Episode description

I used to build houses and I loved it. I loved pulling up to a job site early in the morning, strapping on my tool belt, driving nails and making sawdust. In this session we will make sure that we have the right tools for the job of building our relationships. Hold on cause you know? It happens in 5 minutes or less.

  1. Pro 24:3 NKJV - Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; 4  By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.
  2. A lot, a hole and a pile of lumber, the right tools and skill, that’s all it takes.
  3. A home is built board by board, it’s not pre-assembled you have to build it.
  4. Wisdom is the tool that it takes to make it happen.
  5. In our first marriage Sherri and I tried to build our home using “our out of control emotions.” What a mess.
    1. I knew I was always right,
    2. She knew that she was always right.
    3. We based our RIGHTNESS on whatever we felt at the moment and it was an emotional out of control mess.
    4. What we needed was someone in the middle of the mess who knew without a doubt what was right.
    5. That someone is Wisdom.
  6. The thing about wisdom is that if we are willing and will ask God for wisdom He will give us wisdom.
  7. Jas 1:5 NKJV - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
  8. So we have this promise that if we lack wisdom He will give it to us.
  9. It’s a 5 word prayer that is always answered, “Father I ask for Wisdom.
  10. Wisdom in reactions
  11. Wisdom in words, help me to not say something hurtful and stupid.
  12. Wisdom for desires
  13. Wisdom to raise our kids
  14. Wisdom to be a spouse
  15. Wisdom at work
  16. Wisdom in our my relationships - to be a man/woman/father/mother/friend
  17. And to all these request God says yes. Isn’t that cool?
  18. And He gives it liberally, one version says generously.
  19. God will give us “generously” the tools that we need to build this home
