This is the final cup of coffee for twenty twenty five. As I've announced, we're taking morning coffee off until the first week of the new year. So we're gonna have a little bit of hiatus here. And that's uh. Like I said, that's important for me to be able to recharge and take a little bit of a break. But at the same time, I know that you, my listeners, will miss these eight minute soundbites, but they're coming back. They're not going away for good. It's just the Christmas season.

It's time to sit down and enjoy time with family, time time away from work, if you're fortunate enough to have that again. There are various things that we celebrate on Christmas, but most importantly, and the one thing that we can never forget is that we're doing all of this to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have to take that time to remember this because he sacrificed so much for us, the ultimate sacrifice. And yes, we should be honoring Christ every day, but

Christmas is his holiday. It is the time of year that we should be focused on his birth and even focusing on what his salvation means to us. This weekend, I'll be a part of an annual tradition. It's a Merry Christmas Turkey giveaway that was started by Chris McDaniel and the very first Merry Christmas Turkey giveaway. I was on the radio live during and it was an exciting event.

We had no clue what we were doing. I was not there for much of it because, like I said, I had to go do a lot broadcast and have Chris call in to talk to me about it. But one of the biggest things that I remember from that first year is the fact that we the traffic on the interstate close to the church got stopped because we

didn't know how to manage the traffic line. See for those of you who don't know about this event, we line everybody up in cars, we limit everyone to one turkey per car, and because we limit everyone to one turkey per car, we are we have to make them line up in a way that we're not necessarily blocking any traffic. For years, we had perfected it to where

we were running them through a neighborhood. In recent years we have started to utilize the parking lot across the street from the church, and it just has felt like it's been more efficient the last several years, and it's really been an outible event. I've talked about it before that this event is something that even helps me in years where I'm not necessarily feeling the Christmas cheer, it helps me find that Christmas spirit. So it's something I

look forward to every year. And it's, of course the brain trial child of Chris McDaniel, because he had sat back and watched the War on Christmas, the fight from the left to try to remove Christ from Christmas, and because of that, he made the rules as simple as possible. You show up in a car, pull up to where we're handing out the turkeys, say Marry Christmas, and you get sough turkey. It's really and truly one of those special events that goodness, I can't I can't even really

go on to it. I mean we've we used to have the church choir come out and sing during the event.

UH.

Speaker 3

In recent years that has they have not done that, but we typically have a nice speaker out there and are playing Christmas carols during the uh during the the procession of the line, which is one of the things that I enjoy is, you know, finding a Christmas playlist and just letting it play. And it's a uh, it's

an honor to be a part of that event. And you know, this year with things that uh, Chris I'm sure was struggling, you know, with everything going on with his mom and different things, but he never once said let's not do it. He never once waffled to think that we shouldn't do it. And we're hoping that Chris is able to be there. This is the twentieth year that we've done it. The last couple of years he's had to be away on work, so it's really important

if we can have him there. But if we can't, that's okay too, because he's still responsible for this event. And his son Cambridge will be there who I watched as well, will his youngest son Chamberlain. But today I watched Cambridge do the news interview about the Turkey giveaway, an interview that I myself have done several times. But it's really cool to hand that torch off in the next generation and watch Cambridge step up and given an interview on television like a pro and super proud of

that young man. So it's going to be an awesome of event. I know for my national listeners there's no chance you're going to be there. But if you're in the area and you hear this particular podcast and you don't need a turkey, but you want to be a part of it, show up around eight am nine am Saturday morning and I will gladly help find you a role where you can assist us, because we always need extra help. We never turn volunteers away. So if you want to help, come on and be a part of it.

It's a special, special event and I'm really excited for what this year's Turkey Giveaway will hold for us. This will be, as I said the last morning Coffee of twenty twenty five, when we come back, we will get back into the politics and maybe talk a little bit more on that. I'm still hoping this weekend to be able to put together a Christmas episode to release sometime next week. But it just really depends on time. If I have the time to record bits and get stuff

put together, then I absolutely will do it. But it really just comes down to how much time am I going to have. But that's the plan I'm hoping to Possibly I'll have a show a show out New Year's Week, but I may go ahead and take that entire week off and just come back fresh when I restart the Morning Coffees. So we'll watch our Facebook page and we'll announce what's happening there so that way our listeners can

know when to expect new content. Anyway, I'm your host, Jack Fairchild's and you've been listening to Morning Coffee with the Right Side and we're a part of the Midnight Ride Network. This show has been brought to you by Pearl River Casino and Resort. We'll see you guys again real soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
