Episode description

In this Episode, Ed takes us through his step by step process when designing a training programme for an athlete with specific performance based goals. His client, in this case, is about to embark on her journey towards the 2022 CrossFit Open, and has set herself the following goals:

- 1 Strict Muscle-up
- 10 Unbroken strict HSPU (in the box)
- 10 Unbroken Bar MU's
- 7 UB Ring Mu's
- 200lbs Clean and Jerk (FS 225lbs)
- 25 minute 5km run

The next steps include: Understanding the ‘why’ behind the goals; Looking at the calendar year; Testing vs retesting; Prioritisation of goals; Creating a skeleton; Adding the moments; filling in reps x sets x exercises.

Whether you’re a coach, someone who like to programme for themselves or others, or someone who is simply interested in understanding the process behind programming: this episode is filled with practical takeaways for you to implement into your own training.
