Welcome to The Real Mom's Playbook, the movement where we elevate your life. Brought to you by our premier sponsor, Earthley Wellness. In season two, we build onward from the intentional transformation to conquer the chaos, live in alignment, and build systems that work. So grab a notebook and let's get going.

All right, and welcome back to The Real Mom's Playbook. I'm your host, Lisa Autry.

Today I want to set you up for success and help you take action. It's time to put our excuses aside and start creating the life you desire, and that begins with creating a beautiful foundation. At the end of this episode, I also want to be offering a perfect start to help get you going on your journey, so make sure you listen to the whole episode and take that action.

As usual, let's open our episode by thanking our premier sponsor, Earthley Wellness. I cannot go on enough about how much I really, truly love this company. They operate with heart, soul, and integrity, and a company I am proud to be sponsoring with. I hope you'll go to the link in the show notes and explore their business.

So let's talk about why your life is chaotic and throughout today we're going to be talking about setting expectations for ourselves so that we can pave a road for success within the intentional transformation.

So first off, your life is chaotic because you are reacting to what life throws at you.

This doesn't mean you have to or can really even be prepared for every single situation in life, but that doesn't mean that you can't be prepared for daily life.

And currently, you are often reacting to daily life. When we think about not being able to be prepared for weird circumstances like me falling, that's very different than not being prepared, you know, for the next baby and for what all of that entails, what that season entails.

We call this the whirlwind. It's the laundry, food, housework, school, and games, caretaking, all the things in our life that need and desire our attention, and it wears us out.

Stephen Covey lays this philosophy out so well in what's known as the four quadrants of life. There are items based on urgency and items based on importance within this matrix to help you understand how you are dividing your time.

And I've attached a link to this matrix within the show notes, so you can kind of see what activities fall within urgent and important, non-urgent and important, not important and urgent, and then not important, not urgent.

And we must ask ourself when going through daily life, you know, is this important and is it urgent? What's really interesting about relationships is they are seen as important, but they are not urgent. Think about your relationship with yourself. Think about your relationship with your spouse and your children.

Is there ever a level of real urgency there? No, not really, but it is of high importance.

Does that mean we need to put less time and energy into them since it is not urgent? It actually means we need to do the exact opposite. So in order to actually mitigate the chaos in our lives, I truly believe we need to be spending more time on the actual important things in our life versus just the urgent.

In life, there's always going to be fires to put out, but relationships are among the things we should be putting the most time and energy into. That's our priority and that's really our reality. The relationship with ourselves, the relationship with our spouse, the relationship with our children, so on and so forth.

The urgent, however, has a strong hold on us in our daily life, and we have a really hard time differentiating the urgency with importance. And remember, you guys have heard me say this multiple times: if everything is important, then nothing is.

We're going to be talking about this a little bit more later in this episode, but I want you to keep importance in mind and what is truly important to you.

Another reason life is chaotic is you don't have any systems in place. You don't have set days for specific tasks. You don't really plan ahead. You don't really manage your daily workload in order to offer breath and relaxation.

You're either probably just running all over all the time for everyone else, or you just don't get anything accomplished and it makes you feel lazy and you just get scared into stalling.

The whirlwind is most likely ruling your life and mind in this case, because we oftentimes have system overload, right? We have way too much on our mind to where we cannot process the next step. Where do I go from here? What do I do? What requires my time and energy?

If you're a stay-at-home mom, you're walking around, you're like mess, mess, mess. You're grabbing things, putting it away.

If you're a working mom, a lot of times we try not to look at the mess. And so when you get home, you're trying to tackle tasks that were on your mind on the way home.

And I don't care what your title is, whether it's working mom, work at home mom, or stay-at-home mom, we can all live fulfilled, intentional, tidy lives with meaning and goals. I had one client, I was talking to her recently, she's like, well, I'm just a stay-at-home mom. I'm like, you are not just a stay-at-home mom. You have meaning, you have purpose, you have goals. And to juxtapose this, I was talking with a working mom and she's like, well, I have a career and that's all I have time for on top of my kids, that's all I do, that's all I can do.

You need to have personal goals. You need to have a relationship with yourself. And when we start with action and intention, that's when the whirlwind kind of takes a backseat and we are able to step into our best selves and be our best selves.

Really quick, I want you to write down these three reminders.

So pause this, grab a pen and paper, write down these three reminders.

Number one, I will not overfill my time for the sake of just doing.

Number two, I will live with intention and meaning in order to live fulfilled.

And number three, I will ask myself before I commit to something, what is its importance in my life?

These are three really impactful reminders because it's going to help you build in beautiful boundaries with yourself. It's going to help open up that inner dialogue and help you truly understand what path you need to be carving throughout this year. I'm going to repeat these reminders one more time.

Number one, I will not overfill my time for the sake of just doing.

Number two, I will live with intention and meaning in order to live fulfilled.

And number three, I will ask myself before I commit to something, what is its importance in my life?

Big impactful questions.

Before we go any further, let's take a brief break with Kim from Sparkle and Shine. Be right back.

 And we are back.

So as you begin moving through the intentional transformation, I want you to place expectations and boundaries on yourself.

So those three reminders are going to be extremely important as you go through this process.

And the outcome is really exponential, so I want you to have improved decision making skills based on personal values and priorities.

I want you to have increased clarity and focus on goals and priorities within the three pillars of success, home, routine, and finance.

I want you to have improved management of time and resources for greater productivity and success.

I want you to have a greater sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in your life as a woman and mother.

I want you to have the improved ability to navigate challenges and obstacles in a values based way. It's not just about reacting anymore, it's knowing what step you will take when you're presented with an obstacle and problem.

And that starts with creating a personal values-based action plan for achieving success in the three pillars, the home, the routine, the finances.

When you align these three pillars with your value-based living, that's how you begin to take yourself to the next level. And with this, you're going to have increased confidence in decision making and problem solving skills as a mom. And we can always use more of that. That's the ultimate goal and outcome.

But home, routine and finances, all of these start with a smart foundation. It starts with the heart of your life.

Again, if everything is important, then nothing is. Are you putting your time and energy into those important things? Maybe not necessarily urgent, if it's relationship based, if it's a relationship with God, a relationship with yourself, a relationship with your children or spouse, those aren't seen as urgent things.

It's, oh, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.

But the problem is, is that those are the things typically of utmost importance, and we're not giving them their time and attention today.

Your journey begins with what's important, but not always urgent in your life. These are known as your top five values.

We discussed value systems in season one, but I want to help you take it a step further. It's not only important knowing what your values are, but how to apply them to your life in a way that aligns nicely with the three pillars of success.

We want to work smarter versus harder. This creates inspiration and energy in your life. When the pieces of your life align, amazing things happen.

A beautiful and tidy home is the byproduct of systems. This means you have more time for your values in order to live in alignment.

A calm and controlled routine is the byproduct of boundaries and strategy in your life. This means you have more energy for your goals, dreams, and relationships.

Defined and growing financial goals are the byproduct of aligning today's objectives with tomorrow's dreams. This allows you to live more secure and confident in your daily living.

Within this episode, I want to help you set the stage for success for these three pillars by having you answer three really important reflection questions. This is going to help you understand the importance of your action going forward.

So question number one, when I look at the direction of my life, is this the direction I see for myself and my future?

Number two, am I excited to start each day or struggling and overwhelmed?

And then number three, where do I see myself in three years? Am I making the necessary steps in order to achieve that starting today?

Let me repeat those one more time.

Number one, when I look at the direction of my life, is this the direction I see for myself and my future?

Number two, am I excited to start each day or struggling and overwhelmed?

And number three, where do I see myself in three years? Am I making the necessary steps in order to achieve that starting today?

Sit on these for a little bit. This isn't meant to be rushed. This isn't just a to-do to check off.

I want to help you understand who you desire to become and the action you need to take. These are questions that not enough of us ask ourselves on a daily basis. It's all about the whirlwind, it's all about the to-dos and just getting from one day to the next, especially if you have young children, it's about surviving the long days. But it doesn't have to be that way. It could be moments of joy. Or it could be moments of chaos.

It could be moments of appreciation and just pausing and watching the little people that we are literally creating.

We are creating these small people to be adults in the future with hopes and dreams. It starts with us. It always starts with us. And if we are not enjoying it, we're gonna look back with regret and wish we would've done things differently. And we don't want to do that. We want to look back confidently and say, wow, I did that.

I did so many amazing things because I put my time and attention where it was most important. And sometimes that means saying goodbye to the urgent. And really leaning into your top five values and those value systems in alignment with the three pillars of success.

You can have a tidy home, you can have more time on your hands, and you can live the way you desire financially.

It means putting your time and heart into your values.

Let's take our last break really quick with Crystal Cosmo. Be right back.

 And we are back.

So it's time to take action. You wrote down your three reminders. You wrote down your three reflections. Really sit on that. And today we talked about the perfect place for you to begin.

If you are looking for your perfect start in the intentional transformation, I created the training called Align.

The beginning of your intentional transformation starts here.

I want to take you from anxious to calm.

I want to take you from overworked to peaceful.

I want to take you from scattered to being intentional and defined.

And I want to help you begin your own intentional transformation at your pace on your time.

And step one in the intentional transformation is ALIGN.

Within the intentional transformation, we go from stressed to blessed by understanding how to prioritize and systematize our lives. Align is your path towards that defined, systematized life.

I want to assist you in overcoming obstacles and staying committed to your value-based vision for the long term.

This is not about taking a fun little test and saying, okay, that's great. This is about understanding what steps you need to do to get in alignment long term.

You can have all you desire as long as you understand what you desire and the means with which to obtain it, this introductory program shows you how.

I want to help you see instant success by understanding what comes first in your life and how to strategically place those within the three pillars, home, routine, finances.

I truly believe that so many of us are tired of barely keeping our heads above water because we are busy moms and working women, and we are so many roles.

And I want to help you finally take control of your home, your routine, your finances, and start living a life that feels more aligned with what you truly desire.

I designed this really short but impactful audio course and workbook exclusively with the hot mess mom in mind.

This is a six module audio training, so you're going to learn how to identify your core values and apply them to every aspect of your life, say goodbye to the stress and overwhelm that comes with trying to do it all without a clear path, and then how to create a value-based action plan that is easy to follow and will keep you on track towards your goals.

So this is a small, perfect start to your intentional transformation. It includes a couple of little audio bites, some affirmation cards so you can place your values where you see the most, and then a step-by-step workbook in order to help you understand, in conjunction with the audio bites of, here's step one, what I have to do. Here's step two.

I laid it out super clean.

So when we were talking as a team, Hey, how does someone get started because we've been taking people through the intentional transformation for over three years now within this system and this program.

And so we're like, how can we get someone to start at their own pace, at their own comfort level, at an affordable price so that they can start on their journey as well? And that's why we created Foundation, and within that phase one is ALIGN. More is coming, but this is the perfect start to your journey.

This program is actually going to officially launch April 7th, but I've made it available as a pre-order from now until April 6th at a discount.

So if you want to test this out and see what this is all about, the whole Foundation series, this is the perfect time to do that, you're going to get it as a pre-order.

It will not be available until April 7th. It'll be sent to you right on April 7th, right for you to download and start on your intentional transformation.

And I made it a ridiculously low price because I want everyone to be able to invest and take advantage in her perfect start. Whether this is all you need or you want to continue on through the Foundation series as we continue on, I want it to be a journey that helps you feel aligned, energetic, while being simple.

You know, I'm all about simple. Don't make it super hard. Don't make it super complicated. And while I like to give you guys a lot, we're keeping it super, super simple in this challenge and in this program. And this is all at your pace for you to do when it makes sense for you. And you can incorporate all of it instantly or a little bit at a time as phases go.

Make sure you click the link in the show notes titled Align and invest in yourself.

Remember what's important. Remember what's intentional and remember what's inspirational to you. You can have the life you desire as long as you know what path it is that you desire and how to create that path.

It's time to go from hot mess to balanced and blessed.

I hope you're ready to start this journey with me.

Until next time, I'm your host Lisa Autry, and this is The Real Mom's Playbook.
