Episode description

President Biden’s son, Hunter, was on trial for making a false statement to a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false claim on the application saying he wasn’t a drug user, and illegally having the gun. After three hours of deliberation, the jury found him guilty on all counts. This case could have implications for other second amendment cases.

Well, yes, my friends, and thank you Glenn for that absolutely stellar

introduction. It's a pleasure to be here today. You know the routine thoughts, questions, feedback, adoration and praise always sent, always can be sent Todd at totshow dot com, or if you prefer, you can text three one seven two one zero twenty eight thirty. I want to start today. I want to start today by talking about Hunter Biden's case. He was found guilty on all charges and there's an interesting I guess part two of this regarding

his conviction and a possible Supreme Court battle over the Second Amendment. We'll get to that. There's lots of other things, as always, in the stack of stuff. And again, if you want to see what's in the stack of stuff, you can do that, my friends, by going to our website Todd Huffshow dot com and you'll see the stack of stuff. Just click on it and you will be able to see the articles, the different things

that we reference here in the program. So before we get really rocket and rolling with Hunter Biden, let me tell you my friends at OZ and I here in the huff household recently started shopping at my USA shop club dot com. We're glad we did this, and it's no wonder why more than two million, two million folks households choose to shop with them each and every month. Our family loves that it's a Patriot owned and operated manufacturer that supports American

families and American values. That means you get a ditch. We get to ditch the left wing agendas that often are the result of donations made by these big conglomerates. We're also now getting a better, non toxic brand that saves us money. And of course, living here in Bidenomics, who could not use a little bit more money in their pockets. Everyone is busy today, busy busy world we live in, so having our ordership straight to the door

is also a huge bonus for us. Men. If you're like me, you are not the shopper in your household, but you still use these products. So take a moment pass along this information to the shopper in your household. My USA shop club dot Com is the website, and did I mention? Did I mention that my USA shop club also has beef, beef that's grass fed, beef that has no hormones, beef that has no antibiotics, beef that has no mRNA. Can check this out by visiting my USA shop

club dot com. You can put in your request to get started with them today. That's My USA shop Club dot Com. Sponsors and advertisers of The Toddhuff Show do not necessarily agree with the views, ideas, and opinions expressed on this program, but they absolutely should. So let's get to this case. Hunter Biden's verdict. The case of Hunter Biden, he's been found guilty on all counts in the gun trial. A couple of things I want to point out off the top. Number one, no one in the Huff household

popped any bottles of champagne. It did not look like the locker room of the NBA Finals after winning game whatever game it was, the fourth game in the series. Thereby declaring yourself your team the NBA champions, whether that's going to be the Boston Celtics, which they're up two to zho, or the Dallas Mavericks who have quite the hill in front of them. But regardless,

regardless, we didn't have those celebrations like the left did. You do not hear me gleefully telling you today, as Sunny Houstin told us in the wake of the Trump conviction, that I can now I now can I now can call Hunter Biden a convicted felon. I get nothing from this. This means nothing to me. It's silly, it's vengeful. It's not the way that

we should think about these things. Now, if you are one who believes that justice has not been pursue in this country for some time, or at least in certain instances like this, people who are protected by the left, and I think of people like those that are on Epstein's list for just one of many possible examples here. If you're happy to see that justice is served, I understand that. But you're happy that justice is served, you're happy

for justice to be the result of a particular case. You're you're not gloating, you're not pounding your chest, you're not dancing in the streets because Hunter Biden was convicted. That tells me a lot about a person if that's the behavior that's exhibited. So we don't do that. That's not the way at all that I look at this, and it's not the way that this should be looked at. So the jury deliberated just for a total of three hours. I'm looking at an article here at Foxnews dot com, which again is

in the stack stuff. Hunter Biden was found guilty of making a false statement in the purchase of a gun, making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federally licensed gun dealer, and possession of a gun by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance. Now, I don't take any I'm remarkably consistent around here, my friends. I don't take pleasure. I don't take pleasure in Hunter Biden's life story.

I don't. That doesn't do it for me that that is a sad existence in my opinion. And I don't say that in some condoning way or excuse me, in some way of condemnation. Is what I said. What I meant to say, I don't condemn this. I mean I condemned the behavior, but I'm not attacking him personally, I'm just saying the choices that he's made have really can havoc on his life and the lives of those around him. I mean, it's it's a terrible thing. And this happens,

This happens with addiction. In fact, I've got in the stack of stuff a political contributor at MSNBC. She has written a piece basically, I guess, kind of chastising Republicans for as she frames it or kind of tries to position it's going after Hunter Biden for his addiction. This isn't going after him for his addiction. These are laws on the books. And see this,

my friends, is exactly you compare and can trast this? You compare and can trast this with what's happened to Donald Trump and what's happened to Hunter Biden. You look at these two things. Number One, the average person can explain to you they if they followed this case, they have to have the information. But the average person could explain to you what Hunter Biden did.

The average person cannot explain to you why Donald Trump was convicted. The average person cannot go through and explain that the charges that Trump was actually brought uh brought the trial for were misdemeanors. They had to be tied to a had to be tied to a felony, and that felony per the jurors. Excuse me, The judges instructions to the jury did not even have to be consistent.

The jury could have picked different felonies that they thought Trump convicted in order to tie those misdemeanors to them, thereby making them they're by making them felonies because they're tied to another underlying felony for which he could be tried, and the statute of limitations didn't run out. In fact, that's just scratching the surface. There wasn't a bunch of shenanigans regarding things that the judge was ruling. And and I know, look, Trump, Trump definitely is is a

part of this equation. I understand that. But let me say this, if what his if what he claims is true, and I believe that it is that he's being targeted because of his politically, I honestly think this is undeniable. But if what he's saying is true, I would say that the things he's saying and doing are absolutely warranted. This is as some call it law fair. This is the depart weaponization, I should say, of our Department of Justice, and so I understand that. But this was a completely

different trial, the Hunter Biden situation. The average person can explain to you the charges. The average person can explain to you what happened. Connect the dots. It makes sense. And now he's going to face sentencing. By the way, these charges, these charges carry with them a maximum penalty I believe, of twenty five years in prison. I'm not going to be out there clamoring there it is. Hunter Biden faces a total maximum prison time of

twenty five years for the three charges. Each count also carries a maximum fine of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in three years of supervised But as the article points out, Hunter Biden is a first time offender, making it unlikely he will face maximum penalties when he is sentenced at a later date. You're not gonna hear me like you hear the left arguing and clamoring and begging for Hunter Biden to go to prison. If that is what the judge declares decides

is necessary. Whatever that is, so long as it is within reason and the typical way that cases are handled, there's consistency there and so forth. Then I support that if the judge goes bonkers on the guy, throwing him in the hole and that sort of thing, that's not good, even though he's on the other side of the political law. I don't know why this has to well, I do know why it has to be said today. It's a sad state of affairs that this country is in. These words have

to be uttered. These words should be the same measured response that we see from the left when it comes to Trump. But of course we know it won't be that way, because it's not about justice. It's about retribution. It's really about political obstruction. It's about election interference. It's about an assault on our democracy so that Republicans don't get to choose who they want to be their commander in chief president of the United States. They fear this man.

The left fears Donald J. Trump more than I mean anything. It's remarkable how much fear and angst and heartbreak and just abject fear Trump causes to ignite in the hearts of those who are on the other side of the aisle. They will do whatever they can. I've said this before We'll do whatever they can to stop President Trump, whatever it takes, as long as it takes them, so long as it takes Trump out of the White House. Emphasis

on, whatever whatever it takes. There is nothing, there is absolutely nothing that they will stop at suit of Donald Trump, and I mean nothing. And the reason for this is because their worldview is rooted in moral depravity.

There is no objective right and wrong in the moral the radical left worldview, and so therefore there's nothing that they can do in their minds that is not justified to stop Trump, because Trump's existence in our government to them is the greatest sin of all, and whatever it takes, they will do it. Again. Comparing and contrasting that to the response to Hunter Biden, I take

no pleasure at this. The book should not be thrown at him in any way because he is a Biden. We shouldn't have extra charges, you know, basically thrown into the mix here because we don't like the guy, or because we don't like his political affiliations or any of that stuff. That's unacceptable in any fair system of justice. So, now that being said, this has also opened a interesting next potential step in this process, and I'll get to that here in a moment. But before I do that, let me

remind you my friends My Pillow, My Pillow, Mike Lindell. They've of course been canceled by this rabbit cancel culture that we face today. They've been hit by losing some big box stores, they've been hit by losing some of their shopping channels, and so they have put all of their focus essentially on providing products directly to you through their website. Now, they've always done this, but they've always before this, before they've been targeted by the Left.

They've they've also, in addition to that, had these other outlets, the big box stores, excuse me, the big box stores, and the shopping channels and all that. They've lost all that. So they've they've really ramped

up their direct to consumer model. And so you can go to their website now and as a part of that as a part of building that up, as a part of trying to give you as much that they can as far as value is concerned, to get you to check out the website and see the products, because there's a lot of products there that honestly, I didn't even know when we started working with My Pillow. I didn't realize all of these products, we use some of them, I by no means use all

of the products. There's so many, and you can check them out at my pillow dot com slash todd. That's my pillow dot com slash tod. They get this twenty five dollars extravaganza where they have a whole list of products that are only twenty five dollars, including, for the first time ever, the premium My Pillow with all new Giza fabric, any size, any loft

By the way, my friends, you can you can tell them how much loft, how much, how much what stuff stuff you want them to put in your pillow, how firm or how soft you want it to be. There's different settings. So no matter what you pick, no matter this size of the pillow, and no matter how much loft, all of these even the king sized pillow, which is what which is what I use, is just twenty five bucks. for more information. Okay, now, so we're talking about Hunter Biden here, we're talking about it. We just kind of went through the charges. He's been found guilty. The jury deliberated for three hours. Conservatives, I can't speak for all conservatives, but for me, I'm not celebrating this. I'm happy to see what it appears to be a very straightforward case that is rooted in justice unfold before our eyes. No shenanigans, no political retribution,

no weaponization of the Department of Justice. Just someone who's committed a crime who is tried before a jury of his peers. There is not, to my knowledge, been any Facebook posts in the wake of this saying that somebody's cousin on the jury was excited to have the opportunity to convict to convict Hunter Biden. None of that. I didn't see any of that, and I hope I don't, by the way, like we did see this in Trump's case. Anyway, So all that stuff is happening, We're waiting for the next

step, which would be sick and sing. But along comes another little development from all of this. Now this is interesting headline here. I'm looking at the Daily Bs. This is actually Bo Snurdley's website. For those of you that were fans of Rush, you'll remember the name Bo Snurdly. After Rush had passed, I think it was that he might have done this before. I don't think that he did, though, But after Rush passed away several years ago, Bo Snurdley started this website, the dailybs dot com bs for

Bo Snurdly, and that's where I find That's where this article is. Hunter Biden's conviction may have just teed up the next major Supreme Court of the United States. Second Amendment Battle, written by Caitlin Richardson. This is traced back to the Daily Caller News Foundation, so it might reside on that website too, I don't know, but this is I found that here at the Daily BS with Bo Snurdley. So let me read a portion of this, and

this is gonna move into the second segment as well. But here we go. While there's a high likelihood Hunter Biden's attorneys will mount a Second Amendment challenge to appeal his Tuesday conviction, legal experts say the odds of gun rights activists securing a Supreme Court victory through a case bearing the Biden family name are not

as certain. Many Second Amendment scholars think Hunter Biden has a strong second suit, me a strong constitutional defense on at least one count his conviction under the law banning firearm possession for anyone who is quote an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance. Pause that you will remember what I read? Those charges? The charges, the three charges he was tried for and convicted of. By the way, in Trump's case, you know in Trump's case is

his defense team didn't even know all of the charges brought against him. This is a fundamentally important basic The charges came out throughout the precedings, the actual proceedings. So normally the right the person who was accused of a crime, the state has to present to them here are the charges that are against you. Now, that happened to some degree with Trump, but some of the charges were not actually brought to light until the trial itself. That's not the

way that it's supposed to work. So Hunter Biden was presented with three of these these three charges, the defense knew what they had to defend him against. They were, through the discovery process, given access to all of the the evidence and so forth, and so that they're able to mount a defense. This is an important part of the process. And so one of those charges you will have remembered when I read it, was this charge that said,

what's the actual there? It is? So there's a law that banned firearm possession for anyone who is quote an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance. That was one of the charges. Now, what this article is pointing out is that that charge that he was convicted of could create an interesting case before the Supreme Court. In fact, the author writes this, while this appeal could tee up an interesting Supreme Court case, the president's son

facing facing off against gun policies his father has long supported. Legal expertise spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation had mixed views on whether the argument would ultimately prevail. So it's an interesting situation. So you could have Hunter Biden potentially challenging charges that he was convicted of, potentially or potentially not, but potentially challenging gun crimes that he was convicted of that his father is long supported these

types of gun crime charges. So we'll see how this plays out. I'm gonna continue talking about this, but I'm up against the clockier folks. Before I do that, though, let me remind you that I sell health. They are here to help you, to help you navigate your individual health insurance

need, group health insurance needs, even Medicare needs. Health insurance premiums are slated to go up five to eight percent in twenty twenty four, and so it makes good sense to just review that to see if you're getting the best bang for your buck, to see if there's a better policy out there, to see if there's a way to maybe shave a little bit off of your premiums. I don't know, but Eric is one that knows how to navigate that. Eric Wilson of I sell Health, He's been a partner of this

program, a friend of this program. He's served clients throughout the country since two thousand and four. That's twenty years for those Democratic socialists who may be tuned in today. He's an expert in the Affordable Care Act. Not necessarily a fan of that. He just knows, he just understands it. He's here to help you. He's here to put that expertise to work for you

at asolutely free no cost consultation. You can call Eric eight one five three seven two thirteen sixty three eight one five three seven two thirteen sixty three, or you can visit him online at I sell health dot com. So that being set timeouts in order. When we get back, I want to pick up this potential next step in the Hunter Biden saga. I guess where now there could be a challenge to a law that his father has been a supporter

of. So Hunter Biden may one of the three crimes he's found guilty of, maybe going maybe sentence for a crime that some question the validity of the charges in relation to the Second Amendment of the Constitution, and it's a policy that Joe Biden, his father, has long since supported. Interesting dynamic there,

but at timeouts in order here, sit tight, my friends. You're listening to Conservative Dot Better Talk. I am your host Hot Huff back in a minute in the back of my friends, just going through the I guess the fallout, the next potential step after the conviction of Hunter Biden. Again, no celebration here in the Huff studio. We don't do that. We're about justice, not about political retribution, not about trying to harm those who

have different political viewpoints than us just because they do. It's not about this being an election, yeer, It's about justice. It's about justice. It's a fresh breath of air in a world that seems to be totally consumed with the politics of getting even the politics of retribution. Anyway, we're talking here about a potential showdown, showdown between well, what's going to happen next after this conviction. So I'm looking at an article here again at the Daily BS,

which is bos Snurly's website. Hunter Biden's may have just ted up the next major Supreme Court battle on the second Amendment. Here we go the argument. I'm going back to this article. Here. The argument will go that general drug use around the time of gun purchase is insufficient, that the Second Amendment only permits lawmakers to address drug or alcohol use at the very time of

purchase. Former federal prosecutor Joseph Moreno told the DCNF the Daily Caller News Foundation it is unlikely this argument will go very far, but it's why Hunter's attorney made such a big deal about it. At trial, Hunter Biden's legal team moved to dismiss the case based on the Second Amendment before the trial begins under and that's fascinating. You got his defense team using the Second Amendment, which

the left was to completely eradicate Hunter Biden. I don't know personally, I can't say, but he's definitely part of a family that has no respect for the Second Amendment. Now his attorneys are defending what he did under the protection of the Second Amendment. It's just a fascinating series of events here. Under the Supreme Courts ruling in New York State Rifle and Pistols Association Versus Bruin u e En, where it held that gun restrictions must be consistent with the nation's

quote historical tradition of regulation. The statute is indefensible, his attorneys argued, So there's a whole showdown here regarding what could potentially happen, What could potentially happen just one of the three charges, one of the three charges are being questioned in regards to the Second Amendment of the United States. And so in short, it's saying, look, the Second Amendment prevents or excuse me,

allows allows all Americans. It's again not what allows it. It's recognizing that we have a gift of God to arm ourselves, to protect ourselves from any enemy we deem a threat, whether that's an individual personal threat who's harassing or trying to harm one's family, or whether it's the tyrannical government itself. We have a right, a God given right, and the Second Amendment just takes

time to acknowledge that right. And so drug use, drug use around the time that one is using the gun is a much different thing than drug use in general when one simply has a gun. And that's the distinction here. That's the distinction here that they say, hey, look, just because somebody's has used drugs in and around the time that they purchased a gun. That doesn't mean that they're using the gun under the influence of said drug, and

so that's a violation of the Second Amendment. And so but it's interesting that now the left, members of the left, the Democrat Party are making have at least made some of these arguments. Of course, an attorney has to do his or her best job to protect their clients at trial. And I'm glad this stuff comes up. I really, I mean, I am this actually in a weird way, could lead us to a situation where this could

potentially strengthen how the Second Amendment is is actually interpreted. I don't know if that's the case, but it's just an interesting, interesting development. So now something else that's happened out there. Something else that's happened out there. This is where are we here? There's a political contributor on MSNBC. MSNBC here we go. She This is at MSNBC dot com. Again it's in the stack of stuff. She's written a piece, an opinion piece. Here here's

the headline. Her name, by the way, is Mala Jong Fast and she's also a special correspondent for Vanity Fair. She hosts a podcast Fast Politics with Molly jong Fast, and she's written a piece here at MSNBC. This is the title, Republicans going after Hunter Biden for his addiction are playing a dangerous game. Seating jurors who have experiences with addiction does not make a jury sympathetic, it makes it informed. So basically, I'm not going to read

this whole piece, but she was, she struggled as an alcoholic. Again, again, I'm not celebrating this. I'm not going to personally attack her for this. These are things that the media, the seven Pillars of propaganda, the radical left, will do to people that they don't like, they don't like their politics. They will attack them personally, they will try to degrade them because of you know, suffering from these things like addiction and so

forth. But with this particular individual, Molly junk Fast, she was an alcoholic. She admits it here. She's been sober, and good for her, she's been sober for twenty I think she wrote twenty six years. It was something like that, and she basically said, I'm twenty six years sober, she says, but her last drink. Think about this, Her last drink was at age nineteen, she said, so her last drink, she's never had a legal drink. She wrote this in the piece. She started

drinking when she was very very young. I mean very very young. It was single digits, I believe. I don't want to say the number because I don't have it right at my fingertists. But she was very very young. And she's been twenty six years sober. That's fantastic, that's a great

thing. But if you read this piece, you'll remember back at the beginning, when they were selecting jurors the prosecution, the prosecution was trying to make sure that there were jurors that did not struggle with addiction, substance abuse, that sort of thing, because the thinking was, the thinking was, if they suffer from those things, they might be more sympathetic to acquit someone because

they might find the law to be a little bit unfair. They might give, you know, just have a personal connection to Hunter's struggles and then allow that to influence their decision and so forth. And so she went out here and basically said, hey, I know what it's like. I'm sober now, she writes, but I'll always be an addict. And the addict is as much me, excuse me, this. Sorry, this is she's quoting here, actually Hunter Biden's text to his girlfriend at the time, Zoe Keston.

The addict is as much me as the me that you love to hate Hunter Biden. Roy. You read some of these messages that Hunter's got on that laptop. I mean it's it's something else. But anyway, So she's basically saying, here, hey, Republicans, quit hating on people who have

substance abuse. To the left does this, The left does this. Now, let's notwithstanding this ruling on the Second Amendment, Like, if we really get to this point where they challenge this and this is actually hurt in you know, courts and the appeals process, and it goes potentially, who knows, to the Supreme Court. This may be very unlikely, This may be

possible, This may be slightly likely. I don't know. But notwithstanding what the ruling on that would be, there are there's at least a rationale for saying we want to we want to have some sort of you know, law pertaining to drug use and the use of firearms. I mean, for obvious reasons, right, for obvious reasons. If someone is under the influence of a drug, they are much more likely to use a weapon in a way

that's unjustifiable because they're not. They're in a state of being under the influence of some substance, and they might they're not going to be thinking clearly, it's a different scenario. So you can see at least the thinking on where the law comes from. This is not an attack on substance abuse. The Left does this with everything. If you don't, if you don't just act like there's nothing wrong with these things or there's no negative consequences, then you

somehow hate the person who suffers from the particular ailment. It's the same thing, by the way, with the transagenda, which, by the way, that's what I want to get to in the last segment here. But the Left does this. Isn't that Hunter Biden's case is not about substance abuse. Yes, it's about drugs and having the laws that are trying to prevent people who are under the influence of drugs from purchasing and potentially using or the higher

risk of using a firearm, maybe in a dangerous or illegal way. That's that's the point of that law. It's not because we're targeting people who have substance abuse or that we issues or that we hate them. That's nothing could be further from that. This is silly, silly stuff. Anyway, you can read her piece. It's on the stack of stuff. I'm going to

take a break here. We're gonna shift gears into the transin well, something that's happened with the Olympic media, the media directions for folks covering the Olympics has something to say about how trans athletes are to be referenced in the upcoming Olympics here in what a month or two whatever that is. So I'll get to that in the next segment, but I'm out of time here this segment. Sit tight, my friends. You're listening here to conservative not bitter talk.

I am your host, the one and only benevolent host behind the microphone here Todd Huff back in just a minute and welcome back to my friends. Here we are time flies listening to this program. I know we're in the final hour or excue me, the final segment of this hour of the program.

And just as in the last segment, just as in the last segment, we had an individual try to say, if you have laws pertaining to firearms and people who are struggling with substance abuse, just as though, just as you don't hate them, but you also see that there's a clear issue there, something that we need to at least be mindful of, potentially create laws to protect bad things from happening. At least you can make the case. I'm not here to go through all the philosophy of that at the moment.

I'm just saying that there's a connection, right that. It doesn't mean that you hate the people. It just means that, hey, there's a

reason that these laws exist. Likewise, if you are talking about people in a sport at the Olympics, if you're a member of the media and there's a a big, a big muscular, biological male who's competing against women and beating them by you know, huge distances and events, or you know, lifting much heavier weights than them, or whatever, you might at least find it relevant to point out that this person is a biological mal The media guidelines

have come out on how to talk about these folks, and I want to share that with you. But before I do that, let me remind you my friends. Nick Knack Naturals is here to help you crush your vice. It's an American small business prioritizes customer health, and it focuses on giving users of nicotine a naturally better alternative than smoking, than vaping, than tobacco use.
