Growing Omar Syed wanted to be an architect to design houses. But as soon as he started working on computers when he signed up for computer courses, he completely turned the aspirations to computers and programming them. He wrote even his own printing software so on. Although he worked for Raytheon on hardware aspect (Chip Design), but he got into AI later with his Masters degree. Which lead him to NASA as research analysis center. He started business to help business host websites, and also Matrimonial site for Indians. So he always had entrepreneurial mindset.
Omar Syed, was early into Bitcoin and its scalability issues. Although he loved BitCoin, he was working on it since before people started understanding the issues it poses. His knowledge and expertise in distributed and scalable systems for large enterprises like NASA and Yahoo, led him to dig into that issue and now create Shardus (Https://shardus.com), which is based on Sharding theory. Now they are able to demonstrate linear and autoscaling, in other words dynamically increase transactions per second, which is currently big issue with Crypto transactions.
Shardus is trying to enable people to spin up their own network to build blockchain applications unlike Ethereum. This can revolutionize how blockchain applications can be build and deployed. Basically really make it very easy to scale applications and reduce the effort build applications on blockchain technology.
