This weekend is going to be brutal for several areas in the United States. Icemageddon twenty twenty six is coming. Snowmageddon, depending on how much further north you are, is coming right now. The most current models are showing that it's probably not going to affect my area. We're gonna get cold rain, you know, which is much much better than ice,
without a doubt. The the ice storm. I lived in Vicksburg during the the last major ice storm that came through through Mississippi, and I remember vividly, you know, the power loss, my father being able to rig a generator to make sure that we could at least power the front end of the house and have some heat. It was. It was not fun. It here's the thing about ice, It's not snow. Snow can be fun. It's prey to look at go outside and build a snowman. You can't
go outside and build an iceman. It's just not gonna happen. So again, we're watching these models, and the most recent model has it trending further north. So a lot of the areas in Mississippi that were originally projected to receive a lot of ice right now or being said, they're not. By the time you listen to this. That could change again. That's the thing about the weather guessers. We never know for sure, and sometimes when they tell us something, the
exact opposite is what we get. So we're sitting back right now watching these weather guessers try to predict the models, and we're hoping that we're spared. I'm not one to look forward to ice mcgeddon. Now, one thing I know we're not going to be spared is frigid weather, because we're going to be getting very very cold weather, especially in the first part of the week, and then next weekend there is potential for snow or ice. Mcgeddon two.
Electric bugaloo. Nobody's looking forward to that. I'm my thoughts here, and you know, again with all this weather predictions and things of course, if you go into a grocery store right now, don't go in there looking for bread, don't go in there looking for water, don't go in there looking for milk, because people have already gone into their survival mode and have bought up all of it. So if you didn't already prepare, you're probably going to be
left without. These ice storms, they wreak havoc on trees, they wreak havoc on power lines. So I'm hoping that most of the people in our area are spared from the ice. I'm hoping the storm is mostly snow and not what they're predicting, but a fear, and you're going to start seeing in areas of Texas will know how bad this storm is to day because it's going to start hitting and people are going to see exactly what this storm is bringing. Imagedd in twenty twenty six, Part one,
Sticking around for the sequel next weekend. Who knows where the model will go. Maybe it's just going to be brutal cold. Maybe there's no participant, no weather outside of the cold, no snow, no ice. Who knows. I said this the other day to a friend. If it's going to be this cold, then I just assume go ahead and get snow, because at least then I got something cool to look at. Instead of just being better cold, those of us here in the deeper South, we're just
not built for ridiculously cold weather. Plus, here's the thing that some folks in other areas the country that don't have to deal with humidity. This is what they don't understand. Humidity is still there when it's cold. One of the things that I learned was I went to Colorado years ago and I don't think the temperature ever got above twelve degrees, but it didn't feel as cold as thirty five degrees here, and it was because of the humidity.
Because our cold is a wet cold. It's again, unless you experience it, you don't quite understand it, whereas their cold was dry. I ended up taking layers off that I would have had home back home in Mississippi with a warmer but still ridiculously cold temperature in Mississippi. So again, yeah, when we get to that low it feels colder because of that humidity force, and it's just it's a miserable experience. So the next two weekends, we're probably going to do
our best to stay indoors as much as possible. When we don't have to get out to go to work, we're probably not leaving the house. If you've got pets and animals and they're outdoor animals, bring them in this weekend, Bring them in next weekend. It's too cold for them to be outside. It's going to be ridiculously cold. Get them indoors and take care of them. It doesn't matter if they act like they prefer to be outside, get them in. They need to be inside. They need to
be taken care of. You have that obligation as a pet parent to get them indoors. Depending on what happens with the weather, of course, could this affect the Right Side radio show next week? I don't know. I don't know what to expect next week. Could we betake potentially have power issues and service interruptions that could prevent us from recording the Right Side. We'll just have to see
how that goes. Just watch our Facebook page for updates on potential delays or reasons to not record next week. But the plan is because if you look at the models, we should be okay. We should be okay, but again, until the storm has finished moving you always are on edge, and you're always at that gosh darn grocery store buying up all the bread that I need to fix my lunch. But it is what it is, people. I just hope everybody stays safe, stays warm this weekend because it's gonna
be interesting. But it looks like our area might be a little bit better served than some of our friends up north. Just to understand our thoughts and prayer with you, and hopefully it's not as bad of an ice blast and more snow than what they're predicting.
