that the last time you can play out? Yes? Yeah, my sister got trapped here, So listen, we're gonna be here. I don't want kind of show we're gonna do today, but that's kind of every day on this show. So I had plans to kind of run home room as a

normal homeroom, but that's up to Keith. If Keith is around, and we played fresh out of bed head to head, I'm cool with that, you know, fun facts and all that, But I mean, does anybody really want any of that stuff or you just want to talk about the storm and we can make it like an open phones forum all morning long and we can just talk weather and take your calls and tell me about what's going on where you're at. But Hurricane Beryl I was up this morning, made landfall

as a Category one hurricane. Maximum sustained winds of around eighty miles per hour. Reports of wind gusts close to one hundred right now in downtown Houston. They're saying gusts up to sixty miles an hour. Now, these storms, I guess the big thing is, dude, when is the rain going to be over? Storm's likely for the next several hours, possibly noon before it lightens up, and then we're on the here's me trying to do weather. Now. We have a tornado watch. We have a tornado watch through ten

am this morning. Centerport Energy, we're over three hundred thousand customers are in the dark already. Okay, nearly the entire area is under a tropical storm warning. Flash flood warning is in effect until eight for Harris, Galveston, Fort Bend, Chambers, Berzoria counties. Don't get on the roads if you don't have to. You guys, we all drove in this morning, Yeah,

we all, but we all had different experiences driving in. So there's dangerous winds, storm surge six to seven feet on the coast, but you know what, flash flooding not only along the coastline, it's extending into Harris County. The eye of the storm is kind of headed towards Katie, So Houston where we are, we're on the right side or to the east of it. So there's gonna be some significant winds rolling through here in the next couple of hours. We're gonna be live through the worst of it. That's

the weird part about this. It's all happening now, like while we're here, So that's gonna be basically the whole show and doing updates. But I do want to hear from you guys. There's some other news going on. Happy Birthday to Toby Keith. Toby Keith would have been sixty three today, so his hometown in Oklahoma paid tribute to him on his I mean, I guess that was his favorite holiday. I didn't know Toby personally, I only met him once, but you got to think he was a big fan of

the Fourth of July. Oh yeah, right, So they had a twenty five minute fireworks show set to his music. I got to link up today and the mayor said, listen, he invited all of us to celebrate America's independence and to remember the men and women who are serving and have served and kept America free. We miss you, Toby. So you can see like the fans clip of the fireworks. This is like one fireworks you know clip

that I wanted to see today and that's on links and guests. And then there is a music blog page today and you know, we had heard that Soundgarden was recording an album at the time of Chris Cornell's death, and then the fighting started between Vicky who was representing Chris, Vicky and the kids, and they were fighting the machine known as Soundgarden, which is the remaining members. And there were talks of a payout to her, which was like really

a low amount of money, like three hundred thousand dollars. The guys in Soundgarden say, no, that's not what was offered. But somehow they have come to an agreement and Soundgarden will release final songs with Chris Cornell after reaching this settlement with the Cornell family. When will we get this Sound Guarden music. I'm not exactly sure yet, but you know what that's great news because Soundgarden was rolling at the time of Chris death, and Chris was at his

peak. Vocals were amazing, and they said they were writing some amazing music. So hopefully we're gonna get well, we are going to get it. We just don't know when. But the fact that that lawsuit's over, that's gonna that would have held that up forever. All right, kind of stuff like that. What is sports? Yeah, astros fella. The Twins yesterday three D two, Josh Hater game up, walk off homer to Christia Vasquez

in the bottom of the ninth. They dropped two or three against Minnesota over the weekend and they'll have a day off today before they open up a three game series with the Marlins tomorrow at Dynamo. We're supposed to play LAFC last night, but that was postponed because of inclement weather. They have no date for when that will be rescheduled though, But that is what's going on in sports, all right. First phone call, Hey, Chili, you good.

Screw Ma Gucci over here and you are your Gucci today. Okay? That good? Okay, Well, I'm gonna ask for the first phone call and then probably later on. me to the airport. So boom, they take her luggage and then she calls me about an hour later. Yeah, my luggage, it's going to be four hours until I can see it. Just come get me and then hope for the best. They're going to try to get me on some sort of a flight tomorrow. So yeah, I mean, that's not even crapping on Southwest. It's just you know, weather. But it was nice though. That's the problem. Three four o'clock. You would think that they'd want

to get everybody out of there like the best they could. So I know flights are going to be mangled today Hurricane Beryl. That's a rude son of a bitch that I of the storm's going right over Katie and where on that is. And we're on the right side of that, as a matter of fact, on dirty side, which I heard them talking dirty side. Yeah. Yeah, So that's gonna be significant winds with a bunch of rain, and we're probably not going to get much of a break here, at least

in Houston until about noon. So some of these winds that are already recorded in downtown Houston up to sixty miles per hour. So Hurricane Beryl landfall this morning at around four came in as a Cat one and then I guess the other thing is and I've got the website pulled up the first time I've ever

So when I pulled it up this morning at four four thirty, there was three hundred thousand people out, over five hundred and thirty three thousand customers affected right now without power, Okay, So that stinks. you saw Matagora Matagorda County. Yeah, brending Mata Gorda. So that's where I think as a Cat one hurricane barrel made landfall, all right, and that rude sob is heading right towards us the eye of the storm. Maximum sustained winds right now about eighty miles an hour we're getting some wins here in Harris County, even in downtown Houston, they said sixty miles an hour. So Center Point Energy is trending and everyone wants to know. Okay, what's

going on with the power. My kid just called, we're good at my house, but five hundred and thirty three thousand of you are not good this morning, so that stinks. I would love to get somebody from Centerpoint on this morning, maybe even somebody that normally gets out there and restores power. Can you go out there now or is it just too nasty? on the rain. Maybe twelve o'clock here in Houston. That's not going to be the same number for you up in the woodlands, but that's the direction of the storm that's heading. It's heading north. Then we're going to get what they say, some of these wrap around showers. So even if it does lighten up around noon, you got these pesky bands are gonna be whipping around. So we're still gonna be getting rain three, four, five, six o'clock tonight. Then tomorrow we got just not even barrel rain. We

just got some rain, just like regular summertime rain is coming tomorrow. So that's kind of I mean, weather is the huge story. I do want to open up the phone lines. You either just bought it or you don't care. So the record is unless it somehow rebounds it gets back into the chart, it'll be the first bon Jovi studio album to only be on the chart the top two hundred for one week. I mean that's a

Listen, windy flash flooding along the coastline now extending into Harris County. What else do you need to know? All right, these storms are gonna be likely for the next several hours. I feel like most of my memories are these things, like on the overnight and you're kind of dealing with it, and then we're trying to make our way in here. It was bad on the way in this morning, but but we are here. We don't recommend anyone else get out on the

roads. Hurricane Beryl made landfall this morning. Is a Category one hurricane. Oh I'm sorry, let me back up. Hi, I'm Rod. And Tessa got trapped traveling this weekend and couldn't fly back, so she's not here, so you're stuck with me and Chili and Alex. I drew the short straw. I gotta do the news. I gotta do Houston's headlines. You should probably cover hurricanes, I would guess, all right. So Hurricane Beryl

landfall this morning. Category one maximum sustained winds of around eighty miles an hour. There are some gusts that are close to one hundred. They're saying right now, the winds about seventy five miles an hour. And then on top of that a ton of rain. And that's what's happening right now in Harris County. Okay. So the eye of the storm, like I said, is headed to Katie. We are on the right side, the dirty side, the east side. So significant winds in Houston right now, Okay,

heavy rainfall. Houston's starting to get a ton of rain right now. That means up north, you guys up there in Conro that are telling me I'm not so bad yet, Woodland's you're getting it, okay, because that's the direction that it's headed. Okay, So we're getting a ton of rain here. Rainfall totals three to ten inches, four to five inches already reported here in Houston. In the loop. Tornado warning. My just went off the

last time I was on with a live microphone. So our phones we got to keep the volume on because we got to be notified of these things. So tornado warning for Chambers in Galveston County right now until eight o'clock, so that's only a couple of minutes away. What else, it's dangerous flash flooding along the coastline extending into Harris County. Flash flood warning till nine. That also triggered my phone. So do not travel, Do not travel. I got a guy right here. He said, Dude, I gotta be on

I gotta be on the road. He is. He's like, good morning, here's me talking to you. I'm driving down I ten in a catwe hurricane. I have to get out of this weather. I'm headed to Florida for vacation, crazy windy. I had to go. The trip is paid for. Okay, I get it. Do we need to talk about flights? There's nobody flying? Yeah, as I say, I don't think there

are any No, there are no flights. And then I guess the other big thing is the out tracker for Centerpoint Energy one three hundred and forty three thousand, nine hundred and thirty eight customers affected active outages, three four hundred and ten, three hundred and two customers restored in the last twenty four hours, so they're working. After Chris Cornell passed away, they started fighting, and that's the worst thing to do. It happens in families, do it. What happened in my family? It was like, the last time I talked to my brother, he blessed me. When's the last time

we talk to your brother? At my dad's funeral, that was it. I haven't talked to him since he's a dick. So so that's the worst time to fight. After the death of somebody. Chris passes. They were working on music. Apparently it was just about done. Soundgarden said, listen, this is Soundgarden music. It's not necessarily Chris Cornell music. And she's like, well, listen, he's one fourth of the band. What's going on here? I just want to be fair. The long story short is

they have put their differences aside. Which what is the difference? Money? It's always it's always going to be about money. Why don't I talk to my brother money? That's the reason, that's why you fight. So apparently they have come to an agreement and she is no longer accusing them of withholding royalties. So now they are all on the same page. After three different lawsuits, clarity will come out and it looks like new music from Soundgarden.

I don't know if we're going to get these final songs with Chris Cornell by the end of the year, but there's been a settlement and that means new music from Soundgarden is coming because it's already in the can So that's great news. So it sounds like it's like not mixed and mastered and ready to go like they had it was it was done but not done done. You know. I don't know at what point that they walked away

from it, but you gotta go back. This stuff is from twenty fifteen. Chris died in twenty sixteen, so I don't know how far along they were in the process. And it doesn't say that there's a full album's worth of materiality. It still touring. They could have been like right, just like halfway done. Yeah, it just says that music. Oh, he died in twenty seventeen. This stuff was recorded in twenty fifteen and it was intended for a Soundgarden album. Did they get enough material down for an album?

Not even nice. It's not even nice. I do see sixty nine right here by us. So, yeah, there's a hurricane. When you look at the weather map, there's a hurricane sitting right on top of Houston right now. We're in Houston right now. That is eerie. And we've been through some stuff together. We have. There's still gonna be these kind of crazy wrap around these big, huge bands that are kind of wrapping all the way around, so they're gonna have to be some wrap around showers. Some of you have no choice. All you got is a little radio, battery operated radio, and you chose to listen to us this morning because power is out. It is such an eerie visual, freaking me out

a little bit. As we're talking right now, there's a Category one hurricane sitting right on top of us here in Houston Harris County, which is just really really heavy rainstorms and wind and all of that stuff is now we're coming up on five hours. Hurricane Barrel made landfall this morning right before four o'clock, so five hours. It's still staying close to seventy miles. Many of

us are getting seventy five mile an hour winds. The eye seems to be breaking up a little bit, which I believe means that it's getting a little less organized, which is a good thing. Nearly the entire area still under tropical storm warning. There was a flash flood warning till nine. I don't know if they're going to extend that, but our phones have been going off all morning long, uncontrollably. And the big story right now and unfortunate.

The worst is one confirmed death male in his fifties in Humble. We just watched an interview with Lena Hildalgo and she kind of broke that they didn't want to say too much about it. And it's fine. I can't even imagine, but people are telling us that it was like a fallen tree related. Yeah. So man, the things are going to happen outside, and I know you want to kind of be out there and everybody kind of wants to saves and move things around and whatever. And I'm worried about it too.

We got a picture this morning. We didn't have Captain Cash on with us this morning. We do a little segment called rock Out with your stock Out early in the morning, and ten minutes before How's supposed to be on with us, I get a picture from his wife. It's like, oh, yeah, look at this tree. It just fell over our brand new cars. So the wind damage, the tree damage, We've all been through this already, just a little over a month ago. Storms are likely for the

next several hours for us here in Houston. It might possibly be noon before we see it lightening up, but it's not going to be over with there are going to be these big wrap around showers, these from the bands wrapping around, and that could be three four o'clock. So dangerous winds are still a huge part of this. Flooding is a huge part of this. The eye of the storm just kind of sitting there. It's moving, but it's heading up north. But yeah, one confirmed death and you hear that and

you just think the absolute worst. Yeah, a lot of people that can't phone in this morning but are emailing Stacy. Good morning. I'm sending out prayers to everyone. We're here in San Antonio. Him and Margot Robbie are having a baby. Then there is a music blog page up today. One

person clicked on it this morning. On that blog page, the new bon Jovi album Forever, it's looking like it's going to set a record, not a good record. The album debuted at number five last week. I think we mentioned bon Jovi had a new album out. This week, it dropped all the way out of the Billboard two hundred. So unless it somehow if it rebounds and gets back on the chart, this will be the first bon Jovi studio album to own only last one week in the top two hundred.

It's I feel like it's not going well for Bonjovi right now. It does the vocal troubles the last group the last time he came through the amount of emails and calls it came through talking about his voice, and I think they handle this and they talk about it in the documentary that's out there, and Sue Ryan doesn't approve. Sue Ryan liked him less after watching the documentary. She said she's never come away from a doc where she doesn't like. Maybe

you appreciate what the person's been through or what they've done. I said, he does some good things, doesn't he have, like some kitchens in New Jersey that he feeds homeless people? She said, yeah, but he's still a jerk. She came away watching a documentary and I'm sure that's not what he wanted. She said. Houston Airport's nine hundred to one thousand flights not happening today. Somebody said something they had a court case. Your court's not happening today, dude, Oh yeah, you're good. today. Nothing is happening today with God, Yeah, I mean there is nothing. The worst has happened. One confirmed death, a mail in his fifties up in Humble, and we were told that it was maybe a tree related. Man stay indoors. Treva is checking in Treva again. kind of staying up with the power. And if she has to pump, she could do that, or she would just feed regularly right out of the TD, right out of TD. That's like normally like when people are worried about not having power. This is the first time I've been like, wow, like I don't care about me. Now I'm like, oh, there's like a baby human that I have

And they said that this we're in that weird hour too, which these are some really really heavy rain bands and heavy wind is happening, which they say like like it's already add and then a tornado could it could it could turn tornadic, were some of these, and it could just happen. and anything going on fire wise? What's our concern with some of these transformers. I've seen them like on TV Live, like blowing up. Yeah, fire is so not so much a concern, especially with all the rain soak we've had. The transformers are blowing, but they're not catching anything on the fire and they a lot of times just burn until the power is shut off. But there's no real threat there.
