I am your host, the aforementioned Todd
Huff. Email Todd at todhoffshow dot com. Thoughts, questions, feedback, opinions, you know the routine, Todd at todhoffshow dot com. You can also hit those or hit me up. I should say it three one seven, two one zero twenty eight. And I appreciate hearing from you. Do my best to get back as quickly as possible. Hope you had a great a great weekend. And so of course here we are Monday. You know
how it works. On Monday, we typically have a barrage. This is normal, by the way, a barrage of things that I want to get through, I catch up on and kind of I guess frame up here as we enter this new week. I want to start I actually want to start with a couple of well, let me just mention off the top. I don't want to spend a lot of time on this, but I do want
to share this off the top. You may have seen this. I'm looking here at a Fox News article Republicans flip Democrat held Louisiana governor's seat in first major contest ahead of the twenty twenty for elections. So Louisiana is an interesting state politically. Louisiana is a state that is reliably read on the national front,
or at least presidential voting. It's you know, a Trump state, a red state, and you know, winning for Republicans on the national level seems to be a consistent reality there, but on the state wide level, it's a little bit different story. In fact, they've had a Democrat governor named John Bell Edwards who has recently reached his term limit as governor in the great State of Louisiana, and he well, the Republican has been voted in
to replace John Bell Edwards. That happened. This was again, Look, I don't know how much to put into this. Some people black like this is a Bellweather of things to come. No pun intended, given that he is replacing John Bill Edwards. But this is something that happened over the weekend on Saturday, and there were multiple candidates, and since typically well in these elections, depending upon the state, someone has to reach fifty percent or there
will be a runoff with the top two candidates. Jeff Landry, the Attorney General in Louisiana, actually reached that threshold and has won and will be the governor of that state. Again, I don't want to put too much into this, but I also don't want to just blow it off either, because who ultimately knows when you come down to it, who ultimately knows if this is something that we can extrapolate and actually begin to apply to a larger scale. I also want to mention off the top now. I want to wait
on that. I want to talk a little bit later about Jim Jordan's nomination to be Speaker of the House. I want to kind of give you an update on that where that may be potentially heading. That's an interesting scenario as as well. But I want to wait on that because I want to really start with Israel and what is happening in Gaza. So we know you know
by now that Israel is preparing for a ground invasion of Gaza. Israel has basically made it clear from the beginning, and I've got a lot of stuff in the stack of stuff on the website toddebshow dot com if you want to check it out. But Israel has made it very clear pretty much from the beginning of this that they are not going to be negotiating with terrorists, they are not going to be negotiating with Hamas. They are interested in eradicating this
evil from Gaza. And so Israel has taken several steps including by the way, now the left wants you to believe that Israel is in the business of running an apartheid state. The left and the media wants you to believe that Israel is trying to exterminate the Palestinians. What Israel is trying to do. That, by the way, is completely and utterly false. What Israel is trying to do is to eradicate Gaza of terrorists. That's what Israel is trying
to do. And they have taken every conceivable reasonable step to do this in a way that will limit any casualties of people who are not part of Hamas. Now we know that Hamas was the elected representationation, the elected representatives of the Palestinian people in Gaza. We know that they have won. That polling has well, we're elected to be the representative. Polling shows that fifty seven
percent of Palestinians admit to supporting Hamas. So that means at least forty three percent may not support them or not, you know, maybe somewhat or not at all, But only fifty seven percent, I say only that's a significant number. But there's just a little less than half of the people that don't. Let say that they don't necessarily just outright support Hamas. Now that's still problematic. I'm not just I'm not just glossing over that. But Israel.
Israel has said, look, we are in the business of eradicating the leadership of Hamas. And so once this once this terrorist attack was long lunched on the people of Israel, Israel has been very consistent on this. They've said enough, they don't care how much the media sympathizes and empathizes with Hamas and with terrorists. So Israel said, we are going to go in and eradicate
this. They eradicate them from Gaza with every resource that we have. And so they've done some strikes, They've done some missile strikes, some targeted strikes, and so forth. And we know unequivocally, without question Hamas tries they literally try to ensure that there are civilian deaths. They use their people as human shields. Israel is trying to use laser light precision to avoid that. Israel says, get the human shields out of the way. We're coming for
you. Hamas. You pick this fight now, let's have it. You want to eradicate us, you want to wipe us off the face of the planet. We have played games with you long enough. The time for measured response is over. We are going to eradicate you. And so they've cut off the water, they've cut off the electricity, They've of course got an embargo around Gaza, and they are preparing to send in massive amounts of troops. And this is probably not going to be a pretty situation even for the
Israel. Israelis going into a highly densely populated area that is known to have an advanced, complicated, intricate tunnel system. Whether are hostages that have been taken from Israel is going to be a very violent inch by inch eradication of the terrorist rats that are in Gaza. That is what is going to happen. Israel has dropped leaflets, they have warned the people, get everyone out
of here. I think I think initially Friday, late in the day I saw that they said everyone needs to evacuate by I think they said twenty four hours at first. But basically they've been letting the people, the people who
are not part of Hamas. By the way, fifty seven percent of them, of the people that they are letting out of Gaza, according to polling, are supportive of Hamas, So this isn't even They're not even doing anything with the people who are supporting Hamas, who think that Hamas is the right
form of leadership. All Israel cares about is eradicating the people who are actually doing the terroristic planning, the people who are actually launching and lobbing missiles into Israel, the people who actually went in to kill and kidnap and torture and rape women, kill children, including babies. Israel says we are going to get them. So they've alerted the people in Palestine to get out. They've
said get out because we're coming in. The time for games is over, the time for whatever the media around the world thinks is the appropriate response, the proportionate response, which whatever the heck that's supposed to mean. I've got a clip about that. By the way, that time permitting, I would like to get to. But Israel has said, enough enough of this. We are going in and we are going to fix this problem once and for
all as best we can. And so they're preparing for that. They've alerted the people in Palestine or excuse me, in Gazza, the Palestinians there, and they have been leaving the area of Gaza. And on top of that, according to the Israeli Defense Forces, Hamas was actively trying to keep the Palestinians from exiting the country, well from exiting Gaza when they were going south.
So you've got Israel who, the media, who, the anti Semites in Congress, the aocs, the Rashida Talibs, the elon Omars, those folks, the folks that tell you constantly that Israel is engaged in an apartheid state or whatever else, whatever other nonsense that they're coming up with. They want to blame Israel for this. Israel is the one who is telling the people of Gaza to leave. Hamas is trying to keep them from leaving. Hamas views them as disposable people that are human shields. How any, folks,
I am a very understanding individual. I understand that there are people who have different ways of looking at the world, and there's commonly conversations I'll have where I'll think this person's way wrong on this. But hey, okay, fine, there's nothing I can do about that. I do not I do
not understand. This is not complicated. This is incredibly simple. And for those for those who act like this is a I can see it both ways sort of discussion, absolutely, unequivocally, without any hesitation in my voice. No, that is completely absurd and ridiculous. Now, again, if we want to take a step back and look at the conflict and the discussion about
land and everything. Okay, but when you understand the history of this, what has gone on in that region, taking Hamas out of it for a second, just looking at the argument over whose land is, who's and all this stuff. Israel has tried and tried and tried and tried and tried five times. Five times. They agreed to land for peace deals every single time
the Palestinians rejected it. Hamas's charter, as I've said before, as you know, calls for the annihilation, the complete annihilation of the state of Israel. They want to push them into the sea. They want them to be dead, they want them to not exist. There is no Folks, we can have discussions on how land should be partitioned, but there is no Hamas side of this. There is absolutely none. They are terrorists, they are
evil. They started this. Israel has every right to defend itself. How anyone cannot state this clearly, I have any sort of moral equivocation here. They are unfit to be a leader. I don't care of a local little league, basketball, tea or or whatever. This is morally completely clear and easy to see, and it is offensive to people who actually care about good and evil, siding with good, fighting against the evil that exists in the
world today. It is maddening to watch people weak, need knee knocking, afraid to come out and stand on the side of truth, obvious truth. It's absolutely, absolutely despicable to me, one hundred percent, not even ninety nine percent. And again I feel like I am more than willing to understand
people, I don't understand this. It is weakness. It is a lack of character, It is a lack of maybe understanding, I suppose, but don't be said saying things about these things being morally equivalent with information that's incomplete. Israel is not perfect, but Israel is one hundred percent in the right here. They absolutely are, and so the battle lines have been drawn. I want to talk about this a little bit more next segment. I also
want to get to a Speaker of the House update. This is going to get interesting, and there's other things in the news as well. Time permitting, we will get to including Wisconsin's state representative. This is just a state representative, not someone in Washington, d C. Someone in the state House of Wisconsin who actually got on the floor of the state House and said that women who lose to biological males just need to work harder. That's how you
fix that problem. My friends, Delusion abounds in this country. Fortunately you have tuned into a place where we can collectively fight back against the nonsense. My friends, you're listening here to conservative not better talk. I am your host, Tad huff back in a minute. Welcome back, my friends. So just want to go through a little bit more here with the situation with Israel and what's happening in Gaza. We've talked about Israel preparing for the ground
invasion. We've talked about Israel making it abundantly clear as they should, they're not negotiating with Hamas. Israel also doesn't care about proportionality. This is just a dumb thing to say. Anyway. Let's see Hamas came in Israel and they raped and murdered and kidnapped x percent of your people. So in response, you can do the same. What on earth? You know? What is the appropriate way, apropriate way to think about this is what is the
response required? What is the response that is necessary and justifiable that says that will not happen again, That's what we should think about. Shouldn't be there counting, you know, like if you buy gifts for family members that I've got family members like this, I mean, they get it down to the penny. They buy presents for the kids at Christmas and they're like to the nearest dollar, They're like, hey, I spent I mean exactly the same,
right, it's proportionate. Everything is equal to which I sometimes asked, well, what if something was on sale, something was on clearance. I mean, did you buy something and get a once in a lifetime deal. I mean all these things. But anyway, I understand where they're coming from. I'm just sating I don't understand this proportional response. Your job is to defend your people. It's not to be proportionate that these are the things that
liberals and leftists come up with. Well, the appropriate thing to do here is to sunday no. No, there's no sinning of messages. They're stopping of terrorism. There is ending the threat, the existential threat that exists against your people that you have been that you are responsible for providing national defense for. That is what the job is of the leadership in Israel and of the
Israeli military, the IDF. So we've got that going on. We get the US of course sending what is it, the USS gerald R Ford over to the Mediterranean Sea, and who knows what will happen beyond that, But this is what is currently happening. We've got Israel warning civilians and saying get out of Gaza. We've got Hamas trying to keep them in Gaza so as to get as much death and destruction on their own citizens as possible. That's what this boils down to. And again that's why, to me is abundantly
clear that there is right and wrong in this particular situation. We've also found according to documents, whereas this is in the stack of stuff as well. Washington Examiner dot com headline Hamas documents reveal plans to target schools and kidnap children, according to a report, So we have that as well, if we needed needed that. I just last week I had some knuckleheads on social media. Oh, the stuff about the kids have been disproven and so forth.
Babies weren't beheaded. I mean, even if let's just for a moment, let's for a moment say okay, that that did not happen. They killed them another way. There were stories that they were folks. I don't like to say these things, but again cover young ears three two one. There's reports that some were burnt alive. I mean, is that is that better? What in the world is going on here? The defense, the defense of the Hamas terrorists by these leftists shows their blind hatred and rage for what
I would say, for logic, for God. I'm telling you, the godless radical left I'm not talking to liberals. I'm not even talking people who want to have an under disagreement on what you know, Palestinian land, Israel, Israeli land. How can we partition this up the people that would be at least reasonable, that would not reject any offer that has been provided by the Israelis over the past whatever it is, seven since nineteen forty eight. So anyway, this is this is where, this is where we are.
This is where we are. We've got the media sympathizing with Hamas terrorists. That's in the stack of stuff as well. It's posted by newsmasts news excuse me, NewsBusters, NewsBusters dot org. I'm going to read you a couple of these. I'm not going to play the clips. This lunatic on MSNBC Velshi is his last name, what is his first name? Ali Velshi on October seventh said that there is nuance to understanding these terrorist attacks against Israel.
That's one of the favorite words and phrases of the left. Oh there's nuance. Oh it's so sophisticated and complicated. We got to get to this, We got to get really deep into it to understand why. I guess why. It's necessary to permit, excuse, allow Hamas to engage in terrorism against Israeli's citizens. Call me crazy, my friends, but that's a big, fat no, unequivocally no. It's evil and wicked. We don't need to understand any nuance. It is pure evil sent from the pits of hell.
Velshi La Times reporter said this the only source for quote Hamas. Here we go cover young ears. The Hamas beheaded baby story appears to be the Israeli military, which is widely known to spread lies and disinformation journalists. This is the fog of war. This was a tweet by an investigative reporter named al Adam Amarek. You'll be seeing, he writes, all sorts of claims.
Don't amplify unverified sensational info. Just to be clear, they think that the propagandists in this war are the Israelis and not Hamas, not the terrorists, not the ones who are hoping for video footage of women and children and civilian suffering so that they can blame Israel. There's several others, several other stupid things that these journalists have said. There's nine. I've read two of them. That leaves seven in case there's a Bernie Sanders Democrat Socialist of America listener
tuned in today that wanted to help you out with that. Matt, take it easy. I'm just playing. I am a little bit. I mean it's true too. But you can see those on the stack of stuff. Take a time out here. When I get back, I do want to play this one more thing. I want to play this British author. He was being interviewed on a British media site, news station, I should say, and he was talking about this proportional response thing which is out there in
the media. Israel's coming in too hard. By the way I saw, fifty percent of Democrats think that Israel has already gone too far in their response to Gaza, to the terrorists that have attacked them from Gaza, what a clown show of Their job is to stop it. Their job is to find out the people who think that they can get away with this and eliminate them. That is their job, and that's what they're gonna do, and that's exactly what they should do, no matter what the media says, no matter
what the Democrat Party says. Timeouts in order, though, I'll play that. On the other side of the break. My friends, sit tight back here in just a minute. Welcome back, my friend. So I want to play this sound byde here. This is an author, a British author and journalist named Douglas Murray. He's on a talk show here in Britain talking about the Israeli Palestinian conflict, the Israeli response, and I want you to
listen to this. I want you to listen to how she sets this up, and I want you to listen to his response, because this is exactly right. All this talk a proportional response and making sure you do enough but not too much. How about we just trying to focus on stopping the terrorism
that's being exported by Hamas from Gaza here. It is the siege of Gaza, cutting off all supplies of fuel, the electric lost electricity plant that's gone, there's no electricity, there's no running water, there is no food going in there, no other fuel supplies going in. Borders closed that Egypt as
well. There's only little criticism of Egypt for that. Interestingly is that and while raining down missiles on buildings which they know are going to kill civilians, we know hundreds and hundreds Ofvilians have already died, many of them children. Is that a reasonable proportionate and moral response? Price portionate and moral? There is some deep perversion in whenever Israel is involved in a conflict, and it is the word you just used, proportion proportionate, proportionality. Only Britain is
really obsessed with this. I have heard it for the last few days incessantly. Proportionality and conflict rarely exists. But if we were to decide that we should have this fetish about proportionality, then that would mean that in retaliation for what Hamaz did in Israel on Saturday, Israel should try to locate a music
festival in Gaza, for instance, and good luck with that. Should try to find a music festival in Gaza and rape precisely the number of women that Hamaz raped on Saturday, kill precisely the number of young people that Hamas killed
on Saturday. They should find a town of exactly the same size as a town like Starot, where I've been many times myself, and make sure they go to door to door and kill precisely the correct number of babies that Hamas killed in Steoft on Saturday, and shooting the head precisely the same number of old age pensioners as were shot in st On Saturday, just to choose one
town. Proportionality and conflict is a joke and it's a very strange British concept which we've had that only the Israelis in the conflict, when they are attacked are expected to have precisely the proportionate response. And that's right. Well,
other than the fact it's not just in it's not just in Britain. This comes up, so this comes up in any sort of leftist sort of outpost media outposts, and it's from it's it's created by people who fundamentally have a problem with the existence of Israel. They have a hatred for the nation of Israel. They don't like the idea of there being a Jewish state. They are either uninformed or misinformed as to the history that exists in regards to land
in the region. They have no understanding or concern I guess, or again they're either misinformed or uninformed as to who we are actually dealing with when we deal with Hamas. These are actual terrorists. These are people who have in their founding document, in their charter, have written this is I put this a link to this in last week's column. That would have been what October.
I don't know what that would have been. That would have been the eleventh I think if you go back and look, there's a link and you can see you can see phrases pulled from the Hamas Charter that call for the destruction of the Jewish state, that call for the removal of Jews from every inch of land that is known as Israel or Palestine or whatever someone wants to call it. They say they don't have a right to exist there. They are defending this holy land as the holy land of Muslims, and they will
not allow for the Jewish state to exist there. They will annihilate and destroy them. That is what they have written. That is what they have signed. That is akin to their declaration of independence. Albeit it's the polar opposite of the declaration of independence. It's the polar opposite of the Constitution. It is not rooted upon goodness and decency and foundational truths. Is built upon lies and hatred and manipulation and wickedness and evil. That is what it is built
upon. And this gentleman is correct in his response to these, Well, this is one lunatic journalist, but the lunatic journalists can be lined up around the world talking about the same stupid things, posing the same stupid questions, talking about things like proportionality and so forth. What was the proportion that Hamas should have used? Has anyone asked that question? The proportion of was that proportional? Right? Was it proportional for them to go in and kill one
person? Was what do these journalists think is proportionate? On the Hamas sides, See, they don't care about that. They do not care. And for a large number of these people, it's because they have a rabbid hatred for God and the things of God. They have a rabid hatred of anything that makes them remotely think of the Bible and have to come to the realization of that They're gonna have to make a decision on the truth, the veracity
of the scriptures. They're gonna have to come to grips with the possibility that they will one day stand before the creator of the universe, the God of the Bible, and give an account. And they don't want anything to do with them. I mean, for some people it is that simple. They hate, They want nothing to do with God, they want nothing to do with God's people, and if they had their choice, they would wipe them off the face of the planet, or at least allow for I guess what
else are we supposed to assume here? Hamas has stated this. The media is excusing it, the media is empathizing with it, sympathizing with it.
What else are we supposed to make of this? And I'm not by the way, I'm not for against the journalists asking asking questions to understand, to get to the heart of the issue, to have someone explain from I mean, different perspectives on things, but to condone and to empathize and to excuse outright stated acts of terrorism is reprehensible and evil and it needs to be defined as as such a timeout as in order, my friends sit tight. You're
listening here to conservative not bitter talk. I am your host, todd Up back in a minute, Welcome back to my friends. So I want to shift gears here just a little bit. It's actually significant. I want to put this discussion of Israel, Gaza, all this stuff on the back burner
for now. I want to mention two other things. I want to remind you that, according to polling, fifty percent or just south of fifty percent of Democrats think that Israel has already done too much in responding to the situation that Hamas has cause caused in Gaza. And number two DeSantis has made a statement that the US should not accept any refugees from Gaza, any Palestinian refugees.
So I just want to put those things out there, and I want to move on here because I want to talk briefly in the time that we have remaining. I want to talk about what is happening in the House of Representatives. So over the weekend or late last week, it appeared that Steve Scalise might be might be Kevin McCarthy's replacement. Well, they had meetings behind closed doors. There were a number of holdouts. They could not get in
the Republican conference. Just the Republicans, right, So you need two hundred and seven. This is complicated. You need two hundred and seventeen votes to become speaker Republicans, what do they have? Two hundred and twenty I think is what the current count is is Republicans in the House. Now. By the way, if they want to get mad about that, let me remind you that McCarthy was the one running the House when they were well the Republican
party in the House, when they were the minority. He was the minority leader of the House of Representatives. If they don't like the number of Republicans that won in twenty twenty two, there should have been many, many more that than did than did win, then that's something that they should look in the mirror on and wonder and ask the question why didn't we win more seats?
But that's for another day. So two hundred and twenty Republicans. There's of course some abstentions and people who are not in Washington, d C. And so they're going behind closed doors secret ballot trying to get enough people, trying to get enough people for Steve Scalise at first to become the speaker. It was clear that there were a number of holdouts. So Steve Scalise basically
withdrew his name from consideration. So that meant that now Jim Jordan, which by the way, Jim Jordan would be the best Speaker of the House from a conservative constitutional perspective that we have had. I would say in modern history, ever, I would have to. I mean, John Banner's not it, Kevin McCarthy's not it, it's the guy. There's another I'm drawn a
blank as to the House leader back early in the early two thousands. Anyway, bottom line, the most conservative and best option to be a Speaker of the House is Jim Jordan. He's the one that's got an opportunity to do this now when they had there was another individual his name was escaping me at the moment, who was also in Republican leadership from Georgia. As I'm drawing a blank here, I don't know why I'm drawing a complete blank. Anyway,
he was. He was actually running through his name in the hat as well. Jordan beat him in the closed door ballot the runoff. I guess if you will now neither one. Yeah, oh, Austin Scott. They're sorry about that. I just completely had a brain freeze there for a moment. So Austin Scott did not well, he was he was on the ballot Jim Jordan. Jim Jordan actually got more more votes than did the other individual
from from Georgia. And so now, but it's not enough. It's one hundred and twenty one, actually one hundred and twenty four on Friday one, twenty four to eighty one voted one hundred and twenty four voted four eighty one voted against the idea of there being a speaker Jim Jordan. Now fifty five fifty five Republicans say they are going to refuse to back Jordan. So now now we're going to have, potentially, if this makes its way to the
floor, this is going to be interesting. Republicans are the establishment types are embarrassed, or at least they want you to think they're embarrassed. I think that there's something else going on here. I think that if this goes out and the American people see this like they saw the Kevin McCarthy thing, I believe. I believe these fifty five folks that are opposing Jim Jordan, when they start getting pressure, are going to start caving. That's what I think,
and I think that's what they don't want. And so we'll see. There's actually to make matters even worse. As a representative from Alabama who has said he's going to talk with Hakim Jeffries the Democrats and see if they can possibly strike a deal with him on becoming Speaker of the House, I don't think there's any chance of that really happening. But we are in uncharted waters in a lot of ways here. But anyway, I just wanted to share that with you. Out of time here, quick time out, my friends.
