Of course, I'm sure by now you've already seen the news that co founder of Turning Point USA and conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has been shot
at Utah Valley University today. He was there having an event, his usual proved Me Wrong event where he has an open mic, herphone and welcome's debate on various topics. The event had just started when Charlie Kirk was shot, and you know from video and reports it appears he was shot in the neck, and that is very troubling for sure.
We're still waiting for more information at the moment. The last update I saw from Fox News they have updated his condition to critical condition, which is amazing in the sense that if you saw the video, the close up video, if it was one of those where I feared the worst when I saw it, and my thoughts in prayers go out to this man and his family. He's thirty
one years old and he's a father of two. And whoever, this gutless coward of an assassin is again you just because somebody says something you disagree with, this is what you decide to do. Let's make no mistake. This is an assault on freedom of speech. You go after somebody like Kirk, and you go after people and voices that you disagree with. It's a way to try to intimidate folks into silence. It's a way to try to get others to not join in in the discussion. In the dialogue.
Prayers are definitely being lifted. We're all hoping for the best. There was a statement released from Utah Valley University. They said, we had a speaker, Charlie Kirk, who was invited by a student group Turning Point USA, who was speaking on campus today at noon at about twelve to twenty, shots were fired from a building about two hundred yards from
the speaker. To the best of our knowledge, the individual was hit and was taken away immediately by a security person out The campus is closed for the rest of the day, and our campus police has a suspect in custody. Of course, Fox News right before I started recording, announced that the suspect that they had in custody is not the shooter. The shooter is still at large, so we're still waiting to see what we can find out. Prayers,
of course, are needed. We're seeing prayers being sent out, and it's just senseless, you know, and the fact that here we are watching this happen. This comes on the end of It comes on the heels of course shootings that seem to be targeting conservatives. President Trump was targeted twice during the presidential election. It's frightening, to say the least, and it's one where we're all going to be praying
for people to heal and recover. Our good friend, Chris McDaniel he posted political violence has no place in America. Yet once again a conservative voice has been targeted today, Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking to students at Utah Valley University. Regardless of anyone's political views, an attack on free speech is an attack on the very foundation of our republic. Over the last several years, we've watched the
American left grow increasingly hostile to opposing viewpoints. Conservative students have been shouted down, speakers counseled and even and events disrupted. Now tragically words have turned into bullets. Our nation must say with one voice, enough debate should be one with reason, persuasion, and truth, not intimidation or violence. We pray for Charlie's swift recovery, for his family, and for every American who
values the principles of free expression and peaceful disagreement. And we recommit ourselves to the fight for liberty, knowing full well that freedom always has enemies. for Charlie Kirk. I mean, we're hoping that this turns out to be a miracle that we're sitting back and talking about how Charlie Kirk survives. And I hope that they get this scumbag that took the shots. I hope they find him, and if there are multiple people involved, I hope they get them all, because again, this is a disgusting act. The FBI is investigating. So the FBI is involved now as well. Of course President Trump he
put out a statement as well. His statement on social media was we must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. God bless him. That's what Trump put on his truth social earlier today. So we are still waiting to see or Vice President Jedi Vance he put up Dear God, protect Charlie in his darkest hour, Man said wrote earlier on X say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuine
good guy and a young father. So there are and there are multiple other politicians putting out their statements on both sides of the aisle. But again, let's have debates, as Chris said, debates, not bullets. If you can't win the debate, then concede. But then the fact that you're so scared of what we might have to say that you have to pick up a gun and silence a voice. It's disgusting, it's disgusting, and it's something that again we're going to have to. Oh wow, Charlie Kirk has died.
It just broke as I was getting ready to wrap this episode up. Charlie Kirk has passed away from his injuries. Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk has died after being shot in an event on Wednesday. President Trump has confirmed Kirk's death in a post on True Social saying, the great and legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now he is no longer
with us. Melayna and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife, Erica and his family. Charlie, we love you. So Charlie Kirk has been assassinated and a voice silenced because some group or moron disagreed with him. It is a tragic day here in America, a dark day in our country. Wow, I think I'm gonna scrap this one.
And I don't know. I mean, you're this isn't live radio, of course, and I could put out something later, But now that the news has broke that he has died, it's all we can do now is pray for his family and pray for justice because this is one of the most disgusting, despicable acts that we have seen. So I am I have talked about Charlie on this show before. I have talked about his videos, and I've played clips
of his videos. I've been a fan of the way that he engaged in dialogue and spoke to the youth, got them involved. And now, because of as less act, because somebody didn't like what he had to say, we've lost Charlie Kirk. I'm gonna stop right here. I don't know what more to say.
