Intro / Opening

So in our final episode for season three, 2024 and only days until Christmas, I wanted to share with you the top five pugcast episodes that were downloaded for season three. So if you find that you've got some spare time over the holiday break and want to catch up on some pug chat or even re listen to a favourite episode, I thought this might help you prioritise your listen. Hey all Hormans and Puggies, welcome to the Pug Life show, brought to

you by Pug Parties. Because your pug deserves to be the best dressed at the Porty and you can check out their outfits@pugparties.com I am your host Donna, and with me are my puggy co hosts Rosie and Kenji with their rescue foster brother Buster. If I had to imagine what Rosie, Kenji and Buster

would write in the letter to Santa. Pause. If they had opposable thumbs, of course, I guess that it would go something like this, Dear Santa Paul, all I want for Christmas is endless bloody rubs, tasty treaties, and a cosy lap to nap on. And then Rosie would finish that sentence off with do you think you can handle that? Because she is a demanding little princess. Kenji would say, pretty please because here's a polite little boy. And Buster would say in a voice full of hope with

my new forever family, please. In our last podcast for the year, we wanted to end the season on a high note by sharing the top five most downloaded episodes for season three, our plans for 2025, and our personal Pugmas wish just for you. But before we zoom in, I want to remind you to subscribe to our newsletter in the show notes so you get advance notice of our next episode and much, much more. Now, I say this every season, and I mean it when I say it,

but this season has been pretty bloody awesome. I've loved talking to every guest we've had on the show this year, and I have learned so much as a pug mum more than I thought I would. I'd love to know if you did too, even if you only listened to a couple of episodes that interested you in particular. That's the great thing about podcasts. So I started this pugcast for two reasons. I wanted to get to know other pug families

from around the world. I mean, what better way to strike up a conversation online with someone you've been commenting on a post within a Facebook group than asking them if they'd like to talk about their pug on my pugcast, Am I right? Plus, I also wanted to better educate myself as a pug mum whilst sharing it with the community because it's all all for the benefit

of our pugs really. I think Punk Porens more than any other porrant will do just about anything for their puggy and they're doing it long before the term fur child become an official word in the Oxford Dictionary. I know that I was dressing my first pug fat dog 20 years ago whenever we went out to do things together and we did everything together, I'm positive that you know what I'm talking about.

So in our final episode for season three, 2024 and only days until Christmas, I wanted to share with you the top five pugcast episodes that were downloaded for season three. So if you find that you've got some spare time over the holiday break and want to catch up on some pug chat or even re listen to a favourite episode, I thought this might help you prioritise your listening.

Top 5 Episodes for Season 3

So the fifth most downloaded episode this year and this has had the least amount of time to rack up downloads.

Noting that it was only released two weeks ago is that's right, episode 11 saving lives one puggy at a time with Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria where Joanna from Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria kindly joined me to talk about the work that she and the volunteers do so that the puggies and Frenchies in their care find their forever loving family and never have to face the possibility of being put down because their owners don't want to help

them find a new loving home. Jo also agreed to return for a follow up chat which was our episode 11 bonus about three lovely puggy ladies looking for their Christmas wishes to come true. So don't forget to listen to that episode as well. And if you can help Abby McKay or Cindy, please pop over to pugrescue.org au and donate or look at their adoption profiles

now. Our fourth most downloaded episode this year was Episode one playing indoors at Bark Park, Australia's first and only indoor dog park, which Rosie, Kenji and their foster sister and brother Roxy and Wally discovered earlier this year. I'm not sure I saw their

bodies move for the rest of the day. When we finally got home I was so pugered, but it is a testament to the work that Sharnelle has put into creating this amazing space for our fur children that is a safe alternative to an outdoor dog park that has lots of enrichment toys and activities to keep them entertained. Not to mention there's a cafe for the porrints to

get a coffee or a puppuccino as well. And there is a great story about halfway through the episode about how far Sharnel was willing to go to get her first puppy. That is so worth hearing.

I was incredibly impressed. Now if you want to check out Bark park for yourself and you live in Melbourne obviously you can book a play date on their website barkpark.com au or just pop in and buy a walk in pass, your Puggy will not be disappointed Our third most downloaded episode this year was Episode two Meet Espresso and Martini. It was our first pug interview for season three and how could you not love it when we're talking about two pugs with

names? That said in quick succession means a tasty adults only drink Espresso Martini. I loved everything about getting to know how Martini and Espresso got their names. And I think you'll also be very interested to hear all about Espresso's IV DD and how Govinda, their loving pug mum, is managing it, including how they moved to a new house to make sure that Espresso doesn't have to contend with stairs. Which just goes to show how pawsome she is and why this episode has been downloaded so much.

Espresso and Martini are on Instagram under the handle of Espresso Martini the Pugs and I'm sure they'd love to meet you and they're great snuffle kisses if you happen to meet them in person too. Our second most downloaded episode this year is Episode three what is in a Puggy's Name now. This episode was inspired by my conversation with Govinda about Espresso and Martini, two fabulous puggy names in their own right, let alone put together.

I ended up going down a rabbit hole reading a multitude of articles because apparently I'm not the only one who has thought about this and I decided that I would share some of the more interesting things I discovered in my reading journey about what is in a puggy's name or a doggy's name if you if you don't own a pug, which you'll obviously also enjoy, noting that it was the second most downloaded episode for season three. So as they say,

Drumroll P please. Our most downloaded episode this year was episode nine PD the Pug. Now it's not often that I get to meet a multi talented pug such as PD the Pug Pug Authority, an all round cute snaggletooth boy pug. But thankfully he agreed to come on the show to not only talk about himself and his pawson or should I say have his pug mum merrily talk about his pawson but to also talk about his books, the fourth having been released this year and my personal favourite,

A Star Is Born. PD the Pug on the Silver Screen. This was a great chat about all four books and where the inspiration for PD to write them came from. And if you have listened to the episode but haven't had time to buy the books then I highly recommend you do so@pdthepugproductions.com they're a great read for all ages and what better time to learn about PD's adventures than over the Christmas New Year period when you've got your feet up for 30 minutes or so.

Plus, book five will be coming out early next year so you need to be up to date before it does and we get PD back on to talk about his new book. Season three has been such a pleasure to create and there was strong competition between all 12 episodes. So just because the other episodes were beaten to the punch doesn't mean that they're not worth listening to

or listening to a second time for that matter. Some of our episodes will be handy to you at different times of your life, such as episode 5 on canine mental health, episode 10 on finding your poorfect pet professional such as a behavioural trainer, or episode four having the right solution available to you when the time comes for your puggy to cross the rainbow bridge. I would love to know what you thought about this year's episodes and if there is any topic you would like us to try and cover,

such as recommended food for puggy health. Or more importantly, if you'd like to come onto the Pugcast and talk about your favorite topic. That's right, your pug. Please send us an email at the PugLifeShowugparties.com or send us a DM via our Facebook group, the Pug Life Show Pugcast and we'll get back to you as soon as we can to sort out a time.

Our 2025 Plans

Now, I don't know about you, but 2024 has been a year of surprises and changes for us. We had to take a longer than planned break at the start of the year to help a family member who had broken both of their legs and needed a lot of care during their recovery. We appreciate that you didn't give up on us and we were very happy to be back when we could finally return to the office full time. We also started to design our very first collection of pug fitting outfits,

specifically a dress and a T shirt. The development of key aspects of what is now known as the Pugs and Stripes Collection was voted on by our pugtastic community of Grumble friends and will be released in early 2025.

We know that the collection will be better than we could have ever conceived thanks to your feedback and we hope that you will check it out over@pugparties.com in the new year we will be having a launch porty that includes a fashion parade and a few prizes as well and all proceeds from the Porti tickets will go to Pug Rescue and Adoption Victoria to help the next rescue Puggy in Need.

So keep an eye out on our socials as we will release updates in the new year on when and where and we hope that you can join us in person or online as we're hoping to live stream some of the event as well. Plus, Season four of the Pug Life show will

commence in February. Yay. We are working on securing our first few guests at the moment and we promise to keep providing you with great conversations about topics that are important for Pug porans as well as having pug families come on the show to talk about their Pug life, the highs and lows and the laugh out loud moments they seem to provide us on an almost daily basis. I'm really

looking forward to season four and I hope you are too. We will be popping into our Facebook group the Pug Life Show Podcast regularly, so if you haven't joined yet, do so now so we can keep in touch over the break. And don't forget to leave us a review with your podcast host. Every review helps us find more Pug Porans who might be looking for a fun pugfos podcast that puts a smile on their face whilst helping them understand their puggies better. So Rosie, Kenji and I, along with

Our PUGMAS wish for you

our current Rescue Foster buster, the Blind Pug and our past rescue fosters Rosie Sorry, Roxy and Wally. You can imagine it used to get a bit of a mouthful in the house. We cannot thank you enough for your friendship this year, be it via the podcast or via the Facebook group. We have loved meeting you in person or virtually and we hope to see you over the Christmas break if we run into each other at a playgroup or we catch up online over

some Christmas New Year's posts. We would love to see your videos and photos so please don't be shy in sharing them and we promise to share ours too, even the funny ones. Please be safe. If you are traveling Puggies, make sure to buckle up in your crate or with a puggy seat belt. And please don't eat anything off the floor. This is my challenge with Kenji. No parent wants to spend time in an emergency vet over the holidays because you ate something that will require your stomach to be pumped.

And I'm sure you don't want to have that happen to you either. We want to see you in the new year, happy and healthy and ready for another season of fun conversations and pugtastic events. So until next year, puggies, thank you so much for joining us this year. Have a paw some Christmas New Years. And hoomans, until next time, be generous with the snackies.
