Girl friends, Let's rise and conquer. Hey guys, and welcome to another episode of the Rise and Conquer Podcast. I'm pretty sure this would be the first episode of twenty twenty, which is just crazy that we are going into a new decade. But I'm so excited.
I love this time of year. There's so much like fresh energy and motivation and you start looking at your goals and shaping new goals and yeah, I'm just very excited. So I wanted to chat today just about something that I have been thinking about a lot and it's something that I did, especially a couple of years ago, that really shaped the person I am now and really helps me achieve who I want to be and achieve my goals. So this could be a really amazing tool for you
guys for twenty twenty. And before I get into it, I do want to touch on living in the past, because I know sometimes you know, it's a new year, we have these new goals, but then our mind is constantly like reverting back to things that happened previously, whereas you know, maybe it's something that you wish you did differently,
or obsessing of you wish you did something sooner. But I wanted to remind you that that gets you absolutely nowhere, and we can waste so much of our energy living in the past, which is something that we can't control. It's been and it's done, Whereas our future is something we can control and we can be putting in new
energy to really create the future we want. So just a little something to touch on at the start is make sure that you are putting time and energy into your future self and not giving too much thought into your previous self. So you know, if something really bad happened in twenty nineteen, or maybe it's just you didn't get done what you wanted to get done or something like that. Don't waste too much time thinking about it, and let's get straight into putting energy into your future self.
So every single day our thoughts are really shaping our future self, and every single day our actions are either you know, setting us up for who we want to be and what we want, or really they're sabotaging us. And when we really realize that, you know, we don't have control over everything in our life, but we do have control of who we are and how we show up and handle things. So I want to talk about the power of visualization. So I use a number of tools.
If you have me on Instagram, I like journaling and meditation. I have to do lists, I have a vision board, like I have a lot going on that I am really all about, you know, goals and that sort of thing. But our tool that is really powerful and I don't talk too much about, is visualization. So I remember when I was working the corporate I was working in a law firm, and at this stage it was six months before I had left and gone off and done my
own thing. And at this stage, I had kind of decided in my mind that I was going to leave, and I didn't want to stay there anymore. But I was just about to finish my pot and get admitted as a lawyer, and so I just wanted to see that out. So I was going to stay there. And I remember so the trip in, I used to catch the bus in and it was forty minutes each way, and majority of the bus ride I would spend time visualizing. And when I say visualizing, it's kind of more daydreaming,
but with intent. So I would visualize about the person the woman I wanted to be when I had quit that job and I was doing my own thing, and I didn't focus too much on how I would get there, but I was really visualizing, like in the future, everything was set up and who I wanted to be. So I would visualize having this amazing team around me. And at this point, I hadn't even, you know, had the idea about Naked Harvest or even this podcast, which are
my crew biggest things in my life projects. And that's what I mean, like I don't get stuck too much on like the small details, but I just had this vision that I was doing something important I was doing something really passionate, and I had this amazing team around me.
I would literally imagine the whole day. So I would imagine waking up without an alarm, but my body clock would wake me up, and then I would spend a good hour doing my morning routine, which would include like you know, a workout or walking the dogs in the
sun and having my coffee and meditating and journaling. And that's because at that point, I was starting work at seven thirty, So I was leaving my house every morning at like I swear, six thirty or something like that, and so I had little time to do my morning routine and it was something big to me. So I would really visualizing having enough time to really like do my morning routine, which is something I love. I would
visualize really feeling fulfilled about what I was doing. I would even visualize, you know, little details like because I was working corporate, and those of you who work corporate, like, you know, you gotta wear these like corporate outfits, Like I'd always be wearing this pencil skirt with a shirt, and I would be wearing keels because we'd be going to court a lot, and it was so uncomfortable and I'd have my hair in this fun and so I
would visualize, you know, like working my pajamas most days, or like working comfy clothes and taking an hour and being able to cook myself a yummy, nutritious lunch, whereas I'd always have to prepare my lunch. So like little things about how I wanted my life to change. So I was really happy and fulfilled. So I spent a lot of time visualizing that person who she was, all the little details, long before I even quit my job.
And now looking back, it's really funny because the life that I was visualizing, even though so many details I could not even like comprehend, it is so similar. And I am pretty much that person that I was visualizing like two years ago, which is it's crazy, but it's something that I really believe in. let's get straight back into the episode. So I want you guys to start thinking about First of all, start thinking about your goals and what you want to achieve in twenty twenty. And then once you've got that figured out, I actually have a goal kind of like planning podcasts, which I might actually replay otherwise. I'm pretty sure it's just like episode one, so you can go back and listen to it if you want some more advice on
actually creating goals. But once you have that figured out, I want you to start really visualizing who the person is once you achieve those goals. So usually we wait to achieve our goals to feel a certain way or to show up as a certain person. So basically, I want you to to start envisioning yourself as who you
want to show up as in twenty twenty. And I'm talking about once you have achieved your twenty twenty goal, what does that person look like, how does that person act, what does she wear, what are the little habits she does? And I want you to start visualizing that person because when you are visualizing, you are vibrating at that energy of that person of achieving that goal, and then you
start attracting that goal. So, for example, if you're constantly thinking about how much you hate your job or how much you hate something in your life, it is very negative and you are focusing on the negative aspects instead of focusing on who you want to be and the positive aspects. So once you get clear on who you want to be, I challenge you to start showing up as that person now. So often we say to us we will change how we are once we get to
where we want. So, for example, if you want a job promotion, you'll feel more fulfilled and happy, but you're waiting for that promotion to have those feelings, Whereas, why can't you start feeling those feelings and showing up as that person who got the job promotion. Or you know, maybe you're waiting to get engaged, you're waiting for this ring to feel more secure in your relationship. Why don't
you start acting like you already have that. Or even maybe you have a weight loss goal or a body goal, or you want to build muscle and you're waiting for that to love your body, why don't you start loving your body now and really showing up as a person who has achieved that goal and see how you feel. So I know this might be hard, but trust me when I say this works. For example, when I was working in the law firm and doing my degree. So
this is probably halfway through my degree. At this point, I didn't know that I wanted to do something else. I wasn't passionate about anything else, and I was very clear that I wanted to be a solicitor, like I was doing my law degree. And this is before I even did any self development or anything. I think my mind has always kind of worked like this. But my goal was to be a solicitor, and I was a law grad, and so what I started doing, I started
showing up as if I was a solicitor. And I don't mean like I was telling people I was a solicitor, but little things like I noticed all the solicitors that were really hard working, so they would stay late, they'd work through lunch, and so I would be staying late. I'd be working through lunch. I would wear heels, like I knew a lot of the law grads war flats, and I wanted to wear heels because most of the
solicitors wore heels. Like that's such a small detail, but it really made me feel like I was showing up and up leveling. And so basically I would like act and dress and show up as what like the goal I wanted, and I remember seeing a huge difference in my performance, and even I remember my boss noticing and obviously I didn't even like go on. Well, I did become a slister, but even though my goal changed, I
noticed such a difference in myself. So if you are currently thinking about your twenty twenty goals and you think, Okay, once they happen, I'm going to feel a certain way, or I'll start showing up as a certain person, I really challenge you to start doing that now. So start thinking about how would that person dress, Maybe you need a closet overhaul, or you know, how would that person show up in this situation? How would that person treat
other people? Maybe you struggle with always being late and it's simply being on time and that is showing up for you. Or maybe you lose your cool really easily and you tend to snap at others, and maybe you being more patient is showing up as that person. So really start thinking about how you can start showing up in twenty twenty as the woman you want to be or sorry person if you're a male, start thinking about the person you want to be in twenty twenty and
start showing up as them now. Like I know it, it's very simple, but I really love this exercise guys, and trust me, it helps start visualizing and showing up as the person you want to be in twenty twenty. It is that simple. I'm sorry I keep repeating myself. So to finish the episode, I wanted to do a couple of journaling prompts that may help you just get more clear on visualization and who you want to be showwing up in twenty twenty. So write these down, come
back to them. I'll put them actually in the show notes. If you go to my website which is just Georgie Stevenson dot net, and then you find this episode in the podcast tab. I'll make sure these prompts in the show notes so you can go there too. So start thinking about who do I want to be in twenty twenty? What goals do I want to accomplish? Then ask yourself, am I currently showing up as that person who would
achieve those goals? What habits or changes could I make to show up as that person I want to be? And what habits can I let go of that are not serving me and that will help me show up as that person, and then the very last one. What am I excited about showing up as this person? So that's just a really simple exercise, guys, but I promise you can make such a big impact. Visualizing really put you on the vibration frequency of who you want to be, and that attracts that goal or that person. So it's
really really important. I am going to love you and leave you. Thank you so much for listening.
