Episode description

With J.D. Vance and Tim Walz set to square off in the Vice President's debate tonight, my question is simple. Does it even matter? Will we get a true debate? Or will this just be a battle for the best sound bite?

Escape to our river resort. Later tonight, we'll have the vice presidential debate. We'll have Tim Walls and jd Vance sharing this stage to tell us once again why we should support either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. This debate will probably be the last time we see any type of presidential debate this year. My honest opinion is we're not going to see another Trump Harris debate. I think this is the opportunity for Team Trump to have a better showing than they did in the Trump Harris debate.

But it's not going to be an easy task because again jd Vance has been painted as this bad person. He's been called by the liberal media the worst vice presidential pick ever, which is false. We know this because we've seen with our own eyes folks that are worse. But if you flip that on its head, the media has already told you that Tim Walls is this great human being. He's a dad, he looks like the everyman. Hopefully,

tonight it will be a debate on the issues. Hopefully tonight it will be a debate where the moderators aren't the story at the end of the day. Hopefully tonight will be a night where we can actually watch and maybe see two candidates actually discuss their different ideas on how to advance the nation. Somehow I doubt it. Somehow I believe that it'll still be what most debates nowaday are, and that is the never ending battle for the thirty

second SoundBite. It's going to be a show in which we're going to see both candidates trying to one up the other one with the most memorable zinger of the night. Policy and stuff like that will get thrown out the window because nowadays what we watch when we're watching these debates, it's no longer watching the debates to try to help make up our mind. Make no mistake about it, the

majority of the voters have already picked a side. They already know if they're voting for Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. They have already made their decision. This is, in many ways the undercard debate, because it's the vice president's It's

not Trump, it's not Harris, it's falls. In advance, you will see both tribes claim victory at the end of the night, no matter who actually wins the debate, if there is even a clear winner tonight, because if it is just about trying to get the best thirty second SoundBite. I don't think that's a true way to win a debate, but it is now days. It's going to be interesting because again, I think Tim Walls is a formable opponent. I think JD. Vance is probably a very formidable opponent

in his own right. I think you're going to see maybe them have a little bit better format than what we saw in the first presidential debate. But I don't know. I'm very suspect, as you can tell. At the end of the day, what does this debate matter? Is it going to move the needle one way or another? And I honestly don't think it will full disclosure, I'm not sure I'm going to sit down and watch it tonight. I'm leaning more towards just watching the clips after the debate.

My mind is already made up. I'm voting for Donald Trump, you know. I see Kamala Harris and Tim Walls and their policies that they put forth, and I think they're dangerous to our constitution. I don't think that they care much about the Constitution. I think they believe too much in the strength of a strong government, and I want a weaker government. I don't want a strong federal government,

but that's the belief structure that they have. A strong federal government takes away your rights, it strips away your individual liberty. That is basically the position of the Democrat Party nowadays. So whether or not I watch a vice presidential debate or not, it's not going to change the way that I feel about that. The real question is how many Americans are actually going to tune into this thing? And an even bigger question is out of however many

tune in, are they tuning in honestly? Are they honestly tuning in to try to decide who is going to be the person that gets their vote? Are they honestly going to be watching tonight's debate to try to decide who gets their vote. I just don't think that's going to be the case. We're getting closer and closer to

the end of this presidential election cycle. I know I'm not alone and being one of the many who's ready for this presidential election to be over with because it has been a trying, interesting campaign season to say less. But again, there is a curiosity style substance which one wins out. Will we even get any true substance or will this entire debate be all about style. So there's definitely going to be some curiosity about how this goes.

But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if I walk away from tonight's debate thinking Tim Walls won the debate or whether I think jd Vance won the debate, because I'm voting for Trump fans no matter what, and I got a strange suspicion. The majority of you out there who are going to be watching tonight have already decided as well. This has been morning Coffee with the Right Side, and I'm your host, Jack Fairchilds, and

we're a part of the Midnight Ride Network. This show has been brought to you by Earl River Casino and Resort
