But we're live right now. Hey, we're live. Everybody got me live. Let's go bury. Everybody do their job. One of love, Clayoff Calvern defense. Let's go no overthinking, right, Go play some ball, Go play some football. It's an exciting time to be a Buffalo Bill and a fan of the Buffalo Bills. Hey, everybody, welcome to the Sean McDermott's Show, presented by ECMC and kalid to Health, the official healthcare providers of the Buffalo Bills, or please to
join Sean McDermot again. After a nice win down in Miami, you know you asked your team last week to play fearless, and man, they really took the lid off. You know, the team has struggled up until this last week, just four points. But the two guys that have been really consistent, John Brown Josh Allen teaming up. John Brown's putting together a pretty nice little season. I think the way you'd like to see it, consistent production weekend week out. Ever, your you've said a lot about what it is to
have players who are leaders on your team. Saturday night, Tremaine Edmonds stood up in front of the team and had some things to say. Wouldn't that mean to you to see a kid, but still one of the youngest players not only on your roster, but in the entire league stand up and start to become the kind of guy you envisioned in becoming when you drafted it. Yeah,
right or wrong. NFL is always about wins and losses, right, So you've got to win, no problem, But how do you, aside from the win lost column, how do you measure the improvement of your club? That's got to be a tough balance to strike. And you brought it up about developing young players. You want to win now, no question. You want to win this year and every year, but you also have to have an eye for guys coming through the pipeline. You've always been big on developing our
own players. How do you write that balance between winning now and then developing guys like Josh, like Tremaine Edmunds, Cody Ford at all over all these Tredavious White another one who's now a veteran, right, right, So how do you strike that balance between you gotta win now, but Cody Ford rotating in and out and out right tackle and guard. It seems to be working all right, Sean, Thanks for that insight. We'll be back to get more of that thinking about the Denver Broncos later in the show.
Choppin Wood is presented by Saint Bonaventure University, the official education provider of the Buffalo Bills. Well, come back to the Sean McDermott Show, and we're in the film room today with our good friend Eric Wood. We're gonna chop some wood and dissect the Dolphins game. Eric, what do you think of the Bills win in Miami? You know, I thought it was a convincing win All season long. The Bills fans have been clamoring for this convincing, dominating win,
and they lit it up on the scoreboard. They hold them to hardly any rushing yards on the day, none in meaningful time. Really completely stifled them, and I loved what I saw. The message heading into the week was play fearless, and I thought both sides of the ball play fearless. Yeah. And after a close loss in Cleveland, it was a really discouraging week for a lot of Bills fans, but the team came out and showed up big.
Josh Allen moved the ball with ease and ended up with one of those long pass plays that we haven't seen much of this year to John Brown. Yeah, after a six and three start, it was surprising how much heat Brian day Ball and Josh Allen we're getting, but
the deep balls haven't come, the big chunk plays. And then offensively, they were twenty fifth in the league, and I think heading into the game, part of the reason of that is that they've played in games this year where they simply were just holding into a lead or you know, just simply not turning the ball over and playing a little more conservative against warres teams. But they
came out and put it on the Dolphins. Well, let's talk about this first touchdown pass along passed John Brown right down the right side, Josh Allen looking left, looking left, came back late and put a laser beam right on his wide receiver. Yeah. When I watched this play a lot from the booth, and now not a great bandish point from the Miami booth, But when I watched the play from the booth, I loved that I knew was a cover two whole shot immediately, and I loved everything
about it. An absolute laser throw, And that just shows the chemistry the trust that Josh Allen has in John Brown that he'll be right where he needs to be. You can see before the play, Josh Allen starts under center, he checks the play, he sees the defense that the Dolphins are in, checks the play. And after the game, I listened to John Brown's interview with reporters and he talked about, Hey, Josh came up to me on the sideline and said, if we get this look again, I'm
coming to you down the sideline. And John Brown said, you know, there's not many quarterbacks in the lead that he can even make that throw. I also want to talk about Josh's leg once again. He carved up the Dolphins with his legs. He did a last year in Week seventeen, but it's still a big part of his game. And he broke one off on a quarterback read option
that really came loose. Yeah. Through my radio broadcast, I'm often critical about Josh Allen taking hits outside of the pocket and him running maybe too much on some design runs. But this play, this is a read option play, so he could either hand the ball off the single terrier when that defensive end bytes take off himself. And oftentimes teams are running RPOs while those receivers will be running routes out there, the defensive backs can peel off. Well.
Here the Bills truly run read option. Tyler Croft and Isaiah McKenzie. I lead blocking for him and it allows it for a thirty six yard game. And then if you notice here, you know I often refer to a seven man box. So if you look, there's seven defenders lined up basically on Dion Dawkins on the left, with shar Jones on the line all the way over to the guy that's gonna be a man defense on Tyler Croft. The Bill only have six blockers and that's a seven
man box. That's really tough. You neutralize it with the quarterback runs a great play design, great play call, and great execution by Josh Allen, and you could tell at the end of that run he wanted to get in the end zone. Let's switch ahead and let's fast forward over to the Denver Broncos. They're coming to town this weekend. You got to imagine that Josh Allen's going to be aware of where von Miller is lining up. He's one of only three active players with over one hundred sacks.
What do you know about Von Miller. He's just such an impressive player. He's so active, he's great with his hands, he's super athletic, and then he's got a sneaky amount of power, which I know from experience. Actually gave up a sack to him at one time in my career on a stunt, so he can really expose anybody. But here you see him working on the left tackle and
it's just a tough matchup. Riley Reef is a good tackle in this league, the left tackle for the Vikings, and he just beats him around the edge, uses his hands, use this speed and he'll get home. But he's covered so much ground coming off the football. Yeah, Von Miller has sacked fifty different quarterbacks in his career. You can see from this sack against the Jaguars that it's coming together for this Denver Broncos defense. Yeah, it is, and
they're playing great football. I believe going into the game last weekday at a top five defense statistically in the league. So it'll be a matchup of two top five defenses. Would be a great matchup in Orchard Park. You know, if Ti and Secki's out for this game, Cody Ford needs to be careful with the speed rushes that von Miller will bring because he'll rush the passer from both sides, and here he gets a sack with absolute ease against
Minshew in the pocket. It'll be a tough matchup for him, but it'll be an entertaining one to watch because there'll be a lot of going back and forth between him. He's Eric Wood, the radio analyst for the Bills broadcast of the home games. He'll be back in Buffalo for the Denver Broncos game this week. Eric, travel safe. We'll see you on Sunday, all right, thanks, Steve. Game preview is presented by Independent Health. From your every day to
your unexpected. That's the Red Share treatment. Mattie glad here at this week's game preview. The seven and three Bills are back at New air Field a head a week twelve, taking on the three and seven Broncos. They happen to be one and four on the road as well. Bills now seven and three Buffalo's best records through ten games since nineteen ninety nine. Next Sunday, Bills back home against
the Denver Broncos at New air Fields. The Broncos offense ranks twenty seventh in averaging seventeen point two points per game. Their threat on offense is receiver Courtland Sutton, who ranks tenth in the NFL with eight hundred and five receiving yards. He also ranks eighth with thirteen catches of twenty yards or more. Denver's defense ranks fourth in the league, allowing an average of three hundred and ten point eight yards per game. Buffalo impressed on offense last week against Miami.
Wide receiver John Brown's eight hundred and seventeen receiving yards is the second most in the AFC and the most by a Bill through ten games. Quarterback Josh Allen continues to set records in his second year, as he has at least two touchdowns in the last six games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL BELL and the longest streak by a Bill since Jim Kelly in nineteen ninety one. Alan also has fifteen rushing touchdowns, with Trails Cam Newton by just two for the most rushing
touchdowns by a quarterback in their first two seasons. The third ranked Buffalo Bills defense, who allows just seventeen points per game, put on a show against the Dolphins, sacking quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick seven times, and the last five times the Bills and Broncos have played each other, Buffalo has won three of those five matchups. Steve back to you, thanks Mattie, and now we're back with Sean mcdermoty to get some final thoughts about the Denver Broncos coming up.
You're facing a team that's a lot like the Buffalo Bills. Lean on that defense. Bills number three overall defense, Denver Broncos number four overall defense. Somebody's got to score some points in this game, right, I mean, well, you got a player on your team that's gone one hundred and sixty plus attempts passing and never thrown a pick. What's that say about how committed Josh has been, how well he's taking to the coaching, the guidance that you and
Dave Ball and Dorsey have given him. He seems to listen and try and do everything he's trying supposed to be doing. Sean, thanks allot to appreciate it. We're gonna take next week off for thanks Giving. We're to come back. We'll recap maybe the Denver Bronco game, look back at the Dallas game, but we're going to look forward to the Baltimore Ravens the next time we see it. Thanks
for watching, everybody, and have a great weekend. The Sean McDermott Show is sponsored by Independent Health from her every Day to your Unexpected that's the Red Share treatment, and by Yancey's Fancy New York's artists and Cheese, the official cheese of the Buffalo Bills.
