Episode description

'True' Love, 'Pure' Relationships, 'Mr/Mrs Right', all these terms reinforce the myth of perfection. That is, we have found our true love therefore we have the 'perfect relationship'. Well, Stephen thinks not. In this podcast he points out that perfection is impossible, especially in men and women. And if we are not perfect ourselves, just where is that perfect relationship going to come from? Stephen explains that relationships work best when they are lived in the real world, not the mythical one. We have a much better chance of making a relationship last if we are able to recognise and accept its imperfections, and our own. We don't have to be perfect to be in a good love relationship, what we do have to do is live with imperfection and not let it tear our relationship apart.
