Everyone thinks they are one, so we spoke with one to find out what its all about. We sit down with Mark Rutledge, a former Derby County youth scout and currently Head of UK Scouting for Route One Sports Management. We talk to Mark about his time at Derby County and what scouting at the youth level is like. We speak about the in's and out's of scouting, the rules, ethics and how wide of a net can a club cast? We also speak about the current crop of Derby County youngsters (Max Bird, Louie Sibley, etc.) and talk about who are the new starlets that DCFC fans should be talking about. What does Mark look for in a player and whats the attribute that sticks out most to him when scouting?
