Rethinking Your Sales Strategy

Okay, we need to talk about your sales strategy. And when I say sales strategy, I'm saying strategy very lightly. Because right now, for a lot of you guys listening, your strategy looks like overthinking, tweaking stuff every other day and basically making the whole thing way harder than it needs to be. And I totally get it because I used to do the same thing. You think that if you just do more, if you show up more, if you post, if you just say the right thing, somebody is going to buy from you.

But I want you to ask yourself this question. How do you actually want people to buy from you? Because really, if you're honest about it, what I see happening all the time is that people are creating this business model based off of pressure, fear, and a full calendar of things that they actually don't want to do.

Like if you're going to be on calls for eight hours a day and you're in your DMs pretending to build connection but secretly resenting the entire thing because you're already working eight hours a day and you have no idea how you're supposed to fit in another 10 hours of coaching clients. Plus the in between DMS and the follow ups and the check ins and all of the other things, right? Like, if I don't want to sit on 20 sales calls a week, guess what? That's not going to be inside of my process.

If I don't want to cold DM or comment on 800 posts, press train. Somebody hits my link, I'm not going to do it. And I'm not going to pay somebody to do it either, because it's not a scalable system. It's not fun either because it doesn't make sense to build a business that requires me to do things that I don't even want to do at the level I'm at now, let alone when I double or triple this, right?

Creating a Client Attraction System

So if I was making less than $10,000 a month, the only thing that I would be doing is, is I would be getting very, very honest about how I actually wanted people to buy from me. I would ask myself, do I want them to binge my podcast and then buy all of my programs? Do I want them to read a post and say, oh my God, I need this? Click a link and buy? Do I want my stories to do the selling for me on Instagram and that's how I get all of my buyers?

Do I want my email marketing to handle it and I generate all of my revenue through there? Cool. That's the system that's what you need, that's the whole thing. Not some 37 step thing with seven automations and a lead magnet from 2014, right? Like it's simple, it's intentional, it's scalable.

So I want you to use this as a wake up call right now because your sales strategy isn't working because you built it around survival, you built your business around what you thought seen other people do and then you called it your own, right? You decided that all these other people are running businesses, they're doing it like this, it looks like they have that.

And so you're taking little pieces of the puzzle from all these other people's puzzles and then it's not even a business that you're building.

That's like the thing you really want to be doing or what your gift actually is because you dimmed your light and you told yourself that you didn't actually know how to make it work when in reality you didn't trust your instincts at enough to just plow through the noise that everybody else was saying and shoving down your throat because they weren't moving through their own fear, right?

So you have to unlearn all of those things that people told you on your journey up to this point and now that's why I say it's like a wake up call, right? Because what you've seen other people do and be around this hustle, energy, being around fear, being around stress, being around anxiety. Now it's like this thing that you don't even like and you don't want to be around it. And so your business feels heavy, it feels stressful, it's not in alignment with what you really want, right?

So I want you to sit with like three questions today. I want you to ask yourself like, what is the simplest way that I could bring in a new client today that I would actually enjoy, right? Like can we hold for like amen and thank you. Like honestly the simplest way that you could get a client, what would you do? What would be the easiest no brainer thing that could happen?

Do you just create and put more time and energy into doing exceptional content so that your content dictates your income so that when you post you know that it's completely normal that you meet two to three sales per post, that you know those are either low ticket or high ticket, high ticket buyers, that if you put out a high ticket thing, like a high ticket post, if you put out an offer for a week that you get two or three new coaching clients, right?

What is the simplest way that you could do that? Is it just that you automatically believe that your content does dictate your income and that if you put out the right words on that post, people will buy from you? Okay, the second thing that I would think about if. Is if somebody was ready to buy from you right now, is your process frictionless and obvious, or do you have to be present? If somebody wanted to buy from you right now, could they? Right.

So one of the reasons buying your revenue might not be where it is is because you have to be present in order to receive, right? And so I would definitely second guess your business model at that point, or only, like, super high level. Like you're charging 100k a client and, you know, working with three or four clients, and then you have $500,000 monthly coming in, right? That's the easiest way to make $500,000.

So I think the third thing I would ask myself is probably like, is my current sales system something that I could scale, or does it fall apart if five more people say yes this week? Does your system fall apart because you have new clients? Like, are you so stressed out about everything else happening inside of your world, in your business and your life that you're like, I don't know that I could hold all of this plus that, right?

I feel like people will talk about, like, I don't know how I could possibly have a child or two children when I'm already this busy. And I feel like this is that same mindset, right? Like, how could I ever have more clients when I'm already so busy?

Creating Capacity for Growth

And you have to increase your capacity and you have to create a new reality for yourself that doesn't limit you, but expands you into something bigger, right? So every. Every problem that you face is a call to rise, right? Every problem that you face isn't a moment to sit there and second guess how great you are, right? Like a setback, a problem. Anything that comes up.

If your sales are slow, for example, that's just something that saying, like, oh, I'm not operating at the speed that I should be, otherwise sales would be flowing because I would be in full alignment with what I want to receive. So where am I dropping the ball, right? Like, what part of your sales system is like, oh, my God, this is driving me insane, right?

Like, if you have one of those moments, if you're like, oh, my God, I want to make $30,000, but I don't want to, you know, exchange my time for money, I don't want to coach, then you're Blocking high ticket sales, right? So you, you have to like, just, you have to be detached from the how a little bit in a way, right? Like, you have to understand, like if this is what you want, you have to be open to the way that that's allowed to flow into your world, right?

So for ex, a million dollar month was what you were working towards. Well, you would have to be open to how that million was going to come in. And the best piece of advice is like, operate your entire week like you are going to make a million dollars. Just like assume the goodness is on its way, that you're getting that delivered to you. Right? But also if I'm getting it delivered, like what are all of the possible ways that it could be delivered? Right?

Like if you needed that million dollars, could it possibly come to you in a different way? Or like are you open to the experience? Are you allowing your system to respond and to see opportunities? Or are you operating in a place of fear and I don't know what to do or how do I make this work? Or I don't want to do that, or this would suck or I don't, I don't want to do this because of that, right? Like, are you pausing yourself instead of taking the action to rearrange things?

And if the answer is like, no, like cool, that's your work, right? You're over here refreshing your Shopify, your stripe, whatever software you're using, you're checking your DMs, you're wondering why it's not working. But you haven't made it easy for people to buy from you. You haven't designed the experience yet, you're still winging it.

And so you're just sitting there like hoping some post is going to go viral instead of setting up a process that is actually going to reflect, reflect how you want to live and lead, right? Because your business is yours.

Empowering Your Business Journey

And you did not create it to be like a slave or a victim to your business. You created it to empower you and to give you the freedom and the life that you wanted. And so if you were truly going to give yourself the life that you wanted, what does that look like? Right? Those are the things that you have to think about and stop trying to align yourself with somebody else's business, but align yourself with what do I really want? And if you don't want to do sales calls, don't do sales calls.

If you want someone to binge your content and click a link and pay in full and build a brand in a back end that Makes it really obvious and easy for people to do that. I would position my content that says people are always binging my content, clicking on the link and paying me in full. I get six figure pay in full clients who I've never done any sales calls with. And this is exactly how I do it, right? So I think this is the kind of mindset that you want to embed into.

And it's not like you're not spending more time tweaking your link in the bio than you are like mapping out your client journey, right? Because if you have no idea what it looks like when you're working with 10 or 12 people, if you're still unaware after running your business for six months, three months, nine months, 12 months, a year and a half, two years. Three years, right? Like, I have seen some crazy things where people have been in business for two, three years.

They have 5,000, 7,000, almost 10,000 followers and they have absolutely no idea how to make money. They've never worked with a client. Like, they've been posting every single day and they're not getting the outcome. I've seen large creators posting about needing a job because they don't have consistent income. Meanwhile, they have like, you know, over 500 engagements per post. So where's your focus, right?

Like, are you overthinking your way to consistent sales or are you deciding how you want people to buy from you and building around that? Because people just need to be told this is a system, right? Like, here's what happens if I'm like, go listen to my podcast and you decide that whatever I put in my post that day resonates and then you click over to my podcast and then you hear my podcast and I'm like, oh, you should click this link and then you should go buy this and you should take do that.

Well, I'm priming you every single day. I'm pre framing your reality. I'm planting seeds. I'm not overthinking it. I'm just being real, raw and honest about it. And I'm creating my content because I genuinely care about people. And like, this is just who I am and what I do. I don't know how to be anything else other than this business.

And all of these things are just inside of me, you know, So I think it's just about building it in a way that isn't looking outside of you, but always operating from within. And I, I would say like the I post and I hope strategy will turn into people DM me asking me for the Link or telling me that they already bought. When you create a sales experience, people trust because you trust it, because everything is a mirror.

And if you don't trust your process to bring you sales because you don't like your process, then you have to change your process. If I was making under 10k months, I would not be wasting my time in the DMs all day and I would not be sitting on phone calls or zoom meetings back to back all day. I would be asking how do I want people to buy from me and how do I make that simple, obvious and repeatable?

Every day that you keep doing what you think works instead of designing what's going to actually work for you and your life long term, you delay your next level, you delay the universe. You stay rooted in Groundhog Day, living the same life through old data, right? You have to feed yourself the new data if you want things to continue moving for you. So you're probably thinking, but what if I remove that and nobody buys, right? Like what if I change this and no one buys?

And I think that is the exact mindset and the exact reason why you're still stuck because you don't trust yourself and you don't trust your process yet. If you want sales to feel like fun and if you want clients coming in super easy and like it's a no brainer, if you want that, I can scale this to 100k months, type of back end inside of your business and you need to shift the way that you're selling.

But the thing I'm trying to say is basically that like I had a decision in those moments whether I decided that what those people were saying and the limitations that they were speaking on me, like I was hanging out with the wrong people and I was just coming through the darkness of it and like starting at ground zero. So I had to go through that entire journey to kind of see through the other side of it.
