Welcome back to another episode of Rn R, which stands for rest and relaxation. And Rachel and Robin, we hope these short episodes give you a little bit of deep breath as you enter into your weekend. So today you get me, Rachel. So I hope you're ready because today we are talking all about how you can be more magnetic in your job interviews. So I'm not gonna lie. I love an interview. I think it is so fun. I remember one time I had I was doing an interview for a job and they were like, I hope you don't mind. But we're gonna have you stand in front of our entire company for this interview. So it's like me, and then like 15 other people just lobbing questions at me. And I was like, Oh, yeah, more people, the better like I love it. So interviews are really my sweet spot. And today I wanted to give you three different tips for how you can be more magnetic and lean. That job in your interviews. Alright, let's get right into it. So my first tip is dress for the part. This may seem kind of obvious, but you would be shocked at how many interviews I have either been a part of, with me interviewing other people, or have gone to where people are not dressed up. I think it is so important to show that you are professional. Even if it's a job where their work culture isn't super dressy. You are not a part of that culture yet you are an interviewee. So you need to make sure that when you step into that environment, your first impression is someone who is professional and ready for the interview. Now, I do understand that there are some circumstances where you may not be able to afford an outfit, but I think if you do have the means you need to dress the part to the best of your ability. All right, are you ready for tip number two. So a lot of people say that confidence is key in interviews and I am not discounting competence is very important. But I would also say that just as important is your energy. These people who are doing the interviews most likely are taking time out of their busy day they have a list that's a million years long of things that they need to get done. And this may just seem like a distraction, like, I got to go to an interview. So if you can make it exciting for them, you bring that positive energy into the room that is going to do wonders and set you apart from other candidates. I know in some of my past jobs, my employers have made comments about how my energy was the thing that made them want to hire me on the spot, or my energy was something that set me apart from other applicants because I was so excited to be there for the job. And in my answers, I conveyed that this was something that I really wanted. And so some tips to have better energy is do a hype song before you do this interview. Like put it up. Whatever jam it is that gets you hyped and go in there with a smile on your face and bright eyes. You know how Tyra Banks told you to smile with your eyes grow, you need to be smiling with your eyes in that interview. Another thing is listen to me right now in this podcast. You can tell with my voice that I'm fluctuating, I'm really interested, I'm passionate about it. That is having energy in your voice. And when you have that passion and that energy, the confidence will come because what's gonna happen is that the person who's interviewing you is going to mirror whatever energy you bring to the table. My third tip to be more magnetic in your interviews is to come prepared with specific things about the job that you are applying for. Okay, so before the interview even happens, you need to do your research. And I'm not just talking about quick google search. What is McDonald Okay, great. Maybe you learn one or two things, but something that always frustrated me when I was interviewing people for specific roles. In video, I would always ask them, okay, what videos have you seen from our company that you really loved and why? And I was shocked that so many applicants did not do their research. They were like, Oh, yeah.

That one was, yeah, it was great. And it was just so obvious that they had not taken the time to even watch the videos. I'm like, you're wanting to make videos for us, but you haven't even taking the time to see one. If you like the videos we're already doing or two if it matches your style, and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Because at that point, what you're telling the employer is like, oh, you're you're just another, another company on my list. I don't really care. But if you show up with specific examples from that company, that you really like and why you like it, and why That fits in with your work culture, and why that fits in with how you like to do work, and your ethics and your practices. What you are telling that employer is that you are going to be a good fit, and that you will work with the company, you will work with the company culture and you are bought into their vision. And it's not a lie. It's not like you're just like, please don't just say it, just to say it so you sound better in the interview, really pick out something that you are impressed about. And even if that's not a question that's brought up during the interview, it's something that you can say when you always get the question. So do you have any questions? And you can say, Yes, I noticed this project and then ask a question about it. Or you can even say if you are able to look up who your interviewer is going to be before the interview happens, do your research on them too, in their own professional journey, because that is going to set you apart from the other interview applicants because you have gone the extra mile All right. This was really short, three quick tips to help you be more magnetic in your interviews, one dress apart to bring the energy. And three, do your research come prepared. I hope that this was helpful to you guys. If you use these tips and you get a job, please let me know because I would love to hear from you. Until next week. Bye bye.
