Saladcast 401 - Bananotic Revendition
Nothing at all is happening. Oh what's that Nintendo? Nothing? Oh OK then... In this episode, Nintendo nothing, Expedition 33, the complete Bananza, Abiotic Factor, RC Revenge Pro and some Zelda.

Nothing at all is happening. Oh what's that Nintendo? Nothing? Oh OK then... In this episode, Nintendo nothing, Expedition 33, the complete Bananza, Abiotic Factor, RC Revenge Pro and some Zelda.
That's 400 (ish) episodes in the can. When I was told that "the can" from that phrase does not refer to a toilet, the perceived quality of the podcast improved. I guess that's how the stock market works. In this episode, Zac punch rock, Dan shrine get, Rob chicken eat (that's Donkey Kong Bananza, Zelda and Popeyes).
If letters had physical heft, which would be the weightiest? I'm voting F. In this episode, the Microsoft tumults, the Expedition continues, the Shapez train runs, the Mario Kart World gets rated, the Kingdom Tears up and Tendlebone happens. P.S. Sorry this went up late. I pushed buttons, but not all of them, apparently got bored and kinda wandered off.
Welcome to Summer Update Fest, also known as SUF. In this episode, Nintendo can't keep spilling beans and updates us on Bananza, we get an update from Rob's Expedition, Mario Kart World gets a controversial update and several other games get updates too.
It's been so busy! There's a bacon-double-cheese-XL amount of news thanks to SGF and friends. So that's the podcast. Oh and the Switch 2 came out.. I guess there's that small issue to deal with too.
Well it's certainly been a collection of days. An arbitrary grouping of time segments indeed. Undoubtedly a set of rotations that happened. For sure, a sequence of lightenings interleaved with darkenings at intervals of a regular nature. Categorically a rhythmic alternation of celestial photons codified by duration. In this episode: the last of our Switch 2 news before launch, Avowed, Captain of Industry, Astro Bot and a fizzy curiosity.
With great ray-tracing comes great responsibility. Getting sued by Ray Winston isn't on my to-do list. Naturally we talk about the new Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, but there's more Avowed to play, Captain of Industry got an update, and Expedition 33 dials up the French.
In this episode, more Switch 2 news (of course), South of Midnight, New Star GP, Astro Bot and a return to Dwarf Fortress. No funny blurb this time. Just a shout out to Giant Bomb and Polygon amidst more awful corporations doing bad stuff.
Putting the "shine" back into "oi, watch it sunshine!"... it's the SaladCast. In this episode we've got more Switch 2 chat including that Mario Kart World Direct, Marathon's reveal, Astro Bot and mildly spoilery chat about Avowed.
What else was this podcast gonna be about? Nintendo spilled some beans and didn't bother to mop the floor. Let's eat! I'm just disappointed we didn't get a rooftop Switch 2 party.
Season 16 is upon us, bringing a few changes. Hopefully you won't notice them. In this episode: Windows 11, "Project Kennan", Avowed, Forza Horizon 5 and more Balatro.
Oh, making my mind slow That's why I don't f*** with the big 4-O... Sorry I was somewhere else there for a second... my youth perhaps... In this episode: HASTE: Broken Worlds, 7th Guest VR, Spyro the Dragon, Balatro, No Man's Sky and nostalgic wittering... sigh.
In this episode we talk about the Playstation State of Play, NVIDIA's poopy 5000 series launch, Yakuza 6, Rift of the Necrodancer and the brilliantly titled Sandustry. I think more game genres should have easily identifiable naming conventions. Rythm games generally have it down. FPS could learn a few tricks though. Less "Destiny" and more "Gun Dude". You can have "Saladustry" as a possible factory game name. I like that one. You're welcome.
If you sit down to think about the future, is that future damp? I can't help but think most of the futures I imagine are damp in some way. There is one thing that won't dampen your future though: it's the SaladCast! In this episode: new PCs, Rift of the Necrodancer, Stationeers, Yakuza 6 and Forza Horizon.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Do we have a pic-a-nic basket of news for you today. Look under the pork pies and you'll find it's tasty new console announcement time. The Switch 2 cometh. In this episode we'll talk about the Switch 2, the Xbox Dev Direct, Indiana Jones, Stationeers, ProtoCorgi and Balatro. Rob also says "err" a lot. Try not to notice it.
Look! SaladCast is evolving! It has become a 386! We can now run Windows 3.1! In this episode: Switch 2 speculation, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Stationeers, Balatro and some other titbits. Hehe... titbits.
The year is at an end so we'll close it out in style... our usual style... without Dan because he's ill. With a style. In this episode: Starfox 64 recomplilation, Palworld, Balatro, Starlink Factorio and Space Jam.
Your whole life is just a trailer for someone else's movie, or at least a part of The Game Awards. That thing is so long we'll all be in it soon. In this episode we've got our hot picks from this year's game awards and some games we've been playing like: Balatro, Factorio, Vintage Storyo, Starlinko, Elemental Gearbolto and Sonic the Hedgeho.
Due to a technical fault this episode of the SaladCast is a whole week late! Sorry about that. Yes it does still count as a technical fault as it was technically all my fault in forgetting to post it. In this episode: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Jusant, Factorio, Starlink and Cook, Serve, Delicious. Mmmm.
Proposal for a new season in between Autumn and Winter 1. Proposed name: Pooptember. Reason for proposal: It's when the year starts getting a bit butt like innit. In this episode: Mario and Luigi Brothership, CoD BlOps 6, Factorio, Cook Serve Delicious, Starlink and bodily fluids. Proposal denied.
The general health level of the SaladCast crew is increasing but progress is gradual. We prescribe more SaladCast and video games. In this episode there's not much news so we'll talk about TV, Call of Duty, the Factorio explansion, Flintlock and Splatoon 3 Side Order.
Time to get cosy in the front of the TV, get settled in and startle all around you with sudden bursts of profanity. Such is videogames. In this episode, Satisfactory, Flintlock, 140, Timberborn, Star Trucker, Space Engineers and Castlevania nestle in beside the news.
This episode is sponsored by Couch Potatoes™. The comfortable potato. In this podcast we talk about the Sony State of Play, Teardown, Star Trucker, Satisfactory, Splatoon 3: Side Order and current ailments.
Somehow we didn't talk about Splatton 3's Grand Festival. Rob is sorry for the omission and will submit to punitive gunging just like you would see on a 90's TV show. What happened to gunge? #BringBackGunge What we did talk about is the PS5 Pro, a wild new Like A Dragon game announcement, Satisfactory going 1.0, Kunitsu-Gami, Time Crisis: Project Titan and a bunch of other stuff... but no Splatoon.
Long-term listeners of The SaladCast will remember that we once promised a series of underground belts to deliver pork pies. I'm pleased to inform you that we'll be upgrading our plans to include pie flinging technology. Pies just fly faster. In this episode: The demise of Concord, the final bosses of Terraria, the Path of the Goddess, the Tears of the Kingdom and the planets of the treasure.
I hear the faint sound of the Taco Bell ringing. It must be the Next Summer Gamescom E3 Fest Done Quick for August approaching. In this episode, some highlights from Gamescom, Thomas was Alone, Shapez 2, Immortals of Aveum, Terraria, OutRun 2006 and drowning at sea.
How about instead of playing video games, you listen to three idiots talk about them instead. Perhaps we'll just interrupt your enjoyment of a video game to give you some phenomenal opinions on quality. Our audio will be there right in the middle of that important clutch play. Isn't that exactly how you want to consume your media? In this episode, Olympics, Steam Deck, No Straight Roads, No Man's Sky, Immortals of Aveum, OutRun 2006, Terraria and... bull riding?
It's sport o'clock. More sport than you can possible think of. You like sport, right? That's why you come to this well informed podcast... with many, many balls. In this episode we embrace the Frenchness of the Olympic opening ceremony, mod Outrun 2006 and play other, non-olympic games.
It didn't come home, but we didn't know that at the time we recorded this. OK, we knew a little, but didn't everyone? In this episode, soft drink rivalries, Game Pass getting worse, Abiotic Factor, Rally Cross, Urbek, MTG: Arena, Immortals of Aveum and the mystery bag.
Why choose between sport and music when you can have both! We'll call it "Spusic" or "Musort". You score more points if stuff happens on beat, like scoring goals, landing punches, putting things in holes! In this episode, Zac gets involved with Steam Next Fest. Hear his impressions of Rift of the Necrodancer, Creeper World IXE and Core Keeper. There's also a Nintendo Direct to dissect.
