Today I want to dive into what where i'm getting back into a lot of this stuff Is a book i'm reading you need to be reading 15 minutes a day listen to audiobooks, whatever it is 15 20 minutes a day. That's all you need to get started and i've been Diving back into Jim Kwik's book, Limitless, and really this is something that is just helping me really think. Differently again, I've already read the book multiple times, but it's it talks about like mindset.

That's all you need to get started and i've been Diving back into Jim Kwik's book, Limitless, and really this is something that is just helping me really think. Differently again, I've already read the book multiple times, but it's it talks about like mindset.
One of the biggest things is. The limited mind limitless mindset he talks about, and it's really the growth oriented mindset, not the, you know, there's, you can get in a fixed mindset where you're thinking everything is this one way, instead of thinking that maybe there's a lot of different ways to do things to really expand your mind.
And when you're in a positive and growth mindset, Things start to happen. Things start to change. You start to see things happening in your life and in your career. And, and really he says in there, like he argues that self limiting beliefs can significantly hinder one's ability to learn and succeed.
And that's so true. A lot of us are always. Talking, you know, self talk, really bad self talk to ourselves. And it's really hard to get out of that. If you've been doing that for years and been around people for years that have been doing that to you it's, it's something that takes time to get out. Can you get out for sure?
But you have to be conscientious about it and really think about the words that you're saying to yourself. Cause this really affects your subconscious mind and that there can really hold you back to what you want to do and accomplish because you want to be in a growth mindset. You can't be putting yourself down.

Cause this really affects your subconscious mind and that there can really hold you back to what you want to do and accomplish because you want to be in a growth mindset. You can't be putting yourself down.
I've seen this time and time again as I continue to learn. About other people listen to the words that they say. It really is starting to help me understand myself, honestly. He talks about motivation and how to deep dive in it. It's it's self motivation as well. What, what, what do you do that?
Helps push you along the way because a lot of the stuff that there's so much going on in the world today like it just Everything's trying to pull your attention and what I've been noticing I've been watching and they did this good in movies years and years ago, but I've been watching movies and these things that Like really popular movies, how many seconds and I was counting it.
And I, cause I never really noticed this before, like how, how quick a screen changes or from a shot to a shot, to a shot, to a shot, and as that film changed and I was counting, it was like three to four seconds. And it will go to another, another image or change camera angles and check this out on movies you're watching, popular movies you start to watch, you won't see them stay staying in the same camera shot for five, six, seven minutes.

It's actually seconds that they're changing it. And this is why our brains are attracted to a lot of different movies. And I never really thought maybe you knew this. I didn't really know this. Pick up on this until, until I started learning and diving into it a little bit more, but getting into that self motivation is really going to work on yourself.
Like this morning was, I'm trying to work on more of meditation. So I was doing my exercise today and then I stopped and I did a 15 minute meditation before, for this call. Cause I want to get back into it more breathing, exercising, and listening to, this was a, Deepak Chopra, I think that's how you say his last name.

Cause I want to get back into it more breathing, exercising, and listening to, this was a, Deepak Chopra, I think that's how you say his last name.
So he is a, he's a guru in meditation. So I just ripped up a podcast. You got a 21 day meditation. It's not a retreat, but a meditation 21 day challenge, kind of like this. And today was day one and it, it was talking about really how to release a lot of your thoughts and just sit there without.
You know, just sit there and focus on not Thinking about a thousand things. Cause that's, what's happening when it's you're driving to a work site, you're sitting in your office and you're thinking about a thousand different things, there's so many things, it's like, how do you just focus? And this is one of the things Jim quick talks about a lot about focusing in the book, but it's hard to focus when there's all these things coming at you.
So I sat there and even when I started to lose. My, my thought or my, you know, my relaxation then I, during that meditation, it brings you back. And you know, this stuff is hard and it's, if you've never done it before, it feels weird. So I sat there and even when I started to lose. My, my thought or my, you know, my relaxation then I, during that meditation, it brings you back. And you know, this stuff is hard and it's, if you've never done it before, it feels weird.
It's different. And you're like, why am I doing this? And I've done it over the years, many, many times. So I get an understanding, but if you've never done it before, it's going to feel weird. And. If you keep at it though,
it's only 15 minutes of time. So you can get up 15 minutes earlier in your day and just do it. And I think that there, when you can get yourself focused. you can actually self motivate yourself to get things done because there's not so many things pulling at you. And like over the years, like I have definitely shiny object syndrome.
I know, but I know how to focus on, okay, well, this is taking me off track now. I'm starting to realize that and recognizing this stuff. So if you start to notice that, like if you're focused and doing something and you get a text or a phone call or, or Instagram pops up, you really got to learn how to block that out.

So if you start to notice that, like if you're focused and doing something and you get a text or a phone call or, or Instagram pops up, you really got to learn how to block that out.
And focus on what you're doing. And this will help you on your way to motivating yourself to, to get along there, because this is hard, that stuff, self motivation is really hard. It's easier for you to probably to help motivate someone else. And keep someone else accountable than yourself. But when you can do it for yourself, man, things definitely change.
What else he talks about in this, this book is different learning strategy methods, and this is really why it got me back into the book because. He, there's so many things that he talks about, about brain health, which I brought, brought up yesterday. He talks about motivation, which I just kind of met mentioned, but talks about reading skills, how to read a bit faster, eating healthier, physical exercise, things that I talk about all the time.
But these are the things that you need to implement and you need to hear this stuff all the time. It's not like you just hear it once and you can use it. I've heard it hundreds of times now. All these, from all these different gurus and self help people, but it's just, it takes that one time from that one paragraph you read or that one sentence you listen to on a podcast or an audio book.

That's the things start to click. And so when you can really have effective learning strategy methods, this here is where it's going to help you learn things faster. And you're going to remember things faster and having different study techniques, which she talks about, because if you keep doing the same thing, you're going to get the same results.
If you start to do different things, you're going to get different results. And this is, this is where really that positive mindset comes in, because I've said it hundreds of times. If you tell yourself you're bad at something, you're not going to get any better at it. That's a fix in a negative mindset. That is you yourself talk, telling you you're no good at it. I'm no good at reading. I hear it all the time. So I used to say it, but now I recognize that when someone says it, another one would be like, Oh, I'm just a refrigeration technician.

Oh, I'm just a designer. Oh, I'm just this. And I even catch myself sometimes saying, saying that or caught myself saying that stuff. So I call people out when they say that stuff. You're just a refrigeration technician. What do you mean by that? You save people's lives? I just save people's lives? Think about that.
The words that you use will be, will go to your subconscious mind. You might not think of it and notice it. Oh, this doesn't really mean anything. But if you think about what you said, just what does that mean to you? Is it important to you or is it not important to you? He really focused on memory improvement.
That's a big one. A lot of, a lot of times I've even said, Oh, I have a hard time remember something I read or listen to. But if you practice on memorizing things and not memorizing, but remembering things, correlating things, he does a good practice in his book. And he puts like 10 words out and 10 different words.

But if you practice on memorizing things and not memorizing, but remembering things, correlating things, he does a good practice in his book. And he puts like 10 words out and 10 different words.
And he's like, okay, try to remember all 10 words. And then the next page it says, write down the 10 words and then you get like five or six, right? But then he shows you a strategy on how to remember all those words. And it's kind of like a story. So you think of it and you read all the words and like a story thing, and then you try it again and then you remember it all and then even later that day, if you think about that story that you said with those different words, you can remember all those words.
It's pretty cool. It takes practice though. This is that muscle memory for your brain. So you're working it out. So this is why I'm getting back into these books is just to get me back on track because I've done it before. This book actually helped me read faster and it's a four hour work week by Tim Fares and Jim Quick. And there's many other ones I looked up at our videos, but it's the same thing. If you want to learn how to read faster, You use your finger or use something to go along the words and you go faster than you normally do and you time yourself and you practice it and you read read it and then you'll read it over again and over again if you have to and but then you'll start reading faster and then you can start reading in in blocks.

And you'll have to look it up, go on on YouTube and look it up if you wanna read faster. And then still me remember the stuff. Yeah, there's lots of things in, in that book that I'm still, still extracting like procrastination, overcoming it.
It's really, it's really like a lot of the things that I've talked about, you know, setting those goals, building those habits, diving into how to be more accountable for your, for yourself and just doing it. I think that's the biggest thing. When you, when you tell yourself you're going to do something, just do it.
It's really, it's really like a lot of the things that I've talked about, you know, setting those goals, building those habits, diving into how to be more accountable for your, for yourself and just doing it. I think that's the biggest thing. When you, when you tell yourself you're going to do something, just do it.
You know, you're, you're trying to go to the gym and your alarm goes off instead of just hitting the snooze button, go back to sleep, just get up and do it. It's just you overcoming yourself to be able to do it. So when that alarm goes off, you just get up and go and then just say, if you do hit the snooze button, take the alarm, put it across the room. So you have to literally get up and turn that, that alarm off, have your gym clothes ready, have your shoes ready.
So when you get up, you put your feet down off the side of the bed, you put your socks on and put your feet right in your shoes. Like make it easy for yourself. You can do this the night before. This is what I do. Like I set up before I come up to the morning coffees, I have all my coffee set up the night before I get it all prepared, have my clothes all ready for my gym clothes.
And then my clothes to get ready for the work day and I prepare myself. So it's super easy when I get up like I have it all planned out already. And I do it all the night before, because if you get up. And you don't know where your shoes are for the gym. You don't know where your gym clothes are.
And then my clothes to get ready for the work day and I prepare myself. So it's super easy when I get up like I have it all planned out already. And I do it all the night before, because if you get up. And you don't know where your shoes are for the gym. You don't know where your gym clothes are.
You don't know where your water bottle is. You don't know where your keys are. You're just going to frustrate yourself and you're just going to be like spend 25 minutes trying to get out the door. The biggest step is to get out the door, unless you have a gym at your house or you have exercise equipment at your house, but make it easy to get out that door.
So literally you get up and you should be at out that door within 10 minutes. Cause you know, you're going to wash your face or use the washroom or whatever like that. But my goal is like 10 to be out of the house and on, on my way to the gym. So you'll have your own strategy, but make it easy for yourself.
And when you start making this stuff easy for yourself, you'll start to do it more. It's easy to go sit on down on the couch and turn on the TV. That's easy. That's why it's done. Everyone does it. It's super easy. So make the things you want to do easy for yourself learning. You want to be better at refrigeration, make it easier for yourself, have different refrigeration books out on your table, out on the counter, beside your bed, on your phone, or highlighted bookmarks on your phone, and this will help you grow your knowledge.

And grow yourself make it like I said make it easy for yourself and easier make it for yourself The more you're gonna be able to do it and what and that's whatever you want It has nothing to do if it's refrigeration or not If you make the stuff easy for yourself, you're gonna do more It's like making your lunch Like if you get up in the morning and you wake up five minutes before you have to be in your vehicle and off to work You're not gonna make your lunch But if you make it the night before and your plan will prepare or on sunday Whatever your work week is, if you do it on Sunday, and then you make all your snacks.
So you get all your nuts, and all your fruits, and all your things prepared in little in little Tupperware dishes, or whatever you use. And have that all the time. Here's Monday, here's Tuesday, here's Wednesday, here's Thursday, here's Friday, here's Saturday. You have it all done out.

And this is how you're going to be really successful. And another guy's Ed Mylett, he talks about the power of one more in his book.
And it's just like, you're at the gym or you're doing exercise and you do 10 reps. So do one more, do 11 reps. So that's the power of one more. That's what he, that's the easiest way to explain it. So if you're working on a project or you're trying to learn say a controller, whatever controller it is, E2, micro thermal corral.
So you read five pages. We'll read one more section. Are you reading a book you're reading 15 minutes of a book a night read one more minute So do 16 minutes and that's what he he talks about the power of one more, but it's really just doing it And for sure you can . And I think it's the biggest thing if you want to start doing more is really spending time on self development, your education. You want to get better? It's, it's investing in yourself. You've got to invest in yourself more. And I don't think enough people invest in themselves.

When I asked them, like how many hours of training, education, development, self development you've done in the last year? A lot of people are like an hour, a couple hours. They don't even know and I'm, I know for sure it's more than a couple hours because you don't know sometimes of the Development that you're doing but you actually have to spend time doing this hours a week because the weeks are going to keep going You know, that's the thing the weeks are going to just keep going and either you you do it You don't it doesn't matter to anybody But yourself, you know, it should matter to you if you want to get this stuff done, if you want to be able to read faster, if you want to remember more, if you want to be better at the things you want to be at.
Be better at that's you putting in the work and it doesn't matter about, you can have accountability partners, you can have all this stuff, but at the end of the day, is it you got to want to do it and that's, that's the big thing. I really think check that book out. And it will, it will definitely help.
