S1/E3: Empathy
Feb 13, 2020•1 hr 15 min•Season 1Ep. 3
Episode description
"Men are trash!" "Black Lives Matter!" "The country is divided." These are the kind of phrases that have become commonplace within social discourse but why? What is it that makes "them" (people who belong in these and other minority groups) complain? Why is there so much suffering? Why is everyone rushing to the podium to talk about how they feel, what they've been through and why should it even matter to you? In this EP, SB delves into how a much-needed self-practice (Empathy) may be one of the solutions to developing a deeper understanding of others starting with ourselves. Having clearer insights into the nature of our pain may help us develop greater appreciation/awareness of what people who aren't like us go through which leads to lessened conflict, greater solidarity and support for others. After all, don't we really, truly, need each other?
