Attention. You're listening to the top Huff radio show, America's home for conservative not bitter talk radio. Be advised. The content of this program has been documented to prevent and even cure liberalism, and listening may cause you to lean to the rights. Here's your conservative but not bitter host, Todd Huff. That is right, my friends, we are conservative not bitter. Indeed,

is pleasure to be here today. Email should you want to be part of the conversation, share your thoughts, your feedback, your opinions, whatever you would like. Just make sure you include the appropriate amount of adoration and praise for yours. Truly, I will tell you that's about ten to fifteen percent more adoration and praise than you think is required. Give it your best shot

and make it count, my friends. Todd at todepshow dot com is the email, or of course you can text three one seven two one zero two eight three zero. So a couple of things that I want to hit on briefly and cover a lot here hopefully today. First and foremost you would have seen that on Wednesday night, Chris Christy announced that he was suspending his presidential campaign, which basically just means he's dropping out of the race. So now

we're down to again. You know my thoughts on this, and I don't mean this to be I don't mean this to be disrespectful to anyone in the race, although I have to be honest, of all the people that entered the race, the two that are the most perplexing to me where Chris Christy and Mike Pince. That is not personal. I'm just telling you what I think. You can disagree with that assessment. Chris Christie I think is running

for the wrong party in a lot of ways. I think Chris Christie, the things he was saying on that debate stage when he was part of the well when he you know my thoughts. I don't think any of these folks are part of this. It is Trump's nomination. This is something that you know, we just haven't dealt with in modern times. This is not the

way that it's supposed to work. There's supposed to be a nomination process where everyone participates in the debates, they exchange ideas, they challenge each other, they get you know, applause and crowds to hoot and holler for him, and whatever way is you know, beneficial hopefully to them. Is from their perspective, But none of that's happened here because Trump is the runaway favorite DeSantis. I don't understand ultimately why any of these folks entered the race, but

especially Pence and Christie's. I said, from the very beginning of this thing. As I said, from the very beginning, the reason Nicki Haley, the reason the Santis, the reason Chris Christy, Mike Pence ran for the nomination was to be there if and when President Trump stumbled because of whatever challenges were thrown his way. Name taken off of ballot, carted away in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit, not to be confused with Hillary Clinton's orange pants suit

from two thousand and sixteen. And so this was the strategy all along. It was the strategy all along. And I I remember when DeSantis entered, I said, look, there's a lot of things to like about this guy. I don't see the upside here. This is still Trump's to lose. I understand the desire to seize an opportunity when it's before you. DeSantis had a lot of momentum at the time. A lot of people like what DeSantis has been doing in the state of Florida. I had no problem with any

of that. I just questioned the logic of it at the time. I remember saying, and I know he's still on the race. I'm just saying, this applies to if it applies to him, who to me at that time, when people were beginning to enter the field, if he was the one who was most likely to be the next guy, the next choice, then if he had that sort of well series of obstacles to contend with, that I think are impossible, virtually impossible, and I'm almost opt I missed

a guy that you're going to find in most rooms. But I think the realities were that this is Trump's this, We've never experienced, this, what we are dealing with before. I told you when I started this program, I never planned on ever ever choosing someone as endorsing someone, I should say, during the presidential primary. I kind of take an old fashioned position on that. In fact, if you go back to the archives, which you can find out on our website and go scroll back, scroll back to twenty

sixteen, and you'll find it out. I remember doing an episode where I spoke something favorably about every presidential candidate at the time. I've never even told, never mentioned on this program who I voted for in twenty sixteen in the primary. Indiana, by the way, was the state, the last state to cast a ballot where it was still competitive. Ted Cruz dropped out of the race after after losing Indiana to Trump, so I had the choice.

We had the choice of Ted Cruz and Donald Trump and John Kasich. I think John Kasik was on there as well, and I remember saying at the time he was running fourth out of two candidates because it was Rubio Trump, Cruz and John Kasich, and Kaiseich was the only one left and he was still running in fourth out of only two candidates, which is remarkable that you can do something like that. But anyway, I didn't always have this approach.

But given what has happened, given the attacks on Trump, impeachment one, impeachment true Russia, Russia, Russia collusion, what's happened with him after leaving office January sixth, attempts to take him off of ballots, attempts to throw him in prison, all of this stuff. Some of that, by the way, I wrote about in this week's column, which you can get for free. It went out on Wednesday, toddushow dot com. You can

sign up there. But when those sorts of battle lines are drawn, and you have a president who's immensely popular even in his defeat in twenty twenty, and you have a guy that can still keep I mean there were signs. My family and I traveled this country. We traveled a big chunk of it with our fifth will with Eagle one, the fifth wheel that's hitched to the back of what are the kids called the truck, Clara, Henry, Henry, I don't know anyway, Henry Ford, I think anyhow, as we

traveled the country, I just there were Trump signs all across. I'm talking long after, long after Trump had been removed frontwell, who lost the election, wasn't running at the time we were traveling twenty twenty one, twenty twenty two, I guess you know, in twenty twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, and you would see these signs that had been up for a long time. You would see Trump Pence signs in places those sorts of things had not happened, And so they are stepping into this buzz saw. The

folks that decided to enter this race. Chris Christy, who never had a chance. Who was the closest thing to what a Democrat would look like on that debate stage is now dropped out, and you know whoever's remaining? Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, the Akaramaswamy, who, by the way, is the one that I think, actually I can see the logic most for his candidacy, given that he was relatively unknown and some would argue as still a

large, largely unknown individual. But I can understand him running more than I can the others. But nonetheless, they all were playing for second place. Trump wasn't even attending isn't even attending these debates. So Chris Christie's out. The question is who's going to be next. We've got, by the way, on Monday. Here we are on Friday, on Monday, we have the Is that right Monday? OZ? It's Monday? Right? The Iowa caucuses January fifteenth, that's Monday, I think, right, yes, the

Iowa Caucuses are Monday. We're going to see what happens there. We know what's going to happen there, and there's going to be some other primary battles. Then we're moving towards the big date, which is going to be March what is it March fifth, I believe Super Tuesday, the day after Trump's DC trial is supposed to begin. So you get all of these things converging

around Trump. They only serve to make the guy stronger. Teflon Don this guy ooka And I'm not saying this, I just think that this is how he is viewed. I think this is part of the appeal. Nothing stops or phases this guy. And for those of us who have watched presidential politics or politics in general for the better part of our lives or for the past several decades, and we've we've watched it, and we've seen the weakness of

Republicans. We've seen how they've not held true to their principles, how they've backed down whenever there's media criticism, how they get wobbly in the knees every time there's any hint of controversy. They want to go running to the hills and waving the white flag. For those of us who have seen that and have voiced our disgust and displeasure and just complete just we've been completely in some

sense situations, in some circumstances, completely abandoned by Republicans. Even people who said that they agree with conservative principles and values, and so forth, they give up and they quit, and they don't have an ounce of fight. And along comes this guy Trump, and he's not an ideological conservative, but more times than not, the things he knows from his sense and understanding and the people that are around him, many more times than not, the conservative

solution is the one he recognizes is the right one. Not in every case, not in every case, certainly, but in I would argue the vast majority of the cases, at least at least as it pertains to the things that we're dealing with now, the things that have to be dealt with first and foremost, but a border security right, illegal immigration, strength, right, having peace through strength on the international stage, taxes, lowering taxes,

reducing bureaucracy, the nomination of certain types of justices to the Supreme Court of the United States of America. These things, my friends, all compute, if you will, they all compute for the average conservative, if we can

see past whatever. Some people have personal problems and don't like the tweets and everything else, and it's just it's just a little bit invigorating politically to watch this happen, because we haven't had a candidate like that, and so every time he walks through the next challenge, walks through the next fire, it encourages it. It just motivates the crowd, the people who have had enough

of what our government has been doing to us. The trage read the direction that they are taking us, and it's going to be It's going to be impossible short of something cataclysmic happening to Trump's campaign, this is a foregone conclusion. Chris Christie's coming to realize that the others are on the path to realizing that as well. They probably do behind closed doors, but they at least want to get through Iowa. Who knows what happens after that. Anyway,

there you go, Chris Christie's out. Chris Christie's also caught on a hot mic saying that he's not the only one that's gonna get Smokedy mentions another candidate by name as well. We'll get to that after the break, as well as many other things in the news concerning Hunter Biden, concerning the economy. Maybe even get to an offering, a course offering at Rice University called afro chemistry. Anyway, lots of the stack of stuff today, My friends.

Quick time out though, is in order. Back here in just a minute. Welcome back, my friends. So I want to play this clip. This was from what I guess it was Wednesday night. This was the day that Christy dropped out of the race, Chris Christy. This was Trump on the stage for what they call a town hall meeting, a modern day town hall where they give you some sort of a stool to sit on in the middle of a stage or a couple of reporters. What is this? This

is Fox News, Brettbear. I think that's Martha McCollum. I'm looking here at the I got the video. You don't have that, but you do have the audio here because I'm gonna play it for you. So Trump is asked, He's asked about his VP. Now, a couple of things here. Number one, Trump is Trump's the master of this. Trump is the master of the teas. Trump is the master of controlling the news narrative.

This is something that given everything that he is dealing with and all that we're dealing with as a nation, the assault on liberty, actual and real election interference by the left through their seven Pillars of propaganda, which we talk about on this program, sometimes we don't spend as much time on some of these subtle things, these little differences, these things that make Trump who Trump is, or the things that make Trump capable able to connect with his audience.

It's this sort of stuff. He's mastered this over the course of his lifetime, and this is something that I mean, many candidates can't pull this off with as much ease. And it's just he does this. He does this

so so well. So he's asked about the VP, and I wanted to wait to play this this segment because he references Chris Christie and you're going to hear him make a comment about Chris Christy, and you're going to hear something else that Trump does extraordinarily well that others in politics just I don't think they don't have the acumen, the skill set, the personality to pull this off, and Trump does. When you enter into a competition with Trump, he

has the goal of obliterating you, right. I remember I was a long time ago, but I did play football back in back in the day, and I just remember between those sidelines and between the whistles, we weren't friends on the on the football field. If you were on the other team, and I was there. You know, we were there to win, we were there to compete. And I remember thinking, if you don't want to get hit, you, you know, don't come around, don't try to

block, don't don't grab the ball, don't suit up. That's what this game is. It's it's a physical game. It's changed a lot, my goodness. I know. The idea of a defenseless player, to me is is preposterous. I get the concept of I get the concept of trying to limit the concussions. I understand that. But my thinking always was if a receiver doesn't want to be defenseless, then don't die for the ball, right, I mean, you can make a decision to not go get it.

And that was, you know, back in the day, intimidation. That was one of the reasons these guys would wallop a guy coming across the middle. Was not they weren't trying to permanently disable or injure the man. They were trying to make him a dislodge the ball from him, but be mentally win that battle, so that if he was coming across the middle on the next player the next series, he had reservations, he didn't really want to

go in there and make that catch. That's an advantage for the defense anyway. The point is Trump has the same mentality. You step into the arena of competition with Trump to win the nomination to become president of the United States, whatever. If you were someone that was up against him in some business deal in New York City or anywhere around the world, you were his You were his enemy quote unquote until the decision was made or until you got out

of that business or whatever. Same thing happens here. This stuff is not I don't it's not personal for Trump. Now. I think there's lines it can be crossed that make it personal. And I think I think when he's looking at coming back to run against the machine, the swamp, whatever you want to call it, the seven pillars of propaganda, I think he would look at this and that is personal to him. But for the other these other folks that are running against him in the primary, it's not personal.

For Trump, it's not personal, and he's willing to shake hands and say, all right, now that you're not on the other side, we can get along and let's move this thing forward as Republicans. So Trump's asked here about his VP pick, which are the right questions. You know, it has to be maddening for these folks who are running against him. There's no attention paid to the debates because people are watching things like this. It's it's

embarrassing. I've said this before for the Republican Party, you know, the Republican Party. What are they supposed to do? I mean, are they supposed to cancel the debates? It's it's they're in a lose lose situation in a lot of ways. But but Trump steals the show. Trump is the presumptive nominee. Trump is targeted with everything that the left has, and there is a huge, massive amount of support people that are chomping at the bit

as I say. I know it's spelled with an A, and I know some say champing at the bit, and I'm telling you that just sounds wrong to me. It's chomping at the bit. And Trump supporters are ready to vote for him. They don't care what's going on in these debates. Doesn't mean that they don't ever want to see these folks again. But the guy is Trump, and so it's it's gotta be disheartening to candidates to see Trump being asked about who's your VP nominee. You know, you're the only person

on our stage. Everybody watching this. No one's watching when the rest of the folks are on stage debating because it seems insignificant because Trump is not there so much going on here. But I want to play this and I want you to listen to what Trump says about his VP pick and this olive branch of sorts that he's extended in a way here to Chris Christy would be in the running for a vice president? Well, I can't tell you that, really. I mean, I know who it's going to be. Give us

a hint. I'll give you. We'll do another show sometimes. What about any of the people who you've run against? Would you be open to mending fences with Well, I will, I've already started, like Christy vetter Christie for vice president. I don't see it. I don't see it. That would be an upset Christy for vice president, And gentlemen, I'd like to announce now I do want to get to this other question. So there you go. It's not going to be Christy for vice president. But he's ready

to mend fences. He likes him a lot better now, he says, because Hey, after all, you're not running against me for the Republican nomination, and you're not gonna be up there on stage. He might still be saying bad things about Trump, and I'm sure he will in some way, shape, manner or form. But anyway, Trump says, Hey, that's over and done with. I know my nominee. Have a good idea who

the nominee is gonna be. We can talk about that. Have me back on again, just the master of this stuff, right, And of course gets chuckles and the crowd loves it and so forth. So there you go. Trump is again. Trump is the Republican nominee. It's a formality, I know. Look and you'll hear me say this. I just think it's such a massive gap in the momentum and movement is behind Trump. It matters not what the polls say right now. It matters how these primaries and caucuses

go. But I think it is so abundantly obvious as to what is going to happen, what the American people, at least the Republican Party is ready to do when it comes to choosing their nominee for twenty twenty four. It's clear that it's Trump to me and these other folks are playing for a very very very distant second place, and I've got to take a time out with

my friends. Here we go, quick time out is in order. Should tell you my vast, vast, vast team of attorneys wants me to remind you that listening to this program may cause you to lean to the right. So exercise extreme I'm talking extreme levels of caution if you're driving a vehicle, if you're operating some type of heavy machinery, if you're just walking down the hallway carrying a cup of coffee or your kid, be careful of my friends,

because contents will cause you to lean to the right. Back here in just a minute, and welcome back, my friends. You might still be you might still be looking for changes to your insurance policy, whether that's an individual policy, whether that's a group policy. Maybe you own a business, maybe you work in HR at a business, or you are responsible for looking at the benefits and so forth at a company, whatever the case, individual,

health, group, health medicare. If you're looking for some policies or see what your options are. Again, I have shared on here before. Health insurance is supposed to increase five to eight percent in twenty twenty four, so it might be a good time to shop around find what other options are available. I encourage you to reach out to my friend Eric Wilson at isellhealth dot com. You can call Eric for a no cost consultation, totally free.

Eric's an expert on insurance. He's been doing this for twenty years now. I had to pause because since two thousand and four, and we just hit the two thousand and twenty four mark. Eric's been doing this for right about twenty years now, helping people all over this great nation. He's been invited on to speak to in interviews about the Affordable Care Act and just healthcare

as it pertains to the law and so forth. In lots of places you may have seen Eric, and in one of those places he's even been on this program when we've talked about Obamacare or healthcare in general. Give Eric a call. Eight one five three seven two thirteen sixty three. Eight one five three seven to two thirteen sixty three Eric Wilson. I Sell Health is Eric's

company. His website is I sell health dot com. Eric Wilson eight one five three seven two thirteen sixty three, or visit I sell health dot com He'll take good care of you. Eric's a great guy. So let's shift gears here a little bit as we get into the latter part of this program. So there was some drama on Wednesday, drama on Wednesday in our nation's capital, Hunter Biden, some drama there with him, and he is now through the House a couple of House committees, I think the Oversight and Judicial

Committee, it had to look. I don't have that in front of me at the moment, but a couple of committees have now formally recommended that Hunter Biden be held in contempt of Congress, be held in contempt of Congress. And so we've got that going on as well. Right, That's something that's going to be going on as we get into this the meat of this election here. So we got to keep our eyes on that. But we also have an exchange in exchange that Hunter Biden had with the journalists that I want

to talk about here this segment before we go to break. This is a FoxBusiness dot com headline here Hunter Biden defends including father on business calls. Quote, do you have a dad? Hunter Biden appeared before a House committee that is considering holding him in contempt of Congress. They have since said they recommend he be held in contempt of Congress, but this was written prior to that particular point in time. Here's what the article says. Hunter Biden defended including

his father on business calls with Ukrainian associates. While speaking to a Fox Business reporter on Wednesday, Hunter Biden was questioned by Fox Business Business is Hillary Vaughan after walking out of a house hearing that was the drama I referenced earlier as Representative Marjorie Taylor Green, the Republican from Georgia, began to question him about

President Biden's ongoing impeachment probe. Why did you put your dad on speakerphone during these business meetings if he had nothing to do with your business, Vaughn asked Biden as he left the Rayburn office building on Capitol Hill. And this is what Hunter said. This is what Hunter said. Do you have a dad? Does he call you? The first son asked in reply, yes, Vaughn said, do you answer the phone? Biden continued yes. Vaughn answered,

okay, Biden said, and that was his response. She continued, Vaughn said, yes, but why did you talk to him during business meetings if he had nothing to do with your business, it seems like a logical question, right, So remember remember where this all started. This is how the the the filth of the swamp, my friends, is I mean, it is completely just disgusting, beyond beyond belief. So you have you have

an individual Hunter Biden. And this is not about Hunter. This is I mean, there are certainly things that Hunter did that are i mean just crazy immoral. Some appear allegedly to be illegal, as it pertains to things we've read about a handgun and so forth. But just this is not about targeting the president's son. They want you to believe that. They want you to believe that so that Biden can go to the podium and say, man,

Hunter's been through some bad times. He struggled with drugs after he lost his brother, Beau, and that's tragic. That is absolutely tragic. And bo Biden passing away from from cancer. It was tragic. It was horrible. It was absolutely terrible. But then they get they can turn this from you know what, this evidence seems to suggest a reasonable person would ask into Let's

not get into the personal business of a family who's grieving. Let's not make this about Hunter Biden's drug habits or propensity to hire prostitutes allegedly or whatever things that we would that have been found on this laptop, laptop that we know is his. This isn't made up, This isn't Russian propaganda, as the fifty one intelligence officers told us in the days leading up to the twenty twenty election, This does not have the quote unquote hallmark of Russian propaganda and disinformation.

This was the real deal. They knew it back in twenty twenty. They didn't care. They know it today the run out of ways to defend it. Remember Biden. Joe Biden first said he had nothing to do, never ever talked about Hunter's businesses with Hunter, didn't even know, didn't even know what Hunter was up to. Just love and his son. Which fine, great if that was the case. But the problem is there's testimony from Devin Archer, who was the former best friend of Hunter Biden. It was

a business associate with Hunter Biden Ukraine. He was on that Bearisma board of directors with Hunter Biden, and he is testified. He has testified that Joe Biden on I believe he said either twenty or two dozen instances, to the best of his estimates, jumped on phone calls with Hunter Biden when Joe Biden, I believe was vice president jumped on phone calls with his son Hunter as he was making business deals with these associates. And why what was being said

there? That's really what this is about. What if your dad had nothing to do with your businesses, why was he jumping on the phone with you and talking to these these folks that you're trying to do business deals with. Explain that to us? And Hunter said, do you have a dad? Does he call you? Do you answer the phone? Okay, that's it, that's the questions that that's the way that Hunter Biden is trying to defend this. Well, I have a dad, a dad that I love and

care about. I will tell you this. I don't always pick up the phone when my father calls and write. For example, my dad called me right now, I wouldn't pick it up. I wouldn't pick it up, put him on speaker phone and let him talk to you. Although that might be quite entertaining if you knew my father, Actually that might make this show. I can think of very few things that would make this show better,

But that might be one, but we don't do that right. It's not that the person doesn't matter, but there's some instances that if I'm in the business meeting, if I'm working, if I'm mowing the grass, if I'm whatever, there's certain things where you just you can't take phone calls. What is he talking about? Right? What do you It's so preposterous. If you take the names out of this and you just read the words of this exchange, you can tell that this makes no sense what Hunter Biden is saying.

But there are people that are blinded deliberately to the truth. They don't want to know. Don't ask, don't tell. Just I want to vote for Biden. I'm riding with Biden in twenty twenty four. Doesn't matter. Now that says a lot about the person as well. My friends, timeouts in order. I wanted to share that this break or excuse me, this segment, but we're gonna take a quick time out listening here to conservative and not bitter talk. You've tuned in to listen to the one the only tot

Huff. Great decision you made, by the way today, Thanks for doing it. Sit tight, my friends. Back in just a minute. Welcome back, my friends, I want to share this with you. I don't know if you've seen seen this in the news, last segment of the week here. By the way, let me say this. If you this show airs Monday through Friday, and depending upon where you are, we're either on we may be on five days a week. You may be hearing this program

every day, which is great for your overall well being in health. In fact, that will help keep you inoculated against the dangers of liberalism out there.

And or I should say, but some markets, we you know, we're only on once a week, So if you want to hear this program throughout the week at your convenience, you can actually listen to our podcast, which is available on Apple Podcasts or Spotify or iHeartRadio or any number of podcast platforms wherever you like to listen to podcasts, or you can simply go to the website to I have showed dot com. I think it's slash listen. So, but I want to make sure I get to this by the end

of the week. This is a little bit lighthearted stuff here. As we as we get into there's so much to cut right, there's so much intensity out there. We've got an election. I'm telling you, this is going to be the most contentious year that America has had in modern times. Especially. It's almost no matter what happens, no matter what happens at this point, if Trump gets taken off the ballot, if Trump remains on the ballot, if Trump gets convicted, if Trump gets acquitted, if Trump whatever.

I mean, it's just the Left has invested decades into getting to where we are, and they are metaphorically millimeters inches from the finish line, and they are they can see that they're about to have a victory, or they think they are, and then along comes this guy named Donald J. Trump. So it's going to be contentious, intense, and all of that. There's no avoiding that. However, however, we can have a little bit of

fun with this. In fact, this was from This was from the actually in a hearing in Congress Representative Promila Jayapaul, who is a Democrat from the state of Washington. She is talking about Trump, and she's trying to say that Trump incited an insurrection. But instead of saying that, she says she says some thing altogether different. Here, hold on, here, my volume's too low. Here we are, she says, this instead many things.

But if we're going to talk about outrageous things that have happened or things that have never happened, let's talk about the fact that President Trump incited an erection. And maybe that too, and he could talk about that too. I guess maybe we should talk about that too. The president incited an insurrection. Mm hmmm. I think, my friends, I think, my friends. She realizes that the saying that Trump incited an insurrection is just as laughable as

saying that Trump incited an erection. I just can't I can't even believe I'm saying these words uttered from a committee hearing in Congress. Let's talk about the fact that President Trump, she says, incited and erection. Oh my goodness, Quick time out, my friends. You're listening here to conservative not better talk. I am your host, Todd huff back in a minute. Two quick things, my friends, Two quick things. As we wrap up for

the week. Number one, you might have seen that inflation has risen more than expected in December, pushing the annual rate of inflation to three point four percent. Just wanted to let you know that, in completely unrelated news, completely unrelated news, the Biden administration is out there blaming the media for making people think the economy is bad. That's in the stack of stuff as well. And the other thing I wanted to tell you here where is it I

got to hear in the stack of stuff. Well, I'll tell you this. If you've not read, if you've not read anything about this Fanny Willis, you should check that out. Oh here it is. Rice University is going to be offering afro chemistry to address quote the inequities in chemistry. Thank you Rice for taking care of that. And of course there's all kinds of other stuff that's crazy going on in the world as well. But I've got to wrap up, my friends. You have a wonderful weekend. We will
