During his campaign, President Trump made securing the southern border and enforcing immigration laws a central focus of his platform, pledging to crack down on illegal immigration and prioritize the removal of individuals with criminal records. Since taking office, his administration has followed through on those promises with a series of strict enforcement measures. Under the leadership of ICE Director Tom Homan, immigration authorities have intensified efforts to identify, detain, and deport undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes in the United States. To date, ICE has deported over 65,000 individuals with criminal histories, reflecting the administration’s stated priority of protecting public safety and restoring order to the immigration system.
