YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves… is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. — 1 John 4:7-8

The Bible says God is love. Not just that God can be all-loving. He is love.

And… because he is love, God created us to have a relationship with him.

Because he is love. Our Father in heaven offers us his mercifulness.

Hello everyone. Sidney St. James, on a few days before Christmas giving thoughts and prayers for a safe holiday season for everyone. We also offer our thanks to him for sending his only forgotten son down to earth to be born under a bright star on Christmas morning shining down from the heavens.

I was eighteen when my Mother died at age 50 of a heart attack. Devastated, angry, and confused, I wanted to know why God took my mom.

Without a strong relationship with Christ, I had been consumed by a storm of grief and despair. I longed for hope and comfort. Then shortly after her death, I happened upon the movie, Carousel, and heard the song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” written by Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers.

The following is a portion of the song, that touched my soul.

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high and don’t be afraid of the dark. At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky, and the sweet silver song of a lark. Walk on through the wind; walk on through the rain, though your dreams be tossed and blown…walk on; walk on, with hope in your heart, and you’ll never walk alone; you’ll never walk alone.
