Welcome to the Real Moms Playbook, where balance becomes a lifestyle. Brought to you by our premier sponsor, The Breakfast Club Coffee Co. In Season 3, we are building good foundations with your Monday morning wake up. So fill your cup, grab a notebook, and let's get going. Welcome to Episode 8 of the Real Moms Playbook.

I'm your host, Lisa Autry. And today we're tackling a topic that every busy mom needs to get right, money mindset. We're diving deep into how shifting your thoughts around money can give you clarity, control, and open the door to more abundance in your life.

First, let's begin the episode by thanking our premier sponsor, The Breakfast Club Coffee Co.

Have you picked up your Foundations flight yet? The Breakfast Club created this flight just for you to be able to sample every single flavor mentioned in this season, all seven amazing and unique flavors right to your door. Today in my cup is the Lou Brew. The Lou Brew is a medium roast with a touch of dark roast, so I brewed mine with some organic sweet cream to let that boldness flow. If you are a bold mama with a touch of sass, the Lou Brew is totally for you. Click the link in the show notes to grab both the Foundations Flight and the Lou Brew. All right. Now that I've got my coffee fix, let's dive into today's topic. This one is a big one because we know that how we think about money directly impacts how we handle it. Many moms I work with want to feel more confident with their finances, but they are carrying around with them, limiting beliefs and uncertainty around their money. So today I want to help you shift that. We're going to be talking about how to get clarity on your mindset that can give you control and more importantly, set you up to attract more abundance into your life.

And we have three exercises to get you started.

Today, I want to start with a quote that I am very fond of: your money we'll always match your mindset by Joe Vitale. Think about something you fear. Do you bring more of it into your life? Probably not. We actually try to keep it as far away as possible.

That's what many of us do with our money. When it comes into our accounts, it flies right back out before we have any time to actually look at it. Clarity and control ultimately leads to generating more money and aid you in creating lasting wealth.

The goal is to help you grow your ability to manage your money in alignment with your deepest values so that you can live the life you truly desire. I will say this as a Christian and as someone who has dramatically deep in my faith over the last few years, money isn't the gateway to happiness, but it is a powerful tool for doing God's work and honoring him. Instead of viewing money as something negative or evil, ask yourself how you can use it to make a greater impact. Let God bring abundance into your life so that you can continue to do good work with it.

Now, before we dive into the three exercises, I want to address something I hear a lot from my clients. I'm not the one in control of the money in my household.

This is really common as many families follow the traditional dynamic where men handle the finances. I see nothing wrong with this and leaning into your husband is a great thing. However, having clarity for yourself is just as important. You never know the day could come when you need to take over or at least know where your money is to take action.

So I want to encourage you to join in the journey now before an emergency. You don't need to take it over, but asked to be a part of the conversation just to be aware and have clarity in order to help make good decisions on your end as well. A marriage is a partnership, a team and finances should be discussed as a team as well.

There's two aspects you need to become familiar with in order to gain control over your money. Number one, your mindset, understanding how you feel about money and the habits you create around money are crucial for your short term and long-term success.

And number two, your spending, where your money is going week by week and the spending habits that you've formed over time. Today, we're going to focus on mindset. Next week is all about spending, so make sure you are subscribed, so you don't miss that. Now that we've laid the foundation of understanding how important your money mindset is, I want to give you three simple, but powerful exercises that you can start right now. These exercises will help you gain clarity and start shifting your mindset around money.

Remember, these are just the first steps, small, but powerful steps that can help you start aligning your mindset with your financial goals today.

Number one, start by identifying your current money beliefs. One of the most important steps in shifting your money mindset is recognizing your current beliefs.

Ask yourself, what are the stories I tell myself about money? Be open, honest with yourself here. Do you love it? Do you idolize it? Do you fear it? Do you avoid or ignore it? The first step is all about awareness before you can make any changes. So we need to know what we're working with and understand how we truly feel about money. Number two, practice gratitude for what you have now.

A powerful way to shift from scarcity to abundance is by focusing on gratitude. Take time each day to acknowledge what you already have, whether it's financial or otherwise. I encourage you to write it down. So we often focus on what we're lacking rather than the blessings we've already received.

Gratitude not only shifts your heart toward joy, but also positions you to receive and steward money wisely, whatever comes your way versus acting out of fear because you don't know where the next money will come.

And we want to shift that perspective of having confidence and calm and peace when it comes to your money, which will help you steward it more wisely.

Number three, set an intention for how you want to feel about money. Once you've identified your current beliefs and practice gratitude, the next step is to set an intention for your financial future.

Decide how you want to feel about money. Many of my clients say they wish to feel peace, control, calm, and even excitement around their money. Does this come up for you too? Write it down. This intention will serve as your guiding light as you move forward with mastering your money by taking these three steps, you're actively rewiring your mindset from one of fear, uncertainty, or lack of control to one of abundance and confidence.

This is meant to be a simple start. For a deeper dive into mindset. I really recommend you check out grow. It's my audio course and workbook that offers deeper insights and practical strategies to help you master your financial mindset and take meaningful steps towards money confidence.

Check the link in the show notes for more details. Remember, the goal is not for money to control you, but for you to view it as a tool that enhances your life and aligns with your values. Next week. We'll be diving into the second part of gaining financial control, understanding your spending habits. But for now, start with these three mindset shifts and see how your perspective on money begins to transform.

That's it for today. This is Lisa Autry. And thank you for joining me for the Real Moms Playbook. This podcast has been made possible by our amazing sponsor, The Breakfast Club Coffee Co.
