Well, what are you waiting for? Let's Rise and conquer. Hey, guys, welcome to another episode of the Rise and Podcast. Today,
I've got a solo EP for you. It's going to be quick and sweet and hopefully motivational. So I actually just got off my stories chatting about this, but I was just feeling so inspired and hyped up because I, I don't know, I truly believe that I often, you know, get these feelings and stuff that comes to my life, and I often feel like if I'm feeling this and I feel really passionate about it, it's something that I
usually have to share with my audience. I don't know if this is super weird, but I have just this really overwhelming reason of this is why I have my platform, and it's to empower and inspire other women who are going through something I previously went through or doubting themselves.
So let's get straight into it. So I was on my lunch break I give myself like an hour, and I was watching a Ted talk because somethink I do when I'm feeling just a bit like blah or just like I, you know, I want to consume some content, but I you know, I want it to be entertaining. But I don't want to go watch like a TV show. I want it to be somewhat of you know, personal development and giving me value. So often I'll google good
like Ted talks and watch them on YouTube. And so I watched one and it was good, and then I stumbled across another one and it was really good. I'll
get Grace to link it in the show notes. It is about being your authentic self, which is actually, you know, something I talk about a lot, And just basically, this woman was explaining that we are all and her belief is like, you know, we're all here for a purpose, and our life is meant to have a purpose, and we're meant to be so different and not conform and not just you know, lead the same lives of you know, going to university and then getting married and then finding
a stable job, and you know, all that thing of what we feel like we're supposed to be doing. Her big thing was like things are supposed to be different. We are supposed to be different, and that's what is so beautiful. And I just loved it. It was just such a great reminder that you know, we all are so different, we're all on this journey, and it was
a great thing. In the YouTube, I can't remember her name, but it was a singer and she was getting asked because she was about to perform after someone who was like really well famous, and she was getting asked if she was nervous to perform after you know, this really inspiring famous woman, and she was like, don't get me wrong, Like she is amazing, and that is like her performance will be amazing, but also I am amazing, and I have a certain gift and I have a difference, you know,
to give to the audience and express myself and like we can't compare ourselves because we both give so much. And yeah, it was just really beautiful. Anyway, I'm really getting off track here, but that was also a great message I wanted to share, and I will. Yeah, I'll link that Ted talk in the show notes so you
can go check it out. But then after and you know how like the video will automatically load something, so it loaded one of my old videos and I think this was because I wasn't signed into my account, so it didn't know it was me, and it loaded one of my old videos and it was a video and I checked like the stamp date and it was exactly two years ago, roughly two years ago, and it was a video I made when I was working full time in my corporate position as a like a senior law clerk,
and I was doing my pot and I was just about to get admitted as a lawyer. At this point, I did know I wasn't going to pursue law, but I just really wanted to finish it, get admitted. You know, I had just studied for six years, so I wanted that piece of paper and then, you know, to make sure that I could go back to my career in law if I wanted to. So I was at that stage and I'm watching and I just like started watching the video and it's like, you know, I'm waking up.
It's I'd start the night before and I'm prepping my lunch and then I'm way because I think at this point too, I was getting ready for my wedding. So I was really into like hardcore training and dieting. Not dieting, but I was just you know, I was going to gym early and stuff like that. So I was like packing my lunch the night before, I had cooked it. And then the next morning, you know, I got up at four o'clock and I got ready. I kissed him goodbye. He's still asleep. I go to gym, I smash out
a session with my pet. I come back and I make my lunch and I quickly get ready and I'm like at the bus stop, ready to jump on the bus before seven o'clock. And I'm just like watching it, like in disbelief. And obviously, you know that was my life for so long, but I'm watching it. I'm like, oh my god, Georgie, like you hustled girlfriend, like basically egging myself on. And then you know, I did my
work day. And it's funny because I I film like little snippets of like getting into work, and because I would walk to the bus and like flats, like ballerina flats, and then once I'd get to work, I'd like put heels on and be in heels all day. And I
just remember hating that because it was so uncomfortable. But like I literally filmed taking my ballet flats off and putting my heels on, and even like I saw a little bit of my old office, and like, I literally just started crying because it was just so emotional for me, because you know, for so long that was my life. And even though at that point I knew this was not the end goal, I was like giving it my all. I was absolutely giving it my all because I just
knew I wanted bigger, better things. I knew I had to hustle to get there. This episode is brought to you by my very own find Your Filter precepts. If this sounds like something you need, the precepts on my website, which is Georgie Stevenson dot and I'll make sure I put a link in the show notes. Okay, let's get straight back into the episode. And it's just like it's so crazy to think because you know, back then, I didn't even know what this life looks like now.
And you know, like I got there in the end, and I'm not saying where I am now is my end goal in any way, but it literally brought me to tears to think about my life then and to think about my life now, because back then I can just see like I was, you know, I was working a job that I did because I, you know, wanted to have a certain you know, first of all, like I wanted to please my parents, and I wanted to have,
you know, a certain status in society. And basically I was doing what I thought I had to do instead of really what I was passionate about. And I was like not sleep walking through my life because you can see like I was being quite intentional, but just my life now compared to then, Like I was like, I don't know if this is going to be too bold, But I look back at my life and I was like, I could have so easily given up, not like lent into those feelings of intuition and lent into those feelings
of I made for something more. I want to do more. And I could have just had that life where you know, I went into law and I did family law and it would have been fine, like it was an amazing life.
But I think of my life now, which it's only two years difference, and it literally it brings me to tears because I'm like, oh my god, if I didn't, you know, take bold action, if I didn't keep going when it was hard, if I didn't you know, if I had listened to everyone else, and if I had done what I thought I should do rather than listening to you know, my passion and like I call it, like the light inside of me, the fire inside of me. I could have still been in that life, and like
I'm not. It's not about it being a shit life or anything like that, because you know, I adored that life. But I guess I'm trying to say how I feel now and how I live now. It feels so authentic. It feels so like this is what I'm born here to do. It just feels so aligned, it feels so authentic, and I just like it brought me to tears because I am so grateful for where I'm at. And I guess, you know, for a long time, I just I didn't feel clear on myself. I didn't really know who I was.
I didn't really know why I'm you know, on this planet, or what I should be doing or who I should be pleasing. And I honestly like, and I've said this before, but I felt like I was in a big, a bit of a fog, and you know, there was these little signs and there was these little feelings, and I, you know, i'd listen to a podcast, like a podcast like this with a woman saying something and I'd you know, i'd feel empowered and then I'd make this next step.
And I guess what I'm trying to say, guys, is if you're currently not where you want to be, keep going, keep fighting, keep pushing, keep following those little, you know, steps of intuition and you know, listening to the stuff that makes you feel good and being around people who makes you feel good and then not letting people who
are quite toxic or quite negative get you down. Because like, like I said, like it would have been so easy for me to stop and just have accepted this mundane life that yeah, like it was fine, but it was not my passion, and it would have been so easy to do that, And it makes me so sad because
I just know so many people would do that. And so what I'm saying is, you know you're dream life, your most authentic life might be around the corner, and it is your responsibility to keep going, to keep pushing. And it's okay if you're not clear, It's okay if you don't know what that you know specifically looks like I had. If if you spoke to me back then and you said, Georgia, what does your dream look like?
Dream life look like? It? Like I couldn't have told you, and I don't think I would have described how I'm currently living. But I feel like, you know, I'm living my dream life, like I can boldly say that, and it's just, yeah, it's like crazy to think that. It also was a huge part of you know, like putting myself first, putting my passions first, and going, hey, I don't care what people think, I don't care what I
should be doing. I care about this feeling of purpose and passion and I'm just going to see what happens. And it was like messy action. It's not like I had all this clear action and it all just came like it was messy, bold action. And there were so many times where I felt so uncomfortable. There were so many times where I felt so unclear. There were so many times where people were like, oh my god, Georgia, you just studied six years and now you're going to quit.
What are you doing? Like, what are you doing? There was so much at that and I could have listened to it, but I didn't, and I listened to myself and yeah, I just kept going and I'm so I'm so proud of myself and I can honestly say that, and yeah, so anyway, there's been a bit of a rant, bit of a random podcast, but I strongly believe that, you know, I'm given these sort of you know, messages and thoughts because I know so many others would be
feeling exactly how I was back then take a breath. So, guys, yeah, just your weakly reminder to keep going, keep pushing, keep exploring your passions, keep leaning into the feelings that light you up, that make you feel good, and also the biggest thing I want to have, Like, even though I didn't know what this dream life looked like, and I didn't know why that feeling of you know, I meant for bigger, better things, I didn't know what that looked like.
But I just had so much faith that if you know, if I kept working, if I kept putting one foot in front of the other, you know, I trusted the universe would bring it to me. And you need to have that belief. Have faith. If you want amazing things, have faith the universe will bring you amazing things. You deserve that and so much more.
