Episode description

Katherine is a heart driven woman, navigating the world with strong faith. Her relationship with the heavenly Father has been a pillar of strength and a huge influence in her life, as her relationship with her biological father is non-existent.

Sharing a love of the Netflix series This Is Us, Katherine and I have found so many aspects of the plot line that resonate with us, and there’s one in particular that reached Katherine’s core. Part of the plot line in season one surrounds Randall searching for and finding his biological father, which is something that Katherine has thought about for her entire life. It was seeing it happen in the show that brought out the multitude of outcomes that could come out of this, and we talk about this today.

In this impactful conversation, Katherine explains how part of her identity has felt like it’s been missing, not knowing much about the Vietnamese part of her being. She has spent many years longing for more information and more connection to her Vietnamese heritage and family, while never feeling like she totally belonged in any one space.
