Today's episode is.
So special and so exciting. I'm going to give you a look behind the scenes of one of the biggest moves Cooper and I have made in business, and the announcement did go up on socials yesterday, but if you missed it, Cooper and I have become the co owners and angel investors of Summer Skin. I don't want to spoil too much, but in this episode, we sit down with Lil the founder and share everything about the process, from how she pitched us to our upcoming plans for
the business. Honestly, it's such a full circle moment because Lil actually did the Rise and Conker project at the time she've reached out, so it's been such an incredible journey and I just cannot wait tell you guys all about it. But before we get into the show, a quick little reminder. We do have the tickets for our Rise Retreat Morning going live tomorrow at six pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, so the link will be posted in the Rise at community, so you have to be part
of Rise to join us. It's going to be an incredible morning. We're going to do a sound healing, a visualization by yours truly, and then we have a breath work and then we finish off with Andrea, who is going to run through how to get in touch with your intuition and your psychic abilities. And she's also going to do a reading or we're going to split up in groups, so it's going to be the most incredible, wholesome morning. It's going to be in the hinterland of
the Gold co so you only feel so grounded. You're going to be surrounded by like minded people. And I'm just so excited because the whole reason why we built the Rise app was we wanted to give you guys a community of like minded people. So to do an in person event where you get to meet others in the Rise app, you get to meet me and the team, it's just going it's going to be magical. It's going to be so surreal, So make sure you have a look at the details of that. But also before we
get into it, a tear quickly. Weekly recommendations, Okay, I have two quick ones.
Yes.
Number one is it's the beginning of the month, so if you've done it for you to self, now is the perfect time to do your monthly audit book.
Thank you so much for reminding us.
I've said a reminded my calendar because I otherwise forget. And my second recommendation is to go to a concert. How was tea Swizzle actually life changing? Genuinely be like a whole new person. It was just like the most amazing experience to be screaming at the top of my lungs with like eighty thousand other people for three hours straight.
She seems like the most captivating person.
Literally, I did like kept everyone's attention for that long, which is hard. And I don't know. I think because each album for me, just reminds me of such a distinct time in my life. It's like revisiting and healing.
It's like therapy.
Yeah. And then tonight, if people listening in real time, I'm going to see the Jonas brothers also.
Well, I loved them back in the day. Yeah, I wouldn't actually know what they sing now.
Oh, it's like an Aero's tour but for them, So it's all the old songs what I've had.
Yeah. Their CD was the first CD I ever bought.
Oh my gosh, show a little bit of inner child, Like, please tell me how it goes.
I will, I'll update everyone. What about you? What are your rex?
Okay, So my recommend I've seen it on BookTalk a lot, but I just want to re recommend. It is called Powerless by Lauren Roberts.
And it's a fantasy.
It's captivating, obsessed with the main male lead character and the main female lead character love. She's like, she can hold her own, she fights, and she's a warrior, and it's a whole thing.
Big vibe. Do recommend. I'll actually give that one a read. I think you'd really like it.
I think I would too.
I'm just in the middle of Akatar. So yeah, and you're taking song.
All right, let's get into the episode.
Lil Cooper, Welcome to the Rise and Conker Podcast.
Gee Coop, thank you for having me. I'm the long lost sibling.
Well we do kind of look like each other.
Well I think me and you look more alike than me and Cooper.
A thousand percent, don't you reckon? Even when in Sydney we rocked up in the same mountfit. So I was in pilards the other week and my instructor came up to me and was like, oh my god, I saw your ad and I was like an ad And she thought I was in the Naked Harvest ad and I was like, no, that's Georgie, which is even weirder because she doesn't know that I know Georgie.
That is the funniest thing ever. When you told me that, I was like what. I was like, Wow, it's giving long lost sister, it is, and for you too, Cooper.
Yeah really now he's got twice the energy.
Yes, anyway, sorry we got sidetracked, Lil.
Welcome to the RNC potty mean Cooper is so excited to have you on and talk about all things investing, Summer Skin, our journey together.
Thank you. I'm having me.
Me and Cooper are actually co owners of Summer Skin.
Yay.
I was expecting it's funny because it is a bit like that, like you don't know who knows and who doesn't know at this point.
Anyway, little, can you just introduce yourself, tell us a little bit about you and your journey with Summer Skin.
I can. I'm Lil. I am a mum and a partner. I have a four year old boy called Albie and a two year old girl called Gracie, which is also wild because Ivy and Gracie are born like four weeks apart to the date.
They literally look exactly like you, like weirdly the same, yeah, twin.
And like a lot of people used to say, oh, your babies are so beautiful, but they look like cartoon characters or something. I'm like, I don't know if it's because they're animated or if.
It's really strong features.
Yeah, they do the big eyes. But yeah. So I am a mom, But I am also a business owner of Summer Skin, which I have been doing for four years now, and it started as a passion project with a stronger meaning behind it, and I'm very grateful now to do it full time with an employee and two amazing co owners beside me.
Thank you so much for introducing yourself and giving us so much information, but we want more.
So I am an eric, am you?
Yeah? Yeah?
No, tell us Okay, well let's get straight into someone.
Tell me what you want to know. I'll give you everything.
Why did you start it? Why skincare?
Why skincare? I suppose when you look four years ago and the market that was already out, there were just so many complicated, chemical based skincare regimes and a clean
living has always been super important to me. I've suffered Migrain's my entire life and hormone imbalances my entire life, but it became really important to me when my dad passed away from a brain aneurysm around twelve years ago, and moving forward from that point, I just felt there was just such an importance for me to, I guess, prioritize what I was putting on my skin and into my body. And at that point in time, skin care wasn't easy to control because it was so chemical dominant.
So I was like, I'm going to create my own because even when you look at deodorant what was on the market, you're literally putting aluminium onto your skin being absorbed into your bloodstream. Ninety percent or more of what you put on your skin is absorbed into your body. And I felt, I suppose that was my control over my health.
So cool.
So you felt out of control and you're like, I'm gonna, yeah, I'm going to control something.
I think there definitely was some anxiety obviously with my dad passing away, and I felt out of control. So I was like, going to control what I can, and that is my skin care and what I eat and chemical deodorant, and there were no natural deodorants on the on the market that worked.
Trust me.
I tell us about because I remember when we were chatting and you were saying about like natural deodorant and You're like, do you know the steel that little die on? Do you know that it's the same chemicals that they literally put in fuel a petrol? Sorry, and you're putting it on your armpits were your biggest like lymph node.
Yeah, I would die on the hill. So, like you know your barbecue, like you're just lighting it up with gas that is in your chemical deodorant. Like it's actually the same ingredients.
That's why I feel so good change.
I so futangs giving science. But yeah, it's it's wild when you actually sit back and look at the ingredients that are in things and look, I'm okay with It's not the I'm like no chemicals allowed. I'm like, why are they're unnecessary chemicals in these formulas that they just don't need to be there.
Yeah.
So it was, yeah, a matter of not being able to find anything else on the market but wanting it and you're just saving us well one day at a time. But it did feel pretty good to like nail a formula. It took a year, and I yeah, when you read the reviews, it's actually pretty cool because it's like I've
had breast cancer, I'm not allowed to use deodorant. And like you're the only deodorant I've been able to use in you know, through treatment or post breast cancer or so you read those and you're like, holy shit, Like the impact these products are having on people is so rewarding.
Yeah, that's incredible. So tell us a little bit, like how do you start a skincare brand?
Yeah, and I suppose it is literally trial and error and you need to have the passion to do it and the want to do it.
Because it is relentless and you guys would know it's recreating formulas, it's not giving up giving up on it, and which is something.
Trust me, the amount of formulas we have tested, and it's like Cooper will like it.
I won't. Like.
It's such a you know, like a personal thing, but you have to constantly retry them, constantly.
A man of failures, endless and then you're like do I just like, do I just blow this off?
Like maybe natural deodorant doesn't work? And then I will never forget. When I got my brothers to try it and they are like my biggest critics and awfully honest, and they were using it and I was like, holy shit, they're going to the gym and they use and Corey at the time was playing AFL and he use my deodorant and sorry, guys, still, oh my god. I was like, I'm a mom, I'm a business owner, I am a partner. Corey,
beautiful Corey. We love you Corey. He actually used to play AFL and suffered horrific for injuries, but when he was playing, he'd use it, and I'm like, that's.
It really is the best natural diodont Yeah, spread it.
It works.
But also we're lucky to have like a moisturizer as well, one hundred percent natural oil and which Coop's favorite love the oil and our self tank glow drops were expanding the range. I don't know how much I can say, so you say whatever you want. My lip oil is it that I've got on? So we love the lip oil. That's been something we've been working on for a while or now. And if it just feels so good, like I was just like watching G's lips before, I'm like, do you love it?
Yeah?
Yeah, you've got some sweeten shout there.
Can you run us through kind of like the pillars of summer skin, Like, what's the important things for you in the business?
Of course, So Effectiveness is my number one important thing. And I say that because it would be so easy to go out and create natural products or you know, chemical free products, clean products, But what is the point if they're not effective. So it's just like the foremost of everything is the effectiveness of these products. And hand on heart, I will never release a product until I'm like it works, and that is like you really do that.
Yeah, Like.
Because if you look back at like four years, like we've almost been working overdrive to get products out this year at the time frame we want to because I'm like, they're not going out. That doesn't work. So it's just like back and forth.
Well, it's very particular.
We run it.
They're adjective a lot of yeah.
Yeah, that's what we love. And it's like why we work so well together. We do work so well together. So effectiveness and clean ingredients and consistency as well is really important to us. And that's what I love. I feel like everything we deliver is so consistent, like the results and the quality of yeah, not only the product, but the branding and the brand in general.
And I also would say like simplicity, Yes, that's what I love about Summer. It's like it doesn't feel overwhelming. It's very like simple. And that's even why we loved Summer because at end h we're very much it's like, we give you the ingredients that you need and that's it. We're not trying to overcomplicate your routine totally.
And like, when I look back even to the beginning, that's what I'd look at. I'd look at these ingredients and I'd be like, but why why is that chemical? Like they don't even need to put fillers in there, like, And it's quite interesting because when you do make like you do those simple formulas that are effective, they naturally become really high end expensive products because you're only putting
the best in them. So what I've loved through the journey is finding out the simpler the product, the more elevated it actually is. And they become so high end because we're only using the best of the best and what's needed. Only the good shit find us at Summer Skin.
Aug.
All right, well, let's get into the juicy stuff and let's actually chat about how Min Cooper became co owners of Summer Skin so little.
I'll ask me first question, what made you want to approach us?
And ironically, it wasn't you both, it was Georgie.
No.
I was actually in the middle of doing the project, which I was just I feel like people are gonna believe this, but it's the truth, do you know what I mean?
Nice, we need some evidence.
I honestly have evidence to back this up. But I was doing the project and.
Show us here enrollment.
My everything. I was manifesting, and I felt like I started doing it because I was just really in this mph, like I felt stuck. And my cousin was like, why don't you do Like why don't we do it together and we can keep each other accountable and we can just get shit done. And I was like, totally, I'm open to everything. I'm very spiritual, I love angel numbers. I've always been that way, so I'm very open minded
and was absolutely happy and excited to do it. And one day I had just been manifesting the success of Summer Skin. Well I'd been doing that every day, but one day I dropped my phone and the old me would have just been like obvious, live with a smash phone for six months because that's me. But in everything that I'd been changing in like my day to day and who I wanted to show up as I was like, no, I'm gonna go get my phone fixed today, and they
were like that's a three hour wait. And the old me would have been like great, I'm not getting my phone fixed. And I'm like, no, I'm going to sit and I'm going to do some self work and just park near a massive open reserve and just sit and do some work on myself. And I was like sitting listening to the potty which I'm now speaking on, which is wild to me, and I was like, I want Georgie to own summer skin with me. I want her
to invest. And I just started honestly writing this down from February last year every day, like I wrote this down every day. I still have the book. And then I was like, I sent an email and I just was like, I'm just gonna give a go. I'm going to send the email. What's the worst that's going to happen. I won't hear back. And that's because it wasn't meant to be. It wasn't a lot, wasn't meant to happen. Send the email. So I did. And at this point,
like I'm going in blind. I'm putting together a pitch deck for myself, like on canber, like like grabbing stats that look important. And then I was like, okay, I haven't heard back. I'm going to try and make this a little bit more open so that you know, I'm
not giving myself one option here. So I started to change it to someone is going to invest in Summer Skin, and strangely, the next day I had a message from a friend saying, Hey, if you're ever open to having an investor in Summer Skin, I'd love to hear from you. And I was just like holy shit, like oh, like, yep, the paths are opened. And I was like, let's have coffee and chat, and I was really open in our conversation that I was like, I'm not I can't one
hundred percent commit to this. I have reached out to someone that I would love to be involved, and I want to give that as much time as I can. So it just didn't feel organic for me. I get home that afternoon and I have an inbox from Georgie Bloody Stephenson, and I'm like, you have got to be joking, Like I all of a sudden just let go of all control, which is obviously so important in the project, and I was like, I'm just going to leave it in the hands of the universe and stop trying to
control this all. And I had this reply and mind you was one of the best day. Was it was just straight to the point. It was like like, let's just get straight to the point. What's the deal? And I was like, I fucking love her. It wasn't even like oh I love your like oh this is a maze like. It was just like, let's get straight to it.
How much and how many?
Honestly, I just I'm a very diffright person. And so I loved the pitch deck. I had looked into summer and so I was like, cool, let's get straight to the point because I'm not fucking around, and I love the sound.
The pitch deck was actually so professional.
It was it's like professional.
I was like, wow, this is a legit business like business.
And I'm like literally at home crying on my keyboard, like somebody, anybody help me. And I just still remember the feeling I distinctively remember. And I was saying, today, I have photos of the entries, I have photos of the email of you even being like great this time next week, and like the old me would have been like, no, this is too good to be true. It's going to cancel. No, it's going to cancel.
No.
And I was like, no, this is going to happen because I deserve this and this is what's meant to be and this is in my path and it's already in my path, and this is all just happening as it was supposed to. And I not one word of a lie. It's been the easiest partnership. Everything has been like, it's like just meant to yea be like we all feel like we've known each other.
Literally, Well, okay, then tell tell us what happened when we jumped on the call.
What was the first thing I said?
G had sent me this the request to the video, and I was like so pumped up, like yeah, I knew G. I knew what was happening. And we get on the call and there's this guy sitting next to her and she's like, Hi, by the way, this is Cooper. We do everything together. And I was just like, oh my god, like she's just totally brought her brother. She's like, yeah, no, we do everything together. So if I come, he's coming too. I was like, absolutely, I will happily take you both,
trust me, I'm following Naked Harvest. You're both welcome. But even that was just like so organic, And usually I would have been like waved with anxiety, like oh, I'm so unprepared for that, but I was like no, it was comfortable.
Very natural.
Yeah, Cooper, how did you feel after the.
First call with Lol?
I remember we hung up and then both looked at each other and both said, let's do it.
Obses.
It was just like, yeah, this is too easy, pretty bad. We don't really like research or look into stuff, thank.
God we do, Cooper. But we also that out.
We go off.
We're heart centered, Yes, we're intuitive, heart centered entrepreneurs.
Yes, so feeling and it's all about the feelings and it feels were good, right, But they we're like, yep, this the vibe.
Yeah, Cooper's like, she's a vibe, she's an.
Energy.
Was right, She's going to be a driver.
It was like she really put it on for the first call ever since the energy.
Stopped as well.
It's so hard I imagine if you're buying into a biness to know that someone is going to carry it and have like their own drive, like they need to be Yeah, in love with the idea of their business, well with their business.
Well, that's what we saw. Me and Cooper straight away.
We were like, she's obsessed with her business, like she is obsessed with Summer, and you could like the you know, the energy of you being like, I believe so wholeheartedly in this business, in why I do it, in these products, like you could feel that, and me and Cooper know that that's what you need in business to make it successful because there's going to be so many challenges, there's going to be so many hurdles, and it's honestly, the people who are successful in business are the people who
can get through those totally.
And that's what we saw in you.
We were just like, she's so dedicated and she's so driven, and you were just like, yeah, let's go. And that's how Mean Cooper do business. So we're like, and I think also Mean Cooper have been around a lot of other people who do business and that's really rare.
Yeah, And we were like, we love her.
And there were so many other I think like values that felt quite aligned, which is obviously why I reached out as well. I reached out because it's what I manifested. But I also reached out because I listened to the potty and there was there were things that I picked up on, even how you said with your mum, she would always you know, for the natural cleaning and the naturalness. When you and I was like same, same, and like all our values just related.
Yeah. When we looked at like the packaging and everything, we're like, this kind of looks like Naked Yeah.
Well it's it's so weird because you created Sumer before Naked Harvest, and yeah, we're like, why does this feel.
Like we would have created this? Yeah, that's what was weird.
We were like the design, everything, the bar, this feels like something mean Cooper would create.
It's so yeah, I think comfort in how many similarities we've had from the beginning, Like it's so natural, I guess going on from that with all we've both created brands that felt the same. But then to rebrand a brand is huge as well, and I feel like no, but like that was so fun as well, and like you'd think if you're working with a team or like three owners to rebrand and be like back and forth, back and forth, No I want this, no, I want that.
It was like a second set of samples and we were all like, oh my god, Like I think we're just on the same page for a lot of things.
Totally, totally.
And then even if you think about like naked harvests and our values as a company, they're exact same and we're all about clean, natural, the bare minimum, the consistency, the simplicity. And I was just like, wow, it just it works because I personally could never own a company that I don't believe in that I don't use the products that I wouldn't you know, commend to someone.
Yeah, so mean Cooper had to, you know, make sure we felt that.
And I think, like obviously probably to people listening, it's like oh cool, she just like sent an email and then they just accepted and it happened. No, that was like a good five weeks of them testing and trialing my product. And I so remember, like any video you put up, I'd like like Prince Green like zoom, I'm like, yeah, yeah, that's the moisturizer.
In the background.
Me and my sister would like send it. Oh my god. Yep, her toilet trees bag is literally in her hairbag, Like yeah, no, she definitely loves it. So the fact as well that you had a business with such similar morals and loved the product. Was one of the biggest compliments. But yeah, I so remember just like cropping me up. Yeah, that's definitely her bathroom. When started skinning that, you went away one weekend and took it. I was like, holy shit, she needs it with her.
Yeah.
Literally, Well we started using it and I was like, oh my god, it's yeah, it's amazing.
Yeah.
And it's like even when we were still.
Ironing out, like you know, all the business aspects and everything like that boring ship, all the boring shit. Yeah, I was using it the whole time, and I was like, some good ship, and.
I'd be like, use it on IVY. Use it on IVY, like especially the oil, like I've told you and cool.
Yeah, And Ash was near me and we're having a bath and you're like put the oil in the bart and ashes like all right, and then did it and then yeah, little prim come out like.
Because you were like, yeah, brings so dry and oil.
A sweet dry girl.
Put the oil in the bar.
So well, it's the only moisturizer that I use on IVY. Tell us more why the rebrand.
I think that even probably you guys could agree and felt it like I'm passionate about the product, but I thought it needed it was time, and I wanted to change, and I wanted the brand to evolve and grow. And not only that, it is such a uni sex product range. And whilst I know that a lot of men are comfortable to use pink, I can hand on heart tell you because of customer feedback, there are actually still a lot of men that aren't comfortable using pink.
And think I did today that to you.
Yeah it's pretty pink.
It's quite good, like a lie.
But yeah, there's a lot of pink feedback about people like even not wanting to use a deodorant, like especially in that I guess you know the eighteen year old boys they're refusing. Well, we've had the direct feedback. I'm not just targeting them, yeah, where their boys won't use the deodorant because it's pink. But I felt like it was really time to like grow the grow the brand.
We're entering a.
New era and the product range. I'm like trying not to say too much, like honestly, yeah, I bear he'll beleeve it out if you know where We're really entering a new era, like it's more than just a skin care brand. It's really like a way of life, if you will.
It's a lifestyle.
It's a lifestyle elevated simplicity. We've discussed this altogether multiple times, and it was originally why the brand was called Summer Skin is because it really does give that deep holiday feel you think about when you're on holiday and it's like your skin feels the best you're around your favorite people. Yeah, it is the best feel a glow, things smell good, things taste good. Donate the skin care, but everything is good on holidays, and that is how we developed the
name Summer Skin. So when we did this rebrand, we really wanted to tap into that and make it more of an experience for our community. So it really is going to be this permanently on holidays with Summer Skin. Era like that.
Yeah, Will, I remember us having a conversation with the rebrand too, and you said, You're like, look, I just feel like, you know, you and Cooper have come on board. I've evolved so much as a business owner. I feel like Summer Skin is evolving, especially with Oh my god, Little just has the most incredible ideas with products. And we've said this a million times, but she's so dedicated and she's so like interested in a very like nerdy way.
I'm imagining like my chats with Coop and he'll be like, so, what do we have coming up? And I'll be like, A, B, C, D, E, F G, H, I, J K L are all in development and he's like OK, and like yeah, they're all being worked on as she's.
Obsessed and love it, and well it's it's incredible.
And then we were like, okay, so the colors, yeah, bringing in that unique setup is the best. Well, and yeah, we just wanted to give Summer Skin like a really exciting new feel.
It was.
I think it's like, because of how massive this next era is going to be, it just wouldn't have done it justice, Like it needed to level.
Up with us because I love a change. I love a rebrand. Don't saying that to me.
You were like, I just love how you're so open to change in feedback and I'm like, I literally love feedback and I love change too, like it only makes you grow.
Yes, it's important, I love like I love a change because it just feels so exciting.
Yeah, yeah, all about it.
Well that if you can chat about how our relationship works because you even touched on a little bit, Like you'd think, you know, three owners would be a bit of a crowd, but like, how has it been working with me and Cooper?
It's like I've gained two besties. No, you don't need to see that, Jesu, it's like your favorite Coop.
Oh my god, Guys.
Every time I'm on the phone to a little she's like, so, how's.
Cooper's I don't know, asking him what's.
He been up too? Oh my god, he's looking so fie.
Stop. I'm so sick of everyone being obsessificate yoga. I don't know anyway, I've got to go.
I'm like, I'm honestly getting up this call. I'm so sicky.
I think as well, like what you said, like you'd think it's too much, it's really not. And it's quite consistent and comfortable and very like approachable. I think we all kind of say it how it is, like we're all very comfortably in what we say, not backwards, in coming forwards. It's been really organic. I think we're very lucky.
No, so easy, I have like i think I've almost been a bit surprised how easy the process has been and how well we've all got on.
And I guess a little bit of an inside of how it.
Works is well, bloody little's in a bloody other state, which is.
Like wild as it is.
It's soying, But.
Anyway, relocate hopefully.
It's some of the works.
In my brain is I'm gonna same, same, same now.
But so what we do is we do weekly calls.
Yeah, so we check in and you know, Lil talks about like what things from production, what's happening, whateverone's up to.
It's kind of like a sounding board.
Hey, so we go back and forward through ideas and pice memo like nothing else.
Yeah, boy, we said each other, mean yeah yeah about our children, Yes too, crazy gals.
We have a talk. It's pretty much three quarters of just us talking shit and then like catching up and it's like, oh, hang on, actually, what's actually happening in the West.
What's this doing with our last cause like forty five minutes and we were like work and then like off topic for twenty minutes and I was like, oh, sorry.
I actually have a real question for you.
He's like, oh yeah, go go go, And then next thing we're talking about meat diets. I'm like I'm justin it's like five point forty five on a Monday night, but you know, it's never like the phone's ringing and I'm like fuck, Like I'm like yay. So I think, yeah, we're lucky.
And then what has been the biggest gain growth anything from this new evolution of summer and you're taking this huge new step.
I think probably the confidence that you guys have given me. Like, sometimes you just need to hear from someone else that what you're doing is a good idea, And it can be so easy to ask someone outside of the industry or doing the grind you're doing give you an opinion and it be just so uneducated and just be like, yeah, maybe you shouldn't and you're like, no, that is not what I wanted to hear. I didn't want you to, Whereas you guys like do it, go for it, let's
do it. Know, like that's business, so, isn't it. You just have to you have no choice.
Yeah.
So it's nice sometimes just to have that that confidence and also guide guidance, so moving forward with very intentional steps, not just walking blind and hoping that what I choose is going to work out. You guys like, no, no, No, we did that. That didn't work.
Yeah, do this, this works, and.
I'm like, yay, I skipped a step like Mario, I'm just like leveling up, fast tracking.
Yeah, there's been a lot of things where like trust trust us, don't even fuck with that because like.
Things I'd never do, Like I'd be like, I'm not Cooper, I'm not ordering that amount of stock, and He'll be like, just do it, and then I'm like, oh shit, yeah I needed it. I needed the stock. I'm sorry because on your own, you just it's easy to doubt yourself.
And we were even saying at lunch before the potty, like something that has been so beneficial for me and Cooper having you know, business partners in one business is having that other person who.
Can absolutely hold space and have your back when.
You are feeling a bit low, when you're not feeling as motivated, when you're not feeling as confident, to kind of like be like, no, you've got this, remember the vision, remember the dream, and you're able to keep on keeping on. And I feel like that's like my favorite thing about all three of us also to hear, like, you know.
Things happen in business and periods happen in business and to hear like, no, that's normal, that's happening to us too, Like to know that you're not alone. Just having yet the support of someone else in the same industry is a huge advantage, like not only to the business but mentally as well.
You just need that, you need something to help you hold your hands sometimes and or bounce stuff off and be like release something, and then that support back being like no, you've got.
This, or calm you down.
In my yeahs to them pretty much every day, yea, when I need to vent or something, it's just good to have that other person be like, well, actually, and then yeah, support but also solutions and yeah, you definitely need that otherwise Yeah, like you said, you'll go crazy.
And totally and like people would like not understand the issue. And I'm lucky as well because I've become close with so many people in your team and I can even bring to them invent and cry and now they're stuck with me forever. Love you, Alex.
Well, what's some advice that you would give someone else who is seeking, you know, an angel investment for their business.
I would say, just honestly make sure that they're the right person, and that they have the best intentions, that you guys share a general interest, that they have the experience or the gaps that you're missing, that you're not just trying to make like a quick fix for your business. I think, yeah, there's a lot of times where you could just be like, Yep, this will quickly be a patch, I'll get this person to invest, but long term that
can be very damaging. So I think you need to trust your intuition, you need to make sure they're the right person, and yeah, filling the gaps that you're missing.
Alignment.
We love it, baby matching tattoos, anyone.
Just say less?
You would so hot seat. Why did you guys say yes to my proposal to my canva deck?
We just felt sorry for you.
Help her? Help her like this.
The truth.
She sent an edible can doc.
No trust us, No I do I do well.
I think it, like we've said kind of the whole podcast is it just felt really aligned with Summer, what you believe in, how you run the business, Like the pillars of your business are so similar to how Mean Cooper do business.
So it made a lot of sense.
And also it really excited me and Cooper because I almost sometimes feel like Naked Harvest is like a fluke, and I'm like, I would love to help someone else in business, you know, go through not as many challenges, not as many hurdles, and apply what we have done to Naked Harvest to that business, because it's like it's been such an incredible journey for us, I want to share it and I hope.
That already, like in the year almost that we've been together, you can see that how not Naked Harvest is a fluke because founday actionally, what we've done to Summer in a year is crazy starts so crazy you can never be like, oh, we flupped that because we've just done everything the same set up, all the foundations and the growth in twelve months.
We've definitely given you a few little pointers and a few things of what we've done, but it's really use stop because we're giving a bit of our blueprint of how we've done Naked Harvest, but given you a template driver that actually takes it. And then that's why we chose you as well, because the.
Hard work and dedication from lilas next level.
Going row.
I like even my family I'll get like send a screenshot and be like how the fuck did I get so lucky? Like I will never forget. There was this Friday and I got this message from Cooper and Gene never since me these and it is like you should be so proud of yourself, like look at your results the past fortnight, like I'm so lucky to have gained
like not only a business partner, but a friend. And I was just like staring at my phone for like twenty minutes, like eat like a gig, I like you georgy restaurants.
Well maybe if you're obsessed with.
A counseling session doesn't stop and it works though it does work for us. But then also I was kept a secret for quite some time, and the the ownership of the business, I think.
That people would definitely be eager to know why so why we didn't announce straight away when we invested in almost top On, I remember.
I'd like tiptoe around and be like I felt like even I couldn't didn't, I like I'd always be kee. I don't think we can really, I don't know, I don't know, just just send a product, but I feel like I just looked.
I think it's something that was really important for me personally and mean Cooper is we. I wanted to obviously because I come with a personal brand, and so I didn't want to announce summer Skin and almost take take it over.
It's like, oh, it's Georgie's brand, summer Skin.
And I wanted to very much make sure that while we were, you know, doing all the foundational stuff and really building the foundations of Summer Skin. You know, like it's still very important that you're the founder. This is your company and it is run how you want it to be, and it's not like me and Cooper come in and we're like it's our company now or anything like that. So I think it was just really important to make sure that that foundation was set and you know,
you you were the founder, and I didn't. I just I didn't want there to be yeah that almost like my personal brand overshadowing it or try and sing that.
I remember kind of having that conversation with you Cuber, didn't.
I you had that conversation with me, okay, good, And I remember being so like grateful for something that I didn't even know like existed, Like I never even looked at it like that, And I was like, you are just so honest and like it was just really nice conversation that you had and you were like, you are the founder and you were like you almost pushed me out of my shell. You were like, you need to own that and own the story and be on the socials and be proud and we can do it together.
Like you never ever wanted to come in and take credit for that. You were like, you need to own that.
And it was just so kind And I think also like we wanted to really help you, like you weren't. We weren't coming in to be the co owners.
Just so you had my face or name.
Yeah, it's about Summer Skin being its own brand, being you know, such a powerhouse, just like I kind of explained to you, you know with Naked Harvest and ron C.
It was really important to me that.
It's why we didn't call it Georgie Stimminson Supplements, Like it needed to have its own brand, its own identity, and that's really important for the long.
Term success of a brand.
So again, we really wanted to make sure that was instilled in Summer And yeah, it just it felt like we needed to do it the right way.
Yeah, that makes sense.
We didn't want to rush it like we wanted to make it fit perfect, feel right, and actually have such a good strategy that felt very connected on all ways. And because like we were kind of pushing at me and you a little bit, then it wasn't quite right, and then we're like not, let's pull it back and let's master it and actually get this thing, get everything perfect.
Yeah, well that's even like you know me and you're chatting about the rebrand the other day, and some timelines we're not adding up, and I said to you, let's just push it a month, like I'd rather it be not rushed, and it's perfect, and it feels so amazing to the community and to summer than just trying to you know, push something through or just getting like you can get over excited, you can get like, oh but I've been working with this rebrand for like twelve months
and like, yeah, let's just do it. But I think if I've learned anything in business, is it's so much better to wait and make sure it's aligned.
And how you wanted it to be exactly.
I think as well, when you guys came on as partners, why we work so well when it aligned is because I think it would be very easy for someone to want you and I love your personal brand, but to want you for your personal brand. But I was like, I want you because you are like a business woman, Like I want you because I want to imp your business strategies. And I remember when you started posting about it.
For me, it was just like this added advantage that you were like, well, of course I'm going to do that, and I was like, oh my gosh, like that is just a whole nother ballgame. I honestly was just so admired both you and Cooper's strategies and the way that you guys did business that I was so focused on that when you started posting, I was like, holy shit, I've got a personal friend too, I think.
Using it every single day, and I.
Think, as well, that's like I'm not saying I'm genuine, but I am. It was like, I genuinely want you guys because you guys are inspirational the way you do business as opposed to but yes, as opposed to being like I want that girl rubbing up my lotion on it every day, Georgia.
Well, I think also, if I'm being very transparent and honestly, I'm nervous going off of what we just said is me and Cooper did want to implement our business strategy and our business knowledge first before my personal brand got involved. Because again it's I see Summer as such like a long term success and a long term project, and it was just really important for us to do it that way because what we apply to Summer is we're you know, we're doing things.
Where you need to test. So you need to test if a certain strategy is working.
So if I'm then interfering too much with my personal brand, things can be skewed and you don't know if the you know, Clavio is actually working.
I actually love that because that's so true what we've been doing.
The post well you know, Facebook ads and that sort of thing. They can be so skewed when a personal brand is involved. And obviously I'm posting about summer, but like you can see when and like you track it all. Yeah, and just like very like genu when it's not like pad posts or anything like that. And so it was very important for the business health of Summer to have that twelve month period where we're.
Like, okay, cool, what's working.
Because even there's some stuff applied to Summer that we don't necessarily apply to Naked Harvest.
Yah.
It's like it's like it's been such a cool experience for me and Cooper to to you know, see what works and have to test things and change things around.
And we're actually going to do that because that works.
Literally, let's that's good unless it better.
The reports didn't work.
Yes, we're not reading a sort of money inside like this is my full a.
Cool but that's like, so that's why we kept you a secret little So it's very it was very important for the business health and to do things the right way.
Yeah, all for good reason. Yeah, I'm happy to be your dirty little secret.
Not anymore, not anymore.
No, Yeah, I'm their long lost sister Cooper.
How does it feel to own another company that's not Naked Harvest and.
R n C?
Pretty good?
This is why you're not allowed to ask questions.
This is what it's like.
It's just mean Cooper on a podcast and he's like, you talk so much.
I'm like, there's no choice. He's like I can't get a word in with you too. We're literally leaving it open.
For me personally to do a business and actually be
involved in something that will impact this world. That feels way better than because it is kind of an investment as well, but it's an investment that kind of is for my personal as well as business, and then it kind of completes everything and I don't want to go and do like buy property or something like that, which that's gone off topic bites, but like to invest in a company that you have passion and then you have relationships and then you have changing the world and like
that's that's where I thrive off. Like I love that. So that's why this just feels so natural and.
That I remember you saying that Cooper, you were like, fuck investing in property. Yeah, You're like, this excites me, like getting on a call with Lil you know, putting certain strategy into summer or you know, implementing certain things and then seeing a result and like having to change things around and stuff Like He's like, this is what excites me. And then also making sure it's an aligned you know company again having such a good impact on
its community. It just like it's so heart centered and it just feels, I think as.
Well, so different. You're like you are very like a heart centered person, like even on a deeper emotional level, but like with us, you're always just like you wait, like even in our strategy meetings, like it always comes back to a personal level and he's like you just wait, like wait until you see what your life is. What I'm like, I want to live near the beach's like you wait, like you're gonna live near the pace?
Like just why?
Like everything is coming to you, but you're always so about that, Like you're like so heartfelt and you want to change people's lives. I feel like it's very genuine. You're a very genuine person.
It's fu got to back it, do you know what?
I feel like me and you are just like I can't even like we just get along to we're the same. When we met in Sydney, the girls were like, wait, you guys haven't met. Wait you guys address the same. Did you guys plan your outfits? You guys look the same? You guys talking about And we're like, yeah, we're the same.
We're the same person.
So it's been very easy, right alright.
To be right off.
So I love you so much, my sisters.
I do want to ask what is your face scripts? What is your favorite product? I want to know which one?
What's your favorite how many am I allowed to have.
One?
I feel like it has to be the deodorant because I am so proud of the formula. It is such a hard formula to nail, and I nailed it, and now we've nailed it. I use it every day. I confidently recommend it to everyone. I'm just so proud of it, and I'm proud to see what other flavors that's coming in. We don't have any yet, but that'll be there. What's yours? I feel like I know yours, Cooper, but yeah, tell.
Me all right, Mine's the oil. I have it twice a day every day.
What are you drinking it?
I'll have a shower in the morning and I'll put it on my face because always, yeah wash my face.
If you guys have seen my social media, honestly, they changed my life.
I know, like I know.
It's like the biggest compliment I get every time I wear them. I come in the office and it's like, oh my god, it looks so glory and the way good.
You don't need to wear as much more like you don't need to wear makes, you don't need to wear makeup. Start Anyone that like goes into labor uses the glow drops and we'll message us and be like, oh my god, I looked so good in labor.
Yeah, that's such a niche example.
I love it.
It's important. Yeah, give them to Alex.
No, definitely, the glow drops a they just like, yeah, they make me feel so glowy, so good. It's that whole trick of doing something that makes you low maintenance.
I don't have to wear makeup.
Oh my god, because that is did the glow jobs once?
Yeah, everyone myself.
And it was like, selling's not right. What's going on your ten ship? And then everyone pointed it out.
And I was like, can you use them again just so we can take some photos for socials?
Bye?
Okay, so too much.
It was ten o'clock in Adelaide, so nine point thirty in Gold Coast and my phone starts ringing and it's Alex, who works very closely with Cooper.
She's like, Coper, here's the glory d.
She's like, oh my god, he just walking He's glowing like that's everyone said, Oh my god, Cooper, you are glowing.
I just want to it looks like he had foundation on. What's your face?
Try to put it off? Like this is.
All right, last question, Lil, to finish off the potty, what is the best advice you've ever been given?
I love this piece of advice is always be open to feedback, Always be open to learning. Don't think that you know it all. And that has honestly changed my life because I love feedback. I thrive from feedback. I love change, and I think if you can just swallow your pride and actually learn to enjoy feedback and change, your life will change. We love that.
And the very last question, You're a project galley, so you should know what a core belief is.
What is the most strongest core belief?
This is super hard because I think that when I did it, I unveiled all this horrific relationship that I had with money and I didn't realize how bad it was until I did the project. And I think that at the end of the day, like I can do my journaling, but I will never not have something in there that comes back down to that. So like a core belief for me is that I'm financially free but also abundant in all aspects of life. So whilst my my troubles or troubles when I was what's the word
when I was wrapping everything. I feel like it was a lot to do with money and that things flow to me in all aspects. And ever since I have made this focus on abundance and financial freedom, things just fall into my lap.
Ever since I've been reach.
Well I'm just talking in future, but even car parks, I'm not kidding, ask anyone, it's it's receiving energy. I rock up anywhere and I get I get a dream of car park everywhere. I would never have anything but front rope because that's just what everything flows to me. Baby, I love that. So yeah, I'm abundant. If you could say.
Lil thank you so much for joining us on the potty and answering all the questions. First of all, me and Cooper just want to say a big thanks for having us a part of the Summer Skin brand.
I love you guys so much.
Thank you for having us, love having me here.
