Season 1 - Episode 17 - The Preacher's Devotional Podcast
How does Christ’s resurrection benefit us?

How does Christ’s resurrection benefit us?
Why was it necessary for Christ to humble himself even unto death? Since Christ has died for us, why do we still have to die? What further benefit do we receive from Christ's sacrifice and death on the cross? Why is there added: He descended into hell?
What do you confess when you say that he suffered? Why did he suffer under Pontius Pilate as judge? Does it have a special meaning that Christ was crucified and did not die in a different way?
What do you confess when you say: He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary? What benefit do you receivefrom the holy conception and birth of Christ?
Why is he called God's only-begotten Son, since we also are children of God? Why do you call him our Lord?
Why is he called Christ, that is, Anointed? Why are you called a Christian?
Why is the Son of God called Jesus, that is, Saviour? Do those who seek their salvation or well-being in saints, in themselves, or anywhere else, also believe in the only Saviour Jesus?
What do you understand by the providence of God? What does it benefit us to knowthat God has created all thingsand still upholds them by his providence?
What do you believe when you say: I believe in God the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth?
How are these articles divided? Into three parts:the first is about God the Father and our creation; the second about God the Son and our redemption; the third about God the Holy Spirit and our sanctification. Since there is only one God, why do you speak of three persons,Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
Are all people then saved through Christ just as they were lost through Adam? What is true faith? What then must a Christian believe? What are these articles?
Why must the mediator be a true and righteous human? Then who is this mediator—true God and at the same time a true and righteous human? How do you come to know this?
According to God’s righteous judgment we deserve punishment both now and in eternity: how then can we escape this punishment and return to God’s favor? Can we make this payment ourselves? Can another creature—any at all—pay this debt for us? What kind of mediator and deliverer should we look for then?
But doesn’t God do us an injustice by requiring in his law what we are unable to do? Does God permit such disobedience and rebellion to go unpunished? But isn’t God also merciful?
Did God create people so wicked and perverse? Then where does this corrupt human nature come from? But are we so corrupt that we are totally unable to do any good and inclined toward all evil?
How do you come to know your misery? Can you live up to all this perfectly?
What is your only comfort in life and in death? What do you need to know in order to live and die in the joy of this comfort?
