Episode description

Episode 24 📻

This week to the podcast we welcomed Zac & Josh from Data Driven Strength. The 2 guys are strength coaches but also are very involved in the academic side of things & are currently working out of Florida Atlantic University’s Muscle Physiology Lab.

In today’s discussion we discussed all things progression & the various ways we can adjust our training to achieve it.

We covered both the art + science of strength training in this episode & the guys have a great way of communicating some of the concepts which often get lost in translation.

If you want to learn more about how to programme effectively, use autoregulation, prescribe RPE/RIR as it is supposed to be used, this is the episode for you!

Topics covered:
What is overload

How progress occurs

What affects performance on a daily basis

Autoregulation vs fixed approach

Progression & progression schemes

Load, intensity & effort

Using top sets to auto regulate training

Limiting intra set fatigue for max strength
Periodisation for strength
