Exploring Chat GPT and Artificial Intelligence

Speaker 1

Hey friends , welcome to the Problem with Perfect . What is the Problem with Perfect ? It's the myth that if we just do more , be more and have more , our lives will be perfect . I'm Robin May , a journalist , wife , mother and , most days , a faith-filled Christian .

Speaker 2

And I'm Denise Bickel , a clinical therapist , educator , mom Mimi and spirit-filled follower . As recovering perfectionists , we promise to be transparent and real and to share the wisdom of trusted advisors and guests .

Speaker 1

So pull up a chair and have a seat . There's always a place for you at our table . Welcome back to another episode of the Problem with Perfect .

Speaker 3

Hello Rachel . Hello , I'm back for round two .

Speaker 1

I love it . I'm so glad . Thank you .

Speaker 3

I know it's so fun , I've had so much fun and thank you everybody for your feedback . On last week's episode where we were talking about Travis and Taylor and Robin , I knew you were texting me at the chief's game saying what should we name this episode ? I was like I need to come up with some sort of Taylor Swift lyric , but I was drawing a blank .

So did you see what I titled it ?

Speaker 1

No , what did you end up titling it ? I think I took a mixture of your ideas . I said is Travis Kelsey Taylor Swift's in game ?

Speaker 3

Oh , good job , I love it . That was really clever Wow .

Speaker 1

Great minds . We got it all together . I combine my thoughts with your thoughts and there you go .

But it was so much fun and if people haven't got a chance to listen to it , please just go back in and I think it was fun not only just to unpack it and fan on them a little bit , but also we got some good talking points in there that I think were helpful .

Speaker 3

Oh , definitely , and if you're just ever curious , I'm so obsessed with them , but why ? You're definitely going to want to listen to that episode . But we're back for round two . We're ready to chat again today .

Speaker 1

And I am going to just apologize in advance to you , rachel , because this conversation is going to be so completely one-sided , because it's one of those things that , again , when you were in my life every day , you would have made sure that I was up to speed on chat GPT , because you would be saying , robin May , you need to use it to do this , this and

this , but you have other people you're bossing around these days , right ?

Speaker 3

I think I did tell you some of the ways that you could use it though .

Speaker 1

You did and I was like , oh , that sounds amazing . But then I was like I don't know how to do it and so I just never did it .

So for everyone like me who is like I don't really understand what all this buzz is about chat , gpt or basically artificial intelligence and if I just stick my head in the sand long enough , maybe it's a fad and it'll go by the wayside and I won't be any different for not knowing .

Or if you thought , gosh , I really want to dig in , I think maybe I want to learn how to use it . Wherever you're at on the spectrum , I am so thankful for you , rachel , today , that you're willing to just come and help us learn about chat , gpt and artificial intelligence and how it can help our lives .

Speaker 3

Yeah , I'm so excited to talk about this and I think what's important for people to understand is that this boom of AI , AI has been around for a while .

Like , if you look at the timeline of AI , this has been worked on for years and years , but the boom where everybody was like I know what chat GPT is , or at least I've heard of it has been less than a year . So if you feel like what the heck I'm so behind , you're really not . We're less than a year into this .

So you starting to learn today and diving into it and taking baby steps , you actually might be further along than a lot of other people .

Speaker 1

Well , that's good to know , because it's beginning to feel like I'm so far behind I don't even know where to catch up . So for you to say you're really not that far behind , like this has only been , and even in just doing a little reading that I have about it in general , yeah , all the articles have been since like the beginning of the year really .

Speaker 3

Yeah , exactly , I think the open AI chat , gpt , really is what put AI on the map for the everyday user . So there's a lot of ways that you can use it both personally and professionally , and we're going to talk about that today as well as give some best practices , so hopefully by the end of this episode , you can feel comfortable trying to use it .

Speaker 1

I love it . I'm so excited . Again , I feel like I'm going to have to send you a check after this , so thank you in advance for the personal consulting .

Speaker 3

Well , this is fun , because I kind of got obsessed with it , just for fun , you know , and I thought how cool would it be if I could be a speaker talking about AI . So here you are , robin , you're making my dreams come true . Thank , you .

Speaker 1

Hey , thank you , and yeah , we'll just call this a practice round for you because I think you're on to something . But you've said like two senses about chat GPT and I already have a question . So you said it really boomed with open AI and chat GPT . Will you unpack that , because I , for people that don't even know what open AI and chat GPT is .

Speaker 3

Yeah , so open AI is the company that owns chat GPT , and we look at who is leading the industry right now in the AI world . It is the company open AI . So the way I like to think about it is you know , if you're thinking about Google , there's other search engines that you could use , right , like you could use Bing or Firefox , microsoft Explorer .

I don't even know some of the other ones because they're so irrelevant , because everybody's using Google , right . So open AI and chat GPT is the equivalent of Google today , like that's what people think of when they think of artificial intelligence and who's actually really leading the movement at this point .

Speaker 1

Okay , so there are other forms of it , but this is like , if you , this is the one to at least start with .

Speaker 3

It is , and I think that there are other really good ones too , so we can talk about that as well of different types of artificial intelligence that you can be using . It just depends upon your purpose and what you want . Okay , but I think that chat , gpt is the one that everybody kind of knows about .

Speaker 1

Okay , because , like I was mentioning to you before , we recorded , like on my Microsoft Teams , I know I have a version , a platform that I hear people in the business world talking about using quite a bit too . So but they're , they're . They do the same thing , they're just different platforms .

Speaker 3

Well , and what happened once chat GPT became a household name is now all of these other companies are like oh my gosh , I need to create AI and all my products . Right , everybody had the same meetings , yeah , and so you do see it in your work , items like your Microsoft Teams .

You see it in even your photo editing , or your creative tools and even different apps that you can have . So it's everywhere now . It just depends upon how you want to use it .

Speaker 1

Yeah , absolutely Well , as we go through this , maybe you can just weave in some insights for me , because Buzzsprout , which is the platform that hosts this podcast , like there's an AI option now .

So if I wanted to pay a certain amount of money , it says it will do all these things for me and I've been afraid to try it , but maybe after today I'll be brave .

Speaker 3

Maybe ? Yeah , and there's a plugin on chat GPT for which means like you have to get the pro version but , it is like this podcast assistant where writes your show notes for you .

Speaker 1

Yes .

Speaker 3

Like that's awesome .

Speaker 1

Wouldn't that be nice ? Yeah Well , and you bring up a point there . So I think everyone's going to want to know right off the top of their heads , like is this chat GPT free to me , or is it something I have to pay for ?

Speaker 3

Yes , so there are two versions . There is a chat GPT free version that you can use and then there's a pro version and then there's enterprise . So for pro it's $20 a month . That's what I use . I do recommend getting the pro version if you can , because it's one .

It's only $20 a month right , like most people can swing that , and if you think about how much time it saves you , then it's like it's a no brainer . It's worth it . With the free version it's going to depend upon the volume of users on the website .

So if everybody's using it on a Saturday morning and you have the free version , it might say sorry , robin , like you don't get any access right now because we're going to let our pro users instead . So as a pro user , I have access to it 24 seven . I don't have to wait if it's really busy .

And the other thing that it allows me to have on the pro version is I have access to chat GPT version four , and so what that means is that I can have plugins , it searches the internet in real time and a lot more other features . So it's like I'm going to have more access to different features than I would if I just did the regular free version .

Speaker 1

Okay , and I think , as we go along and have this conversation , some of that will make more sense about the benefits of it . So , okay , you said , if it's saving you this amount of money , this amount of time , it's a no-brainer . So let's get into . Like , what does it really do and how is it going to save us time ?

And before we actually get into that , I'd love for you to just back up for a second . And you know this podcast that you and I . You know it's a drink on the side , I know I'm about to choke .

I also think we should touch this ever quickly about why ChatGVT is perfect for our podcast listeners Podcast listeners that we know are high achievers , that they're perfectionists . What's the real connection there that you think that is so valuable ?

Speaker 3

Yeah . So I think if you're a perfectionist or you're a high achiever , it's like you're trying to do it all right and you're trying to do it all well and you have a million things that are on your to-do list and not enough hours in the day , and so why I would recommend using ChatGVT is think about it as your personal assistant .

Some of the tasks that you might need to get done around the house , like putting together a meal plan or trying to figure out your workouts for the week , or maybe you're planning a family vacation and you would like a virtual travel agent , right ? Chatgvt is going to be able to do all of that for you .

And if you think about the time that it would take you to do it if I'm planning my groceries for the week , it might take me an hour , Whereas ChatGVT can do it in one minute .

Speaker 1

I don't even know how that's possible . Okay , so exciting , love it . Okay . So , for those of us who are trying to do it all , undo it all , well , this is the perfect episode . Love it , love it , love it .

Speaker 3

Okay . So I have something else to say about this , though , of like another reason why you should do it . Yeah , and this goes back to why you you , we were talking about this earlier . You're , like I'm already so behind . Maybe this is just a phase and it's going to pass .

The reason why I personally got so excited about ChatGVT and AI when it came out or I wouldn't say when it came out , but when it became very popular was because I thought of this as this is like when the internet was born right when the internet was born , that changed the world and it changed the way that we work .

It changed everything about our lives , and I think about , you know , some people in my life or people I know who don't know how to use the internet in a basic way , or maybe aren't as great with their technology skills , and they're at a disadvantage . They just are .

It's harder and that's not fair , like we should give more resources to help some of these people .

But I see ChatGVT and AI as that next wave , and so I want to be somebody that is on the , is very like forward thinking around AI and understands how to use it in my personal life , but also my work , so that way I can protect myself and my job in the future , but then also so I'm one of those people that's still in the know with the things that are

happening in today's technology . So there's motivation as a perfectionist , but honestly there's just motivation as wanting to keep up with what's going on in the world

Benefits of Using Chat GPT

.

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , I think you're exactly right , and I recently went to a national meeting and everybody that got on stage talked about how they used some sort of AI in planning what they were going to say .

Like , so somebody said , you know , I had these three , these three presentations , these three PowerPoint presentations , and I basically said I told it to consolidate them and make it into one and make it this many slides , and it did it .

I'm like holy cow , yeah , and so I'm all , I'm ready to jump on the bandwagon because I think , like you said , it's here to stay and I think , if we're not , we're just going to miss out . Like I loved your explanation .

Like people who don't know you that use the Internet are disadvantaged , and so we don't want to be disadvantaged , especially as high achievers and perfectionists .

Speaker 3

Right .

Speaker 1

OK , so tell us what are the different ways , or the most important ways , that you think we can use chat GPT in our everyday life and in our work to really you know you save us enough time that it is a no brainer that like it's so worth $20 a month .

Speaker 3

Yeah . So I will say that I'm more motivated in looking how I can use this in my work than my own personal life , but I've definitely used it for both cases . Ok . So I think that let's start with personal life . You can use it in some of the areas that I mentioned before .

You could use it to be your personal trainer and say , hey , I'm a female , I'm 29 years old , I weigh this much and I'm looking to lose 20 pounds , like , can you create a workout plan for me ? And it will create a workout plan for you . Or let's say , hey , I don't know what to make for dinner tonight .

These , these are the items that I have in my fridge . Give me a recipe , three different recipes of meals that I can make with what I already have in my fridge or my pantry . You can ask it that you could say I'm going to Rome and I have X amount of money to spend . I want you to create a trip by tenor a for me .

That's within my budget , and it will compute it all out for you so you can look at it . Even you know obviously everybody knows I just got married , right ? If you needed help , I didn't do this , but if you needed help with vows , or if you needed help writing a made of honor speech or writing a speech for a funeral . I helped it right .

My Grammy's obituary . Like there's so many different ways that you can use it and it's just going to speed up some time , so what do you have to give it ?

Speaker 1

Like you said , like OK , these are , these are the ingredients that I have in my refrigerator . Give me three recipes . That's great . How do you give it enough information to know , like , what I want to do in Italy ?

Or how do you give it enough information to know what your Grammy was all about , so that it gives you an obituary that's meaningful and accurate ?

Speaker 3

Yeah , and that's a really good question and I know that's something I want to explore like really in depth a little bit later in this episode . But if we go back to the analogy of Google right now , if you are trying to put something in Google , what are you going to put in there ?

So let's say that you are hungry , it's lunch break and you want to find some food restaurants . You want to find some food restaurants near me right Now . If you put that in Google , it's going to come up with your list of restaurants .

If you put the same thing in ChatGbt , you're not going to get anything great right Like the big difference with Google and ChatGbt is with Google , it's OK to give it a very short keyword or phrase . If you do that in ChatGbt you're going to get garbage . It's really important that you come up with strong prompts , and it's even called something .

It's called prompt engineering , which we can talk about what that means in a little bit . But essentially , the more information and context that you give ChatGbt , the better output you are going to get . Ok , and so there are different strategies around how to prompt ChatGbt , which again , let's talk about in a little bit later .

But you ask a really great question because you you're only going to have generic outputs when you are asking very basic prompts .

Speaker 1

OK , that makes sense to me .

Speaker 3

Yeah , for the second part , though so that's talking about personal Think of anything that you could possibly need . I'm throwing a birthday party and I wanted to be toy story themed . Give me 30 suggestions of activities for kids that we could do . Right , like there's so many different things .

Here's another one that's good on the personal side , and then we'll move to business . So I actually I heard this idea from Nick Skovard and I think it's great is that you can use ChatGbt to create a children's story for your kids . So I love that .

So I want you to create a bedtime story for Zuri , who's six years old , and make her a fairy princess , who also is the president , and help save her sister , or something like that , and it will create a whole bedtime story for you that's personalized , and I think that's such a cute idea because I think of yeah , I think of like what your grandkids or your

kids are obsessed with , and you could create a personalized story just for them and read that to them at night , and how fun is that .

Speaker 1

So awesome , yeah , Especially for people that are like you know how many kids want you to tell them a story and you're like I got nothing , I got nothing .

Speaker 3

My brain's all been used up by adult problems . Today I can't come up with your story Exactly , but honestly , like the options are endless . Just think about in your personal life , anywhere , that you wish you had some sort of personal assistant or someone who could help you brainstorm creative ideas , and you can probably use ChatGbt for it .

Speaker 1

OK , so just really practically . You know , one of the things that I struggle with is like this time of year I just had to change all my summer clothes to winter clothes and nothing infuriates me more . So like could I say , help me Figure out how many clothes I need and get rid of the rest ?

Speaker 3

You could A better way to say that ? Yeah , I think that along those lines you can . So ChatGbt , just recently , is able now to recognize photos . So that is really big , where you could literally upload your photos and say you know , give me 20 different outfit combination ideas based on the photos that I upload .

You could ask , hey , give me , you know , scan , scan the web and find the top 20 articles that showcase , like , what is the style for Gen Z today , and give me a summary so I can apply it to my wardrobe Right , like there's a lot of different ways that you could say it , but again , it would be about the output that you put in .

Speaker 1

So it's only going to be as as an intelligent kind of as as you are in the prompts that you give it .

Speaker 3

Yeah , and so again , this is another idea from Nick Scovart , too , which I really liked is that he likes to think about the most successful people are going to be centurions , where it's like the centurions are half human , half horse , you know from like the fantasy days or whatever .

So it's like in order to have the best outcome from AI , you have to think about it's not you or AI , or you versus AI , it's you and AI and what you can create together .

Speaker 1

No , that's helpful .

Speaker 3

Yep .

Speaker 1

Yeah , ok , so those are great ideas about how to use it personally . And this I feel like I should just ask like when we pull up the website right , because it is a website or for right and you create an account just like you do for everything else , and it is an app on your phone as well .

Speaker 3

You can have both .

Speaker 1

OK , and if you , if somebody just puts in chat , gvt and their browser , they'll find it OK . All right , all right . So then let's let's shift and talk about how it can change our life at work .

Speaker 3

Yeah , so I'm like super , super passionate about this . Think about how this can help your productivity . So everybody is probably being asked to do more with less these days . Right , ai is going to be your ultimate hack to help you be more productive while giving you time back in your day . So I'm in marketing .

I can have chat GVT do a full brand analysis for me or a competitor analysis . That would normally take me an hour to a few hours to do , and it can do that within a few minutes . Another big one is a blog post .

So like , if I'm trying to rank a one of my blog posts on a website and it takes me two or three hours to write a blog post , given good prompts , I can have chat GVT do that for me again in one minute . Yeah , really . Anything like email writing , et cetera . It works with coding . It works with Excel .

If you're trying to figure out , if you're in sales and you're trying to figure out what your target is , you can use that for prospecting . There's so many different ways to pin on what your business line is that you can use it .

Now I will say I really want to make it clear that I don't ever give any sensitive information to chat GVT , because the way that it is training right now is it's training itself , based on the information that you give it , and so you don't want to put your company at risk by any sensitive information .

But as far as getting tasks done in a day , it does really maximize your efficiency . Now here's the hack to it , okay , so what I recommend that you do is document every single project that you use AI for and then document how long it would normally take you to complete that project on your own .

So , let's say , it would normally take me three hours to the blog post . I use chat GPT and I go through and edit it , and now it only takes me 30 minutes .

Calculate your hourly rate and then , when you have your one on one with your next level manager , tell them how you're using AI in your work and translate that to how much money you save the company , because that would have taken you that amount of time . Nice , and they will be happy with you , absolutely .

And if your executive leadership team is really trying to push AI and you are showcasing ways that you're using it every single week , that's also a huge win for you as well , because , again , it just shows you're taking that initiative and you're cutting edge , yeah .

Speaker 1

And that's really a motivator . I think it should be a motivator for a lot of people , and it's for me , you know , besides the fact that it's just some of this stuff isn't fun , you know ? Yeah , exactly .

Speaker 3

And that's a great thing about it is a lot of the mundane tasks . Yeah , just get rid of it . Yeah . And to your point earlier , robin , what you've noticed is that , oh my gosh , now Microsoft Teams that are working on AI , they're working on a team that has its own AI assistant , and there are a lot of places like that too .

So , like you know , look at the CRM you use Does it have AI capabilities ? Look at your project management tools like Canva . I use Canva to create graphics and things like that . Now it has AI and they call it Magic Wand .

All of these other tools that you might already be using have probably felt the pressure to start adding AI to their products , and you might be able to just use whatever is already there in your current workflow .

Speaker 1

Yeah , well , and you mentioned the sensitive information , so I think , like for me , for Microsoft Teams , like it's connected to our SharePoint , so yeah , it is a place that's fine . Right , yeah , it's a safe place for that sensitive information to be used with the AI platform .

Speaker 3

Exactly . You wouldn't want to be like uploading your financials into chat GPT . But if it's already built in , then it's okay .

And what I do is , if I'm ever not sure it's like I've had this happen where I've seen AI in a tool set that I'm already using and if I'm not positive if it's okay or not I just ask , like ask your next level boss , and say are you okay if I use AI with this or not ? Because then you don't get into trouble . Right , right , right .

Speaker 1

But are safe and sorry and I'm interested to know does your next level boss know , like I would have ? I'm going to bet you probably know more about this than that person .

Speaker 3

Actually no . So he is really . I report . Well , I report to the CEO and the chairman , and so they are really interested in using AI .

The chairman , especially , is wanting this to be a huge initiative for the company , so anytime that he and I talk , we can nerd out about it and he's all for it and he's glad that I'm doing it , so he stays on top of it quite a bit too .

Speaker 1

Very , very cool . But again , I think it just speaks to the fact that if you want to be on top of things period , then it's worth your while to to figure out how to make this chat , GPT or whatever platform , work for you .

Speaker 3

Well , and if you're trying to get promoted , to think about this , right , like to this whole discussion at the very beginning , a lot of people still don't really know how to use chat GPT , they don't have an understanding of it , and it is early , so it's okay .

But if you're one of those people even now that can start digging into it at work and come up with more efficient processes , you think of how that's going to be seen to your team , right ? You're going to be seen as a go-getter .

You're going to be someone who's seen as strategic , someone who's saving the company money , and that does get noticed , I would think .

Speaker 1

Yeah , absolutely hey

Strategies for Enhancing AI Output Quality

. On that note , I did want to ask you about the quality . You know we're going to talk about how to get the most out of it , how strategies further you're prompting , but do you feel like , once you get good at that , that it does provide the same quality of output that you would have gotten if you to spend those three hours instead of the 30 minutes ?

Speaker 3

Yeah , and I think we can really get into this now , okay . So again , you've got to think about it . It's not you versus AI , or it's you and AI together . So any output that chat GPT gives me , I'm not just going to call it , I'm just going to copy and paste and use that in my marketing or sales or whatever .

I'm going to look it over and I it's like they're the student and I'm the teacher and I'm grading it . So I can be like , hey , good job with this paragraph here , you're on the mark , but then this part actually no , this is not at all what I needed . I want you to redo this and so think about it as if you were instructing your students .

So if I again with the blog post idea , let's say that the open Open paragraph just really sucks , uh-huh . So I mean , it's artificial intelligence , but I still like to be nice to it and I might say you know , great job , good job on your output , right ? But then I'll say the opening paragraph is not what I was looking for .

I want you to rewrite the opening paragraph , have a stronger hook which , for anyone listening a hook is like that first sentence , and I really want you to tweak . So I would tell it exactly what it did wrong , based off of what I'm seeing , and give it better instructions for how it can do better in the future .

So and then it would re redo it and you might have a better opening paragraph then .

Speaker 1

So it's actually going to build its intelligence with you as you keep having these conversations . So it's not a one and done . It's like the next time you and your AI chat GPT go to work , it'll have some foundation of what Rachel likes .

Speaker 3

So they did just create something to help with that .

Originally , the way it works was it doesn't remember who you are or what you like , but they did just create an update where you can do that and say these are , in general , the rules that I want you to follow , because I think they were noticing that people wanted that , and I honestly haven't explored that too much yet .

But the way that it works as a standard is that each time you create a new chat , it's fresh every time .

Speaker 1

Okay because you know , like spoiler alert for some people here whenever you were the creative director for Abame Ministries , sometimes you wrote things for me right , and it was important that you sounded like me .

Speaker 3

I feel like we need to cut that .

Speaker 1

Well , but I'm being honest and I wouldn't let just anyone write something as a favor , if they were me , you have to know your voice . You knew my voice , you knew my content , you knew like , given this particular thing , I know what Robin would say about it and I can write it the way that she would say it .

And you know , I came to trust you to do that because of our relationship .

Speaker 3

So how do you get that with chat GPT Basically ? Yeah , that's what I'm asking , yeah , so there's several things that you could do . The first is you could give it your brand guides .

So if you are working at a company and you have brand guidelines that says , here's the tone of voice that we use , here's how we are as a company , here's how we're not , you can literally paste that in and say , hey , I want you to create a blog post about this or social media post about this , use this tone of voice and literally copy and paste that

section of your brand guides and that works really , really well . Another thing that you can do is say hey , I am , you know , I am a podcaster and a writer and I want you to write me 10 social media posts that I can post on Facebook in my voice . I'm going to give you 10 examples of my writing for you to learn .

And then I want you to mimic that right , and so you can actually give it some of your past writing examples so it can see what your tone of voice is and how you like to write . And it can write new blog posts or new posts , but Facebook posts based off of old , old ones that you have given it . So that's one example of that you can do .

Speaker 1

Yeah it's blowing my mind .

Speaker 3

Yeah , so that's one thing I know it is , but that's what's so cool about AI is that it's like whoa . This is so mind-blowing . Another thing that I like to do to really help it get a voice is , again , through prompt engineering . So again , you want to give it as many details as possible .

If we're talking about what this would look like for you to write some Facebook posts as Robin May Ministries , what you could do is say I am a writer that has a Facebook group that encourages women , and you would use your tagline that we work so hard on , that they are enough and etc . My target audience is .

And then you would say women , 40 to 60 , who are Christian , who live in the Midwest , who have two kids . You would get detailed about it and you would say that in your prompt of just like , here's who I want you to write to . And then , of course , you need to say what output you want it to create .

But giving it the context ahead of time about who it is that they're writing to is going to help it create your voice and sound like you .

Speaker 1

Fascinating .

Getting Started With Using the Tool

Okay , so for someone who's motivated by this podcast to start , how would you tell them to begin to foundationally use the tool and learn ?

Speaker 3

That's a great question . So I'd say , don't be scared , it's okay to just try . I mean , I would just get in there , even with the free version , and see , if you can , what you can come up with , and know that at the very beginning you might not come up with the most amazing things right away , but that's okay .

Maybe try the story prompt for your grandkids or your kids , or try the prompts about you know if you're creating something for dinner and here's what you have in your fridge , and just remember that you want to be very detailed . So that's what I would suggest is one , just start playing in there . But two , give it a lot of detail .

Okay , here's a third tip that I would really give is that you want to start your prompt with act as blank . So that's really important , because what you're saying is you are an expert in this , and you can even say that you are an expert in online fitness training . You are an expert in organization . You are an expert travel advisor .

Okay , you are an expert marketing director . You're an expert social media coordinator . Put in whatever it is and have that be your very first sentence . That's so helpful .

Speaker 1

So yes , so whatever you want it to be . So like again , thinking back to it's your personal assistant . Yes , you're very specialized personal assistant . You are an expert chef .

Speaker 3

Yes , now . So you write that down . You are an expert chef , and you could even go further . Let's say you're craving Italian . Okay , you are an expert chef specializing in Italian cuisine . Right , like , think about it . You want to give it more information . Now you're going to say the next sentence , what you want Chad GBT to do .

Okay , so you are an expert chef specializing in Italian cuisine . I want you to create a three course meal that will feed a party of 10 . Okay , so that's what you want it to do , but now you're going to want to give it more information , right ? So , let's say , you said you went ahead and you hit enter and that's your prompt .

You're going to get a three course meal , but you're like gosh , shoot , I wanted the first one to be a salad . So , chad GBT , you suck , right ? Well , no , it's because you need to prompt it that . So I want you to create a three course meal that will feed 10 people .

I want the first course to be a salad , and then I want the second course , the main course , to include chicken , but I also want an option that's vegan , because I have a vegan friend . That's coming Right .

So you need to think through you as the teacher , think through what you need , and then make sure , before you hit enter , you're feeding it all of those details and you need gluten free option , and say I want to know , give me all of the recipes of what I could potentially make , right ?

And then , before you hit enter , here's another thing that you should always say Is there any other information you need from me in order to complete my request ?

Because what that's going to do is Chad GBT is going to say yes , I either have all the information and it's just going to go ahead and give it to you , or it's going to say , hey , I actually need to know . Do you have you need to tell me about ? I don't know , I shouldn't have done cooking because I never could . Do you have any food allergies ?

Yeah , something like that . Like it would say I need to also know this , and then it is actually training you . It's saying here's how you can be better , right , yeah ?

And so I like using again , act as at the very beginning , be very , very detailed in the middle , no matter what it is , and then at the end , make sure you're asking do you need anything else from me in order to complete this request ?

Because then you are going to have a higher quality output , and what I would recommend is that you try several different versions of that in Chad GBT and see what you get , the more that you can practice with some of these detailed .

Speaker 1

Okay , I think it will be really helpful If we put the script of this episode like on , attach it in the show notes . I don't usually put the script , but I feel like you're saying so many things that are really good that for people that are just driving or whatever , or brushing their teeth , that you're going to be like , oh wait , what did she say ?

So I just want people to dig deep in the show notes for this episode , because I think you're going to want these very specific details that Rachel's giving us to make you more successful .

Speaker 3

Yeah , well , and I'm also , you know , happy to share my knowledge if you get stuck and things like that , but it is , it is trial and error , but I do recommend you just get in there and play with it . You will have a lot more success if you do the pro version , just because there's so many more options there .

When we look at plugins , let's go back to the idea of planning a trip to Rome . So Expedia has a plugin with Chad GBT , where you want to get a trip to Rome , and because Expedia has the plugin , it's going to pull like the best flights for you and it can like even book it for you , right , or hotel , or whatever Expedia does .

Speaker 1

Yeah , because you can be very specific , like say hey , I want to plan a two week vacation to Italy where I'm leaving on this day and returning this day , and I want to do these things .

Speaker 3

I want you to plan a trip that's going to be under this budget . Provide me options for hotel sightseeing , give me places for meals , suggestions you know you get the idea .

Speaker 1

Yeah , and the more specific you are about the meals and the sightseeing and the things you like to do right , the happier you get .

Speaker 3

Yeah , and that's why people are not having as much success with it is that they're treating it like Google . They're saying restaurants near me , yeah , does that ?

Speaker 1

make sense . Now it does . It does Because actually I just read an article in prep for our conversation today that was like chat , gpt or google question mark , like like it's one or the other , but to me it's like they're completely different .

Speaker 3

Yeah , and eventually those worlds will merge too . It's like things are moving pretty rapidly .

AI for Black Friday Shopping

I know one of the ways that I actually really have been loving using AI lately with Black Friday is on Amazon .

They use AI to do a summary of all of the reviews and they'll say users say that they like the shirt because it's really soft , but you'll definitely want to size up and the color is as expected , and so it saves me all the time going through and reading everybody's reviews . It just literally takes all of them and does a summary for me .

Yeah , I'm like that's awesome .

Speaker 1

Well , it's funny that you say that , because I've been seeing those , but I really was like what , I didn't understand where they were coming from . That it was basically yeah , yeah , so I love it . Is there anything else you would tell us about , about chat , gpt or AI , before we lose your infinite mind there , that so full of great ideas , like okay .

Like , for example , you told me a while back you're like okay , if you're going to do this event and you're going to invite women from all different churches , you named like 10 things that I could do right off like the bat . Like you know an easy way to to invite everybody , kind of walk us through , like that sort of thing .

Speaker 3

Yeah , this is your personal AI consultation .

Speaker 1

I told you I'm so spoiler spoiler , spoiler alert I might be doing something like that very soon .

Speaker 3

Yeah , yeah . No , I think what we were talking about with the events is that I was suggesting that you have AI and chat gbt , pull all of the churches within a certain area and once you have that , then you would say , okay , great , good job , like way to go chat gbt . Now I want you to craft an email that goes to the church's event director .

I want you to explain who I am , what I offer for a speaking and what my availability is to come speak to your women's group , and I want you to create an email that I can send to all of these different communities . Yeah , and then it would do that for you .

Yeah , so essentially , you're creating , like all these different marketing tasks that would take someone hours and hours to pull all the churches in the boon county area , and then now you're creating all these emails that need to get sent out . It's like you can literally do that in two minutes .

Speaker 1

Yeah , and what I really liked about that example and why I wanted to share it , is because those tasks built on each other , so after you ask it to do this and it was successful at that , then you could build on that .

Speaker 3

Exactly , yeah . And then you can say now create a Facebook post that explains that I'm available for speaking in the boon county area or whatever it is . Yeah , you'd want to be more detailed than that , but you can kind of think through all the different ways that you would want to evangelize your services .

Speaker 1

Yeah , speaking of evangelizing your services , I think we should consider that you evangelize your services for a small fee , so if people are listening to this and they want to one-on-one with you , that you should do that , because it's a very valuable service .

Speaker 3

Well , it was really fun . I mean , I was even thinking about , okay , what are some ways that I can stand out ? And you know my industry that I'm in is very relationship driven , and so a lot of the ways that people build relationships is through conferences .

Well , I didn't get to go to every conference and so I thought how am I going to get to know people in my industry , be well known in my industry ? And I thought I'm going to start posting educational content on LinkedIn .

And I chose chat GPT as a lane where I could start talking about some AI tips and things like that , because I'm in the sales and marketing and my audiences as well , and it was amazing how many doors that opened just because I was able to talk about what I was seeing and tips .

And , yeah , I would love to talk with anybody who's interested in seeing how they can use that for personal life or business . I think it's so exciting . We're really at the beginning of a new way of working and doing life and I encourage anyone to get started .

Speaker 1

Yeah , well , before we go , I just have to tell you , in case you don't know it . I'm so proud of you .

Speaker 3

Aw , I'm so proud of you .

Speaker 1

Well , I just love , love , love . Seeing you out there , you know , paving your own way , finding your own path , seeing like , where can I bring value ? And bring value that is unique to me , by meeting the need , whatever the need is .

And then you're not afraid to do the hard work and learn the hard things and take chances and not be scared , and find your own way and make your own way .

Speaker 3

Well , and thanks for giving me my first AI speaking gift .

Speaker 1

Well , I learned so much and you know what I'm leaving this conversation actually really encouraged as opposed to overwhelmed and in past . When I hear people talk about it , I don't know what they're talking about , so I just get overwhelmed and I don't feel empowered .

I feel quite the opposite , and so this conversation to me has makes me , makes me feel like , okay , I'm just going to get in there and try it .

Speaker 3

Yeah , and I think having some of the scripting for prompts that you can use is really really helpful . So if you ever need prompt help , let me know .

Speaker 1

Okay , well , I will let you know because I have . I have every way to get ahold of you , literally in the book . So all right , rachel , again , thank you so much for sharing all this information . You've been delightful as always , and Denise will be back from India . Just a little tip there .

I think I'm not sure the 12 people how many of them in India have COVID , but a fair number .

Speaker 3

Oh no .

Speaker 1

Yeah , so just praying for her to be able to safely execute the plan of their mission there and to get home safely , but so she'll be back to tell us all about her mission trip , as always . Promise me you'll come back for another episode at some point .

Speaker 3

Well , I'll be back soon . This was too much fun . Now that I've got to taste back , I'm like when can I come back ?

Speaker 1

I love it , I love it so , and again , I think that just goes back to two , you're at a point in your life whenever you have , you can enjoy it , and so , like you know , come back because it fills your cup .

Speaker 3

That's right . Yes , well , I'll see everybody soon then .

Speaker 1
