Well, the longest government shut down in American history is coming to an end. It finally had enough Democrats crossover to end. It now comes the who won,
who lost? And anybody trying to claim Democrats one in some way, shape or form, is kidding themselves, and fortunately most are not. The Democrats were never on the right side of this fight, despite some of the folks that are out there trying to defend them. They were just trying to get more. But Republicans want to poke their chest out and claim victory. I don't necessarily view it as a victory to continue the same budget that was approved under Joe Biden. At the end of the day,
the long term, this will be a push. Short term, the Republicans get this claim victory because it is their side that did not cave. Democrats now are left reeling trying to figure out whether or not they want to keep old Chucky Schumer in his position or not, which spoiler alert, they probably are going to try to oust him because again they're going to make him to face the failure, the fact that the Democrats played this game and held hostage federal workers member people in our country
that need a government assistance. And I'm not talking about the ones who abused the system who were also cut off during that time. I'm about the ones who actually needed the help and are working to get off that help. I have a lot of sympathy for them because for the few moments it looked like they might not be able to eat to afford basic needs. But finally cooler heads prevailed and for once, the Democrats take a black black eye after this type of a battle, this type
of fight, because they didn't get what they wanted. They weren't able to force through. I've already seen different commentators from the likes of John Stewart on down being critical of the Democrats, saying that they had him. When did they have him? I don't think they ever had this fight one but it's crazy to watch some of these people the way that they acted this time. Now that the Democrats caved as opposed to other government shutdowns when they got what they wanted, it goes to show how
spoiled they were. They just knew, no matter who's right or wrong in the shutdown, that their side was going to win, because it always did. They want to point to the historic winds last Tuesday, which weren't as we talked about that historic. They were areas that they were expected to win. So it goes to show that your democratic strength that you believed that you had is not that strong at all. It went to show that these Democrats who felt really really good about themselves a week ago,
were kidding themselves. Now, what does that mean going into next year in midterm elections? Who knows? Voters have such a short term memory that even just a few months removed from the shutdown might not mean anything if something crazy happens between now and then and it tips the
skills one way or another, who knows. Right now, Republicans probably feel good about their odds going into the midterm elections, but at the same time, they can't sit there and poke their chest out too much because if they do that and they aren't working towards making sure that the Republicans are doing things that they promised. They could end up looking up and going Okay, there goes our majorities.
Like I said, I don't think this is an indicator yet on what will happen during the midterms next year. I don't think that this is an example of where we are at this point. But it could be the end of the day the government is going to be back up and running, and is that necessarily a bad thing? No for some of the folks that it needs. But at the same time, I hope that Congress actually starts to try to make ming ful cuts. I hope that Kris actually tries to tackle this out of control national
deficit instead of continuing to grow it. But I'm also a realist and I understand that that's not going to happen. They're not going to realistically try to cut the spending. Why do I say that, because they never have. They've constantly gone down this same path time and time again. It's who they are, it's what they do, it's what they believe. It's frustrating, for sure, but it is what we've come to expect. Who knows, maybe this time they'll
surprise me, but I highly highly doubt that. Now, before I wrap up this morning, coffee be advised that tonight we will record the Flagship Show. I know it normal releases on Thursday, but I decided to hold off and record it later tonight and have that be released on a Friday for a change, Chris McDaniels America should record on Sunday, so we've got that coming up this Sunday
