Episode description

Donald Trump is awaiting the decision of the jury to decide his fate in the hush money trial. On Truth Social, Trump said, “Kangaroo court! A corrupt and conflicted judge. Reliance on counsel (advice of counsel) not allowed by Merchan, a first. His rulings, on a case that should, according to all legal scholars and experts, never have been brought, have made this a Biden pushed witch hunt. There was no crime, except for the bum that got caught stealing from me! In God we trust!”

All right, So, absolute bedlam, pandemonium, chaos is ensuing now that the jury is deliberating. Trump kind of cut loose on social

media as the jury went to deliberations. As he was they were preparing for that, he posted this to truth social earlier this week, says this kangaroo court. This is all in caps, as Trump often does. Kangaroo Court a corrupt and conflicted judge reliance on counsel, advice of counsel not allowed by mercann A. First, his rulings on a case that should, according to all legal scholars and experts, never have been brought, have made this a

Biden pushed witch hunt. There was no crime except for the bum that got caught stealing from me, reverencing Michael Cohen. Oh goodness in God we trust. That's what he put on a truth social post. I thought there was a second one that I read. Maybe I saw that somewhere else, But I mean, look, this is where we are, folks. I said

this in a I said this in a previous hour of this program. I mean this, at the risk of sound at the risk of sounding overly dramatic, here, I'm going to say that this is the sort of thing that revolutions are are made of. I mean, what we are witnessing is crazy. In fact, let's look at another thing here in the stack of stuff. Jonathan Turley I've already talked about. I talk about Jonathan Turley a lot, well, not a lot, but a reasonable amount on this program.

I respect Jonathan Turley, even though he doesn't politically align with me. He's in most ways. He's a fair minded Guy's a professor at what George Washington University Law School. He did speak to my class. He would not remember me, but he spoke to my class When I was a student at American University for a program. He came in and talked to our class about the Exxon Valdese oil spill. This would have been in nineteen ninety nine, so he was relevant. He wasn't as well known as he is today. But

I always liked and respected the guy. I really do. So he has a piece here at hotair dot com and the title is this Murcann. That's the judge. Judge Murcann to the jury, choose your own adventure. So there's a couple of tweets here at the top of this piece, and it says Murcann has instructed that the first count of falsifying business records in the first degree must show that Trump made or causes a false entry to be made.

Intent means conscious or purpose to defraud. Intent does not require an intent to defraud any particular person. Then he tweets this, Murcann just delivered the Coude Grace instruction. He said that there is no need to agree on what occurred. Now this was his instructions to the jury. They can disagree on what crime was among the three choices. Thus this means they could split four four four and he Murcann was still treat them as unanimous. So in other words,

and this is the key component. And we've touched on this a little bit, but again just to kind of paint the picture as to how how out of control this is. I mean, this is out of control in every way. By the way, at least Stephonic representative from the state of New York has has filed a complaint against this judge. She's filed an official complaint, which that's also in the stack of stuff. It was a potential

misconduct complaint against Judge murcann. So this is wild. I mean, for starters, again, to go back a little bit in history this these are all misdemeanors. The only way that he is able to well that brag, the district attorney is able to even make this a case is to try to say that there was a felony involved, not just a misdemeanor. So he's being charged with all of these misdemeanors. But what what makes them felonies, is that he tied them to an underlying crime. So that is the first

step that had to be taken. Well, not to mention the fact that they ignored this until they realized Trump was going to run for president again, and then they decided they were going to come out in full force. She ever, wonder why all four of these trials seem to have the same the same timeline, when these things happened in some cases at all different points of

time. In this case, I mean this case, the statute of limitations would have ended out if these were originally charged as misdemeanors, this would have the statute of limitations would have expired in twenty nineteen. The January sixth trial that Trump is facing, that didn't even occur until January sixth to twenty twenty one. But both of these things could have been put on the court's docket long ago. They weren't until they realized Trump was legitimately, legitimately going to

be a political adversary for them in twenty twenty four. And so voila, here we are in the midst of all this. So these this stuff never should have happened to begin with. They never should have been he never should have been charged. On top of that. On top of that, I in a previous hour I referenced I referenced this. There's a defense attorney that

Fox News interviewed. His name's Lewis Gellermino. And again, apologies if I'm mispronouncing that, but he's a he's been a criminal defense attorney in New York for forty five years, and he said that he and his law partner have never seen a case like this. I referenced this in a previous hour of the show. I'm going to reference it again. He said, this is the most absurd, obscene case we've ever seen anybody get to try to get convicted of. And for this to be a case against the former president of

the United States puts it way over the top. He said, any citizen, anybody should never be charged with the these kinds of crimes. So he's saying this never happens, this sort of thing never happens. I've never seen it. It's the craziest thing I've seen in my forty years of practicing criminal

defense laws in a defense law in New York City. And no one should be charged with this, especially someone, especially someone who is the political opponent of the Democrat Party, which all these folks that are bringing these charges, whether they're directly tied to the Department of Justice or their Democrats and their respective blue states. The bottom line or blue cities or blue states, the bottom

line is that this is all we're in uncharted territory. You know that there shouldn't be two tiers of justice, that's for sure, But we also we also need to exercise extreme caution when the person that is being charged is involved in politics. And that's only because you bring in other sorts of constitutional factors when that is the case, especially when the person is the well soon to be official nominee of the Republican Party who smoked the competition in the primary.

This is the clear front runner of the Republican Party. Former President of the United States. There's been a history of him being targeted from the deranged Trump, Russian collusion delusion all the way to Impeachment I, Impeachment two, the January sixth Shenanigans, all of this stuff, a history of Trump, the FBI listening in on phone calls, remember all of these things that happened.

There's a history of this, but so many people don't care. So many people say, whatever it takes to get this guy taken out, do it. We don't care. We will turn a blind eye. It doesn't matter. If we need eight juries on there that hate eight jurors on the jury who hate Trump. Can we get twelve? Can we get twelve who simply

want to convict the guy that simply because they hate him. That is the place that we've gotten to my friends, and a constitutional republic cannot stand with that sort of behavior, at least not for long, at least not with people like that in positions of power, whether that's power politically or power through

determining if someone is guilty or not guilty in a criminal criminal Trump. But going back here to Jonathan Turley's piece, which again is which is on the stack of stuff here, it is this is outrageous, but explicable on unanimity. The jury still has to be still has to unanimously convict Trump, but do not have to be unanimous of which crime Trump allegedly covered up with false

Ledger entries. The prosecution again I'm reading from this article. The prosecution only discussed that in closing arguments and offered three theories, one of which was a violation of the federal campaign finance law, which is outside the jurisdiction of the Manhattan DA and state courts. As long as jurors are convinced he tried to cover up one or more of the crimes, they don't have to be unanimous on which one that it was. You know, this all goes again.

Our founders put this stuff in place, the system in place, these checks and balances, the involvement of the citizenry in the actual jury process and determining beyond a shadow of a doubt or any reasonable doubt, that someone is guilty of the crimes that have been they've alleged to have been committed by the state. I mean, our fellow Americans should stand as a barrier between us in the case of a criminal trial, and the government overreaching its authority by just

imprisoning people that it wants to target. And it appears that the judge then everything in his power to make this as easy as possible. You know, the jury traditionally is supposed to agree that this is what the defendant did these this is what the law says. We can determine no other explanation for this series of you know, we can't. We can't reconcile the actions taken by the defendant and and and apply that against the law without concluding that the law

was broken and that he needs to be found guilty. That is how that should work, and and and there's a very specific way it should work. Again, the defense, excuse me. The prosecution has to beyond a reasonable doubt, prove, prove, demonstrate that this is the only explanation. And now there's all these caveats. Now you're saying, well, it doesn't matter.

The judge says, it doesn't matter which underlying criminal law was broken so that these otherwise misdemeanors can be you know, can that he can actually be tried for. And it's it's not American, my friends, it's just not. It's not American. That they have taken every opportunity to stack the deck. You know, lady, lady Justice is holding these scales with the blindfold on. That's not what happened here. She's taken her blindfold off. She

has put weights down, helping the prosecution, hampering the defense. It's absolutely inexcusable, it is, and it's happening right here in our country and half of America. I shouldn't say half. There's a percentage of America that's cheering for this. There's a percentage of America that doesn't really know and just doesn't want Trump to be their president because they bought into the lies and the insanity

that's been pushed down their throats by the seven pillars of propaganda. But nonetheless, this is where we are again, my friends, this is the sort of thing that true revolutions, true revolutions are indeed made of. So looking at the clock here, let me tell you a little bit. Remind you anyway about our friends at Nicknack Naturals. Nicknack Naturals. They are in all American small business. They prioritize customer health. They're trying to find ways to

give folks who use nicotine better alternatives than smoking and chewing and vaping. And they've done that by the creation of this mint, a nick Knack mint that has nicotine. And again, this is for people who are currently using nicotine products. If you're not using nicotine and you're not older than twenty one, this product is not for you. But if you're dealing with cigarette smoke and you're dealing with spitting and slimy pouches and bad breath, maybe some discolored,

discolored teeth and so forth. If you're dealing with those problems, or you're concerned about what those problems would look like, consider nick Knack Naturals mints. They're discreet, they're odorless, they're not messy, and they give you a naturally better alternative than what you would get smoking, vaping, or chewing. Nickknack dot com is the website. You can check out the variety of flavors

they have there. You can order flavors in one particular one particular type, or you can have a sample pack or a pack of all the different flavors included to determine which one you like best. Nick knack dot com is the website. In ic NAC nicknack dot com promo code todd will save you fifteen percent off your purchase. So this is, my friends, unfortunately, the things that revolutions are made of. And by the way, again, we are in the midst of a cold civil war. This is going to continue.

Somebody is until somebody wins. Somebody is going to have to win this. You know you cannot, I'm reminded, And again I'm going to use I'm going to use words to paint a picture here. This is only for metaphorical understanding. This is not Please don't misunderstand. It's not to say anything about an armed civil war. It's not the point. I'm just saying, when you're in a battle and you have an adversary, I'm reminded of World War Two. I'm reminded of the Japanese, and they refuse to surrender.

They refuse to unconditionally surrender, and that's why we ultimately decided to use the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and that forced the Japanese to the negotiating

table, so to speak. They were they had to unconditionally surrender. But the point is there had to be a victor, right, There had to be a victor, and then and then you can begin the process of working things out or figuring out how we move, you know, past that with the Again, I'm not saying that that's again, it's just for illustrative purposes here. Don't get this. We're not new to anybody. That should never

happen in this political discourse. I'm not. It needed to happen, and unfortunately in Japan, that was the only thing that that we did the calculations and there the number of lives lost were that we would have had had we invaded that the main islands of Japan, we would have lost tremendous amounts amounts of people. And it was a terribly tough decision, and I understand the magnitude, but it was it was a necessary decision at that at that time,

and it was it was the right thing to do. But this is unfortunate, absolutely, but it was the it they were refusing. They started the war. They refused to unconditionally surrender. They were trying to take over the world. They were they were brutal, they were of course harbor. It was bad times. But the only way the only way to get Japan to move forward with Japan was for them to surrender. And so somebody has

to win. Like I know that there's a desire to compromise, but if you have two diametrically opposed worldviews that are the opposite of each other running trying to run to control this country, in this culture and push this world view down the throats of the American people, if you have those two diametrically opposed worldviews, the only way for that for there to be a metaphorical again, it's all metaphorical here. Ceasefire, so to speak, and to talk about

healing and moving forward is for one side to win. It's for one side to actually win. Then we can talk about, Okay, this is how we move forward from here. But they're trying to The left is trying to assert dominance, dominance politically in this country, to force all of us to accept their worldview without any choice. This is the home. This is brought to you courtesy courtesy of the radical left. It's the home of the transagenda. It's the home of the communist movement, it's the home of the in

a large sent since the atheist movement. This is the godless radical left. They want to completely abandon Western civilization and culture, remake what we have in this country so that it reflects better, reflects in their minds, something that has a larger government with less freedom for the individual. They don't care about that, They care about the collective. They really care about their power,

their authority. Communism and big governments have killed untold millions of people. Even in the twentieth century, I expected, or an estimated one hundred million people were killed by these big governments. That's the direction the left is moving us. We can't compromise with that. I'm not saying we can't try to find a way to get along with them as individuals or persuade them. I mean the folks that are that have accepted the radical leftist worldview are going to be

tough to persuade. We need to be communicating with and persuading those who are liberal, who are Democrats, who are you know, just who are Democrats but aren't even liberal, They're just they're moderate Democrats or their blue dog Democrats or union Democrats. They have so much more, infinitely more in common with us, with me as a conservative, a constitutional conservative, than they ever

have with someone who's an insane, deranged, radical leftist. But we have to win the argument in order for this to be in order for us to move past this, and we've got to win. And this is this is gonna get intense. It's going to get more and more intense. This is this Trump trial is a piece of this, and there's other things that are a piece of this as well. I gotta take a time out and we'll kind of touch on some of that on the other side of the break.

My friends, you're listening to conservative not bitter talk. I am your host, the one and only Tad Huff back here in just a minute, back my friends. Second segments of this hour of the program. So lots of things happening in the news there, but I want to talk about something these you know, I have to be honest. I get ask sometimes from people who you know, haven't

heard the show yet. We have lots of conversations with a whole variety of people, from people who maybe have had us on as a guest on their show, to potential advertisers, to you name. It. Just lots of conversations that we have, and oftentimes I'm asked, you know, what's what's your show about? And in general I have to say, you know, it's it's it fits a general type of genre, which is political talk. But if you ask me, the program is not really that's not really the

best descriptor. I think that what we do here is we talk about things. We talk about things as they intersect in these following kind of categories politics, worldview, culture, and religion. That intersection that where those merge. That's where I have I have the most interest because it's it's the ideas that come from that. You know, I get bored sometimes, and that's why we don't do a lot of this. I don't like to talk about,

you know, people so much. I mean, we'll talk about I mean, I obviously have to talk about Biden because he's the he's the face of the Democrat Party. He's the person responsible for what's happening in the administrative excuse me, the the the Chief Executive's Office, the executive branch of our government. He's responsible for that. We try to pretend like he's not. I

don't the media does. The Seven Pillars are propaganda, pretend like he's not responsible, but he is responsible, not responsible for everything that's gone wrong, but certainly responsible for something. So we we talk about these things, but we really I always want to get to the you know, the the narrative of the moment is really a to me, a springboard to talk about some other issues, just like we did with the Trump trial. I didn't.

I don't spend a lot of time saying, you know, Trump's Trump's the best, and then the other side says nu huh, and I say, yuh huh. It just drives me crazy. So to me, you talk about the Trump trial. And then what's important to understand is is how far we have deviated from the intended process created by our founders and those that have shaped our government and justice systems over over the decades and or over the years,

and we've strayed so far from that it's unrecognizable to them. And so there's a group of people that have no idea, Right, there's people out there that we encounter every day that have no idea about any of that. They just think, Eh, Trump bad, prison, Orange man not good, scary, put in prison, dictator, king, monarch, uh put in prison. That's the extent of their thought. And so but there's so much more that matters in the goes into that, and we just have to

be able to communicate and and understand it. And so we talk about the reasons, the reasons that there is a jury trial, the reason, the reason that the government, the reason the government has to prove its case beyond a shadow of a doubt, the reason why the burden of proof is on the government and not on the person who's who's charged, and why those things matter because if we lose these if we lose understanding of that, then we

are definitely doomed as a nation. And so I like to talk about not just not just the narrative, but kind of the the thinking and what's happening beneath the surface to push us to that point, because I think that's where we have to address the problem. So with that in mind, it's led me to this. There's a lot going on, but this is just interesting to me. This is at Washington Examiner dot com. It's in the stack of stuff headline here. Less than half of young adults are proud to be

American. Now I've shared this story on our program before. I think i've shared I've shared it somewhere. I talk a lot my friends. I believe it was on this program. The when I was in high school, I played football. My senior year, we were getting whooped by a team. You know, we kind of turned that the program had struggled. The program had struggled for years, and our senior year we started the process of turning it around. We made it to the sectional championship and got beat by the

team that eventually won the state. They walloped us too in the sectional championship. But this was earlier in the season, but not It wasn't early in the season. It was earlier than the sectional. This was near the end of the season. We played at school called Try West, who was by that point in time, a team that had been consistently They were a smaller they were a class smaller than us, but they were competitive at the state

level. In fact, I believe they'd won a state championship recently, you know, in relation to that time, or they at least had been. And so we were playing them and we were getting it handed to us, and our coach was not very happy about this, and he shouldn't have been, by the way. And we get into the locker room and he asks one of the players, one of the seniors. It was not me. He said, are you proud to be a Monrovia Bulldog? And this individual

didn't say yes. I don't know exactly what the answer was, but it wasn't yes. And the coach lost his mind. And the point he was trying to make was was that you need to be you need to be proud. You need to develop a culture that you can be proud of. And I mean this is some egotistical way. I mean that you're actually pleased with that, you would stand up for that, that you would say, yes,

I'm a part of that. And in spite of the fact that we got beat forty points, I'm still proud of who we are, what we're building, and we're not gonna let that happen again. And that wasn't the response, and so the coach went wild and was screaming, screaming at us and everything else. But that's how I feel about being American. So to think that less than half of adults, young adults, I should say, are proud to be an American, is mind boggling to me. I mean,

I understand how we got there. They've been taught that America is a bad place. They've been taught that America is to be is responsible for all the ills of the world. They've been taught that they're whatever. If they're white. They've been taught that their whiteness is a problem. If they're male, they've been taught that their maleness is a problem. If they're not part

of the LGBT community, they've been taught that that's a problem. If they're not if they're not a black American, they're told to sit down and shut up, and they don't have an opinion on whatever it is that they're not supposed to have an opinion. On and on and on we go, and people buy into that. It's it's it's in their face. But it's all so subtle in a way because they don't do that to jen A when they try to do that to people. And I'm from gen X, right,

and we don't put up with that. You can think whatever you want, you can say whatever you want, but don't think I'm going to agree with it. And don't think you're gonna get away with defining me. I'll define me. You can take your all your assumptions and your aggressive talk about who you think I am and sticking with the sun don't shine man, but you're not going to define me. That's not the way that this works. And so but a lot of people have this used against them to the point to

where they're ashamed or embarrassed or at least not proud to be American. More on this after the break. I'm just up against the clock this segment of my friends timeouts in order. It's sad. You should be proud, by the way to be an American, even in spite of everything happening. Should be proud to be an American. Quick time out though my friends back in just a minute, back to my friends. Last segment of this hour of the Todd huff Show, we've been talking about young adults, less than half

of them being proud to be American, and there's reason for this. The left, by the way, is happy about this. They don't want you to be proud to be an American. And by the way, being proud to be an American does not mean that you think that you're superior. That doesn't mean that you don't have respect for other people around the world. It doesn't mean anything like that. It just means that you are proud, you

are pleased with the blessings. You're grateful for the blessings and opportunities you have by being by virtue of being American. I mean, it is an incredible thing. I think about this sometimes, the statistical odds that I would have been born just even in today's world, but over the course of history, to be able to be alive with the technological advancements, the standard of living that we have, the foundation of government we have in this country. I

mean, it's an incredible thing. I am incredibly blessed, and my friends, you are too. And look I know you might be going through personal hardship, difficulty, health scares, loss of a loved one, marital problems, problems with children, illness. I understand that, and I'm sympathetic to that, and those are real things, and that's all. We all deal with those sorts of problems over the course of our lives, and they're they're tough to deal with, and I'm certainly want to recognize that. But the

reality is, we've been blessed to we have it better. I'm telling you, we have it better than ninety nine zero point nine percent of the people who have ever walked this planet. That's in spite of all the stuff that they're doing, all the stuff that they're doing to destroy this nation, all of the ways that they're teaching young people to hate or hate this nation or

to be embarrassed of it. Nothing should be further nothing, nothing should be further from the truth than that, if something makes you embarrassed about this country, something makes a person embarrassed, they've been lied to. Again. It doesn't mean that America is perfect. We've certainly made some mistakes, We've certainly done bad things. That's no one suggesting otherwise, But to pretend that the world is not a drastically better place for this country is beyond naive. It's

beyond deceptive, and beyond untrue. It's beyond untrue. It's the furthest thing from the truth. If this country didn't exist, the world would be a much darker place, a much darker place. I wonder what would have happened with Soviet communism and communist expansionism. You look at all the people that Soviet or that communism is killed and big government. Who would have stood up to the expansionists in the Soviet Empire, the evil empire? Who would have done

that? Would it have been Canada? Would it have been Great Britain? I mean, I don't know. Margaret Thatcher did it. I mean, Margaret Thatcher did a great things. But it took the United States of America to stare that down, my friends, and we should be pleased with that, We should be proud of that. I don't understand it personally why someone's not proud of their country. I hope that those of you listening to my

voice are I hope that well. Everyone is to be quite honest, and if someone doesn't feel that way, you know, direct them to this program. I don't know. Have them send me a message. Heck, I don't know. There's things that I'm working on as we build our Inner Circle program, our membership program. Maybe there's some things that we can do there. But there's no reason to be ashamed. It is good to be American. It is good to be American. And by the way, I also

don't understand the people. You know. For example, if there's something that happens in this country that you know, the left disagrees with, they act like, I mean, they are babies about this. They pounce, they cry, they scream at the universe. I don't. We don't do it that way, right, I mean when they did that when Roe versus Wade was overturned, But we didn't do that when Roe versus Wade was created by the Supreme Court, we didn't act that way. Anyway, there's nothing to

be ashamed of. My friends. Got to wrap up here. But before I do, let me remind you that Salty Salty dot com sol tea salty dot Com is here to help you with your heart health.
