freedom from something requires that you take away someone else's freedom to do something you don't have freedom, and that's what the left ultimately has, and that's what the left ultimately wants. The left, once controlled, they want to do They want to get that control and power. However they have to do it, they really don't care.

It's the Seinfeld Newman strategy. Whatever it takes, as long as it takes them, So long as it takes in the case of Trump, takes Trump out of the White House, in the case of freedom, as long as it takes away freedom and empowers them, they are totally cool with that. So that's what the left is talking about. It's a

distortion of what real freedom is. It doesn't mean that all these things they want people to be free from are bad to shoot for as a culture in society, but to say that it's a freedom and to imply that it's a right that should be granted by government becomes a very, very tricky and even dangerous thing in some cases.
