Today is June nineteenth, or as is known in some communities, June teenth, or now it's not just known as June teenth in some communities, now it is the juneteenth National Independence Day. And I'm sorry, but we already have an Independence Day that's July fourth. I think that's where people are having issues with this new holiday of June teenth. It's not the fact that there is an additional federal holiday. It's not the fact that this holiday has been
added to the calendar. Again, the black community has been celebrating it for years. Maybe not as widespread in other parts of the country, but I know in Texas, I believe it was first recognized in nineteen eighty, so it's been something that some states have had this part of their agenda for a
long time. But it begs the question, why why are we creating this and giving it the moniker of Independence Day when we already have an Independence day, an Independence Day that is going to happen in just a couple of more weeks. Again, this was all about politics. That's the only reason why this gained federal status. And before you start to say, well, that's
just Joe Biden trying to buy votes, and it is. Let's not misunderstand that he was by helping push this and getting Congress to push it through. But let's not forget that Donald Trump made the promise to make this happen if he had been re elected. Anyway, it was all. It's all. It still is a pandering game that is silly and its face, it's something that we shouldn't have done in the first place. I don't understand why we
had to create one this close to the fourth of July. I understand the significance of the day, and I understand and it was something that the black community was celebrating. The African American community, it was theirs. Now you make it a federal holiday. The liberals who loved to scream, you know, racial appropriations is going to a cultural appropriation. I think it's the term
that they utilized there. Now they're going to be the ones doing that themselves, because I guarantee you that white liberals everywhere are going to be celebrating Juneteenth celebration. They're going to have their own little June tea in celebration. So it's no longer the special little holiday just for the African American community. I'm
not sure that's what they wanted. I'm not sure that they wanted Juneteenth to be something where some white guys running around holding up Juneteenth signs or having a Juneteenth party or whatever it is crazy liberal white guilty people are going to be doing on this day. It was a political pandering game. That's all it ever was. That's all it was ever intended to be. And it's frustrating because again, people should see through this type of stuff. I don't know
that they do. I don't know that they see through the nonsense that their politicians put forth for them. I have no problem with the junie teenth holiday. I have no problem with those that want to celebrate it. I just am questioning why we decided to turn it into a federal holiday, because again,
those holidays are supposed to be significant for all. This seemed to me like it was a very special celebration for the African American community, and now it has been culturally appropriated by liberal white people because they wanted you to vote for them. I'm sure when it comes to the election time, you'll remember they're the ones who got you a day off work. If your employer recognizes
this, because not all employers are going to recognize every federal holiday. Basically, all it's done is may ensure the post office will be closed, the banks'll be closed, which means if I need to go to the bank or I need to go to the post office, now I'm inconvenienced. I'm gonna have to go to work that day. I don't work for the federal government, so I'll still be working the same way I would have been before they
did this political pandering. I also question how many people actually knew what June teenth was before they started trying to prop this up as this major relevant holiday that we need the federal government to recognize. I'm not sure many people did. I'm not sure that there are that many folks out there that knew what this date was, or its significance or anything to the such. The fact that it originated in Texas is because it's signified when the enforcement of the Emancipation
Proclamation came to be in the state of Texas. It's not even something that should be recognized throughout the country because it doesn't hold a significance to the entire country. But when Texas wanted to celebrate it and honor it because it happened in Texas. That kind of makes sense, but on a national level it doesn't because that day doesn't mean anything in other parts of the country. But I guess it does now because again, we live in a time of revisionist
history. So now we'll rewrite it. Turned this into a massive holiday that it never was. And the fact that it's so close to the fourth of July, and the fact that they're giving it the same name as the fourth of July Independence Day, that leads to resentment from those who truly value the real Independence Day on the fourth of July. It leads people to question, are they going to try to replace our holiday with a new Independence day?
Will that happen again? If you had asked me that question fifteen twenty years ago, what would have told you absolutely not, There's no way in hell they'd ever try to touch Independence Day. But now I'm not so sure, because we see them tearing down statues, we see them doing countless ridiculous things to historical figures, to history itself. That I question, will one day this be the only Independence day and the independence day that we have always celebrated,
we'll go away? I hope not. But nowadays I can't rule anything out because we are in fact living in the dumbest timeline. This has been morning coffee with the Right Side. I'm your host, Jack Fairchild's and we're a part of the Midnight Ride Network.
