¶ Understanding Productivity: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs
Okay, I want to talk about productivity and being more disciplined today. And I want to start off with why we're not productive in the first place. And that's usually because we have a limiting belief or some kind of negative thought that is surrounding the action, right? So we don't feel like doing it. But if you want to make 30k, 50k, 100k monthly, right? Then you need to figure out how to move even when you don't want to.
Self leadership is moving with the tools that you need individually to become everything that you were made to be. It's moving your body, it's eating right, it's giving yourself so much self love and devotion that you are honoring your dreams and you are valuing yourself and caring about yourself enough to reach new places, to become something new. And let me just say, my loves, you can become something new in each moment, every moment and every single day, right?
And I think the number one thing that made me more productive was embodying a mindset of 1 Corinthians 16, 14, and that is to do all things with love. Because when I operate in God's frequency and when I decide that I am going to show up and I'm going to be all that I can be inside of a moment because I'm here to serve the one above all others, I get more done and I do it with so much more energy and fuel and power and the outcomes are better.
So if you are finding it hard to get your to do list done today, I want you to just take a second and breathe and allow yourself to operate from a place of love when you move. The second thing that makes me more productive is physical activity. And no, I don't mean doing like more complicated workouts or making it this, you know, dreadful routine. It may, it means making it easy, making it fun, making it upbeat, making it something that you could enjoy and look forward to, right?
It's not doing a workout that you hate, it's enjoying what you love. Whether that's a dance party workout video that you, you know, move along with a yoga morning routine, maybe it's walking outside, like whatever feels good to you, just move your body more, right? Like try and get those 10k steps in there. Because I can honestly say like when I work out, like for me I love working in like three or four hour cycles and then doing 20 to 40 minute like cardio or active recovery breaks, right?
So it's like a quick workout. Maybe it's a dog walk. Like the more I remove myself from my computer And I come back to it. I'm just 10 times more productive because I gave myself the opportunity to have a mini recharge, right? So you can have this.
¶ Embracing Active Recovery for Productivity
And I call it active recovery. You can think about like how much your brain activity shifts, right? You can see I see those posts all the time. Maybe you don't, maybe you won't see them. And I'm the only one getting these. But those posts where you see like the one brain after like 10 minutes of working out and it's completely lit up and it's red and then you have the other brain after like 10 minutes of sitting there and it's barely even active, right?
So if you think about like when your energy starts dipping throughout your day and then you're like, okay, let me just like remove myself from this. Let me go do a, you know, 20 minute walk outside. Let me go do this. And then you come back and you're fully recharged and you're ready. It's almost like you're starting on a whole new work day and you can get 10 times more done. So I feel like I have three work cycles.
There's one from 4am to 7am and then I have another cycle from around 9am until about 12, and then I have another cycle at around 3 or 4pm and then I do another set of movement around 7 or 8. So there's different cycles happening there. But even if it's just a 10 minute walk, right, like it does not have to be complicated. You could start with a two minute walk, right? Like if you're not doing anything and you're hearing me and you're like, you sound insane.
Well, this is me doing this routine after working from home for the last eight years, right? So I've had a lot of time to be able to make that routine possible for myself. I also have a home gym, so that also helps, right? So I have like, I have barbells here, I have free weights, I have a rowing machine, I have an exercise bike, I have cables, I have pull downs, I have, you know, just a lot of stuff inside of that room. And then I have a TV in there for YouTube workouts and different stuff.
So I'm fully equipped there. And then there's like a really nice trail near my house. And so we walk that all the time too. So there's just different things that are fun sometimes, you know, I like just turn on YouTube. I'm like, I don't want to think about anything. And it's just a fun little dance Party workout, right? And sometimes it's just like a walking cardio 15 minutes, right? Like it does not have to be this intense thing.
And when I'm not in the mood, I just do a 10 minute stretching video where I'm just loosening up, getting like I showed up for my body and the love and to just honor myself with that moment, right? So it doesn't have to be something that's super dramatic sometimes, right? Like some days it's just like I am not in the mood for this, but I'm going to show up because this is who I am and this is what I do regardless of how I feel in that moment, right?
¶ The Importance of Self-Leadership in Fitness and Business
And having powerful self leadership is being a person who can guide themselves and, and show up for yourself, right? Like powerful self leadership is not self abandonment. So you always do the thing that you actually want to do. And you know that if you want to be somebody with six pack popping abs, right? Then you have to be the person who shows up and does the work to receive that outcome. If you want your business to flourish, then you have to be the person who shows up and does the work.
And showing up and being the person who does the work in your business is going to go outside of your business, right? Because if you're not being who you need to be when it comes to your diet, when it comes to your fitness, when it comes to your relationship, that is going to leak over into your job, right? And your job is your business. So you have to take all of those things into consideration when you're trying to be more disciplined, right?
If you're unhappy and miserable about your body, you're not going to show up in your business the way that you want to be, right? So you really want to just be mindful and you know, just give yourself the love and the grace and the energy and the things that you desire, deserve and love yourself enough to do it, right? Do all things with love. So whether you're moving or not, just think of it as a gift and a blessing.
The next thing that I would do to be more productive is figure out why I was doing it. The real reason, right? Not to make money because you're making money, you're attached to the outcome. You're stuck in external validation and you're not operating in like your heart frequency or energy, right? You're moving and operating from I do not have and I'm in need, right? So you are not operating from a place of abundance when you come from there.
So I think really focusing in on finding that why is important, right? It could be that, you know, you. Maybe you just want to serve people. Maybe you want to make that impact. Maybe for you, it's like retiring your parents. Maybe you're doing this to build generational wealth and change your family's blueprint forever. Maybe you're doing this to take care of your kids. Maybe you're doing this because you feel called to and you just have this gift that you want to share.
And that gift brings you so much joy and love and happiness that that's just what. That's just showing up in. In that energy every day is the gift, right? Whatever that thing is for you, let that be your anchor. And when you are fighting for something other than your own selfish desires each day, I am telling you, you will be ready to move.
¶ Fueling Productivity: The Importance of Nutrition for Entrepreneurs
Another thing that makes me more productive is eating properly and cooking and making healthy food, nourishing my body, not doing. I know sometimes as an entrepreneur, you can get in the cycle in this mindset of like, oh, I'm too busy to cook, or it's easier for me to just order something, even if it's like a healthier option, like a pita or, you know, some kind of salad or, you know, just little things like that that you could get.
Like, you can make that at home and you can make way better foods. Right. So I understand not always in the mood, different things like that could happen. But if you eat like crap, you will feel like crap. And I always say, entrepreneurs are made in the kitchen because you have to fuel your productivity. Right? So I believe that giving myself food that is going to make my body function on level 100, not give me cranky sugar withdrawals or be hungover with alcohol. I don't really drink, but.
Right. Like, you need to be mindful of your actions. And you, you can be the best that you can be, but if you feel like crap and you can barely make it up the stairs, you are in trouble. Right? Like, when I'm thinking about what I'm putting on my plate in the day, I'm like, this salmon is going to help all of my joints, my ligaments. It's going to fuel my skin. It's going to give me a glow. It's going to help provide my brain with the omegas that I need.
It's going to fight any inflammation that I have. It's going to give my body a healthy source of protein.
¶ Mindful Eating and Discipline
I am getting really healthy fats right now, and that is going to be such a divine source of energy that is required for me to show up fully today. Right. I think God gave us all that we need. And my rule of thumb is always, when it comes to food, unless it had a pulse or came from the ground, do not eat it. The final thing that I would do if I wanted to be more disciplined, to build a life that I love, not a schedule that I hate. Right.
There is nothing worse than doing things that you don't actually want to be doing because they're a distraction because you think it's something that you should be doing that will give you a result that you're looking for for rather than doing what you actually want to be doing. Right.
So if it's not part of the real plan and the thing you really want to be doing, make sure that your business, your routine, are you focusing and are you pushing yourself to do the stuff that you don't really want to be doing? Do you need to hire people? Do you need to stop micromanaging your team and let them be free to create a blow your mind? Right. Like, let's have a really honest conversations with ourselves this week and see where we're dropping the ball and where we can pick it up. Okay?
So the other thing I want to talk about here is you can start, like, forcing things inside of your schedule. You can start saying, like, oh, I want to be more disciplined. And then you start time boxing. You start putting all these things in. And I'm a big fan of time boxing, and I do that daily. But I think that you can reach this point where you're doing things and pushing yourself to do things, and they're not in alignment, so it feels a lot heavier than it should.
So if you have a lot of heavy things inside of your day right now, if you have a lot of things that you're not looking forward to, I would honestly just give yourself, like, grace and space to drop them and only do what is like a full body. Yes. Only do the things that are, like, making you excited to wake up and complete that thing tomorrow. And I promise you, the more you moved in align action, the happier you will become and the more natural your discipline and all of that will be for you.
