2x07: Masquerade

Katherine sends a message to the Salvatore brothers: hand over the moonstone tonight at the masquerade ball, or she will rip apart the town until it rains blood. But Katherine predicts that Stefan and Damon won’t hand the moonstone over without a fight, so she brings her very own Bennett witch for backup and keeps a few tricks up her sleeve. Katherine knows her boy toys well because the Salvatore brothers enlist Bonnie, Caroline, Alaric, and even Jeremy to put their plan into motion. Their plan? Kill Katherine Pierce. Stefan and Damon are almost successful, but one of the tricks up Katherine’s sleeve is linking herself to Elena. Anything Katherine feels Elena does too, so no one can kill her but fortunately, Bennett witches stick together. Though her plan to get the moonstone doesn't work out, triggering Tyler's werewolf curse does. After the party, Elena, who has barely recovered from the night, gets kidnapped for the second time.
