Episode description

Every Friday around 8:15-8:20 a.m. on KFAN 100.3 the Power Trip Morning show plays the Initials Game. The game involves 12 items people, place, things, phrases or anything as long as they share the same initials. All 12 items share the same initials. The contestants do not know the initials until they are revealed shortly before the game starts. Each item has 6 clues. As soon as the contestants know who or what the host is describing, they yell out their name. Their name is their buzzer. If the contestant gets it right, they get a point. If they get it wrong they are out for just that item. The item does have to be pronounced correctly. It is best out of 12 with tiebreakers if needed. Tiebreaker items have 3 clues.

Oh my god, I let him take my commercial on my seat for five seconds. You got a commercial? Uh a song playing in the background. You're doing smelling song, smelling gone. You put them in my face. I got, I got smelling. It's a way to be a good friend of ours. Plays professional hockey and we were doing them once Josh and he walked in. He goes, why do you guys do that? Professional hockey player? He was pissed that we were doing I'm not pissed that you do.

I do it, so I'm not pissed at you. The other way, I do it before every drive, so you don't do it. I would not know. I think twelve o'clock is my start time for every drive of the game. Yeah, pretty much. Wow is that pretty common for the defense? Yeah? Everybody NHL that all the players interesting, the guy got all the players, But the guy back there's too humble. He played like tense in the NHL. Not me, this guy six different teams,

but like over a decade in the NHL. That's what I'm telling you. It's gonna come in handy playing for a lot of coaches. How I tell you on TV, you're gonna love it because yeah, I'm lucky enough to sit back and and and just talk be you talking ahead about the game. I love you're gonna You're gonna love that job too, my friends. But you keep playing as long as you can trust me, as long as you can that's the goal. All right, It's time Josh Mittelli's Minnesota Viking Safety

makes his Initials debut. Starting out, it's time for Initials Game five oh two on the Power Trip with your host Corey Coot. Let's go around the room and meet the competitors. Sauce, Let's start with you. What happens if you win Initials today. I'm sponsored at my friends at Seventh Avenue Pizza. I was talking about them earlier, but I was rudely interrupted by Dan

Barrero and Glorios Defon. Stock up for the big game. Head on over to any London buyer leies for buy one, get one free sale on all Seventh Avenue pizzas and if I win, tweet me and tag Seventh Avenue Pizza through the end of today. In one lucky winner will win one hundred dollars to put towards restocking their freezer with Seventh Avenue bates. Christopher what happens if you win an have we got something? I mean, it's even better now.

Radco has been with me for a long time and they've extended it now. You'll receive ten percent off your entire order now through Monday in store online at radco dot com when you use the promo code initials if I win today. Discount does not apply toppers, but thank you to Radco. You've been with me through a lot of losses and a couple of wins. Miss Marnie marnee Gellner. What happens if you win in my beautiful, wonderful hometown.

Friends at Great Clips are sponsoring me, and if I win, tag me and tag Great Clips today through the end of Sunday, just like we did last week, Oh lucky one year of free haircuts at Great Clips. The salon plus Great Clips will donate one thousand dollars to the charity of my choice. Defending champion Marni did win last week. I forgot about it. That come back to back and sorry, Hi, Mark, we needs a sponsor.

If you're out there listening and saying why Mark wins a lot, I'd like to sponsor Mark and then run some kind of promotion for my business, contact burb what about Amazon wristlets? Well, then contact Chris Hockey, he has one to sell that says work now. And then Josh Mittelli's of the Minnesota Vikings. We've asked all week for you tweet at Josh at initials game, at Power Trip, and at Vikings and if you tagged all four of those, and if Josh wins today, one of those people wins Vikings season

tickets, which is sweet. And then also guys might want to get in on that before you can still tweet it's still eligible. And then also Josh has a bunch of football is out in the hallway. You're going to sign them. Every point you get, one of those goes up to one of the people that tweeted at us to try to win the tickets, the consolation prizes if if Josh at least gets on the board, somebody wins an autograph Josh Mittelli's football, which is also pretty sweet as well. That's he just

said. The nerves were starting to kick in too. Yeah I'm good now, and they came and they went, yeah good, I'm ready to go, Yes, Zach, and watch this a Cafe dot Com slash watch taking to Quantum Fiber. You can watch them and Josh. Look if if you're feeling nervous and you're like, man, I'm not prepared for this. The one way you could have gotten prepared is there are five versions of the Horn game available game dot Com. You can play this at home with your friends.

I searched it up on Google. Oh yeah, you zero zero things, don't care, don't care, spend. But then I found the podcast. Somebody was gracious. Yeah, yeah, somebody send it to me on Twitter. You can listen to five hundred and one pass games that time. So quick refresher by the way, Yeah, initials Game dot Com versions two, four, and five still available, Josh, quick recap for people that

don't hear the game all the time. Maybe you brought in some new listeners, people that are fans of yours that are listening for the first time. So I have twelve items. They are people, places, things, phrases, they can be anything. They're going to share the same initials. I haven't told you the initials. I'll announce him here in a second. After we do the Jackpope, I start reading clues. There's six clues. P item. As soon as you know who are what I'm describing you, yell

out your name. Josh is your buzzer. If you get it right, you get a point. If you get it wrong, you're only out for the rest of that item. You have to pronounce the answers correctly. We played best out of twelve. The all time record is nine, held by Sauce and aj Monsour. That's pretty much it. Any of the rules that I can think of. I think that's that's it. That's good. Yeah,

let's get all right. So before we play game five oh two, we have to potentially give away four sorry, fifty eight thousand, five hundred dollars. Now it's time for the union initials jackpot. That's right, you heard him. It's a lot of money. Fifty eight thousand, five hundred dollars up for grabs. You looking to buy a new car or save money in your current car loong deal with Saint Paul Federal Credit Union now forering car loan rates as low as six point two nine percent applied today. It's Saint

PAULFC dot org slash kaffan federally insured by the NCU. A all right, Josh, Josh is making fun of Josh turned around he goes, he goes, he's standing up, standing up, He's got you can watch, I can watch. I think he's now he knows that you're a short king with a risk. You know what the worst part is, Josh, I said, like right behind you on the plane. You can't even see me. You don't even know I'm married. Just walk right by me. It's okay, we're gonna be friends. Now. You've inspired me. So yeah.

What he just said, though, is Saint Paul Federal Credit Union gives us five hundred dollars every week. This thing goes up five hundred every week. It's up to fifty eight thousand, five hundred dollars thanks to our friends at Saint Paul Federal Credit Union. If the caller here guesses one letter in the right spot, they win two hundred and fifty bucks. But if they tell me both, and I'm the only one that knows, Josh, I'm the only one that knows. If they tell me both, they win fifty eight

thousand, five hundred dollars. What is your name and where are you from? Paul? Yeah, my name is Paul. I'm from Minnieska, Paul from Mini Mini Esca. What the hell is minni Esca. It's just north of Winona, between Winona and Wabashaw. Okay, I love that high one. I drive through there on my way to see my daughter all the time. I love that place. First, Paul, are you a fan of the Minnesota Vikings? I certainly am. Are you a fan of Josh Mittelis? I hope? So? Of course? How cool would it be if

you won fifty eight thousand, five hundred dollars? Then you and Josh could celebrate together? Well, dream come true? I guess you could say, Okay, we're gonna do what you can buy. Just tell me the right initials. What are you guessing? I'm going with M L, M L, the letter M and the letter L money. All right, Paul, there we go. Oh, by the way, one other rule, we

call this the Jana Shorter rule. Whenever I say the initials, don't say anything that you can come in that comes into your head out loud, just in case it's a future answer. I was this practice that you asked, Paul, and something called mini Esca is guessing M L for a shot at fifty eight thousand? Let does Paul have at least one right for two hundred and fifty dollars and is he still alive for fifty eight thousand and five one hundred Paul, before we let you go. Sorry, buddy, you didn't

win. Paul. What's your last name? First? How about what is it starting with? What does it start with? My last name is Michaels. Okay, PM, the initials are p B. Second, all right, Paul, thanks man.
