When we last left Percy and Connie, they were quickly moving on from Bernard Bruner's property, secure in the fact Mr. Bruner, and Darla the Blue Shard Cabal girl, were involved in some "dark activity." Their protective cogman, Nigel Osbert Wintermann, stood between them as Percy and Connie took their leave. That's when the Glass Witch took Connie's hand.
