Episode description

Episode 15 đź“»

Today we welcomed to the podcast Pak Androulakis-Korakakis who is a coach at Stronger by Science & strength training researcher.

Over the last 3 years PAK has been running a series of training studies on what the minimum amount of training we can do to get stronger, specifically to increase 1RM strength in powerlifters.

In a field where people are very focused on what more we need to do to improve - more sets, more reps, more accessories & also see that as the only way we can improve, we may get to a point of diminishing returns.

PAK’s research helps to recalibrate this with his work showing that even as we get stronger & more experienced that periods of lower training volumes can lead to strength gains.

This was a great discussion & one for the coaches as well as the lifters which will surely challenge some of your biases around the “just work harder” mentality.
