Session 5: Arrogance and Anger

We are all familiar with the characteristics of the arrogant man. He’s argumentative, obnoxious, judgemental and small minded. In this class, Rabbi Shafier explains another hallmark of someone who is haughty- their deep unhappiness and dissatisfaction with life. You see, a baal gaiveh constantly has sunburn on his ego- he is forever seeing himself as slighted, dishonored disrespected.

In contrast, a humble man is free to enjoy this world. He can appreciate simple pleasures, get along with people and maintain happy, fulfilling relationships. Ok, so you know which one you want to be. How do you get there?
