Episode description

We all know space debris leads to more danger of collisions in space, but have you thought about what happens when debris falls through the atmosphere? With increasing numbers of new entrants and large constellations, there may be a need to protect against falling debris, especially for aircraft. Join Aerospace expert Dr. William Ailor as he talks to Dr. Michael Kezirian (University of Southern California) and Sven Kaltenhaeuser (German Aerospace Center, DLR) about protecting Earth’s airspace.

The Space Policy Show is produced by The Aerospace Corporation’s Center for Space Policy and Strategy. It is a virtual series covering a broad set of topics that span across the space enterprise. CSPS brings together experts from within Aerospace, the government, academia, business, nonprofits, and the national labs. The show and their podcasts are an opportunity to learn about and to stay engaged with the larger space policy community.
