Today, I want to talk to you about an experience that I had a while back, but I've forgotten about the reason why I bring this up is because I keep talking about the fact that I've not really experienced a lot of things. I've not really felt anything or seen anything or anything like that. And then the more I think about it, well, I've had more experiences than I thought I had. I mean, I really truly have. And
I wonder if that's the same thing for you. If we go around life thinking, yeah, I don't I've not seen anything that's weird, or I've not experienced anything. Something about our minds shuts off the impossible, forgets the improbable, the things that we can't really explain. Our mind just dismisses offhand. And sometimes it isn't until much later on, when we're maybe having a conversation with someone when it suddenly hits like, oh my god, that's right,
I just remember it. Something weird did happen to me. And the more I think back to the time in my twenties when I was first looking into all this kind of stuff, the more that I'm finding that I had these experiences. The one that really comes to mind right now is the time that I can only imagine I saw or us, but I didn't see colors or anything like that. And I know that longtime listeners will have heard the episode where I started seeing Karen's aura as we were recording things, But hasn't
he really happened since then? Like I haven't really seen them. I guess I have to try, but I guess I back up for a second. It wasn't until very recently that this is gonna sound weird and Karen's gonna last at me when she hears this. But there was a time when I actually studied with a guru, back when I was living in Miami. Now. He wasn't like a regular guru. He wasn't like some guy who sat in lotus pos all day long and in India and showed me the way. He
was just a regular guy who was on the same path. But he was well advanced. He was much more advanced than I was. His improbable name was actually Larry. It was his name was. I studied with Larry the Guru, and he was a Jewish man that was a practicing mystic. I mean to clarify, his family was Jewish. He was no longer practicing that religion in favor of a spiritual and mystical practice. But he was Jewish,
his family was Jewish. But now he was an avid meditator. He was a reiki practitioner, He saw auras, he practiced ritual magic things like that. Like he was. Really he's a far out dude man. He has really long hair and a beard, and always barefoot, which makes sense to me, now right, the whole barefoot thing. You're connected to the planet. So that's why he was always a barefoot now I get it. Well,
I would go over to his house. I think it was once a week that would go and we would meditate together and he would teach me something else. When we'd talk about stuff I was experiencing or that he was experiencing, he was teaching me. He was teaching me like breath work, all kinds of different things in the in a metaphysical space. And I would study
with him he once in a while. Well, at one point we were sitting across from each other and the lights were somewhat dim, but we had incidents going and a few candles around, and we were talking about auras, and all of a sudden I was looking around him and I'm seeing a like outline around him, I guess, like an energetic aura around him. But it wasn't a color. It was like just like gray, gray, white, black, whatever color or lack of color it was, but there was
just like an outline around him. I said, hey, Larry, I think I think I see your aura. He goes, oh, really, what it looks like? And I tried to explain it to him. He goes, okay, well, keep your eye on the aura and tell me
what you see now. And as he said that, as I was watching his aura, it shot up really high, and my reaction, like unbridled reaction, was to go whoa at that point, and then he laughed and he goes, Yep, you can see it all right, because apparently he had shot it up, like he had expanded his aura above his crown chakra really up in the air to see if I would notice it. And sure enough I noticed. I noticed it shot up in the air, so it's
weird. So I suddenly I was overjoyed I could see aras. But then he asked me what color is and I couldn't see it, and that kind of threw me right back down to the ground because I couldn't see I couldn't see the color. I could just see the outline around him, and I
could see it when he manipulated it, and that was pretty amazing. From that moment on, I would always look around and I could I could see this outline around some people, although usually when they were up against like a flat wall with not a lot of patterns and things, because I guess the patterns made me lose the sight of the aura or something. I don't know, and I think that's what I saw back when we were recording that episode where I saw Karen's aura, it was the same general thing. It was
an outline. Now I'm wondering if maybe I've seen or as all along. I just didn't know what they were or recognize them. And that's the hardest thing about all this for me, because there is a level of trusting that you're not just making this stuff up. And everyone tells you that, but it doesn't hit you until you start experiencing it yourself. It takes a level of trust that you're not making this up, and that is the hardest thing
for pragmatists like me. I don't know. I'm curious because now that I realized that I go back to the things that have happened to me that I just thought it was just my mind making things up, and wonder what if they weren't. What if it was nascent gifts that were trying to emerge and I shot them down because I just pooh pooed them to the realm of my
imagination. I would love to hear your thoughts.
