Episode description

Former presidential candidate, Nikki Haley, said on Wednesday that she’ll vote for Donald Trump in November. She previously said he wasn’t qualified to be Commander in Chief.

Given the current state of our country, it’s crazy to think it’s a hard decision to decide who to vote for. There is nothing the current administration has done to improve this nation or help its people.

believe at first glance. Okay, as the case was yesterday, a significant amount of stuff in the stack of stuff Nikki Hayley. Oh yes, I've been waiting breathlessly to see who Nikki Haley was going to in who she was going to vote for president. I have been waiting to get my cues as to who I would vote for in twenty twenty four, whether it be Biden or Trump. I don't understand how anybody's in all seriousness, even considering having

trouble with this. This is the most This is one of the starkest choices politically electorally speaking that we've had in this country, and there's more hanging in the balance than there has been in the past. But nonetheless, she has told us who she's going to vote for, and I guess that there's people out there that are waiting for that. I don't understand it, But nonetheless she's made an announcement. CNN is not happy. CNN, I should say,

is not happy with that announcement. I'll get to that. Boy. There's just a bunch of stuff. That's where I want to start today. By the way, Scotty Scheffler, the golfer who was arrested the morning of what day number two of the PGA Championship of the Major last week for it was a crazy, crazy story. It appeared that the charges were going to be dropped, but now it appears, according to reports, there's not The charges are not going to be dropped. There's lots of things to get to

The war is being waged against truth. And so I think we have to take extra effort to reach out and support the

people that are not going to be adversaries of the truth. People like my Pillow just as an example. They've got good products. You know, we need to remember these folks when we're shopping for things that they sell, or maybe you just want to support them. My pillow dot com slash Todd promo code Todd saves you on the shipping costs of that of your order. There, So let us begin. Let us begin here by the headline that I know you've all been waiting for. You didn't know who you were going to

vote for until Nicky Haley told you recently told all of us yesterday. I mean I have been waiting here, not knowing what to talk about, many days, waiting for Nicki Haley to tell us who she's going to be voting for. And after much waiting and anticipation and the ringing of hands. Nicki Haley has come out and says that she will vote for president former President Donald J. Trump in November. So, first of all, congratulations Nicki Haley

on finding the correct answer to the question. I don't know why it took so long. I truly don't know why it took so long. I don't know if it was all about posturing and negotiating and trying to maybe get a vice presidential opportunity. I don't know, because this is not hard, and you know, I want to go back. I want to go back. And this is not personal against Nicki Haley. This is his craziness. To

me, this is craziness. I remember back in twenty sixteen to this, I went to this event in South Carolina with Heritage Foundation and they had at the time, there were seventeen candidates. Seven it was in twenty fifteen, but it was during the twenty sixteen campaign. But if you remember, there were a lot of Republicans vying for the nomination, and one of those candidates was a guy by the name of Donald J. Trump. So there were

seventeen candidates at the time. Heritage had an event where the name of the town is escaping me a nice little town. Maybe it'll come to me as I'm talking here. But anyway, go to this event and they invited every candidate to speak. I mean, I'm talking candidates. Bobby Jendall was there, Ted Cruz was there, Ben Carson was there, Carly Fiorina was there. Who else am I forgetting? Marco Rubio was there, Chris Christie was there, Lots of folks. I mean, this was back when the field

was very, very full. But sixteen of those folks showed up. One of those folks didn't, and I forget the reason why. I think Trump said he had was closing a business deal or something. It was something like that, and could not make could not make the event. So we heard from sixteen of the seventeen. And I remember even talking to a good friend of mine back in those days, he was under the impression Trump doesn't want to show up there because he's going to he's not a real conservative, Todd.

He doesn't want to show up there in a conservative place and get boot off the stage. Of course, what ended up happening was the exact opposite. The other sixteen that were there did not win the nomination and Trump took it home with the support, with the bombastic support of the people that would find themselves in attendance at that event back in twenty fifteen in South Carolina.

And so Nikki Haley was not at well, she was at the event because at the time she was governor, and I remember there was like a little little side event and she was speaking, you know, in the tent or so, I don't know, she was down addressing a lot of a lot of people that had access to that kind of pre event or whatever. And I just remember some of the things that were being said about, you know, her at the time, and the excitement about her as a candidate.

Of course, she she wasn't running back then, but nonetheless, nonetheless it was clear that she had political ambitions. And that's I mean, that's fine. I mean, that's there's nothing, I guess wrong with that. You could have clearly have the wrong motivations, but there's nothing wrong with that in

and of itself. But she and the other folks that jumped in in this year's primary, and I mean, you know, Mike Pence, I don't include Vivek Ramaswami in this because I think I think he's the one person that benefited from this, but every other one of these folks have shown to me. And this is not personal. I know, I mean, I know that there's especially here in this my home base, there's a lot of people that are you know, connected to or supportive of Pence, so that that

whole thing's crazy. That that whole thing's crazy. So this isn't personal for Pence. But just pause that for a moment. I remember, I remember in twenty sixteen when Pence took the nomination, the vice presidential nomination, when he was offered that as Trump's running mate, and he took it, and people said, this is going to be the end of Pence. This was Pence basically ending his own political future. This there's no more future for Pence,

and it's because he's attached himself to Trump. And of course nothing could have been further from the truth than. In fact, the actual death knell for the Pence well, for Pence's political ambitions, was his separation from Trump. The ability or the lack of ability from from some folks to properly analyze what's going on, acknowledge what's going on, to be able to put their to put words in their mouth that they maybe don't want to say because of

personal preferences or hatred for Trump or whatever. It is crazy to me. It is crazy to me, the lack of discretion and wisdom here, because the folks that jumped in to run against him exactly what we all knew would happen. What I was saying from this microphone months ago is exactly what played out. It's exactly what played out. It was they were that they were

totally embarrassed by this whole side show Shenanigan. And again, look I am not and again I don't put Ramaswami in that group because he's the one who I think kind of ran his campaign masterfully because he was able to not burn the bridge with Trump, and he was able to in many cases defend Trump, in some cases being the lone defense of Trump on those debate stages or in that campaign, in that primary. Anyway, it's just crumbled for these

folks, the lack of discretion. I don't know if they're blinded by the opportunity, meaning it looks so big and shiny that they just it catches the reflection of the sun and burns their ability to see, takes out their ability to see clearly from their eyes. I don't know, but this is again they have all been outplayed masterfully by Trump. Remember, Trump was supposed to

be the guy that didn't understand politics. Trump's supposed to be this guy who's clueless, who's on some sort of maniacal, self indulgent campaign of his own desires and so forth. And meanwhile these folks are falling, falling left and right, and so Nikki Haley eventually was the last of these candidates to fall. And by the way, these folks were making no mistake about this.

Again, I hold a caveat to say, I don't want to put Ramaswami in this group, although there's still probably some truth to that he would fall into this group at this particular point that I'm about to say here. But

the entire campaigns of these folks were a campaign of opportunity. The campaign was designed was predicated upon the idea that Trump was going to be taken out during the political witch hunt that he is enduring from the deep state, from the bureaucratic state, from the lovers of government through the Biden administration, the weaponization

of the DOJ. That was what their entire campaigns were built upon the only way they could beat Trump is if Trump was not allowed to play the game, and that's what they bet on. And so as such, everything they said really was contingent upon their not being a Trump in the campaign. So that made them de facto just kind of by default. They ended up on the side of the Department of Justice, on the side of Jacksmith. Again, I carve out a caveat for Ramaswami because of the way he handled it

personally. But that's what this campaign looked like. Now it's in shambles. All this stuff is in shambles. Nikki Haley makes an announcement she'll vote for Trump. That's an announcement she should have made. She should have been able to make the second that she suspended her campaign and dropped out of the race. That shouldn't require any amount of thinking, reflection or anything of the sort. That's something that you should say. Look, I made my run,

I was unable to succeed. Donald Trump is going to win this nomination. I think I'm a better candidate. However, I am putting my support behind Donald Trump because we cannot, in any way, shape, manner, or form endure four more years of what we have under President Joseph Robinette bribery. That's what should have been said. That shouldn't have taken thirty seconds, that

shouldn't have taken point three seconds for Nicky Hayley to announce. And for those who have and just have this struggle, my mind is truly just I cannot comprehend it. I cannot comprehend it. I don't know if it's because I think some of it is people think that they're personally connecting themselves and endorsing every I don't know, every tweet, every behavior that Donald Trump has ever made. I mean, why would someone think that. It's craziness to me to

think that? I mean, my friends, when you get when you get married, you're not you're not saying that everything my spouse did I agreed with. Heck, I don't agree with everything that I do. Sometimes I think, boy, I shouldn't have done that, And I just I don't understand this. I don't understand. I think that there's a certain degree of for some folks. I think there's this degree of what's the what's the phrase that we use? Now, we're basically we're a virtue signaling, right, It's

it's saying, look, I can't even associate the guy. The guy is such a terrible person, I can't I can't even bring myself to vote for him. Meanwhile, the other guy, the other guy is involved with the

political party that is arguing for abortion up until the point of birth. The other guy is running a party that has has decimated the US economy, that has decimated the US border, that, by the way, has caused in some cases, actual death to American citizens, whether it's through crimes committed by people that should not be here, whether it's from crimes of people that should not be here and who were released back into the general population, whether it's

from drugs coming across the border that are killing people. I mean, it's quite literally that decision has taken lives apparently, No problem with that, No problem with that whatsoever. Inflationary problems, financial crises that are created by the ideology of the morally bankrupt radical left, and folks cannot seem to understand that that is hurting families in dramatic ways, in real ways. Forgive me for

not caring about a stupid tweet. Forgive me for not caring, By the way, I would like a list of these tweets that are so offensive. Is it Kofifi? Is that the tweet? I mean, I just I don't know what happened to this country. What happened to this country to where this is a real conversation. We have real problems in this country, and we're instead of finding the real problems, addressing the real problems, we are quibbling about the way that someone talks about the problems. I just it's mind

blowing to me. I've used the analogy or the I guess, the metaphor of being on the Titanic and the Titanic sinking. The Titanic, in this metaphor is our country. We are taking on water, my friends. We're taking on water by high inflation. We're taking on water by weakening our border, weakening our well, our culture, this trans agenda, the stuff that's being thrust upon our children, We're taking on water. The ship is sinking. I'm not saying it can't be salvage so it doesn't have I'm just for

the sake of this metaphor. And you know, there are people clinging to the deck trying to figure out how to navigate this, how to survive this. And someone says something that you know, may be considered a curse word, and it's like stopping and addressing that person and chastising that person for using a four letter word, when in reality, the real problem is the stinking

ship is sinking. Like what sort of what sort of perspective is one have to have to quibble about those things that have nothing to do with the overall larger picture. It doesn't mean, it doesn't mean that you're endorsing the use of four letter expletives. I mean, I I criticize those as they happen, which they happen on a regular basis. If you listen to the left long enough, they start letting them fly left and right. But I just that's not the main issue. I mean, there are there are much bigger

problems. Yeah, that's that's something that I would like to I would like to think that we could clean up the culture too, But I mean, my goodness, we're not going to clean up the culture until we win on these bigger issues. We're not going to have the funds, the energy, the people to fight the culture to engage in what needs to happen politically. If if they can't survive financially, I mean, that's the place that we're in and to have to take time to contemplate who she's voting for is baffling

to me. I mean, I know, I'm sure there's all sorts of things going on behind the scenes. Again, maybe maybe they were negotiating for a place, a seat at the table, a place in the cabinet. I don't know. Wouldn't surprise me. But this just on face value, if you have to stop and contemplate and think about these choices, I mean, as a human being, I respect you, but that's crazy to me.

I would suggest going and filling a cupful of cold water and dumping it over your head if that's the case, and giving your smack yourself across the face and say wake up, talk to yourself in the mirror, and say there are real problems. This is a stark contrast between what happens under Trump and what happens under Biden. These two things are not even in the same

universe. By voting for Trump, I'm not endorsing every single thing the guy has said and done over the course of his lifetime, every single tweet. Instead, I am supporting him because the America that he will help us return to is dramatically and drastically and measurably objectively better in every conceivable way. It is objectively better, measurably better than what we have under this administration. That

is beyond that is beyond any argument whatsoever. There is nothing, there is literally nothing, nothing, that this administration has done to improve the state of this nation. Since they have taken over power of the controlled the executive branch take it should take a reasonable person point zero zero one seconds to decide, as in the case of Nikki Hayley here if she's going to support Trump or Biden. So more to say on this than other related things on the other

sea. And it's not happy about this, by the way, But on the other side of the break, we'll get to that. But let me remind you, my friends, that heart disease has taken the lives of seven hundred thousand Americans in each of the last two years. I've got to take a break with my friends.

You're listening here to the Home of Conservative not Bitter Talk. I am your host, the one, the only Tod huff back in just a minute, I'll come back to my friends. So I told you that CNN our friend Stephen Collinson is not happy that Nikki Haley is going to vote for President Donald Well, vote for Donald Trump to be president of the United States. So he's not happy about that. I've got a piece of his that I'm going to share with you here in a moment, or at least part of it.

But before I do that, my friends, you know, one of the things that again I kind of alluded to this earlier, but I think that I'm not a fan of the cancel culture at all. Meaning we sit here with a little book of you know, of judgments, and we if someone gets a single tally in the in the column that says I don't agree with that, I'm going to make them suffer financially. I don't agree with

that. But there's something different. There's something different between that sort of nitpicking, altruistic virtue signaling self righteous behavior, versus coming to the realization that there are there are places that I give my money that are not just doing things that I disagree with, but they're actually absolutely fighting directly against my values, my culture, They're fighting against truth, and you just can't participate in that.

There's a difference there. There's something that's different about the two. You're not looking for reasons to say toe the line, toe the politically correct line for the day or else, if they're embracing, supporting funding things that are truly evil, dangerous to our children, dangerous to our liberties, and I think we have an obligation to consider other ways, consider other ways to direct

those dollars. I think that we have an obligation, and that's why I've brought to my USA shop club dot com My USA shop club dot com. They have over four hundred and fifty non toxic household and personal care products. These are products that you're using types of products, maybe not the same brand, but the same types of products. Sleep Better, Breathe easier, Join the movement of health and patriotism. At my USA shop club dot com. You can go to get the details on you know, how that works and how you can place your order there. Our family does this. I think it's worth looking into my friends my USA shop club dot

com to get the details. So let's look at this CNN Peace. Stephen Collinson is very upset, got his feelings hurt. I don't know if he was hoping. Nicki Haley would say she was voting for Joseph Robinette Bribery. I'm not sure, but the headline here says Haley will vote for Trump for the Trump quote chaos that she wants decried, She decried it. The political calculation has changed again for Nicki Haley. You can almost feel the emotion coming

out of this. You feel the she's by the way you talk about someone that's canceled by the left, Nicki Haley, You're about to get the most the most amount of hate and opposition you've ever seen because this, you know she was Nicki Haley was the choice of the Democrat Party and liberals and the media and the seven pillars of propaganda. When you find this, you find

this over and over. The media will only cozy up to Republicans if the media, excuse me, if the Republican that they're CosIng up to is a person that is opposing what Republicans should be rallying around. So the media loved Nicki Haley when she stood in stark direct opposition to President Donald J. Trump. But now, oh now, my friends, it's a completely completely different ballgame and situation now, especially that she's announced that she's supporting voting for President

Trump. Not long ago, Stephen Collinson at CNN Politics Rights. The former South Carolina governor was arguing that Donald Trump was too old, too chaotic, two unhinged, and too prone to temper tantrums to be president again, and said he couldn't beat President Joseph Robinett Bribery. Hit the wrong button there, that took the screen away. Hold on here, I gotta go back. I feel no need to kiss the ring, Haley said in February before suspending

her primary campaign. Has she that's been that long ago? That didn't seem right. I'm sure it is, but that just seems like she lasted slightly longer than that. But apparently not. My political future is of no concern. I mean I think that that's I think that that's the reason for the delay. Forgive me for not buying that line. But anyway, On Wednesday, CNN Steven Collinson writes here she delivered the implicit endorsement everyone knew was coming.

Sooner or later. Haley said that walked Trump had not been perfect on issues that matter to her foreign policy in the national debt, Biden had been a catastrophe. Well, no kidden, no kidden. This was known by the way to NICKI Haley in February. Here we are in May. She's just now figuring this out. I don't know. I mean, if you're just now figuring this out, then you clearly don't have what it takes to be making political decisions. That's the way that I think this should be viewed.

So I will be voting for Trump, said the former US Ambassador to United Nations who served in the ex president's cabinet, after a friendly photo op in front of the Oval Office fireplace. She left that job in twenty eighteen before she could you get the idea. Now we're just going to paint the

fuller picture. But he's upset. He's upset. Even though he said that everyone knew it was coming sooner or later, he still held out hope that she was going to come out and endorse Biden or maybe not say much at all, because they're really hoping. If you remember, if you remember in fact here in this state, I think Trump. I don't remember the final We just had our primary here three two or three weeks ago, and I think that Trump won. I think Nicki Haley got does she get twenty five

percent? Was that what she was? I think she was around twenty five percent, maybe it was twenty. So it's a significant amount of people that are going to cast their ballots. And nationally she was still getting about twenty

about twenty percent at least as I understand it. And so you know what's going to happen with those voters, right, And so the obvious thing is is that Nicky Haley comes out and says, hey, I'm voting for Trump, then that's at least going to speak to some if not the vast majority. You know, metaphorically all it's never all of anything, but all of those supporters, they're going to go somewhere. They're either going to vote for

Biden. They're going to vote for or if or they're gonna vote for some other third party candidate, they're not gonna vote or they're gonna vote for Trump. And so, you know, Trump's really good at this part of the process. The second someone stops opposing him, they stop running against him and challenging him, Trump suddenly, I mean, Trump can put all this stuff behind him in ways that most politicians can't. By the way, so this as at least to the point where Nikki, again Nicki Haley, is she's

able to come out and endorse Trump. That should have happened a lot sooner, but hey, I'll take it when I can get it. I also think that for the for the most part, it's not super consequential. It's just interesting. It's interesting to watch, and it's also interesting to realize that there are people that really wait for this kind of stuff. There are there's a certain percentage of people that are taking their cues from her. They're taking

their cues from her. So she's come out to endorse Trump. The media doesn't like it, but hey, that's where that's where we are. That's where we are, you know, the other day on this program, and I'm gonna have to talk about this next segment. I well, you heard me talking about See Representative Crockett and Marjorie Taylor Green. They got into it in a House committee hearing room, going back and forth like a couple of

junior high girls. Junior high girls. Marjorie Taylor Green said that Representative Crockett could not read through her fake eyelashes. AOC jumped into the mix, and I forget what she was saying. What was she saying? Eyes? Do you remember something? Girl? Baby girl, baby girl? She called Marjorie Taylor Green baby girl. Then Representative Crockett jumped back into the mix and she said that Marjorie Taylor well, she didn't say it, but she's certainly I

mean, this is what she meant. She was trying to be she was trying to say this without naming Marjorie Taylor Green, but she effectively called Marjorie Taylor Green a bleach blonde, butch built body something. They were all b words oz and I can't remember, but you get the idea. It's like a junior high girls disagreement over a boy or something. So anyway, the good bad guy had put some clips of that out on social media, and

I just want to share a couple of things. I'm gonna play. I'm gonna play the club and just I I'm amazed at how people have lost their ability to i mean, cognitively think, to function, to have coherent thought. It is remarkable. It's kind of a scary thing that's going on out there. Anyway, I'm gonna play that and talk about that on the other side of the break, but I have to take a time out. My

friends, sit tight. You're listening to conservative not better talk. I am your host, the one the only tad huff back in just a minute. Welcome back, my friends. If you are currently using tobacco based products, smoking, vaping, chewing tobacco, you're tired of the smoke or the spit, the slimy pouches, the bad breath, and if you're looking for naturally

So I mentioned here the good bad Guy put a clip of me talking about jasmine Crockett

on CNN talking with Jake Tapper. This is the whole thing. We did this in a previous hour of this program, Marjorie Taylor Green getting on Jasmine Taylor for fake eyelashes, Jasmine are AOC jumping in and calling Marjorie Taylor Green baby girl, and then Jasmine Crockett calling, well, calling Marjorie Taylor Green. I found the phrase. There was one word that I had missed, bleach, blonde, bad built, butch body. To me, that's infinitely

more offensive than I'm not saying. I don't I don't get the fake eyelashes comment, but to me, one of those comments was much more offensive than the other. So here's what I had to say about this the other day. And people, people are Their inability to think for themselves and to come to conclusions that make sense is crazy. But here's what I had to say about this to Representative Jasmine Krockett. Here she is on CNN explaining why that

is in fact the case. Here's the joy this. You have since called her racist, trying with some of the green, and I'll understand. I want to understand your perspective of this. Do you think her going after your eyelashes. Can't believe that that in itself is racist. I think her specifically doing it to me, Yes, that was the intent, as it's been stated. You know, women wear makeup, we wear lashes, we wear

all types of things to beautify ourselves. But MAGA has historically been on social media doing the things where they're saying, oh, she's black with lashes and nails and hair. Okay, by the way, if that happened, that's I mean, I'm not that's not at all what I'm talking about. That's not at all what I'm talking about. But how are these things did Marjorie

Taylor Green? Was she out there doing it? Here? It continues, and so she's ghetto and so to me, this was her, to me, buying into that rhetoric and trying to amplify this for the MAGA crowd. And so yeah, I absolutely think that she only did it to be racist towards me, because it was towards you, or because it was eyelashes. So in that sense, it's kind of like, in your view, buying

into a racist trope. It is buying into a racist trope. But the reality is that women all colors wear lashes, right, No, Yeah, women of all color were lashes. She just said that. But so it's ray. I mean, folks, I just can't. I can't anymore. How does Jake Tapper take himself seriously, I don't know how he does Todd, I don't know how he does that. How does what in the world is going on here? She just says all women wear lashes. So if

it's anything, it's sexist. But I mean, but Marjorie Taylor Green is a woman, So is she being sexist against herself? This stuff is so asinine to masine that's right, So she's she's out here trying to say, yes, it's both, you get the idea. So it's that comment there. So I people. I've had people who think that that's you know, not being able to see it from their perspective, you know, not being able to see it from their perspective. Folks, people saying that I don't

get it. You only tell you who doesn't get it, the people who make everything in this world about race. I'm not even I think what Marjorie Taylor Green, for the record, said was stupid. I think for the record, she shouldn't be saying stuff like that. I don't get the it's not helpful, conducive any of that. I know that it's got to be frustrating working with these leftists, but this is just I'm not defending it. But to say that it's racist and this is I mean, these are big

claims, big claims, and these claims are made about everything. So in order to make the assessment that this was racist and os we're talking as and I were talking about this behind the or during the break behind the scenes here, I mean, I guess the only conclusion is if it's racist to comment on someone's fake eyelashes, then if you're a white person or a person who's not a person of color and you wear fake eyelashes, I guess you're culturally

appropriating. To follow the broken and absolutely crazy thinking of the left, that would be the only conclusion we can draw, because if eyelashes are absolutely a reference to someone being black, than someone wearing who's white that are wearing fake eyelashes would buy their own definition be culturally appropriating another racial group's identity. I mean, this is dumb stuff. But to say that I don't get it, to say I think the people saying I don't get it are absolutely the

problem. Everything is not about race. I mean, my goodness, it is for the real racist out there. I mean it's an awful thing for racism, but for average Americans to be called racist, that everything like this is ridiculous. Gotta go, STG.
